REPORT: Joe Biden is Trying to Charge $300K to Give Speeches But No One is Buying

Joe Biden is obviously trying to take a page out the Bill and Hillary Clinton playbook by charging massive fees to give speeches but no one is buying what he is selling.

His disastrous performance at Harvard this week may have been an attempt to kick off this latest venture but it clearly isn’t working.

Apparently, there isn’t much of a market for angry, yelling, incoherent babbling speeches from former presidents who have difficulty forming sentences.

The New York Post reports:

Joe Biden ‘having trouble booking gigs’ with $300K per speech asking price

It’s not just Biden family artwork that’s struggling to sell these days.

Former President Joe Biden’s attempt to bill $300,000 per speaking appearance is finding few takers, The Post has learned — as some of his own former aides say it’s time for the 82-year-old to leave the spotlight for good after reminiscing about “colored kids” Tuesday in his first public address since leaving office.

A source familiar with Biden’s faltering speaking career said that the 46th president’s standard pitch is $300,000 — 25% below Barack Obama’s $400,000 asking price upon leaving office in 2017.

It’s unclear how negotiable Biden’s rate is.

If travel is required, a private jet and expenses for five staffers also is expected for Biden, who has been repped since early February by the Creative Artists Agency.

“CAA is having trouble booking gigs, which isn’t surprising,” the tipster said.

Is anyone surprised by this?

No one wants to say it, but the reason he isn’t getting the usual grift from the Donk Machine is because they don’t want their faces rubbed in their shameless coverup of his infirmity. https://t.co/rrk29rNLPK

How else is old Joe going to keep the Biden family grift going if he can’t charge outrageous speaking fees?

Ambassador Mike Huckabee Places Prayer from President Trump in Western Wall of Jerusalem on Good Friday, Vows “Iran Will Never Have a Nuclear Weapon”

On this historic Good Friday, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has assumed his post and visited the Western Wall of the Temple Mount, depositing a prayer written by President Donald J. Trump in the wall. “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,” Huckabee stressed.

Visiting the HaKotel (Western Wall) was the ambassador’s first action in Jerusalem, less than 24 hours after arriving to take up his post, even before he presented his credentials to Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

“As you heard from being at the wall a moment ago on this, my very first day as the Ambassador to the state of Israel, it was such an honor and an incredible privilege to place on behalf of the President of the United States, President Donald J. Trump, a prayer that he wrote in his own hand and initialed, handed to me in person last Thursday at the White House with the hope that I would bring it and place it in the Wall, with the best wishes and the prayers of the American people for the peace of Jerusalem and for the return of the hostages. So I have done that with an extraordinary sense of honor, joy, and also a sense of great responsibility,” Huckabee said.

“The relationship between the United States and Israel is not ceremonial,” Huckabee said. “It is deep. It is rooted in our love of democracy, in our love of the Judeo-Christian understanding that every life has worth and value. And it is one of the reasons that the president prays that every hostage will be released immediately. And it’s why I wear this (yellow ribbon) on my lapel today. But I want to express my appreciation to the Rabbi (Shmuel Rabinowitz) and to all the people who accommodated our visit here today. But also, I really do come with a sense of hope and optimism that God will do great things here in this holy city.”

Asked about the fate of the hostages, Huckbee remarked that “I don’t have any updates that I’m authorized to release. All I can tell you is that every effort continues to be made for every hostage to be released, those who are living and those who remains are still in Gaza as a result of the horrific massacre that was inflicted upon the Israeli people and several American citizens as well.”

Commenting on his relationship with President Trump, Huckabee said that “As you may know, the ambassador doesn’t make the policy. He carries it out. So I tell people I’m not a chemist. I’m a pharmacist. Somebody else named the President who was elected, he’ll be the one who will make the formula. He will give it to me and I will dispense it. So when those instructions come, I’ll be here to deliver them.”

Asked about his relationship with his host government, Huckabee said, “I would never try to inflict my view upon the Israeli government. They’re dealing with very challenging circumstances. I have great respect for what they’re trying to get done and the manner in which they’re getting it done. And so I’m not going to second-guess their efforts whatsoever. It would be inappropriate for me as a representative of the U.S. government to evaluate what the Israeli government is doing.”

