Starmer may undo the cut of fuel subsidy for poor pensioners.

Just between us: if Labour leader Keir Starmer had run in UK’s last General Elections with a platform of ‘cutting fuel subsidy for poor pensioners and releasing dangerous criminals from jail to make room’, he would never have achieved a landslide victory like he did.

But once elected, among many scandals and in parallel to other deranged Globalist policies, that’s exactly what he did.

Now, after getting crushed by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK in the latest local elections, Starmer is considering reinstating the winter fuel payment for thousands of pensioners ‘in a move to restore public goodwill.’

Everyone around him agrees that the decision last July to cut the winter fuel allowance from all but the very poorest pensioners has been a disaster.

The Guardian reported:

“Keir Starmer’s senior team has been discussing for several weeks how to handle public anger over the policy, which bubbled over in last Thursday’s local elections, when the party lost two-thirds of the council seats it was defending.”

A full reversal of the cut is not in the cards, but an increase in the threshold above which pensioners cease to be eligible for the allowance is reportedly becoming likely.

“Labour MPs have been piling pressure on the government to change its mind over the winter fuel payment, as well as its plans for £5bn benefit cuts, before a vote on ‘stage one’ of its welfare plans in early June.

[…] Labour party activists say the subject of benefits was raised repeatedly on the doorstep in the local elections across England and were a key factor in the party’s loss to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK at the Runcorn and Helsby parliamentary byelection.”

People on Starmer’s team know the discomfort with the policy permeates all levels of the party and is rife among voters.

“’People are saying we haven’t done enough for them on the cost of living, and winter fuel is an example of it going in the wrong direction’, one source said.

Another added: ‘The winter fuel cut has become totemic and talks to us being on the wrong side of working people. We need to show that’s not the case’.”

The Tennessee Star confirmed Tuesday that Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes—an already convicted human smuggler and repeat border violator—has admitted under immunity to hiring El Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia for a string of human trafficking operations across the United States.

The revelation follows a controversial 2022 Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) traffic stop where Abrego Garcia was caught transporting nine illegal immigrants through Tennessee without a license.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) pulled over Abrego-Garcia on November 30, 2022, for speeding and swerving. When troopers approached his vehicle, they were shocked to discover eight male passengers packed inside.

Initially claiming he was driving from St. Louis to his Maryland residence, he later said he was headed to another town for “construction work.”

All passengers gave the same address as Abrego-Garcia, yet there was no luggage in the vehicle—a red flag for human trafficking. The trooper noted $1,400 in cash on Abrego-Garcia, likely payment for smuggling, and an invalid Maryland driver’s license.

“He’s hauling these people for money,” one trooper said in the bodycam footage, obtained by Fox News Digital through a public records request.

When the trooper asked whose vehicle he was driving, Abrego-Garcia replied that it belonged to his “boss.”

Turns out, that so-called “boss” was none other than Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes—a convicted human trafficker. Reyes pleaded guilty to conspiring to smuggle illegal aliens across the country and was sentenced in 2020.  This bombshell was confirmed after The Tennessee Star got its hands on damning court documents.

Despite the overwhelming evidence — the cash, the fake Maryland driver’s license, the contradictory statements, the gang affiliation, and a pattern matching known trafficking operations — ICE failed to respond when contacted, according to Fox News.

After THP took Abrego-Garcia into custody, they contacted the FBI for guidance. In a move that defies logic, Joe Biden’s FBI ordered THP to release him.

Now, Hernandez Reyes—previously convicted of human trafficking in 2020 and deported after serving only 18 months—has resurfaced. Despite a court order banning his return to the U.S. for three years, he illegally reentered the country and is currently detained at the Federal Correctional Institution in Talladega, Alabama.

There, according to The Tennessee Star, DOJ attorneys offered him limited immunity in exchange for testimony against Garcia.

Hernandez Reyes reportedly told the DOJ officials that he met Abrego Garcia in 2015, just three years after the latter man reportedly admitted to illegally entering the United States.

After they met in 2015, the prisoner reportedly admitted to DOJ officials that he paid Abrego Garcia to transport illegal immigrants from Texas to various destinations throughout the United States.

