Eric Trump: President Trump’s Presidential Library to Be Located in Miami Next to Iconic Freedom Tower

Eric Trump, president of the Trump presidential library foundation, announced on Tuesday the presidential library of his father President Donald J. Trump will be located in Miami, Florida, nect to the iconic Freedom Tower.

Funding for the library has come in part from tens of millions of dollar paid by media and tech companies in lawsuit settlements with President Trump for defaming him, deceptive reporting to help Kamala Harris in last year’s presidential election and for deplatforming him.

MIAMI, FLORIDA – SEPTEMBER 30: A parking lot adjacent to the Freedom Tower was voted by Florida officials to be donated as the potential site for President Donald Trump’s future presidential library on September 30, 2025 in Miami, Florida. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Cabinet voted to give the 2.63-acre parcel, appraised at more than $66 million, to the foundation planning the president’s library. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images)

The land was owned by Miami Dade College which conveyed the property, a 2.63 acre employee parking lot appraised at over $66 million, to the state of Florida last week which then donated it to the Trump library this week after a vote by Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and other top state officials, reported Politico (excerpt)

Gov. Ron DeSantis and other state elected officials Tuesday moved ahead with an ambitious plan to deliver prime downtown Miami real estate that will be the location of President Donald Trump’s presidential library.

The quick and unanimous vote caps off a mostly off-the-radar transaction pieced together quickly and not widely known about until last week, when Miami Dade College voted to transfer the land over to the state. The same day, DeSantis announced the state would turn over the 2.63 acre parcel to the Trump presidential library foundation.

…The land being turned over is currently a parking lot adjacent to the historic Freedom Tower, which was once a processing center for Cuban refugees and recently underwent a major renovation.

…The land being handed over to the Trump foundation is seen as quite valuable, given its location right across the street from the arena used by the Miami Heat and being close to Biscayne Bay. The land transaction does place an obligation on the Trump foundation to commence construction of the library and a museum within five years.

Eric Trump: “I am extremely proud to announce a UNANIMOUS vote by the Florida Cabinet for the conveyance of land for the @realDonaldTrump Presidential Library which will be located in… MIAMI, FLORIDA! It will be the greatest Presidential Library ever built, honoring the greatest President our Nation has ever known. A large thank you to @GovRonDeSantis & @AGJamesUthmeier who have been incredible partners in this endeavor. Consistent with our families DNA, this will be one of the most beautiful buildings ever built, an Icon on the Miami skyline – – rest assured it will not look like President Obama “prison like structure.””

Press release from the Trump presidential library foundation:

Miami Dade College Selected As Official Location of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library

Eric Trump, President of the Library Foundation, Celebrates Decision

Today, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation celebrated the approval of a 2.63-acre site at Miami Dade College for the future library honoring the 45th and 47th President of the United States. Deeded to the Foundation by the State of Florida through a Cabinet vote, the site is located in the heart of Miami, adjacent to the iconic Freedom Tower, a landmark of liberty and resilience.

On this ground will rise a bold tribute to a leader who reshaped history and restored America’s strength. It will be the greatest presidential library ever built, honoring the greatest President our nation has known. The site selection comes just months after President Trump’s historic 13-point victory in Miami-Dade County, the first Republican to carry it since 1988. This resounding affirmation of support underscores the realignment he continues to lead.

Miami is a powerhouse of American enterprise – home to the world’s busiest cruise port, tens of millions of annual visitors, and a booming corridor of finance, trade, tourism, and technology. From legacy industries to emerging frontiers like crypto, the city reflects the dynamism and ambition that President Trump champions.

President Trump selected the location after Eric Trump and his team evaluated multiple sites across President Trump’s home state of Florida.

“No monument can fully capture the scale of my father’s legacy, but this library will stand as a tribute to the leader who reshaped history and restored America’s strength,” said Eric Trump, President of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation. “Once completed, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library will be visible for miles into the Atlantic, a bold landmark on Miami’s skyline and a lasting tribute to the achievements my father continues to deliver for this nation. We are deeply grateful to Governor DeSantis, Attorney General Uthmeier, CFO Ingoglia, and Commissioner Simpson for their affirmative votes and leadership in making this day possible.”