Huckabee has visited the Holy Land more than 100 times since 1973 with thousands of US Christians, and remarked on being the first Evangelical Pastor to serve as Ambassador to the Holy Land:

“It gives me an extraordinary sense of personal joy to have been named by the President as an Evangelical Christian believer to take this post. And to be honest, I was a little concerned that maybe there would be some resistance to that, on behalf of Israeli people and Jewish people. But what I found is that just the opposite. And many people, my Jewish friends, have expressed this over and again, that if I were Jewish and came as ambassador, they’d say, ‘Well, of course, he supports Israel. He’s Jewish, he doesn’t have a choice.’ I say to them: I have a choice, and I make my choice to support Israel and show my friendship – that has existed, by the way, for 52 years from my very first trip here, which was in 1973, when I was a month shy of my 18th birthday. So I’ve been here (at the Western Wall) probably several dozen of the times that I’ve been here, and it never grows old. I never get to the point where I don’t learn something. I never get to the point where I don’t experience something, being in this very magnificent place.”

Regarding the conflict in Gaza,. Huckabee said that “If Hamas had been a civil people, if they had been something less than savages that massacred in the most vicious way innocent civilians – they did not attack soldiers, they attacked civilians. They attacked women, children, babies, helpless elderly people. They brought this upon themselves.”

“Everything that people see there is not the result of anything other than the vicious hatred that Hamas harbored and carried out on October the 7th. And they are paying the price. And tragically so many innocent people are paying the price for the sins and the evil of these monsters of Hamas.”

“Israel is an incredibly important ally to us, and people sometimes only think that Israel benefits from the United States”, Huckabee said. “The truth is the United States benefits a great deal from Israel, and not just militarily. We certainly benefit from the technology, from the innovation, from defense systems which were developed here. But there’s a much more important and long-lasting side of where Americans benefit. In agriculture, technology, medical advancement. So it is not a one-way street. The United States and its citizens are directly the beneficiaries of some of the extraordinary achievements and accomplishments and innovations of people here in Israel.”

President Trump “has made very clear: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. They will not be in a position where they can threaten the peace, not just of Israel, but all the people of the rest of the world. Let’s never forget that the Iranians have not simply threatened Israel with extinction – which they have repeatedly over 46 years – they have also threatened the United States. They don’t just say ‘Death to Israel,’ they say ‘Death to America.’ And there’s an old saying that when people tell you over and again that they’re going to kill you, you might want to take them seriously.”

“So I don’t think this is just about Israel. Israel has often been called the Little Satan and the US the Great Satan. I’ll put it in simpler terms: For the Iranians, Israel is the appetizer and the US is the entrée. Whatever happens at the hands of the Iranians to Israel is the intended happening to those of us in the United States.”

WATCH: Tom Homan Blows Up Kaitlan Collins When She Uses an Old Court Ruling to Defend MS-13 Gangster Abrego Garcia

Credit: CNN screenshot

Since President Trump returned to the Oval Office, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins has had a rough go of it. Things did not get better for her Thursday night when she decided to invite border czar Tom Homan on her show to discuss the most infamous MS-13 gangster in the world.

As TGP readers know, the Trump administration recently sent Kilmer Abrego Garcia, who illegally entered America in 2011, back to his home country.

The administration cited two court rulings that found that he was an MS-13 gang member.

This made him both a designated foreign terrorist and an illegal alien despite an activist immigration judge issuing a 2019 ruling allowing him to remain in Maryland based on fears for his safety.

At the time, El Salvador was one of the most violent countries in the world, but now it is the safest in the Western Hemisphere.

The Supreme Court has since ordered the Trump administration to ‘facilitate ‘Abrego Garcia’s return. This ruling came after an Obama judge demanded the administration not just “facilitate” but also “effectuate’ the man’s return.

However, Abrego Garcia remains in El Salvador despite the Supreme Court ruling because the country’s president, Nayib Bukele, has repeatedly ruled out shipping him back to America.

During her interview with Homan, Collins closely relied on the long-ago and outdated ruling in 2019 to make her case that the Trump Administration screwed up. But her strategy unsurprisingly blew up in her face.

“I’ve seen some people look at this and say they’re worried that the stance of this administration when it comes to this is if someone is deported by accident, they have no responsibility for them once they are in the custody of a foreign government. What would you say to that?” Collins asked Homan.

The border czar responded by repeating the facts of the case to Collins as if she were a first-grader.

“Well, he’s in the custody of El Salvador; he’s an El Salvadoran national,” Homan replied. “El Salvador has him in custody…The El Salvadoran president has made it clear he’s not going to release him.”

“The DOJ is going to fight this out…The courts will decide what the next steps will be,” he continued.

Undeterred, Collins brought up the 2019 immigration judge’s ruling, conveniently ‘forgetting’ several facts have changed, including El Salvador’s crime rate and the fact that Abrego Garcia has since been designated a terrorist.