The Star was first to report that Abrego Garcia was stopped by THP in 2022, when he was transporting nine people without a valid license, and the agency later confirmed it was instructed to release Abrego Garcia by the “Biden-era FBI.” DHS has additionally confirmed that troopers suspected Abrego Garcia of human trafficking during the stop.

Abrego Garcia is an El Salvador citizen who was deported by the Trump administration to his homeland in March. He claimed that the deportation violated the final deportation order issued in his immigration case in 2019, which contained a “withholding of removal” that specifically forbade his deportation to one of two nations, either Guatemala or El Salvador.

Body-worn camera footage released by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to The Star last week revealed Abrego Garcia was carrying $1,400 in cash at the time of the arrest. Hernandez Reyes was convicted of charging passengers $350 for transportation from Texas to other parts of the country.

Christopher Schurr was a Grand Rapids Police Officer who got into a fight with Patrick Lyoya in the early morning of on April 4, 2022. During the struggle, Lyoya fought Schurr for control of Officer Schurr’s Taser and was fatally shot by the Officer during the scuffle.

The jury, deliberating on the trial today, have reported to the judge that they are deadlocked in the case. The judge has asked them to continue deliberating.

Officer Schurr originally stopped the car driven by Lyoya because the license plate did not match the make and model of the vehicle. The case has become a media sensation because the victim, Lyoya, was a black immigrant, and the law enforcement Officer Schurr, is white.

At the time of his death, Lyoya’s driver’s license had been revoked and there was an active arrest warrant for him for a domestic violence case, details his family and supporters call “irrelevant.”

The local chapter of the NAACP agrees, Cle Jackson, President of the Greater Grand Rapids NAACP said, “Whatever he had, warrants, past run-ins with the law, it has no bearing on what happened in this case.”

Officer Schurr was charged in June 2022. The jury in his criminal case, chosen at random, is made up of 10 women and 4 men. 10 of the jurors are white, 3 are latino, and 1 is black. 1 juror is an immigrant.

It’s undisputed that Lyoya ran from and fought with the police. The main argument by defenders of the deceased is to complain that the fatal shot was to the back of the head. Their logic is that by shooting him in the back of the head, he was no longer resisting.

“He shot him in the back of the head … When you put a gun in somebody’s back of the head, there’s an intent to kill there,” Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker told the jury. The prosecutor has alleged that even though Lyoya was fighting for the Taser, that the fight was not worth the use of deadly force because Tasers are not lethal and did not pose a ‘dire threat’ to the officer and that there was ‘no evidence that Lyoya intended to harm’ Officer Schurr.

Tasers are lethal and have been connected to a significant number of deaths.

Officer Schurr claims he acted in self-defense.

The political left has a long history of trying to defend obviously guilty black criminals against white law enforcement officers, by creatively cherry-picking facts and using narrative framing to racialize common police encounters. In this way, the media and activists lied for years about the 2012 Trayvon Martin shooting in Sanford, Florida where activists lied about the background of Martin and the fight he started with George Zimmerman resulting in Zimmerman’s bloody head injuries. Similarly, the 2014 Mike Brown shooting in St. Louis was defined by lies about Brown saying “Hands up, Don’t Shoot!” which was not true. Radical left activists and judges were able to jail the McMichaels family in Georgia on both state and federal charges after the 2020 death of Ahmaud Arbery despite video evidence showing Arbery grabbing a shotgun and starting the fight that ended with his death. The 2020 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis set off riots across the country that resulted in an estimated $1-2 billion in damages, after activists claimed Floyd was suffocated by Officer Derek Chauvin’s knee to the back of his neck, even though Floyd had injested a fatal dose of Fentanyl and asked to be laid on the ground prior to Chauvin’s knee being put on Floyd’s shoulderblade. Chauvin was sentenced to 21 years in federal prison, and 22 1/2 years in state prison.

Left-wing activists have been busy building a narrative of perceived injustice against law enforcement based on these incidents that later prove to be factually flawed.

Surveys show that police recruitment is down 10% nationwide, and 70% of jurisdictions report significant trouble recruiting officers, the effect, many claim, to the left-wing racialization of law enforcement.