A fitting neighbor to the Trump Presidential Library, Miami’s Freedom Tower once served as a federal processing center for Cuban refugees fleeing communism, a powerful reminder of America’s role as a refuge from tyranny.

Miami Dade College is deeply woven into the fabric of this community. The college embodies the values President Trump champions: lowering the cost of education, preparing students for real-world success, and producing strong and proud Americans who make America great.

More on the Freedom Tower (excerpt):

The Freedom Tower is a rare historic constant in a city continually remaking itself. Built in 1925 as the headquarters of The Miami News, it was one of Miami’s first skyscrapers—an architectural symbol of the city’s early ambition.

From 1962 to 1974, the building served as the Cuban Refugee Center, assisting hundreds of thousands of Cubans seeking asylum in the United States. These refugees would go on to reshape Miami. After decades of disrepair, the Freedom Tower was rescued by Cuban American community leaders aiming to honor the Cuban legacy in Miami, who donated it to Miami Dade College in 2005.

In 2008, the building was designated a National Historic Landmark. Since then, it has continued to serve as a hub for culture, education, and civic engagement—hosting the Miami Book Fair, Miami Film Festival, Live Arts Miami, and the Museum of Art and Design. The Freedom Tower stands as a tribute to the generations who built Miami and an inspiration for the city’s future. The story of the Freedom Tower is the story of Miami.

The Miami Herald, predictably, had a fit over the Trump library (excerpt):

And just like that, in a matter of a week, the state of Florida publicly proposed and approved giving away taxpayer-owned land in downtown Miami — worth $67 million — to Donald Trump’s presidential library foundation, with few questions asked, few restrictions and little to no public input on a topic that’s certain to drive passionate debate in South Florida.

…The Herald reported that the only restriction imposed by the state on the property transfer is that “within five years of the date of conveyance, the subject property contains components of a Presidential library, museum, and/or center or that construction has commenced.” Is this the best our state leaders, who wave the flag of fiscal responsibility while sending the Florida DOGE hunting for questionable spending by local government, could deliver?

…Trump’s library should give an honest account of his presidency — including his impeachments and Jan. 6 — not just the glorified highlights the president and his supporters want Americans to remember. We highly doubt that will happen. This is the same Trump who has tried to recast the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol invasion as a patriotic field trip and whose administration is trying to rewrite American history by, for example, ordering the removal of exhibits and materials related to the history of slavery from national parks.

…Florida, no doubt, is Trump country — now we will have a presidential library to prove it.

NEW: Poll Finds 65% of Americans and Nearly Half of Democrats Think Democrats SHOULD NOT Use Government Shut Down to Get Their Demands

President Trump mocks Democrat leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies in an epic tweet!

A new poll finds that a near-supermajority of Americans do not support the Democrats forcing a government shutdown to push their radical agenda.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the government is expected to shut down tonight at midnight because the Democrats refuse to vote for a stopgap bill unless they can secure $1.5 trillion in spending that will fund healthcare for illegal aliens and sex reassignment surgery for children.

Senate Democrats have been fighting a Trump-backed stopgap bill that would fund the government until November 21.

The radical policies that they’re pushing only appeal to the radical wing of the Democratic Party, and almost half of Democrats do not want a government shutdown.

The New York Times/Sienna poll conducted from September 22 to September 27 found that 65% of Americans believe the Democrats should not use their demands as ransom to keep the government running.

This includes 43% of Democrats and 59% of Independents.

Poll results showing public opinion on whether Democrats should shut down the government if demands are unmet, with 27% in favor and 65% against.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump warned earlier that if the Democrats shut the government down tonight at midnight, “we can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them.”

This includes “cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like,” Trump said. “We don’t want fraud, waste, and abuse.”

Muslim Rights Groups: US Army Grooming Standards May Infringe on Religious Freedom

Muslim rights groups are concerned that new US Army grooming standards will exclude Muslims and Sikhs from serving. There are only about 10,000 – 20,000 US service members who identify as Muslim, and Sikhs appear to number only in the low double digits.

An ancillary effect of the policy is that it reinforces the elimination of accommodations for transgender soldiers, requiring them to dress and meet the standards of their birth gender.