“Even though it was an immigration judge that said the one place he can’t go is El Salvador, he could have been deported anywhere else…” Collins protested before Homan quickly interjected.

He proceeded to shut the CNN hack down completely.

— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) April 18, 2025

“We keep going back and back…That was years ago, the country was different,” Homan fired back. “That gang no longer exists in El Salvador.”

“He has been designated a terrorist since that time,” the border czar added. “Two different federal judges said he’s an MS-13 member. A police department said he’s an MS-13 member. ICE data shows he’s an MS-13 member. El Salvador said he’s an MS-13 member.”

“As you know, MS-13 has been designated a terrorist organization. The facts of the case have changed since that first decision.”

The Delayed Democratic Majority

The Delayed Democratic Majority

America is headed for one-party progressive rule.

Demographics are destiny.

That idea lay at the heart of the 2002 book The Emerging Democratic Majority, which argued that racial-demographic transformation, among other factors, was producing a political realignment that favored America’s Blue Team. The authors—John Judis and Ruy Teixeira—were pleased with their findings. All good liberals were.

The book freaked out Republicans and gave Democrats confidence that irreversible victory was possible, if not inevitable. As whites became a minority, many liberals believed, so too would Republican voters.

But then Donald Trump happened. His surprise defeat of Hillary Clinton in 2016 suggested that a “white lash” was wrecking Democrats’ hopes for one-party rule. Eight years later, Trump’s decisive reelection victory—winning all battleground states and gaining support from all racial minority groups—seemed to discredit the Judis-Teixeira theory more fundamentally. Smart Democrats pored over polling crosstabs and concluded they’d actually have to persuade voters if they wanted to win elections. Republicans, reassured that the browning of America didn’t mean the waning of their power, breathed sighs of relief.

So wide is the consensus that The Emerging Democratic Majority was wrong that even its authors have recanted. The book “laid out an overly optimistic forecast of the party’s prospects in an increasingly diverse America,” Judis wrote in 2017. This year, Judis warned his fellow liberals that Republicans may have the upper hand for the next decade. Judging by the national mood, Judis’s reversal seems warranted. The Democratic Party is demoralized and deeply unpopular. Republicans are exuberant. Everybody, apparently, thinks the GOP can continue stomping the DNC for many years to come.

This consensus view is mistaken. Absent significant changes to fertility rates and immigration patterns—changes that do not appear to be forthcoming—the Democrats are on track to achieve electoral dominance in the years ahead. The “emerging Democratic majority” hasn’t been disproven, but deferred.

Consider the 2024 presidential election. While many conservatives have hailed the “multiracial working-class movement” that Trump purportedly amassed, the great bulk of his voters—84 percent—were as white as the house he now occupies. That number is not far off from Mitt Romney’s 88 percent in 2012. Romney won whites by 20 points—a wider margin than any presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan—and many critics blamed his electoral loss on a failure to draw minority support. Yet Trump, whose voters were only moderately less white, has won praise for appealing to minorities.

The drop in the white share of the Republican vote does not indicate a surge in the GOP’s popularity among non-whites. Rather, it is mostly a function of the diminishing white percentage of the voting population, from 84 percent in 1980 to 66 percent in 2020. Thanks to high turnout from working-class whites, last year the white share of voters seems to have jumped for the first time since the early 1990s, though only by a few points. But as a share of the eligible electorate, whites have been in continuous decline. Non-whites accounted for an astounding 76 percent of the increase in the population of eligible voters from 2000 to 2018. Under Trump, Team Red is still very white compared to the overall electorate.

Kamala Harris, by contrast, assembled in 2024 an actual multiracial coalition. Her voters were 66 percent white, 18 percent black, 11 percent Hispanic, and 5 percent other. That’s more in line with the country’s demographics, which are changing rapidly. Americans under 18 became minority white in 2020, and the U.S. population is projected to do so by 2044. Less than a decade after that, around 2052, the electorate will become “majority-minority,” i.e., mostly non-white.

Republicans may struggle to win the White House starting several years before then, for a simple reason: While whites—unlike blacks, Hispanics, and Asians—lean Republican, they tend to be more evenly divided than other racial groups. In recent decades, college-educated white professionals have been more likely than working-class whites without a degree to vote Democratic, a split that has widened in the Trump era. Every time the GOP loses a presidential election, Republican strategists insist the party should focus on minority outreach, rather than on consolidating the white vote, and they see potential in a particular non-white group: Hispanics.

Much has been made of Trump’s gains among Hispanics in 2024, but Republican optimism (and Democratic anxieties) are overblown. According to a widely cited exit poll by Edison Research, Trump won 46 percent of Hispanics in 2024, two points more than George W. Bush did in 2004. Of course, 46 is close enough to 50 to raise hopes among Republicans, but caution is warranted.

