34-year-old Markus Frohnmaier, the AfD’s foreign policy chief and one of the party’s most prominent international voices, is emerging as a key figure in the growing alliance between European patriotic movements and the American Right.

Just weeks ago, he was welcomed by the New York Young Republicans Club as the guest of honor at its annual black-tie gala, where he was swarmed by Germany’s globalist regime press. In this wide-ranging interview, Frohnmaier discusses his reception among America First conservatives in the United States, the shared civilizational challenges facing Germany and America, and his vision for a sovereign, non-interventionist foreign policy that breaks decisively with the globalist, liberal EU consensus dominating Berlin and Brussels.

You recently attended the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala in New York City, together with a delegation of AfD representatives. What were your  impressions of the event, and how did you perceive the atmosphere among American conservative and patriotic circles?

The atmosphere was incredibly enthusiastic and energized. It was a powerful evening that radiated a sense of momentum and shared purpose. You could truly feel the vitality of the American conservative movement in the room.

The gala has become an important meeting point for the MAGA movement and like-minded international figures. What did this gathering tell you about the current state of the American Right and its openness toward European patriotic movements?

There is a distinct feeling that we are part of something much larger than just our individual national struggles. It feels like we are part of a global right-wing movement, perhaps even a kind of revolution. The openness is there because there is a recognition that we are fighting on different fronts of the same war.

Your speech at the gala, in which you called for a renewed alliance between American and German patriots, was widely noticed. What core message did you want to convey to your American audience that evening, and to the audience in Europe and Germany?

My core message was that the fate of Germany and Europe is inextricably intertwined with the fate of the United States. We are facing the exact same existential problems: mass migration, the Islamization of our societies, relentless attacks on free speech through censorship, and the culture war, including the aggressive trans agenda. Our struggles are linked.

You described cooperation between the MAGA movement and the AfD as a “hope for the free world.” How do you envision a future U.S.–German partnership grounded in national sovereignty, cultural confidence, and democratic self-determination?

We must take both American and German interests into account. Americans are absolutely right when they say they do not want to pay for European defense any longer. Europe and Germany must stand on their own feet. I envision an alliance that benefits both the American and European sides, rather than a relationship of dependency. We do not want to be dependent on the U.S., but we want to be strong allies in our own right.

What do you personally respect most about the MAGA movement, both politically and culturally, and what lessons do you believe European conservatives can draw from its success?

On a content level, I have deep admiration for their unapologetic patriotism and their dedication to family and nation. On a methodical level, we can learn a great deal from the successes of the MAGA movement regarding tactics and strategies. Perhaps most importantly, they make no apologies for being who they are.

Germany is currently undergoing profound political shifts, with the AfD polling strongly nationwide. How realistic do you believe it is that the AfD could assume governing responsibility in the near future, and how prepared is the party for that role?

It is quite realistic; we could see our first state governors (“Ministerpräsidenten”) as early as 2026. Our level of preparedness is constantly improving. However, we must be realistic about the opposition we will face. As we saw during the first term of President Trump, the “Deep State”, namely the ministerial bureaucracy and institutional structures run by the left for decades, will try to sabotage AfD governments at every turn. That will be a huge challenge we must be ready for.

Critics from establishment parties accuse the AfD now of what they call “anti-German diplomacy.” How do you respond to such accusations, and how would you define a truly patriotic German foreign policy?

I dismiss that as the arsonist accusing the firefighter of arson. The governing parties in Germany, specifically the CDU/CSU under Chancellor Merz, are the ones alienating major global powers, including the U.S., with their current foreign policy. A truly patriotic German foreign policy would prioritize German interests above all else.

This means ending the Ukraine War as fast as possible, which includes supporting President Trump’s peace initiative, and pursuing not necessarily an orthodox, but a pragmatic line of non-interventionism. The new National Security Strategy of President Trump outlines this clearly and serves as a blueprint for any sound patriotic foreign policy.

You met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers ahead of the gala. How important are such direct exchanges with American officials, and what role can public diplomacy play in strengthening dialogue beyond leftliberal elites? Do we need some new sort of  “patriotic conservative diplomacy” going beyond control of the left-liberal globalist elites?

