Whoopi Goldberg of The View recently suggested that Americans need to ‘suck it up’ and pay more in taxes.

She said this right after admitting that many Americans are struggling on a day to day basis, which makes her argument even more absurd.

In recent weeks, DOGE has shown American taxpayers that our government has a special talent for wasting our tax dollars, but Whoopi clearly believes that the way to prosperity is for people to give the government more money.

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg, a multimillionaire, told Americans on Thursday that they need to “suck it up” and “pay a little more taxes.”

Goldberg called on Americans to pay more taxes to help pay for schools and other essentials, despite claiming that Americans are also “struggling with everything on a day to day basis.” The co-host’s net worth is estimated to be $60 million as of April 2025.

“A 90-day pause doesn’t mean anything to anyone because people, as you said, are struggling with everyone that they’re living with on a day to day basis. Now you know what we’re fighting against,” Goldberg said. “But I also believe that it’s very important to remind people that now is the time for each and every one of us to suck it up and make sure that we know what we need to take care of. If you’re in an area where the school district is losing, then you got to pay a little more taxes and you gotta help the schools out. If you’re finding that your libraries are falling apart, you have to give more.

President Donald Trump has authorized the United States military to take full jurisdiction over federal lands along the U.S.–Mexico border in an aggressive push to seal the border and repel the ongoing invasion of illegal immigrants, traffickers, and cartel operatives.

The memorandum, National Security Presidential Memorandum/NSPM-4, directs the Secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture, and Homeland Security to facilitate the immediate transfer of federal lands—including the Roosevelt Reservation—to Department of Defense (DoD) jurisdiction.

This will allow for the rapid construction of new border barriers, deployment of advanced surveillance systems, and the establishment of “National Defense Areas” where military forces will have full operational authority.

“The southern border is under siege,” President Trump declared in an accompanying statement. “Weak leadership in Washington has allowed criminal aliens, drug traffickers, and hostile actors to flood into our country unchecked. Today, we are taking back control. We will no longer tolerate lawlessness, and we will use every tool at our disposal—including our military—to defend the American people.”

The order invokes 43 U.S.C. 155, a provision allowing the federal government to withdraw public lands for national defense purposes, bypassing bureaucratic hurdles that have previously stalled border security efforts.

Additionally, the memorandum builds on Executive Order 14167, signed on Inauguration Day 2025, which explicitly tasks the military with “repelling the invasion” and sealing the border from unlawful entry.

Critically, the directive empowers military commanders to exclude individuals from designated zones, effectively creating a hardened security perimeter where trespassers—including activists, human traffickers, and illegal crossers—could face immediate detention or expulsion.

President Donald Trump said he has had enough of Mexico leaving Texas farmers high and dry.

“Mexico OWES Texas 1.3 million acre-feet of water under the 1944 Water Treaty, but Mexico is unfortunately violating their Treaty obligation. This is very unfair, and it is hurting South Texas Farmers very badly,” Trump wrote Thursday on Truth Social.

“Last year, the only Sugar Mill in Texas CLOSED, because Mexico has been stealing the water from Texas Farmers. Ted Cruz has been leading the fight to get South Texas the water it is owed, but Sleepy Joe refused to lift a finger to help the Farmers.

“THAT ENDS NOW! I will make sure Mexico doesn’t violate our Treaties, and doesn’t hurt our Texas Farmers,” Trump proclaimed.

“Just last month, I halted water shipments to Tijuana until Mexico complies with the 1944 Water Treaty,” Trump explained.

Last month, the State Department denied a request for water for Tijuana, marking the first U.S. denial since the 1944 treaty took effect, according to The Hill. Under the treaty, Mexico sends Texas water from the Rio Grande while the U.S. sends Mexico water from the Colorado River.

The current five-year deal calls for about 490 billion gallons from the U.S. to flow to Mexico each year, while 570 billion gallons from Mexico head north, according to CNN.

But even last year, Mexico was far behind on its commitment, Maria Elena Giner, the U.S. commissioner of the International Boundary and Water Commission, said.

“We’ve only gotten about a year’s worth of water, and we’re already well into our fourth year,” she said.

Trump said in his post, he wants the imbalance resolved.