A coalition of progressive nonprofits has contested the Edison number and sponsored a poll—conducted by Harvard University—that found that only 37 percent of Hispanics voted for Trump, far below 46. The true number is likely somewhere in between. AP VoteCast, a comprehensive survey of more than 120,000 voters, says that Trump garnered 43 percent of the Hispanic vote, which is consistent with polls from the final weeks of the campaign. That would be one point fewer than under Bush.

Excited talk of “increasing Hispanic support for Republicans” is exaggerated, if not outright false. The faulty impression arises not only from a fixation on one suspect poll, but also from the tendency of political analysts to compare Trump’s 2024 performance to 1) his dismal numbers among minorities in the two previous elections and 2) John McCain’s and Romney’s own dismal numbers against Barack Obama, whom non-whites found uniquely appealing. Last year, Trump didn’t bring together a historic and diverse coalition; he just brought the GOP back to its Bush numbers.

Indeed, Trump may have merely replicated the relative success among Hispanics of Ronald Reagan. “Reagan got as high as 47 percent of the Hispanic vote in one poll taken in 1984,” observed Judis and Teixeira in their book. That ABC News/Washington Post poll was an outlier—36 percent seems more likely—but Reagan undoubtedly made inroads into the Hispanic vote. Yet in subsequent elections, moderate Hispanics who had voted for the Gipper returned to the Democratic fold, for reasons that are well understood by political scientists.

Compared to blacks, who began bloc-voting for the Democratic Party during the civil rights era of the 1960s, Hispanics are driven less by identity and more by economic issues. They have favored the Democrats since 1972 if not earlier, but in elections taking place during times of economic trouble—including the inflation-ravaged Biden years—Hispanics flirt with the GOP if they prefer its candidate on the economy, as they did in 2024. Still, at least a slim majority still vote blue, and four years later, a fat majority will. Today, Hispanics seem likely to sustain the pattern in 2028. Since Trump’s inauguration in January, his approval rating among Hispanics has plummeted amid growing economic pessimism, dipping to the mid-30s.

In a message to me, Steve Sailer, the legendary socio-political commentator, compared Republicans’ glass-half-full view of Hispanics to a business joke: “Our prices are so low we lose money on each item we sell, but we make up for it on volume.” While Sailer acknowledged the possibility that a majority of Hispanic voters will back the GOP in future elections, he summed up the current situation thus: “If you used to lose 67–33 among some rapidly growing immigrant group and now you lose only 57–43, well, you’ve impressively blunted the bleeding, as it were, but the Great Replacement is still not working in your favor.”

How did Trump do among other minority groups in 2024? Not very well. Trump lost Asians by a margin of 15 points and blacks by 73, according to exit polls. That’s better than Trump, Romney, and McCain did previously but approximates what Bush achieved. Yes, Trump made gains among Asians and blacks—but he still got clobbered.

Given the persistence of racial gaps in voting, non-white immigration is set to put electoral victory beyond the reach of Republicans at the national level. Barring an unforeseen social transformation, another factor will compound the problem: fertility rates. Whites are making fewer babies than the national average, trailing far behind Hispanics and slightly behind blacks. Even if all immigration stopped today, the white share of the population would continue to decline.

Whites do have a higher fertility rate than Asians, who nonetheless have experienced the highest population growth among racial groups in recent decades, thanks to an immigration boom. Asians have had stiff competition: During the Trump years alone, from 2016 to 2024, the number of eligible Hispanic voters increased from 27 million to 36.

Trump deserves credit for twice winning the White House amid such adverse demographic circumstances, but both victories were exceedingly unlikely. In 2016, Trump became only the fifth presidential candidate in U.S. history to win the electoral college despite losing the popular vote. In 2024, he became the first Republican to win the popular vote in 20 years, though he still got less than 50 percent.

Moreover, neither of the candidates Trump defeated was particularly strong, to put it mildly. Harris was installed as candidate by party elites at the 11th hour. She then proceeded to run a bad campaign that overemphasized “saving democracy” at the expense of inflation and immigration, the problems that voters actually cared about. As vice president, Harris inherited the drawbacks but not the benefits of incumbency, since she was blamed for high prices and southern-border chaos but hadn’t gotten the chance to demonstrate presidential leadership.

Yet Harris almost eked out a victory. Incredibly, Trump won the popular vote by a smaller margin than did Hillary Clinton in 2016. True, he won all seven battleground states, but not by much, cracking 51 percent only in Arizona. Future Republican candidates will confront even stronger demographic headwinds than Trump did and probably will face more formidable opponents. The Arizona electorate, for example, will tip majority non-white around 2038.

