If you’re having trouble keeping track, here’s a stripped-down, non-exhausting list of the developments in the peace negotiations just in the last 24 hours: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with French and Ukrainian Officials in Paris; a memorandum on the ‘Minerals Deal’ was signed, and President Donald J. Trump announced full agreement will be signed next week; Secretary Rubio talked on the phone with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov updating him on the talks; Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth met with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu to discuss peace efforts.
Whatever else we may want to say about the titanic efforts by the Donald J. Trump Administration to find a solution for the geopolitical complexities of the war in Ukraine, there’s no denying that the pace of peace negotiations is picking up, which would suggest at least a certain degree of success in the whole process.
Yesterday, Rubio and Witkoff met with Emmanuel Macron plus European and Ukrainian officials, intensifying efforts to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Rubio says a US ‘peace framework’ received an ‘encouraging reception’, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s office called the talks ‘constructive and positive’ – even though, during the day, Zelensky again threw shade at Witkoff for ‘spreading Russian narratives’.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron hosted Rubio and Witkoff at the Elysee Palace in ‘the first substantive, high level and in-person talks on Trump’s peace push that have included the Europeans’.
“French officials called the Paris talks ‘excellent’ and said they showed Europeans were back at the table for negotiations on Ukraine’s future. ‘Everyone wants to get peace. A robust and sustainable peace. The question is about phasing’, Macron said while meeting Rubio’s delegation.
A senior Macron adviser said the talks showed ‘a real convergence’ on Trump’s aim to end the war.”

The American, European and Ukrainian negotiators are set to meet again next week, in London.
“Andriy Yermak, Zelenskiy’s chief of staff, said he had met with Macron’s foreign policy advisor Emmanuel Bonne and his British and German counterparts in Paris. He also met Rubio and Witkoff. ‘We exchanged views on the next steps toward achieving a just and lasting peace, including the implementation of a full ceasefire, the involvement of a multinational military contingent, and the development of an effective security architecture for Ukraine’, Yermak said on X.”
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth received France’s Sebastien Lecornu to discuss efforts for a ‘durable peace’ in Ukraine.

Then, in October, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stepped in and destroyed the outstanding gains.
The market tanked, the Dow Jones dropped over 5,000 points, the Middle Class was decimated and the global markets were in chaos. Jerome Powell’s stock market crash was GREATER THAN the market crash after 9-11. The guy is a dangerous lunatic.
The Dow sank 5,036 in December 2019 from its all-time high on October 3, 2018.
Jerome Powell’s comments on October 3rd and continuing promises of rate hikes caused the Dow Jones sank 18.7%.
The Dow is down over 5,000 points or 18%!
The stock market crashed 14% after the 9-11 Islamic attacks on America.
The DOW reached another all-time high on October 3, 2018 reaching 26,829. It was up for the 103rd time since Donald Trump was elected President and 46% since the November 2016 election.
This was clearly too much for the Fed’s Powell who then scared investors with his message that he will raise rates well into next year.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is finally responding after explosive allegations surfaced accusing her of mortgage fraud related to her Brooklyn property. But instead of addressing the facts, she’s lashing out at critics — including President Donald Trump — and portraying herself as the victim of a “right-wing revenge tour.”
On Tuesday night, the Trump Administration criminally referred New York State Attorney General Letitia James to the Department of Justice over accusations of mortgage fraud.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) accused Letitia James of falsifying records, citing a 5-unit property in New York she claimed was only four units in order to get a more favorable loan.
FHFA Director William Pulte said in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that James appears to have falsified records to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms.
In an interview Thursday night on NY1’s Inside City Hall, James was asked point-blank about a criminal referral alleging she misrepresented her home’s occupancy classification on mortgage documents — a potential felony offense that would land any other New Yorker behind bars.
Of course, James deflected questions about the mortgage issue, insisting she won’t “litigate this case in a camera.”
Instead, she pivoted to her office’s $454 million judgment against Trump for allegedly ‘inflating asset values’—a case currently under appeal.
Errol Louis:
What is going on here? Did anybody contact you before this letter went out, accusing you of this, that, and the other, and making a criminal referral about real estate transactions?
Letitia James:
No, not at all. Let me just say to all New Yorkers and to all Americans: the allegations are baseless. The allegations are nothing more than a revenge tour. As you mentioned, my office was successful in securing a $454 million judgment against Donald Trump and others for exaggerating the value of his assets. He engaged in a pattern and practice of fraud, and the interest is accruing each and every day while the case is on appeal in the First Department. It’s important that individuals know this is nothing more than the continuing evolution of the tour.
He went after law firms, universities, immigrants, women. Thousands of federal employees right now are unemployed. Our government is in chaos and in disarray. Medicaid, Social Security, CFPB—and the list goes on and on and on. As you mentioned, each and every day, my office is leading the fight against these executive orders, which have no legal import at all—have no legal significance.
We are standing up for the rights and privileges of New Yorkers and Americans. I will not be silenced. I will not be bullied. I will not bend. I will not break. And I will not bow to anyone.
No one is above the law, including the President of these United States. The Office of the Attorney General will continue to stand up.
Errol Louis:
Let me follow up on some of what’s in this letter. It says, “According to media reports,” which, for us in the media, is a red flag—meaning that it seems to be based on some social media posts that I know were made by partisan political actors. But just let me ask you about some of the specifics in the letter. They’re saying that your house in Brooklyn is a legal five-family, and the mortgage on it is for a four-family house. Is that true?
Letitia James:
Let me just say that, Errol, as any good attorney, I will not litigate this case in front of a camera. It’s important that we respond to these allegations at the appropriate time and in an appropriate way.
But I will not go back and forth with respect to these baseless allegations. I am more focused, again, on standing up for the freedoms, the liberties, and for the rule of law in the state of New York.
Errol Louis:
I was under the impression, by all of this, that what they were really looking for is what they got—which is a headline saying, “Tish James is under criminal investigation.” Is that pretty much what’s going on here?
Letitia James:
Yeah, that’s what they got. That’s what they got. It’s unfortunate that you have some of these right-wing, conservative individuals who are camped out in front of my home and in front of the homes of my relatives in Virginia, harassing them each and every day.
It’s unfortunate—knocking on the doors of my neighbors and the neighbors of my relatives in the state of Virginia. It is nothing more than a headline, nothing more than, again, retaliation against all of the actions that I have taken successfully against Donald Trump.