“My Agriculture Secretary, Brooke Rollins, is standing up for Texas Farmers, and we will keep escalating consequences, including TARIFFS and, maybe even SANCTIONS, until Mexico honors the Treaty, and GIVES TEXAS THE WATER THEY ARE OWED!” Trump wrote.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Mexico is complying “to the extent water is available,” citing a drought, according to Reuters.

Sheinbaum said Mexico has sent the U.S. a proposal to address the situation moving forward.

“I am sure, as on other issues, an agreement will be reached,” Sheinbaum said.

Meanwhile, Texas farmers suffer, Brian Jones, a farmer in Hidalgo County, Texas, and a Texas Farm Bureau board member, said, according to CNN.

“Farmers in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas are either out of water or running out of water quickly,” he said.

“The sugar industry is lost to Texas and will never return,” he explained, due to the water crisis.

The Rio Grande Valley Sugar Growers sugar mill, the last in the state, closed down with officials blaming Mexico.

“For over 30 years, farmers in South Texas have been battling with Mexico’s failure to comply with the provisions of the 1944 Water Treaty,” it said when announcing the closure.

President Donald Trump told reporters on Air Force One Friday night that he took and passed a cognitive test earlier in the day as part of an annual presidential physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

The 78-year-old Trump said a doctor’s report would be issued Sunday, but that he felt he was in “very good shape.”

While Trump has said he has taken and passed several cognitive tests over the years, including in his first term, his predecessor in office, Joe Biden, refused to take one (for obvious reasons,)

Bloomberg reporter Josh Wingrove posted a photo of Trump speaking to reporters on the flight to Palm Beach, Florida:

When asked if it was the “man,woman,camera,TV” test he said “it’s a pretty well known test. Whatever it is, I got every one — I got it all right”

A Massachusetts Democrat state lawmaker was indicted on five counts of wire fraud and one count of falsification of records, the Justice Department announced on Thursday.

Christopher Flanagan, a state rep for the First Barnstable District, was arrested for using stolen funds for personal and political expenses.

“Massachusetts State Representative for the First Barnstable District has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston for allegedly orchestrating a multi-faceted scheme that defrauded a local trade association of tens of thousands of dollars, used to fund personal and political expenses and falsifying records to conceal his alleged conduct,” the DOJ said.

“Christopher Flanagan, 37, of Dennis, Mass. was indicted on five counts of wire fraud and one count of falsification of records. Flanagan was arrested this morning and will appear in federal court in Boston at 2:30 p.m. today,” the DOJ said.

According to the indictment, in October 2021, facing personal financial difficulty, Flanagan stole $36,000 from the Home Builders Association (HBA) in Cape Cod while he served as the executive officer of the organization.

“FLANAGAN defrauded the HBA by (a) using his signatory authority as HBA Executive Officer to secretly withdraw tens of thousands of dollars from HBA’s bank accounts; (b) entering false information in HBA’s financial bookkeeping records; (c) providing materially false and misleading HBA financial information to the HBA Board during board meetings; and (d) creating and submitting false expense reports to the HBA Board to further conceal his fraud,” the indictment read.

For the next two years, Flanagan wired thousands of dollars to himself to fund his personal and political expenses.

In one instance, Flanagan is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in HBA funds to pay for psychic services.

The feds also accused Flanagan of obstructing the investigation.

Flanagan is facing up to 40 years in prison.

“Today’s charges against Massachusetts State Representative Christopher Flanagan reveal an appalling breach of public trust. According to the indictment, Mr. Flanagan defrauded the very organization he was supposed to serve – allegedly funneling tens of thousands of dollars into his own pockets to pay off personal bills, buy luxury items and bankroll his political campaign. He allegedly stole money and then went to extraordinary lengths to cover it up, going so far as fabricating fake personas to mislead those who questioned his conduct. This alleged scheme was calculated on every level,” said United States Attorney Leah B. Foley. “No one is entitled to power by way of fraud, and the people of Massachusetts deserve better.”

Former socialite and convicted sex offender, Ghislaine Maxwell is now asking the US Supreme Court to hear her appeal against a 2021 conviction on five counts of aiding convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in his sexual abuse of young girls.

Daily Mail reported:

“Maxwell’s lawyers filed a 159-page Petition to the highest court in the country on Thursday asking the Supreme Court Justices to throw out her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.”