What is to be done?

In 2000, Steve Sailer proposed an electoral strategy that has come to be associated with his name. Reacting to Bush’s popular-vote loss and slim electoral-college win, Sailer pushed back against the conventional wisdom that Republicans should reach out to Hispanics. The Sailer Strategy holds instead that the Republican Party should try winning even more whites, whom Sailer called “by far the dominant bloc in the U.S.”

Sailer was right. The main reason that the emergence of a lasting Democratic majority has been deferred is that working-class whites migrated to the GOP, against the expectations of Judis and Teixeira in 2002. But today, whites are a much less dominant share of the electorate than in the early 2000s, and in each of the 50 states, the bloc is only shrinking. Going forward, the GOP needs a qualified version of Sailer’s electoral game plan. Call it the “Smooth Sailer Strategy.”

The updated strategy still dictates that the GOP should prioritize candidates, policies, and rhetoric that appeal to whites. The difference is that, under the Smooth Sailer Strategy, overtures to whites should also attract winnable voters from one or more minority groups, or at least avoid repelling them without some compensating benefit. A push to eliminate all vestiges of affirmative action, for example, might galvanize whites and Asians, the groups that suffer from discriminatory policies. And since affirmative action is fairly unpopular even among blacks and Hispanics, it is an ideal policy for Republicans to make a bugaboo.

A GOP that implemented the Smooth Sailer Strategy could—and should—still advocate restricting immigration, as Sailer had recommended. Trump’s performance last year showed that the GOP can oppose mass migration—indeed, can even pass out rally signs that say “Mass Deportations Now!”—without scaring away immigrant groups. The GOP could try peeling conservative blacks away from the Democratic Party by emphasizing that illegal immigration lowers blacks’ wages. Tackling immigration would succeed not only at the level of campaign strategy, but also governance. In 2011, Sailer laid out the basics of a long-term Sailer Strategy for Republicans: “You want more of the kind of people likely to vote for your party in the country and fewer of the kind of people likely to vote for the other party.”

Of course, no one knows for sure how Hispanics and other minorities (or whites for that matter) will vote in the years and decades ahead. In the 1940s, George Orwell lambasted the mental tendency of James Burnham, a Trotskyite-turned-conservative, to predict “a continuation of the thing that is happening.” Republicans who expect to turn the GOP into a multiracial coalition might accuse my analysis in this essay of suffering from the same defect. Sure, minorities have historically favored the Democrats, but no iron law of politics dictates this must remain the case. The future is wide open! The sky is the limit!

Maybe. But Orwell’s admonition cuts both ways. No doubt, the 2024 election brought a redshift among Hispanics, and hopeful Republicans and panicked Democrats envision a continuation of the trend. On the other hand, non-white voters have favored the Democratic Party since the New Deal. Which of these things do you suppose is more likely to continue?

J6 Patriot Josh Pruitt Releases Powerful New Book: “Trumped Up” – A Raw Account of January 6th, Prison, and Redemption

By Guest Contributor Daniel Goodwyn

Josh Pruitt is no stranger to hardship. A proud patriot, Josh stood firm in his convictions on January 6, 2021, and paid dearly for it—nearly three years in one of the most dangerous federal prisons in America. But now, he’s taking his story into his own hands with the release of his brand-new book, “Trumped Up: My Journey Through America: January 6th | Prison | Pardon | Redemption.”

Get the book on Amazon here:

Josh’s brutally honest and eye-opening memoir gives readers an unfiltered look at what the Biden regime doesn’t want you to know. From the moment he entered the Capitol on January 6th to the night he was released from FCI—a violent, gang-infested prison with no other J6ers around—Josh shares every detail.

“I sat in prison at FCI, which is one of the most dangerous federal prisons and is infested with gangs. Only two prisons hold MS-13. We were one of them,” Josh told The Gateway Pundit in a previous interview. “There were people being murdered, stabbed, and raped where I was, and I had to always watch my back.”

Josh was sentenced to 55 months for “obstruction of an official proceeding,” and spent his time surviving abuse, isolation, and the trauma that came with being a political prisoner in Joe Biden’s America. Thanks to President Donald J. Trump, Josh was fully pardoned and released on January 21st. Since then, he has been rebuilding his life from the ground up—with nothing but the shirt on his back.

In Trumped Up, Josh lays it all out. The pain, the loss, the betrayal, and the hope. He doesn’t hold back—and his story stands as a testament to resilience, patriotism, and God’s grace.