The bodycam deactivated prior to the final, fatal, shot fired by Schurr at Lyoya and restarted when emergency medical technicians were trying to revive Lyoya.

The decision to try Officer Schurr for second-degree murder, though the juror can consider a charge of voluntary manslaughter. The two crimes, under Michigan law, can carry penalties of life imprisonment, or, in the case of manslaughter, up to 15 years in a state prison.

Demonstrators outside the courthouse have already gotten physical today.

Every officer called to the stand has said that Schurr’s actions were reasonable.

Schurr’s police captain Chad McKersie testified and said, “We don’t have to wait for someone to hurt us to do something.” 

The media is trying to set the stage for another race hoax and city riots by stoking racial anger about the case.

Lyoya’s family is also suing Schurr for $100 million in a related civil case.

Judge Christina Mims has ignored the law to allow what state right-leaning blogs call “the rabid cop-hating prosecutor”, Chris Becker, to run a “circus.”

The judge has allowed hostile and aggressive questioning from the prosecution. The judge has also oddly allowed questions from the jurors to witnesses, but would block questions favorable to the defense. Observers also say that the judge has blocked every motion favorable to the defense of Officer Schurr.

The robot, suspended from a small crane-like apparatus, appears to wake up from its slumber and starting violently thrash its arms, swiping the air with increasing aggression.

During the outburst, the machine suddenly lunges at a man seated at a nearby workstation, forcing him to duck for cover, while another individual standing behind the robot quickly retreats.

The robot repeatedly raises its arms and slams them down in a disturbing display of mechanical fury, the pace and force of the movements escalating rapidly.

Attempting to advance despite its restraints, the robot thrashes against the crane, knocking over equipment and scattering items from a desk.

The two men, visibly alarmed, raise their arms to try to shield themselves from the chaos as a computer monitor crashes to the ground and debris starts flying.

One of the workers eventually manages to grab the crane mechanism from behind, struggling to bring the rampaging machine under control and prevent any further damage.

Last month, China showcased more than 20 bipedal robots in Beijing to compete in what was billed as the world’s first humanoid half-marathon.

While their movement was undoubtedly impressive, the robots repeatedly fell over and required human assistance to get over the finish line.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy ripped Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg after an alarming radar outage at Newark Airport.

United Airlines pulled 35 round-trip flights a day following a radar outage at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey last week.

Last Monday air traffic controllers lost communication with planes flying in and out of Newark for about 90 seconds.

National Air Traffic Controllers Association told Bloomberg News that Newark “temporarily lost radar and communications with the aircraft under their control, unable to see, hear, or talk to them.”

“Air traffic controllers guiding planes bound for Newark Liberty International Airport lost radar and radio communication for more than a minute early last week before flights at the key hub were snarled for days, according to people familiar with the matter,” Bloomberg reported.

“The outage of those key systems occurred on April 28 and lasted nearly 90 seconds, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing the matter because it isn’t public. Following the incident, multiple employees were placed on trauma leave, the people said,” Bloomberg reported.

United grounded flights after an air traffic controller said Newark is “not safe.”

“We feel like there is no other choice in order to protect our customers,” United CEO Scott Kirby said.

On Monday FAA released an urgent statement on Monday after a malfunction with telecommunications equipment.

Biden’s DEI Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg did nothing to fix the antiquated air traffic control system even though he was given billions of dollars to handle the problem.

Buttigieg couldn’t even fix the potholes when he was a small town mayor of South Bend, Indiana, so it is no surprise that he did not thing to improve the air traffic control system.

Secretary Duffy blasted Buttigieg and Biden for doing nothing to fix the air traffic control equipment.

“What did they do? Nothing! Instead they spent their time focused on changing the name of ‘cockpit’ to ‘flight deck,’” Duffy said.

Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney met Thursday with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. For Carney, who on April 29 was elected to his first full term, the trip is the first official visit to Washington that he has made as prime minister.

During the meeting, Carney indicated that he has no intention to sell Canada to the U.S. 

“There are some places that are never for sale,” Carney commented in his joint appearance with Trump in the Oval Office. “Having met with the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign last several months, it’s not for sale. Won’t be for sale, ever.” 