The Army announced updated appearance, grooming, and uniform standards following a force-wide review, emphasizing professionalism and discipline as reflections of Army values. Key changes include clarified rules on hairstyles, cosmetics, fingernails, jewelry, uniforms, insignia, and body composition assessments. Developed with input from leaders across the Army, the policy is intended to realign standards with warfighting priorities and eliminate ambiguity.

The Army also reinforced its facial hair policy in July 2025 through Army Directive 2025-13, requiring soldiers to remain clean-shaven in uniform or while on duty in civilian clothes, with only temporary medical exemptions and permanent religious accommodations.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Pentagon to protect the religious rights of military personnel after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a new “no beards” policy. Hegseth told military leaders, “no more beards… we’re going to cut our hair, shave our beards and adhere to standards.” CAIR urged the Department of Defense to clarify that religious accommodations will remain in place for Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, and others.

Historically, the rule in the US Army for about 100 years has been that the Army allows religious freedom and will accommodate as much as it can. However, the priority is always the mission, followed by the men, or in Army terms, “mission, men.” While attempts would be made to accommodate religious practices, if a practice prevents a soldier from carrying out duties, then that individual cannot serve.

For example, Jewish soldiers were allowed to wear a yarmulke under their helmet because it did not interfere with equipment. But a beard, even for religious reasons, was not permitted because a protective mask would no longer seal. Similarly, a Sikh turban could not be worn with a combat uniform because it interfered with the helmet and other equipment

From 1948 to 1984, Sikh men were permitted to serve in the US military while wearing beards and turbans. That changed in 1984, when Gen. John A. Wickham Jr., then Chief of Staff of the Army, eliminated the exception for Sikhs and others who wore “conspicuous” items of faith, citing health and safety concerns. The official reasoning was that turbans and uncut hair interfered with helmets and equipment, while beards prevented protective masks from sealing properly.

Civil rights groups later argued that these rules “effectively prevented Sikhs from enlisting” by barring turbans and beards. But that framing is misleading. The policy did not bar Sikhs from service; it simply required them to meet the same standards as every other soldier.

This debate illustrates the conservative/liberal divide. Conservatives see equality as one rule applied to everyone, while liberals see equality as different rules for different groups based on religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation.

Since January 2017, the Army has reversed course and now allows permanent religious accommodations for soldiers to wear beards, turbans, hijabs, and other articles of faith. Beards may be as long as desired, provided they can be rolled up and compressed to less than two inches from the bottom of the chin. Under the current policy, brigade-level commanders can approve these accommodations, whereas previously the authority rested with the Army Secretary. The Army explained the change as part of an effort to ensure soldiers can serve in a manner consistent with their faith and to recruit from the broadest pool of America’s talent.

However, the reasoning behind the old bans has not changed. Studies still show that beard growth degrades the protective seal of gas masks to an unacceptable degree. The rules now state that commanders can order bearded soldiers to shave only when there is specific and concrete evidence of an expected chemical attack, and such orders must come from General Court-Martial Convening Authority-level commanders. In other words, the policy assumes the enemy will politely phone ahead so soldiers have time for a quick shave before the attack.

Some sanity has prevailed, however, as soldiers with a religious accommodation for beards may not attend schools requiring toxic chemical agent training, nor can they be assigned to positions that demand compliance with biological, chemical, or nuclear surety requirements.

The Army also officially allows soldiers to wear turbans in place of issued Army headgear, with these accommodations made permanent in 2017. Soldiers are authorized to wear turbans, and unless their duties require the Army Combat Helmet or other protective gear, they are not required to wear additional military headgear.

During training or deployment, however, when protective equipment is necessary, soldiers must wear the combat helmet or other gear, either over or instead of the turban, whenever the mission requires it.

The new grooming directives also end the Army’s practice of accommodating men who identify as women or vice versa. While most transgender personnel are still allowed to serve, they must do so in their biological sex and meet all related standards. The updated rules establish uniform appearance requirements for all soldiers, specifying that male soldiers are prohibited from wearing cosmetics, nail polish, or earrings except by medical exemption, while female soldiers may wear limited makeup to achieve an even skin tone, clear or skin-tone tinted lip gloss, clear nail polish with fingernails no longer than a quarter inch, and simple stud earrings in certain uniforms.

Commanders are instructed to enforce grooming, uniform, body composition, medical, and physical standards according to biological sex rather than gender identity. In effect, the 2025 policy ensures that all grooming and appearance standards are applied uniformly. This is all part of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s mission to restore the Army to a warfighting force, free of social experiments and liberal ideology.