But it hasn’t been easy. Since his release, Josh relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, to be surrounded by conservative values and like-minded patriots. Then came more challenges—his bicep tore, requiring surgery and putting him in a sling for 6 to 8 weeks. On top of that, he’s had no contact with his children due to legal and personal complications.

Josh is still in the fight. He’s been doing podcasts and speaking engagements to share the truth of what really happened on January 6th and what the federal government did to him and so many others. And now, Trumped Up gives readers the full picture—directly from a man who lived it.

Josh’s book is also now listed at StopHate.com’s growing library of J6er books, where more brave patriots are telling their stories and exposing the truth about the Deep State’s war on freedom-loving Americans.

Despite the pardon, Josh still faces daily battles. He’s trying to rebuild a life shattered by tyranny, regain basic necessities like food, transportation, and identification, and heal from the trauma he endured. His GiveSendGo fundraiser is still ongoing, and he needs our support.

HELP JOSH REBUILD HIS LIFE HERE

As reported in a previous article, “Josh Pruitt: Rebuilding a J6er’s Life After a Trump Pardon – How You Can Help” (Read here), this man has been through hell and back—and still stands tall with his faith in God and President Trump unshaken.

This book is not just a read—it’s a call to action. A reminder of what we’ve lost and what we’re fighting for.

Robert Fico’s Slovakia Moves Against Shady Soros-Funded NGOs With Legislation Ramping up Regulation

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico

Recently, many nations have enacted tougher legislation to control the activity of shady NGOs receiving foreign funding and interfering with the political life of countries.

Belarus, Russia, Hungary, Georgia, Bosnia, Kyrgyzstan, India, China, Egypt and Uganda have been reported to implement new laws – and now its Slovakia’s turn.

In a country where Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot multiple times by a pro-Ukraine opposition militant, the parliament has yesterday (16) approved a law tightening the reporting and other requirements for non-governmental organizations.

As we would expect, the changes were decried by these organizations, that call it a ‘Russian law’ and accuse the government of settling scores with ‘critics’.

Reuters reported:

“The law orders non-governmental organizations to detail their donors and publish wide lists of officials, and introduces fines for administrative errors.

The government, led by pro-Russian Prime Minister Robert Fico, has long accused non-governmental organizations of supporting the liberal opposition and foreign interests, taking aim at those getting funding from a foundation set up by U.S. philanthropist George Soros.”

George Soros-funded NGOs are under scrutiny in Slovakia. / Photo by Michael Wuertenberg

Fico blamed these Globalist organizations for ‘planning to escalate peaceful public protests’ against his government’s policies.

“’Non-governmental organizations are a grey zone, they do politics, draw money from around the world and no one knows what they do with it’, ruling party SMER-SSD Richard Glück told a news conference on Monday.

Fico’s party had originally planned more far-reaching changes, including labelling non-government organizations as ‘organizations with foreign support’ like those in Russia or Georgia, provoking a warning from the European Commission.”

Liberal-Globalist opposition in Slovakia protests new law.

Even the tamed version of the law is causing a meltdown in Slovakia and across the EU.

“Non-governmental organizations have said the law was meant to intimidate, could breach constitutional rights and went against rulings by Europe’s Court of Justice.”

U.S. jets are hammering Houthi targets in Yemen. The campaign is meant to stop Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, which began in October 2023 after the start of the Israel–Hamas war. Since then, the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group alone has expended over 770 munitions to degrade and deter the Houthis. That number includes 155 Standard-series missiles—almost as many as the U.S. produces each year.

At a time when the U.S. faces a threat environment worse than anything it’s seen since WWII, this should serve as a stark reminder of the sheer inadequacy of the American defense industrial base (DIB).

Increasing DIB output isn’t just a strategic necessity, but an economic opportunity. Workers, including veterans and young people, can benefit from an increased number of manufacturing jobs—if the federal and state governments take the steps necessary for such an industrial program to succeed.

In order to create defense manufacturing jobs, it is important to realign the DIB’s broken incentive structure, a proposition outlined in a recent report, co-authored by me, from The Heritage Foundation.

As we explain in the report, the congressional appropriations process is inconsistent, which creates unpredictability for industry. This inconsistency deters defense manufacturers from investing in new manufacturing capacity and workers.

One way to create a sustained demand signal is for Congress to authorize an output-based grant program. Under such a scheme, the Department of Defense (DoD) would set target production capacity numbers per year. Whenever procurement fell short of the target capacity for a given year, the DoD would issue a grant covering the fixed costs involved in maintaining latent capacity.