These exchanges are absolutely critical. The visit of AfD representatives to the U.S. ignited a media firestorm in Germany, with the left screaming at the sky, which only proves how effective it was. It is vital to have official talks with the people from the Trump administration because they are the decision-makers, or the ones with access to them. Direct feedback is essential to bypass the left-liberal filter.

The new U.S. National Security Strategy speaks openly about concerns regarding censorship, political conformity, and democratic backsliding in Europe. How do you assess this document, and do you believe it accurately reflects realities on the ground in Germany?

It is a totally accurate reflection of reality. As I mentioned, it serves as a blueprint. The concerns regarding censorship democratic backsliding in Europe are well-founded, and the document correctly identifies the threats to liberty that we see manifesting in Germany today.

How would you describe the treatment of the AfD by major German media outlets, and what impact do you believe this has on democratic debate and voter trust in institutions?

Imagine if every mainstream news outlet in the United States described the Republican Party as the “confirmed right-wing extremist Republican Party, as proven by the FBI.” That is how the AfD is treated everywhere in the German mainstream media. The taxpayer-funded public broadcasters are essentially left-wing propaganda outlets. AfD politicians are almost never invited on air, while all other parties receive massive amounts of airtime. This is a perversion of how public debate should work in a democratic society.

AfD politicians and supporters have reported instances of intimidation and political violence. How serious is this problem in Germany today, and do you feel that such incidents receive adequate attention and condemnation?

To be honest, we are in a high-risk situation. The cars of AfD Members of Parliament are torched. During election season, when we host information stands for pedestrians, the police in major cities must guard us around the clock to stop violent Antifa from attacking our property and our bodies.

Antifa regularly leaks private home addresses to intimidate us, and our party conventions cannot be held without thousands of police officers and private security. State authorities do only the absolute minimum to protect our rights, and any kind of enforcement of the law against left-wing criminals is harshly scrutinized by left-wing media.

These events do not receive remotely enough attention, which is why we are trying to catch up to the U.S. model of successful alternative media to spread news uncensored. We are making great progress in this area, and the establishment is increasingly losing control of the political narrative.

Looking ahead, do you see realistic prospects for a broader alliance of European patriotic parties—working together with the American Right—to promote sovereignty, peace, and democratic accountability in the near future? What needs to be done to succeed?

There are certainly efforts, though the truth is that different European right-wing parties pursue different strategies, and naturally, national interests even within Europe differ. However, any successful alliance should be based on the pillars of this global movement that everyone can agree on: stopping mass migration, the preservation of our national culture and identity, the protection of free speech, and the defense of the normal against lunatic leftist policies.

Hollywood elitist and longtime Democrat activist George Clooney has officially joined the growing list of wealthy, left-wing celebrities who preach “American values” while quietly distancing themselves from the United States.

Clooney, along with his wife, Amal Alamuddin Clooney, and their two children, has reportedly obtained French citizenship through a naturalization decree.

The couple’s 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, were included in the process.

According to Fox News, the Clooneys uprooted their family from Los Angeles to escape what Clooney described as the “culture of Hollywood,” the very system that made him rich, famous, and politically influential.

George Clooney told Esquire in October that after the birth of his twins, he made the deliberate decision to move his family out of Hollywood.

The longtime Democrat donor explained that they now live on a farm far from Los Angeles, distancing themselves from a culture he believed would have denied his children a “fair shake” at life.

“You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it’s like—they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.”

Clooney went on to explain that he feared raising his children in Los Angeles.

“I was worried about raising our kids in L. A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. France—they kind of don’t give a shit about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

George and Amal Clooney purchased Domaine du Canadel, an 18th-century wine estate and farm in Brignoles, Provence, in August 2021.

By late 2024 and early 2025, the French estate became the family’s primary residence as they sought to raise their twins away from “Hollywood’s paparazzi culture.”

On December 27, 2025, a naturalization decree was published in France’s Journal officiel, officially granting George, Amal, and their twins French citizenship.

Clooney played a central role in the coordinated media and donor pressure campaign to force Joe Biden out of the 2024 race.

Following Biden’s disastrous June debate performance, Clooney kicked off the calls to put old Joe out to pasture with a column for the New York Times demanding that he step aside.

He wrote for The Times, “We are not going to win in November with this president.”