Warsaw prosecutors announced the arrest of a Ukrainian man wanted by Germany for his alleged role in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.

The Washington Post reported, the man has been identified by his lawyer as Volodymyr Z. and was arrested in Poland on a European arrest warrant issued by Germany.

Germany has described the suspect as a “trained diver” and was part of the team that attached explosives to the Nord Stream pipelines which is located in the Baltic Sea between Russia and Germany.

The Associated Press reported Polish authorities attempted to arrest the man last year but were unable to do so because the suspect fled to Ukraine before an arrest could be made.

Per The Washington Post:

A Ukrainian man sought by Germany for his suspected involvement in the 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines was arrested in Poland, the Warsaw public prosecutor’s office confirmed Tuesday.

The suspect, identified by his lawyer as Volodymyr Z., was detained Tuesday on a European arrest warrant issued by German prosecutors, according to Volodymyr Z.’s attorney, Tymoteusz Paprocki.

“I can confirm that this morning in a village near Warsaw, my friend Volodymyr Z. was arrested by the police,” Paprocki told The Post.

“My client does not agree with this and says he’s not guilty.”

German prosecutors described the suspect as a “trained diver” and alleged that he was part of a team that planted explosives on the undersea pipelines.

The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office noted in the arrest warrant that the man was part of a group that rented a sailing yacht under false identities near the German city of Rostock to the island of Bornholm.

Once they arrived near the island of Bornholm, the team then conducted a series of dives to plant explosives on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream pipelines, which were later detonated.

Initially, European leaders, without evidence, blamed the gas pipeline explosion on the Russians.

Last month, The Gateway Pundit reported a Ukrainian in Italy was arrested in connection to the detonation of the Nord Stream pipelines.

Due to German privacy laws, the man was only identified as Serhii K.

President Trump Suggests Dangerous U.S. Cities Should Be Used As Training Grounds for Military, “It’s A War From Within”

President Trump while addressing top Generals and Admirals suggested the U.S. military use “dangerous” cities as training grounds.

Trump while speaking in front of military officials in Quantico, Virginia stated, “It seems like cities run by radical left Democrats. what they have done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, is very unsafe.”

He added, “That’s a war too. It’s a war from within.”

The 47th President continued, “I told Pete, we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military. National Guard, but military. Because we’re going into Chicago very soon.”

Per The Hill:

President Trump told a gathering of military leaders Tuesday they should use American cities as “training grounds” and described a federal crackdown on crime in major cities as necessary due to “a war from within.”

Trump addressed dozens of top generals and admirals in Quantico, Va., where he said defending the homeland was the military’s “most important priority.” He signaled the leaders in the room could be tasked with aiding in federal interventions in Democratic-led cities such as Chicago and New York City.

“They’re very unsafe places, and we’re going to straighten them out one by one,” Trump said. “And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That’s a war, too. It’s a war from within.”

“I told [Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth], we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military — National Guard, but our military, because we’re going into Chicago very soon,” Trump added. “That’s a big city with an incompetent governor.”

Trump added the rampant lawlessness in Democrat run cities are “No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways because they don’t wear uniforms.

War Secretary Hegseth Takes on the Military’s Internal Oversight Body, Recognized for Its Flawed Policies and Procedures that Shield Bad Actors

Remember when military whistleblowers often faced career-ending reprisals after reporting allegations, only to find their appeals for help to the Inspector General’s (IG) office disappear—their cases apparently buried beneath bureaucratic silence.

According to War Secretary Pete Hegseth, those days are over. During a speech on Tuesday morning in front of an auditorium filled with several hundred of the country’s most senior military leaders, he said the Department of War plans to revamp its Inspector General policies and procedures, as well as those of the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Military Equal Opportunity program. The “No More Walking on Eggshells Policy” is all but written in stone.

In an interview with The Gateway Pundit, retired Navy Medical Service Corps lieutenant Ted Macie appreciated Hegseth’s interest to improve the Pentagon’s watchdog. In particular, he emphasized the critical need for holding IG officials and others responsible for their failure to adequately conduct investigations and dismissal of very valid issues. He believes the IG, like the whistleblower program, is “mainly for theater and to give the perception of an actual form of redress and protection to the general public.”