In Epstein’s ‘Pedophile Island’, Ghislaine and French model scout – and alleged serial rapist – Jean-Luc Brunel, who died in La Santé prison in Paris.

Maxwell is serving her sentence in Tallahassee State Prison, in Florida.

“The former close friend of Prince Andrew continues to vehemently deny all the charges against her and is asking the Supreme Court to throw out the conviction which could end up with her walking free.

Maxwell argues she should never have been charged as Epstein’s ‘co-conspirator’ because of a 2007 plea deal Epstein made in Florida in which he agreed to plead guilty to two counts of child sex abuse and served 13-months in jail in exchange for any of his ‘co-conspirators’ avoiding prosecution.”

A federal appeals judge rejected her appeal last year, saying the Southern District of New York was not bound by the Florida ‘sweetheart deal’.

“In their lengthy petition, Maxwell’s lawyers said: ‘Despite the existence of a non-prosecution agreement promising in plain language that the United States would not prosecute any co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein, the United States in fact prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell as a co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein’.”

The prosecutors argue that different jurisdictions have different rules to honoring a plea deal made elsewhere.

“The petition, written by Maxwell’s high-powered lawyer David Markus, added: ‘A defendant should be able to rely on a promise that the United States will not prosecute again, without being subject to a gotcha in some other jurisdiction that chooses to interpret that plain language promise in some other way’.”

Epstein was found dead in 2019 while behind bars in New York, after being arrested on child sex trafficking charges.

A Pennsylvania judge was convicted of shooting her sleeping boyfriend in the head.

Sonya McKnight, a magisterial judge in Dauphin County, shot her sleeping boyfriend in the temple last February after the victim, Michael McCoy tried to end their relationship and told her to move out.

McCoy, who miraculously survived but is now blind in one eye, told police he woke up “with massive head pain” and couldn’t see. McKnight tried to convince him that he shot himself.

McKnight was convicted of attempted murder and aggravated assault on Wednesday.

This wasn’t the first time McKnight shot a romantic partner. She reportedly shot her ex-husband in the groin after an argument over furniture. She wasn’t charged for that shooting because she said she was acting in self-defense.

NBC News reported:

A Pennsylvania judge was convicted Wednesday of attempted murder and other counts for shooting her boyfriend in the head as he slept last year, officials said.

A jury convicted Sonya McKnight, a magisterial judge in Dauphin County, on one count each of attempted murder and aggravated assault, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office said.

“There were two people in that house, and only two people in that house,” District Attorney Sean McCormack told reporters after the verdict. “And one of them, the one who was shot, said he did not shoot himself.”

The shooting happened Feb. 10, 2024, at a home in Harrisburg after the victim, Michael McCoy, tried to end his one-year relationship with McKnight, authorities said in a probable cause statement.

McCoy told detectives that he had been asleep for about an hour or two when he awoke “with massive head pain” and could not see, police have said in an affidavit.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned illegal aliens in the United States on Friday that they will be arrested, charged with a crime, and deported if they do not register with the federal government under the “long-ignored” Alien Registration Act.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, “On Jan. 20, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion, which directed the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that aliens comply with their duty to register with the government under section 262 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) (8 U.S.C. 1302), and ensure that failure to comply with the registration requirement is treated as a civil and criminal enforcement priority.”

This requires all unregistered aliens who are 14 years of age or older and have been in the country for 30 days or longer to register and provide fingerprint DNA to the government.

“As President Trump and Secretary Noem have both said, if you register and you leave now, you choose to self-deport; you may have the opportunity to return later legally,” Leavitt announced while opening her press briefing on Friday.

Leavitt: The deadline for registration under the Alien Registration Act is today. All foreign nationals present in the United States longer than 30 days must register with the federal government. Failure to comply with this is a crime punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both. As President Trump and Secretary Noem have both said, if you register and you leave now, you choose to self deport; you may have the opportunity to return later legally.

But if not, you will be arrested, fined, deported, never to return to our country again. The Trump administration will continue to enforce our nation’s immigration laws. We will not pick and choose which allows to enforce. We must know who is in our country for the safety and the security of our homeland and for all American citizens.