The Gateway Pundit and the White Collar Fraud previously reported back in early March that James has been implicated in multiple instances of mortgage fraud, with the most damning claims centered on her Brooklyn and Virginia properties.
For over two decades, James allegedly misrepresented her Brooklyn apartment building as a four-unit property on mortgage applications, despite official records confirming it has five units.
This seemingly minor discrepancy enabled her to secure a 2011 Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) loan at a remarkably low 2.7% interest rate, saving her an estimated $44,000 annually.
To qualify, James claimed financial hardship, despite earning over $126,390 in 2011 from her New York City Council position, CUNY work, and rental income. Critics argue this hardship claim was dubious at best, raising questions about her eligibility for the taxpayer-backed loan.
Further allegations point to a 2023 Virginia property purchase, where James declared a Norfolk home as her primary residence, despite New York law requiring her to maintain residency in the state as Attorney General.

The Department of Justice has filed a supplemental sentencing letter against former Congressman George Santos, doubling down on its push for a nearly 7.5-year prison sentence.
Just days before his sentencing on April 25, DOJ prosecutors submitted an aggressive letter to Judge Joanna Seybert, claiming that Santos has shown “no remorse” for his conduct — citing social media posts in which he criticized the federal government and portrayed himself as a victim of prosecutorial overreach.
DOJ’s letter absurdly complains that Santos tweeted about being a “scapegoat,” accused the DOJ of going soft on drug lords and human traffickers, and dared to call the ruling class a “cabal.”
One of the tweets cited in the sentencing memorandum:
“Hi my name is George Santos and the DOJ has had a hard on for me since December of 2022.
I refuse to let them break me or my spirit and that makes them big Mad… they have used elaborate language to drag me and hinder my ability to earn income…

George Santos has been a target of the left and RINO Republicans since he won his election in 2022. George previously told The Gateway Pundit he had 70 reporters outside his door in the US Congress on numerous occasions.
They all targeted George Santos. Rep. Santos was the most conservative member of his freshman class in Congress. George is a friend of this website, The Gateway Pundit.
Santos received a 100% score from Heritage Action for America during the 118th Congress, reflecting full alignment with the organization’s conservative policy positions.
Despite this perfect score, Santos’s tenure in Congress was short-lived. He was expelled from the House on December 1, 2023, following a 311–114 vote, after revelations of extensive fabrications in his personal and professional background, as well as legal issues including guilty pleas to wire fraud and identity theft.