Facing retaliatory action from Captain Sharon House, Commander of Naval Hospital Jacksonville, in November 2023 for posting a (now-removed) video on X, Macie filed a complaint with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) to investigate the subsequent reprisals made against him on April 24, 2024.

The Medical Service Corps Officer’s video presentation (shared here) documented an alarming trend following the August 2021 implementation of former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s COVID-19 shot mandate. Active-duty fixed-wing pilots and helicopter pilots were experiencing drastic spikes in various heart ailments, including hypertensive disease, ischemic heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, heart failure, and more.

Before the video, Macie shared data as a whistleblower, showing the rate of myocarditis and other ailments on the rise as result of the COVID-19 shot. But for the U.S. Navy, it appears the highly circulated November 2023 video was a bridge too far.

“I was placed under investigation immediately for the same data I had been publishing publicly for the ten months prior,” said Macie. “My command was aware of my whistleblower activity throughout that period; in fact, my entire chain of command handled the material I personally handed the data to the Chief of Naval Operations.”

“The CNO’s aide, Capt. Pottenburgh, forwarded the material to the Navy Inspector General and confirmed receipt on 9 November 2023, a few weeks before the video went viral,” the whistleblower shared. “The resulting retaliation and investigation included removal from my duties as clinic administrator, loss of access to my work computer and collateral duties, and shortly thereafter, my physical removal from my office.”

“I was guilty until proven innocent,” Macie told TGP. For him, every piece of data he shared as a military whistleblower was “protected communication.” To obtain results of the spring 2024 investigation against him, he said, “I had to make a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request [after retiring on October 1, 2024].”

“There was no illegal activity found, but my [commanding officer] did state that I was ‘untrustworthy’ and that I would remain with no access to my computer and would not perform my job until retirement five months later.” In his opinion, “I was basically told I did nothing wrong but the retaliation would continue.”

Among the half-dozen examples of alleged retaliation against him, one response disturbed him more than the others. “It says I alleged a member of my chain command denied my request to participate in the Defense Department SkillBridge transition program, [which was] reprisal for my protected communications,” he said.

Service members transitioning to civilian life can access industry training and development through the SkillBridge program, connecting them with prospective employers.

However, Macie alleged “it wasn’t just a member; it was my commanding officer, Captain Sharon House, who denied it along with everyone on the way up [my chain of command] that recommended no.” He explained, “At the time my computer access had been taken away, Ashley Espiritu, my OIC (Officer in Charge), was helping me my Skill Bridge packet, due to the restricted access of my computer access, as though it would be approved.” But according to him, “She was actually the first one to deny it.”

For this reason, Macie claimed, “It appears as someone called her and told her not recommend me the Skillbridge transitioning program.” According to him, “The one helping me was the first person to request denial.” It was only after the threat of filing an Article 138 (or formal complaint) against his commanding officer that he said SkillBridge was approved.

Inspector General Investigation MIA

In a previous interview with The Gateway Pundit, Macie and LTC Theresa Long disclosed that the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Office of the Inspector General (IG) falsely claimed that Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) were essential to initiate investigations into service members’ complaints. Perhaps War Secretary Hegseth should also inquire about what the IG might be attempting to hide from the public concerning their investigative methods and other issues.

After a year and two months, Macie finally received the result of the Defense Health Agency’s IG investigation he initiated in response to the retaliation. What was their response? “We won’t investigate.”

“This should have been investigated, but instead they’re saying that in order to investigate, it needed to affect my pay benefit or my career,” said Macie, lamenting, “They had already destroyed my career, [as I was] unable to promote.”

“I find it sickening that we live under a government where truthtellers are punished while those who cover up the truth are rewarded and promoted,” he shared. “I refuse to stand by and allow my children, or anyone else’s to grow up under the kind of tyranny we are facing today.”

“All my [computer] accesses were taken away and I was deemed untrustworthy,” Macie pointed out. “An investigation would have revealed they were wrong, and [Capt. House] should have at very least received some sort of reprimand.”

But to the contrary, he said, “the lack of a real investigation and accountability basically shows that they’re not going to make a commander look bad even when it’s the right thing to. They’re protecting the institution, not the Constitution, that we all swear an oath to.” For him, “They’d rather give that person a free pass, protecting her and other rogue commanders instead of service members who were actually retaliated against.”