“Never say never,” Trump retorted.

In the same appearance, Trump indicated a reluctance to open negotiations with other countries on matters of trade, instead preferring them to approach the U.S. 

“Everyone says, ‘When, when? When are you going to sign deals?’ We don’t have to sign deals,” Trump told reporters. “They have to sign deals with us. They want a piece of our market. We don’t want a piece of their market.”

India launched a series of missile attacks against what it termed “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The Indian government said that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted. The strike is the latest in a series of escalations in response to a terrorist attack on April 22 in the Indian portion of the contested state that killed 26 people and injured a dozen more. 

Pakistan has vowed to respond in kind to any measures taken by the Indian Armed Forces, leaving open the potential for further conflict between the two nuclear-armed powers.

Serbian President Vucic and Slovakian Prime Minister Fico via Instagram

The increasingly trivial and petulant behavior of some EU member states was on full display today, as Lithuanian and Latvian authorities blocked Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s plane from flying through their airspace en route to Moscow.

The trip, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of Victory Day—commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany—is part of a diplomatic mission by Vučić and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

The Baltic states, according to the Serbian media company Novosti, cited vague “technical and diplomatic sensitivities” for the restriction, a thinly veiled excuse that reflects more about their insecurities and alignment with Brussels groupthink than any legitimate international standard. While Lithuania and Latvia appear content to grandstand, Polish authorities took a somewhat more nuanced, if still condescending, approach.

Warsaw granted overflight permission to Prime Minister Fico’s government aircraft, but not without publicly chastising him for attending the Russian event. The Polish Foreign Ministry issued a sanctimonious statement condemning Fico’s decision to engage with Moscow.

Yet notably, they acknowledged there were “no formal international legal obstacles” to the overflight request—an admission that the bans by others are purely political.

Confusion swirled Tuesday afternoon, with conflicting reports over whether Poland was also denying airspace to Fico. Initial claims from the Serbian media outlet Novosti and regional sources said that both Poland and Lithuania had blocked his flight.

However, later in the day, Poland clarified that they had approved the overflight but remained “critical” of his trip. The conflicting messages leave the impression that some EU governments can’t even coordinate their own messaging, let alone forge a coherent foreign policy.

Fico, never one to mince words, called the Baltic states’ overflight denials “hysterical.” Speaking on the matter, he noted, “Just imagine where international relations are now.” His sentiment echoes growing frustration among Central and Eastern European leaders who seek to maintain open channels with all global powers—something Brussels seems intent on punishing.

Vučić, for his part, has remained firm despite mounting EU pressure. The Serbian leader previously promised to attend the Victory Day ceremonies and followed through, albeit reportedly without an official delegation, in order to shield Serbian officials from EU retribution.

His visit is also expected to include bilateral talks with Putin to discuss regional stability in the Balkans—an issue of far more substance than the shallow virtue-signaling coming from Vilnius and Riga.

The EU has already warned candidate states like Serbia to steer clear of Moscow, threatening vague “consequences” for those who defy the directive. Yet such posturing only exposes the EU’s own insecurities. That a continent once saved from Hitler’s rabid Nazism by the very soldiers being honored in Moscow today now seeks to erase or delegitimize that memory is a sad irony.

Even sadder is the fact that small, largely inconsequential states like Lithuania and Latvia now see fit to impose themselves on the diplomatic missions of sovereign nations for no other reason than to curry favor with Brussels.

As the West continues its descent into performative foreign policy and ideological purity tests, leaders like Vučić and Fico stand out not for their defiance, but for their adherence to principle—engaging where necessary, remembering history honestly, and refusing to bend the knee to the small-minded whims of bureaucrats and their junior enforcers in the Baltics.

Ironically, the concert raised money for Autism Speaks, and Elon Musk is well known for his Aspergers syndrome, a condition listed on the autism spectrum.

Per the Daily Beast, the new song, titled “Let’s Roll Again,” is a rally cry for car manufacturers to outperform Tesla.

The song also bashed Tesla owners as fascists, a move that seemingly calls for more violence against Tesla dealerships and owners amid the ongoing wave of attacks from leftist terrorists.