He continued, “This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I’ve spoken with in private.”

After Clooney’s column, the chorus calling for Biden to step aside became more vocal.

But, after Kamala Harris’s embarrassing loss to President Donald Trump, he has faced backlash from liberals for his key role in the ouster, and he isn’t happy with Barack.

A viral investigation into alleged misuse of Minnesota state funds has ignited a fierce public feud between Governor Tim Walz and independent journalist Nick Shirley, culminating in a heated exchange of accusations over the weekend.

Shirley’s 42-minute video report, which garnered over 100 million views on X, purportedly showed multiple state-funded daycare centers — receiving millions in taxpayer dollars — appearing closed or inactive during business hours.

In the wake of the report’s release, Governor Walz faced intense backlash after appearing to dismiss the findings on X, writing, “This is what happens when they scapegoat and this is what happens when they no longer hide the idea of white supremacy.”

Critics immediately seized on the Governor’s comment, accusing him of using racially charged language to deflect from legitimate questions regarding the stewardship of public funds.

On Sunday, Shirley appeared on Fox News to directly address the Governor’s characterization, rejecting the “white supremacist” label as a political tactic used to silence dissent.

“If you have 100,000 people that will vote for you because you’re going to enable this stuff… and you’re going to call a white person racist for calling out facts, this is what’s going to happen,” Shirley told the host.

He further ridiculed the state’s oversight during the segment, remarking that the alleged fraud was “so obvious a kindergartner could figure it out.”

Meanwhile, Governor Walz’s office issued a formal statement responding to the allegations, asserting that his administration has “worked for years to crack down on fraud” and has already launched investigations into the specific facilities highlighted in the video.

The spokesperson emphasized that the administration has strengthened oversight mechanisms and previously closed one of the centers featured in Shirley’s report.

Despite the administration’s defense, the controversy continues to escalate, with federal authorities now signaling they are deploying additional resources to investigate the scope of the alleged fraud.

Oversight Chair James Comer Says Minnesota Officials Will Answer for Massive Somali Fraud: ‘Hopefully, We’ll Have Some Criminal Referrals’

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced that federal investigators are closing in on massive, systemic fraud tied to state-administered welfare and social service programs, fraud that state whistleblowers say was ignored for years by top officials, including Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Speaking with Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie, Comer made clear that the era of Minnesota Democrats sweeping corruption under the rug is over.

According to Comer, state employees courageously came forward after years of being stonewalled by Democrat leadership, alleging that enormous sums of taxpayer money were siphoned off through fraudulent claims tied to Minnesota’s bloated welfare system.

In addition to whistleblowers, Comer confirmed that Minnesota lawmakers and mayors will also be called to testify, as federal investigators begin following the money trail, right down to the banks that processed the transactions.

When asked whether Walz should resign, Comer said the governor will receive due process, but emphasized that no one is buying Walz’s claim that he can “handle it” himself.

Aishah Hasnie:
Now the federal government is getting involved here. The House Oversight Committee is widening its probe, inviting state lawmakers to testify and other federal departments to investigate. Let’s bring in now Chairman James Comer.

Tell us about who you’re bringing in, who you want to see on Capitol Hill, and what questions you want to ask them.

James Comer:
Well, the most important people are the state whistleblowers—the state employees who put out that tweet that we’re all familiar with a few weeks ago that alerted America to the massive fraud. These state employees also alleged that they had warned both Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison for years that this fraud was occurring, and yet nothing was taking place.

So we’re going to bring the state employees in. We’re going to get their sworn testimony. We appreciate their bravery in coming forward. We’re also going to bring in state lawmakers and Minnesota mayors because the walls are caving in on Tim Walz.

This massive amount of fraud is affecting and impacting every citizen of Minnesota because they’re having to cut services since so much of the money for social programs was wasted and defrauded by this Somali population. So these are the people we’re going to bring in.

We’re going to try to identify who was responsible for this. We’re going to try to identify banks that we can subpoena for their bank records so we can follow the money—see how much was taken, who took it, and then who we need to hold accountable. And hopefully, we’ll have some criminal referrals at the end of the investigation.