Why is this the case? “Bottomline,” according to Macie, “it deters whistleblowing, making them seem like the ones that can’t be trusted. As an alleged honorable institution, every effort should be made to ensure we are actually honorable.” But from his point of view, “[Captain House] and others up the chain of command are the ones keeping corrupt secrets.”

Macie was essentially forced into retirement on October 1, 2024, while Captain House now serves as the deputy commander of Naval Medical Forces Development Command. She did not respond to the following inquiries sent by J.M. Phelps on September 23.

  1. What were the official charge(s) against LT Macie?
  2. Was he guilty of any of those charges?
  3. Did any of the information he made public fall under HIPAA?
  4. Why was he deemed “untrustworthy” by you?
  5. Have you investigated the whistleblower data he shared with you, and have you determined any of it to be inaccurate?

Macie would like to return to active duty, fully aware of the challenges he faces. “I intend to return with purpose,” he offered. “Many of us share this commitment, determined to help correct one of the greatest injustices ever perpetrated against our service members.”

“I can point to numerous instances where the Inspector General consistently failed to address fact-based issues raised by patriots fighting for integrity within our Department of War,” he shared. “While it has become a recurring theme that IG complaints rarely go anywhere, we still submit them to ensure the concerns are documented, in the case that future leadership committed to truth and accountability will act on them.”

Macie is currently in communication with the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, who is working to expedite his case under existing guidance, or under revised guidance once it is properly aligned with the will of President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

A gun-grabbing former Biden hack was caught off guard during a Senate hearing on Tuesday when his own words on defunding the police were read back to him. It got even worse when he invented a new word in a report and was left with no answer.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) confronted Democratic witness Gregory Jackson, Jr., who formerly served as the Deputy Director of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. He is now the president of the Rocket Foundation, a non-profit established by the Migos rap group to end gun violence.

The Missouri senator started by ripping the Democrats’ pro-crime policies before whipping out Jackson Jr’s report on ‘solving’ crime. He noted that Jackson Jr was pretending he did not support defunding the police when his own report recommended doing so.

More bizarrely, what Jackson Jr. recommended investing in: programs that acknowledge the need for safe-space initiatives led by lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit, trans, and gender non-conforming people.

You read that right, he wants to give money to “two-spirit” people. The Democrats are now so woke on intersectionality that they are inventing new words to pander to their radical-left base.

Hawley was undoubtedly confused and asked Jackson Jr. to tell him what a two-spirit person is. The gun grabber was puzzled and had no answer.

But Hawley would not let go and kept asking the same question. This caused Jackson Jr. to start losing his temper before the Missouri senator shut him down.

WATCH:

HAWLEY: This is so typical of what the Democrats do now. Your policies have apparently failed and led to the DEATHS of millions of Americans and now you say you’ve never heard of defunding the police.

Your OWN report recommends it on page after page after page! Let me ask you about something else you said: here’s what you say we ought to invest in:

(Reading report) We need to invest in programs that acknowledge the need for safe-space initiatives led by lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit, trans, and gender non-conforming people.

What’s two-spirit?

JACKSON JR (chuckling): You guys are pulling some interesting quotes.

HAWLEY: This is from your report!

JACKSON, JR: If you look at the report, the focus is on investing in violence intervention, outreach work…

HAWLEY: You say we shouldn’t invest in the police! (You say) We should invest in two-spirit community programs. What is that?

JACKSON, JR: We’re not going to discriminate against any non-profit…

HAWLEY: What is two-spirit? You say don’t fund the police, but do fund safe spaces for two-spirit people. I have no idea what that is.

JACKSON, JR: Uh, uh, honestly, I’m not completely aware of the language…

HAWLEY: You wrote the report. What is a two-spirit individual? You are the witness called by the Democrats on this committee, so I assume that you reflect their views.

JACKSON, JR: I feel like I’m looking at a two-faced individual…

HAWLEY: Oh, no, sir! You’re looking at someone who’s reading you your own words. I’d like to hear the answer.

Here’s the answer: you don’t have any solutions. You want to invest in gobbledygook and take away money from police officers who actually keep our communities safe.

And when you’re called on the record, you deny it!