Charles Bradford Smith, AKA Brad Smith, sent out a video this week to his supporters thanking them for always being there for him as he was unjustly imprisoned by the lawless Biden regime after the January 6 protests and riot.
Brad was a political prisoner of the Biden regime. Brad attended the protests on January 6, 2021 at the US Capitol and watched from outside the US Capitol.
Brad never entered the US Capitol, never brought a weapon, never vandalized anything, never committed violence, and never hurt anyone.
But the Biden regime sentenced him to 41 months in prison for touching a huge Trump sign that passed over his head as he stood in the crowd that day.
Ray Epps, who was filmed pushing the sign and directing people with the sign, was never charged for this same “crime” that Brad and at least seven others were sentenced for.
Ray Epps is seen pushing a massive Trump sign at police on Jan. 6 but was mysteriously not arrested for this act. 8 J6ers went to prison for years for touching that same sign.
Months after Brad’s arrest they decided to add on a very serious felony assault charge against him. He was devastated. Not only because of the extreme charge, but he has always respected law enforcement. This charge was due to a very large Trump sign being passed over dozens and dozens of people and Brad also touched the sign for 7 seconds as it passed by. The sign never injured anyone but did eventually go into a line of police and was placed on the ground.
What is even more upsetting is that Ray Epps is seen on several video clips touching this sign and was never charged at all for it.
Brad spent 13 months on home confinement before sentencing, then he was sentenced to 41 months in prison but with good time he ended up spending 20 months in federal prison, now he is finishing his sentence in a halfway house and after he completes that he will have 3 years of probation. His crime was attending a protest for President Trump.

And so, we’ve come to the point where the much-fought-about ‘Minerals deal’ seems to finally be about to be signed by the US and Ukraine.
The news was first broken by a top Ukrainian official that ‘a memorandum’ has been signed with Commerce Secretary Scott Besset.

“Ukraine and the United States on Thursday signed a memorandum as an initial step towards the clinching of an agreement on developing minerals in Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine’s first deputy prime minister and economy minister, said.
‘We are happy to announce the signing, with our American partners, of a Memorandum of Intent, which paves the way for an Economic Partnership Agreement and the establishment of the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine’, Svyrydenko wrote on the social media platform X.”

Trump about Zelensky: ‘I’m not a big fan.’
After that, US President Donald J. Trump announced that the US will sign the ‘Minerals Deal’ with Ukraine next Thursday.
The Telegraph reported:
“Speaking at an Oval Office press conference alongside Giorgia Meloni, the Italian prime minister, he told reporters: ‘We have a minerals deal’.”
This deal has faced a bumpy road in its development. After Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky backtracked once on a negotiated draft, his team insisted with Trump administration that he be received in the White House, where they were to sign a second version. But instead, the Kiev regime’s leader chose to set himself on fire at the Oval Office and pick up a public fight with both Trump and VP JD Vance.
The Ukrainian delegation was subsequently ordered to leave the White House.
“On Thursday night, Mr. Trump said ‘I’m not a big fan’ of Mr. Zelensky, but insisted he did not hold him responsible for the war with Russia.
‘I’m not blaming him, but what I am saying is that I wouldn’t say he’s done the greatest job. I’m not a big fan. I’m not happy with him, and I’m not happy with anybody involved’, Mr. Trump said.”

Details are still being worked out, but Scott Bessent, the US treasury secretary, said it’s pretty much the same as the last version.
“I think it’s an 80-page agreement and that’s what will be signed,” he said.
A deal between Washington and Kyiv would allow the US to have privileged access to mine Ukraine’s natural resources and critical minerals, which Mr. Trump views as a repayment for military aid provided to Kyiv under Joe Biden.”

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni clapped back at reporters and dropped a powerful new populist slogan on Thursday at the White House. Before stepping into the Oval Office, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with President Trump and his cabinet to talk trade. The press showed up eager to ignite a headline, hoping for signs of a looming tariff war between the U.S. and the EU.
But Meloni didn’t take the bait.
Instead of grandstanding, she delivered a steady, confident show of diplomacy—and extended a personal invitation to President Trump.
When a reporter tried to stir the pot, asking, “The retaliatory tariffs that the European Commission passed and then suspended, are they still on the table if you cannot make a deal with President Trump?”—Meloni didn’t blink.
“I am sure we can make a deal,” she said.
She made it clear she wasn’t there on behalf of Brussels. Her focus was on building trust. “I’m here to help on that. I cannot, look, deal in the name of the European Union,” she explained.
“My goal would be to invite President Trump to pay a visit to Italy and understand if there’s a possibility when he comes to organize also such a meeting with Europe.”
Her approach was refreshingly direct. Skip the drama. Talk straight. Find common ground. “I think the best way is that we simply speak frankly about the needs that everyone has, and find ourselves in the middle for—that’s useful for all,” she said.
Asked about her politics, she didn’t back away. “Somebody calls me such a ‘Western nationalism,’ I don’t know if it is the right words, but I’m sure that together we are stronger.”
And she left with a message that couldn’t be clearer: “And I have to find a way—I’m here to find the best way to make us both stronger on both sides of the Atlantic.”

A reporter accused him of calling Europeans “parasites,” asking, “Are you sure about the definition of parasite? Would you say that again? That Europeans are parasites?”