Aishah Hasnie:
What is so fascinating about this, Chairman Comer, is how no one knew—or did they know? This is an op-ed from The Wall Street Journal asking, I think, a pretty fair question: When nearly a quarter-billion dollars can vanish from one state program before anyone truly notices, taxpayers are justified in asking, “Who was supposed to be minding the store?”

The uncomfortable answer is that no one elected by the people held that responsibility or had the mandate and clout to stop the scheme. You know, your whip, Tom Emmer, says there’s no way that Governor Tim Walz—or somebody in his administration—didn’t know or didn’t have an inkling that something was going on. Do you agree with that, and how do you prove that?

James Comer:
I agree completely. Look, Tom Emmer was a state legislator in Minnesota before he came here. He has the pulse of Minnesota. He communicates regularly with Minnesota state legislators and Minnesota state employees. They’ve been talking about this for years.

There was a congressman who came in from Minnesota when I came to Congress nine years ago named Jason Lewis. He was talking about the massive fraud involving the Somali population nine years ago. This is something that’s been discussed in Minnesota for a long time.

The Minnesota media is very liberal, so they’re never going to write anything bad about a beloved Democrat like Tim Walz or Keith Ellison. Finally, state employees have stepped forward publicly and talked about this massive amount of fraud. I can tell you from our preliminary discussions with these state employees, it is a significant amount of money.

Remember, Minnesota isn’t a big state. When you’re talking about billions of dollars for a small state, that is a significant percentage of the budget for welfare in that state.

Aishah Hasnie:
Should the governor resign? Are you calling on him to resign?

James Comer:
Well, not yet. He deserves due process, and we’re going to give him due process. One of the things he said in the last 48 hours was that the Oversight Committee didn’t need to worry about this investigation—that he would take care of it. I mean, no one in America believes that. That is a joke.

We are going to investigate this. The key to a good congressional investigation is having whistleblowers, and fortunately for us, we have some state employees who have bravely stepped forward. We’re going to get them under oath, and they’re going to tell us everything they know, and we’re going to go from there.

Wherever the investigation leads us, we will go. We’re going to try to do it as rapidly as possible. But I think, at the end of the day, the American taxpayers—and especially the taxpayers in Minnesota—are going to be sick to their stomachs, and Tim Walz is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

A federal judge will not allow the Justice Department to search James Comey’s mole Daniel Richman’s data for classified information.

US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, a Clinton appointee, won’t let the feds search Richman’s personal computer hard drive for additional classified information without a search warrant.

Earlier this month, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ordered the DOJ to return all materials it seized from Comey’s media mole a week after she blocked federal prosecutors from accessing key evidence in the criminal case against James Comey.

Comey’s secret media mole, Daniel Richman, recently sought to block the Justice Department from accessing his files as the Trump Administration prepares to hit James Comey with a new indictment.

The feds seized materials from Daniel Richman several years ago, and he asked a judge to block the DOJ from accessing his files.

A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted former FBI Director James Comey in September. He was indicted on two counts – false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

The charges are related to Comey’s testimony to Senate investigators in September 2020 about whether he authorized leaks to the media.

Newly released November 2016 emails reveal that James Comey was guiding his media mole, Daniel Richman, and authorized leaks to the media.

Comey’s case was thrown out after a separate Clinton judge dismissed the case based on the Appointments Clause.

Earlier this month, Judge Kollar-Kotelly ordered the DOJ to return all data it seized from Daniel Richman.

Over the weekend, Kollar-Kotelly blocked the DOJ from searching Richman’s materials.

“ORDERED that the Government shall not review Petitioner Richman’s materials for any additional classified material beyond the single classified memorandum from Mr. Comey that was originally contained in Petitioner Richman’s personal computer hard drive without first obtaining a valid search warrant,” Kollar-Kotelly wrote.

Judge Kollar-Kotelly also gave Attorney General Pam Bondi until January 5, 2026, to certify the transfer of Richman’s data.

Bombshell Resurfaced Video Shows Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz Admitting He Knew About Somali Fraud Scandal But Failed to Keep Taxpayers Informed

Governor speaking at a podium during a press conference, flanked by American and state flags, with officials in the background.

Earlier this month, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz openly confessed that his administration should have been more transparent with taxpayers about the massive Somali-linked fraud schemes that have plagued state programs, potentially costing billions in federal funds.