For example, if the DoD wanted a manufacturer to produce 300 Tomahawk missiles in a year, but it only ordered 250 in a given year, it would grant the manufacturer an amount equal to the costs associated with maintaining the latent capacity to produce the 50 unordered missiles. This would mean that the manufacturer wouldn’t lose money by maintaining that latent capacity, removing the incentive to reduce—and in the future not build—new capacity and workforce.

But creating new jobs in the defense manufacturing base won’t achieve much if there aren’t workers to fill them. Currently, the U.S. suffers from a significant shortage of workers for the manufacturing base—something partially attributable to the decay of America’s educational system.

Solving this problem requires training more workers and restoring accountability to post-secondary education, especially in trades and degrees relevant to the defense industrial base.

One way to do this is by states adopting returned-value formulas. Such formulas, already in use by the Texas Technical College system, distribute funding based on student outcomes like post-graduation earnings. By structuring school funding this way, states can incentivize educational institutions to teach the skills most relevant to success in the workforce—something that would benefit both workers and job creators.

Another way to ensure there are enough skilled workers for the DIB—and also to help veterans—is by improving SkillBridge, a DoD program that eases transition to civilian life by allowing members of the military to work and acquire skills at approved private companies toward the end of their service.

Currently, companies aren’t allowed to reimburse servicemembers for housing or transportation relevant to participation in SkillBridge unless all their workers are offered that benefit. This biases participation in SkillBridge to companies located near military bases.

SkillBridge should be revised to allow employers to reimburse SkillBridge participants for costs associated with participation. This will not only increase the size of the defense industrial base workforce, but also increase veteran employment.

In the DOGE era, minimizing taxpayer burden is vital. Fortunately, both widespread adoption of returned-value formulas at the state level and SkillBridge modifications are cost-neutral and pro-growth. And while output-based grant programs may entail some short-term costs, the long-term savings from increased predictability will at least partially (if not fully) offset those costs.

The economic benefits that these changes would provide would be in addition to the national security advantages. In an increasingly perilous world, it’s paramount that the U.S. fosters a DIB capable of providing for America’s defense.

However, success in this endeavor hinges on action by policymakers to fix the DIB’s broken incentive structure and fix America’s broken education system. To protect our country, we must do better.

Trump Should Just Set a Ukraine Ceasefire Date

Trump Should Just Set a Ukraine Ceasefire Date

The president is apparently frustrated that European states are sabotaging his peace process with Russia. There is a simple solution to that.

Immediately prior to the Munich Security Conference, the Trump administration did what might be considered a quiet diplomatic masterstroke. It sent letters to European capitals asking them two specific questions: What they would be willing to provide to Ukraine, in order to contribute to the negotiation process and to be, in their own words, the adults in the room? And what they would be interested in doing, once the war ends, provided that the U.S. isn’t willing to provide peacekeeping forces to keep the peace in Ukraine?

The result was chaotic, from European condescension about American isolationism and unilateralism—even though they are somewhat contradictory—to a European attempt towards a “coalition of the willing” trip-wire force to provide peacekeeping in Ukraine post-armistice, which has not so far materialized due to the minor but notable disadvantage of American unwillingness to oversee the process.

Yet the Europeans have managed to do something to wreck the peace process so far. While they cannot wage the war, they are perfectly capable of continuing to fund Ukrainian war aims, and thus far they have continued to do so, frustrating the American attempts towards a grand bargain with Russia. A recent report from the Economist demonstrates this tension:

Another sign of the times is that Pentagon figures recently questioned one ally about why it was still supplying weapons to Ukraine—a challenge that was ignored. Diplomats in Washington also report that some Trump aides say privately that they are “fed up” with Europe’s effort to strengthen Ukraine.

It shouldn’t be so, but it is, for a few reasons. The administration wanted an easy win in Ukraine, but the president is hamstrung by two competing interests in this case. In his own cabinet, other than Vice President J.D. Vance and his special envoy Steve Witkoff, no one seems to share his appetite for a grand bargain with Russia and a retrenchment from Europe. In fact, time and time again it appears he is being second-guessed by everyone from Secretary of State Marco Rubio to National Security Advisor Mike Waltz to the special envoy Keith Kellogg, almost all of whom are more hawkish on Russia than the president. The bellum omnium contra omnes onslaught against Europe on trade didn’t help either. Sticks should usually be accompanied by carrots. Instead, his tariff hostility was all sticks and no carrots, and resulted in Europe banding together to frustrate his peace initiative with Russia.