The video, which has gone viral on social media in the wake of Nick Shirley’s bombshell reporting on Somali daycare centers, shows Walz admitting to knowing about the ongoing fraud during a press conference on December 12.

Standing before the American and Minnesota flags in the Capitol rotunda, Walz addressed the media about ongoing investigations into fraud in multiple state-run programs, including child nutrition initiatives like Feeding Our Future, autism services, and other social welfare programs.

In the clip, Walz states:

“I think what the president did was elevate it. Uh, I do believe and I will fully own this we should have been keeping Minnesotans more up to speed on what was happening.”

WATCH:

“We should have been, I think, on a better cadence as you see things that were happening in 2022 as the tools that were given to the administration would get there,” Walz rambled. “So again, after the fact, I—there’s a lot of folks talk about this. Um, I have seven years of proven this. I just fix these things and should we have fixed MNLARS before it got there? Certainly, certainly. We shouldn’t have gone through 10 years of trying to get a licensing system. But once we got there, once we figured it out. And I think that’s true.”

Walz’s reference to “what the president did” appears to allude to President Donald Trump’s recent criticisms of Minnesota as a “hub of fraudulent money laundering activity” involving Somali refugees.

Walz also announced new anti-fraud measures in response to the escalating scandals.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Sunday that the agency is actively investigating the Somali community’s schemes.

Patel said that denaturalization and deportation are on the table.

The fraud scandals date back to at least 2022, with federal prosecutors charging dozens of individuals, many from Minnesota’s large Somali community, in what has been described as one of the largest COVID-era fraud cases in the nation.

The Feeding Our Future program alone saw over $250 million allegedly stolen through fake meal reimbursements for children, with funds diverted to luxury cars, real estate, and overseas transfers.

US Southern Command announced the latest strike against a drug trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific in the Trump Administration’s campaign against narco-traffickers and the Venezuelan Maduro regime on Monday.

This is the first strike against a boat since last Monday, when US forces obliterated an apparent semi-submersible “low profile” vessel, “engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” killing one drug smuggler. Later in the week, US forces executed a land strike against a “big facility” in Venezuela, Trump said.

Today’s attack marks the 30th strike against drug boats in the Eastern Pacific and the Caribbean Sea.

Two “narco-terrorists” were killed in the strike, according to SOUTHCOM.

At least 107 drug trafficking narco-terrorists have been killed since the beginning of the operations in early September.

WATCH:

SOUTHCOM said in a statement,

On Dec. 29, at the direction of @SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed. No U.S. military forces were harmed.

Earlier on Monday, President Trump confirmed that US forces conducted a land strike against a drug trafficking facility in Venezuela.

“There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago.

Following a fight in Georgia during a Christmas Holiday party involving a machete, two illegals have now been placed on an immigration hold.

WRGA reports that according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) police arrived at a home in Gainesville, Georgia,

The alleged perpetrator, Carlos Hernandez Nicolas, 42, and the victim, 38-year-old Jose Turcios Garcia, reportedly got into a heated verbal argument.

HCSO said that the spat devolved into a physical altercation, and Hernandez Nicolas allegedly grabbed a machete and assaulted Turcios Garcia, severing his thumb.

WRGA reports:

The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for injuries that included an amputated left thumb. The HCSO said the machete used in the attack was later found at the scene.

Hernandez Nicolas was taken into custody and remains in jail without bond on a felony count of aggravated battery.

Turcios Garcia was released from the hospital and taken into custody and jailed on a failure to appear charge.

HCSO notes that both men were then placed under immigration holds.

An immigration hold, also commonly known as an ICE hold or immigration detainer, is a request issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency (such as a jail or prison).

In December, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) touted the Trump Administration’s “historic year” in a news release on Friday, celebrating more than 2.5 million deportations and a  93% year-over-year reduction in illegal border crossings.

November also marked the seventh month in a row with zero illegals being released into the country. On average, 245 illegals are apprehended at the border, down from more than 5,000 per day under Joe Biden.

President Trump revealed on a radio show late last week that the US had “knocked out” a drug facility in Venezuela as the campaign against foreign drug cartels and the Maduro regime intensifies.

The strike on Wednesday comes days after Trump told reporters, “Soon we’ll be starting the same program on land. The land is much easier.”

Trump confirmed the strike on a “dock area where they load the boats up with drugs” while speaking to reporters on Monday.

WATCH:

Trump: There was a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs. They load the boats up with drugs, so we hit all the boats, and now we hit the area. It’s the implementation area. That’s where they implement, and that is no longer around.

While discussing Venezuelan drug boat strikes on WABC Radio’s “Cats & Crosby” show on Friday, Trump first told co-host John Catsimatidis that the facility was hit two days prior:

Trump: Well, they’re only objecting because I’m the one doing it. If it were anybody else, even another Republican— let’s say you take a weak Republican, they would say “that’s all right.” But because they have Trump derangement syndrome, they’re sick people. There’s something wrong with them. But every time I knock out a boat, we save 25,000 American lives. It’s very simple.

And what’s happening is they’re having a hard time employment wise. They can’t get anybody. And we just knocked out— I don’t know if you read or you saw they have a big plant or a big facility where they send the, you know, where the ships come from. Two nights ago, we knocked that out. So, we hit them very hard, but drugs are down over 97%. Can you believe it?

US officials reportedly confirmed that the successful strike was launched against a drug facility inside Venezuela.

Per the New York Times:

American officials said that Mr. Trump was referring to a drug facility in Venezuela and that it was eliminated, but provided no details. Military officials said they had no information to share, and the Central Intelligence Agency declined to comment. The White House declined to comment.

If Mr. Trump’s suggestion that the United States had struck a site in the region proves accurate, it would be the first known attack on land since he began his military campaign against Venezuela. U.S. officials declined to specify anything about the site the president said was hit, where it was located, how the attack was carried out or what role the facility played in drug trafficking. There has been no public report of an attack from the Venezuelan government or any other authorities in the region.

While some officials called the facility struck a drug production site, it is not clear what role in narcotics trafficking the facility would have played. Venezuela is well known for its role in trafficking drugs, especially cocaine produced in Colombia, but has not been a major producer of narcotics.

Earlier this month, US forces began seizing Venezuelan oil tankers after Trump ordered a full blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers going to and from Venezuela.

The US has also executed at least 29 strikes against drug-trafficking vessels in the Eastern Pacific and the Caribbean Sea since September 2.

Last week, US forces took out a “low-profile” vessel in the Eastern Pacific, killing one male narco-terrorist. At least 105 narco-terrorists have been killed in these operations.

Trump snubbed Pelosi and refused to shake her hand as he approached the dais to deliver his speech.

Pelosi couldn’t stand to listen to Trump while he touted his accomplishments so she ripped up the president’s speech after he was finished speaking.

It was previously reported that Pelosi put tiny tears in each page before she dramatically ripped up Trump’s entire speech.

“So she made a tiny tear in the margin of the paper so that she could find this untruth. Then she found another thing she thought was untrue, and another, and another. She said by the time he was through speaking, the whole speech had little tears along the margins of things he had said that she said she thought were false. That’s when she decided, ‘I might as well tear this up,’” USA Today’s Susan Page previously told CNN.

At the time, Congressman Mike Johnson (now House Speaker) said Pelosi committed a felony when she ripped up Trump’s speech.

Johnson said Pelosi destroyed an official House record.

“Much has been said over the last 24 hours about Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s antics during President Donald J. Trump’s delivery of his State of the Union address Tuesday night,” Johnson previously said. “Her dramatic facial expressions and eyerolling were enough to violate the rules of decorum and the traditions of civility in the House, but when she ripped up the written document on live television, she crossed a different line.”

Nearly six years later and Pelosi is boasting about the viral moment she tore up Trump’s SOTU speech during an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl.

“People like the tearing up of the speech. I didn’t intend to go to the speech to tear it up. I just, the first part of it, I tore a page because he was lying. And then the next page, then the next page. I thought it was a manifesto of lies all throughout, so I better tear up the whole speech,” Pelosi said.

“Now, the speeches are on strong paper, so you have to do it a few times to get it done, but I had no intention of doing that. I thought my staff was going to die,” Pelosi said with a smile on her face.

Pelosi told Jon Karl that she gets more requests to sign photos of her ripping up Trump’s SOTU speech than anything else.