Finally, the Russians don’t trust Americans anyway, and are rightly worried about American domestic volatility and public passions; any peace deal negotiated by this administration might be discarded by the next without an act of Congress. As Hans Morgenthau noted, a rational grand strategy of a great power is incompatible with public passions. Autocratic states do not face that issue, and can determine their long-term grand strategy without having to worry about public opinion. Democratic states cannot do that without a treaty or an act of legislature. Trump is therefore at a disadvantage, trying to navigate diplomacy in a feudal way, but from within the confines of a legislative democracy.

Nevertheless, there is a way out. There are two logical ways to regain the peace momentum. First is the current approach, in which negotiations are ongoing while the war continues. One cannot be very optimistic about the end result. The process has too many cooks who can spoil the broth. A simpler solution is to set a date for a ceasefire—the Korean War or First World War model of peace. President Trump needs a win before the midterms. He can order his envoys to send another letter to European capitals, Kiev, and Moscow, setting a date for a ceasefire.

July 4, American Independence Day, is a good date. The process is simple. There will be a ceasefire and troop pullout from both sides, creating what would be a de facto DMZ along the line of contact. The occupied areas by Russia will remain as they are. The U.S. will stop any further aid, martial or financial, to Ukraine. The war will stop on a date and time fixed, similar to the First World War, and the negotiations will continue after about a future order and peacekeeping. If either Europe or Russia refuses to follow through, the U.S. will follow the advice of one of the greatest IR grand-strategists of this country, Kelly Clarkson, and “just walk away.”

The structural reality is this: Europe isn’t capable of continuing the war without America, and, without America, European unity will split. If the Europeans do attempt to continue the war, the burden of the peace process should be on them as well. On the other hand, Russia is incapable of conquering the entirety of Ukraine.

It is not an American burden to bring all parties to the table and satiate their whims and changing war aims. The American president came to power committing to peace in Ukraine, but more than that, his commitment was to extricating American from the conflicts in Europe and the Middle East. There’s no potential loss here for him. If there is a ceasefire, he can claim that he achieved peace as he promised, and any breakdown of the ceasefire in future will not be on him. If there is no ceasefire, he can still blame Europe and Russia for not accepting his peace overtures. In 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt made a “proclamation of neutrality” during the war between Russia and Japan, arguing that “the United States are on terms of friendship and amity with both the contending powers.” It was a beautiful strategy executed well; it eventually compelled Japan and Russia to seek American stewardship of the peace process. But in order for them to come to that point, the U.S. had to let them wage war for a while first without interfering. It is time to return to that sage wisdom. Just propose a fixed date and time for a ceasefire, and then walk away, Mr. President.

Comedian Tim Dillon on the Craziness of the Left – When Did Basic American Values Like Free Speech Become Right Wing?

Comedian Tim Dillon has become a bit of sensation over the last year. He interviewed JD Vance before the election and he frequently takes shots at woke culture.

Dillon recently spoke to FOX News and pointed out that the left has drifted so far out of the mainstream that basic American values like free speech are now considered ‘right wing’ by progressives.

This is one of the reasons why Democrats lost so badly in November and they have shown no signs of course correction.

From FOX News:

Tim Dillon says rebranding of core American values as ‘right-wing’ is the ‘craziest thing’ he’s ever heard

In a sit-down interview with Fox News Digital, Dillon was asked about the perceived shift to the right in comedians’ political views, with figures such as Joe Rogan endorsing President Donald Trump in the last election.

Dillon took issue with the observation, arguing that values comedians typically support today — such as free speech and advocating for the middle class — are not inherently right-wing.

“You know, when people call it a rightward shift, my pushback to that is: were these statements rightward in 2015 or 2005? When did they become right-wing statements? When did it become a right-wing statement to say, ‘I should have the bodily autonomy to not take an experimental vaccine?’” Dillon questioned.

The comedian continued: “When did it become a right-wing statement to say, ‘I don’t think the United States should be in wars?’ I remember these were left-wing statements. When did it become a right-wing statement to say that the United States should look after the middle class and workers instead of importing cheap labor so that the profits on Wall Street could go up? These are right-wing points? This is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

In another recent interview, Dillon talked about the role podcasts played in the 2024 election and how Democrats missed the boat. Watch:

Tim Dillon Calls Out Democrats For Blaming Podcasts They Are Afraid to Go On Themselves

“We had [JD] Vance came on our show. We immediately emailed Tim Walz … do you want to come on? No response. I just reached out to Bernie Sanders … doesn’t want to come on. Gavin Newsom… pic.twitter.com/MfrwyZd3rU

Democrats have allowed the radical left to dictate the direction of their party and it has been disastrous for them. As Dillon notes, free speech should not be considered right wing. It’s a basic American value.
