Texas DPS seized $3.4 million worth of meth this week during a traffic stop in Live Oak County. The meth weighed just under 2,000 pounds. The meth was destined for the city of Dallas and was being transported in a commercial vehicle. Operation Lone Star‘s ongoing mission has helped make Texas a safer place.

This past Wednesday, a DPS trooper pulled over a tractor-trailer for a traffic infraction. The trooper became suspicious of potential criminal activity. Live Oak Sheriff was contacted to help conduct a search of the vehicle. The K9 unit was used to identify the trailer as a positive find.

The DPS trooper, along with the agency’s Criminal Investigations Division, found and seized 479 bundles of meth wrapped in black tape. The drugs were hidden in a fake floor compartment in the trailer.

The 32-year-old driver, Diego Mendez from Alton, Texas, was taken into custody. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance. It is considered a first-degree felony because it exceeded 400 grams.

Mendez is being held at the Live Oak County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing.

Texas DPS News Report:

WESLACO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized nearly 2,000 pounds of methamphetamine during an Operation Lone Star traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle in Live Oak Co. this week. The drugs were being transported to Dallas.

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, just after 3:30 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a blue 2020 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer for a traffic violation on US 281 near George West. During the stop, the Trooper noticed signs of possible criminal activity, prompting further investigation. A Live Oak Co. Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called in to assist and positively alerted to the trailer, which led the Trooper and Special Agents with DPS’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) to locate and seize 479 black tape-wrapped bundles of methamphetamine hidden in a false floor compartment beneath the trailer. The bundles weighed a total of 1,980 pounds and had an estimated street value of $3.4 million.

In addition to seizing drugs and arresting drug smugglers, Texas DPS also has a great track record of apprehending illegal aliens.

On Friday, Texas DPS brush team along with the Border Patrol, captured five illegal aliens in the Rio Grande Valley. Three of those were special interest illegals from Vietnam. The human smuggler guide Gaiell Ramirez, was only 17 years old, was also an illegal alien from Mexico. He was arrested and charged with human smuggling and evading arrest.

The illegals that were being smuggled were wearing colored wrist bands. The cartels use that as a way of tracking payment of those that they smuggle into the US.

Trump Humiliates Starmer, Dismisses Need for British Aircraft Carrier Ships in Middle East and Says ‘We Don’t Need People That Join Wars After We’ve Already Won!’

Picture by Lauren Hurley / No 10 Downing Street

Trump put leftist ‘U-turn’ Starmer in his place.

Failing Prime Minister Keir Starmer, leaving the United Kingdom out of the attacks on Iran and even denying the use of its bases during the military operations, is a betrayal and a cowardice.

But it’s also a consequence of the complete lack of preparedness of the British forces.

The British army is said to be at its smallest size since the times of Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century, and its once mighty navy is a shell of what it used to be.

Add to that the fact that Starmer is at once pandering to the Muslim vote and scared shitless of the left wing of his own detestable Labour party, and you have the shameful position he’s in.

(Official White House Photo by Daniel Torok)

But Donald J. Trump is taking the betrayal to heart.

Trump, the ultimate internet troll, has unleashed a barrage of criticism against Starmer, which is being compounded by lots of internal criticism, pushing the crisis-plagued PM against the ropes – yet again.

The US president went as far as humorously comparing the Labour leader to a massive British historical figure, saying ‘Starmer was no Winston Churchill’.

But now Trump’s jabs have gone from ridicule to humiliation with a touch of a threat.

Text from Donald J. Trump discussing the UK's decision to send aircraft carriers to the Middle East, expressing a strong opinion on the matter.

“The United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. That’s OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don’t need them any longer — But we will remember. We don’t need people that join Wars after we’ve already won! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

In one short post, Trump: 1) put the ‘greatness’ of the ally firmly in the past; 2) Dismissed the need for the British carriers; 3) Warned the Prime Minister that the US will remember; and 4) the humiliating finale: ‘We don’t need people that join Wars after we’ve already won!’

White House official Jarrod Agen dropped a bombshell during an appearance on FOX Business. Agen, serving as Deputy Assistant to the President and Executive Director of the National Energy Dominance Council (NEDC), laid out the administration’s long-term strategy to wrest control of Iran’s massive oil reserves from the clutches of radical Islamic terrorists.

According to Agen, the turmoil currently rattling global energy markets is a short-term cost that will ultimately deliver a strategic victory for the United States and its allies.

“This is a long-term gain because what we want to do is get such massive oil reserves in Iran out of the hands of terrorists,” Agen said.

“What we’re going to experience here in the short term is highly outweighed by the long-term benefit because ultimately, we’re not going to have to worry about these issues in the Strait of Hormuz because we’re going to get all of the oil out of the hands of terrorists.”

WATCH:

Agen’s comments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where Iran’s ayatollahs and their proxy terror groups have once again disrupted global energy supplies by closing the vital Strait of Hormuz.

This critical waterway, through which about 20% of the world’s oil passes, has been a flashpoint for Iranian aggression for years, thanks to the weak policies of previous administrations like Biden’s, which emboldened the regime with billions in sanctions relief.

The NEDC, established to cut through bureaucratic red tape and unleash U.S. energy potential, is now spearheading efforts to neutralize Iran’s oil-funded terrorism.

Agen compared the strategy to the successful turnaround in Venezuela, where U.S. intervention has revitalized oil production and sidelined socialist dictators

As oil prices spike due to the Strait’s closure, Agen emphasized the bigger picture: Short-term pain for long-term gain.

With U.S. production at record highs thanks to Trump’s pro-fossil fuel policies, America is positioned to lead the world out of this crisis.

Sen. Fetterman Slams Dems Who Voted Against Resolution Labeling Iran as State Sponsor of Terror: “Same Part of Same List that Refused to Condemn Hamas After Oct. 7′

John Fetterman on CNN’s State of the Union

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) joined Fox News to discuss fellow Democrats who refused to vote to label Iran as a state sponsor of terror.

On Thursday, 53 House Democrats voted against a nonbinding resolution reaffirming that Iran remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.

H.Res. 1099, sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) passed the House by a vote of 372-53 (with 2 Democrats voting present and 5 not voting).

All 53 “no” votes came from Democrats, including members of the Squad like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

Host Kayleigh McEnany asked Fetterman, “I know you’re not in the House, but I have to believe you have some thoughts on the 53 names we will scroll who did not have the audacity to vote to label Iran as state sponsor of terror?”

Fetterman responded, “Yeah, I mean, if you look at the same list, that was there, there are probably it’s the same part of the same list that refused to condemn Hamas after 10/7. So I mean, that’s part of our party.”

“And that 53, that’s almost 25% of Democrats in the House that can’t just call Iran as the world’s biggest terrorism underwriter. That’s where our party has been heading now. Now, anti-anti-Israel, that’s part of the ongoing conversation. I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t just identify that what Iran is. We all agree that.”

McEnany continued, “Yeah. Well, we unearthed some sound from the former Democratic nominee for President of your Party. Kamala Harris is sounding very different today versus just a short time ago. Let’s watch this.”

In October 2024, Harris was asked, “Which foreign country do you consider to be our greatest adversary?”

Harris responded at the time,” Well, there are different reasons that we should be thoughtful about each. Most recently, I think there’s an obvious one in mind, which is Iran. Look, I mean, Iran has American blood on their hands.”

On Sunday, Harris forgot her campaign rhetoric and stated, “Donald Trump has dragged us into a war the American people do not want. He has put American troops in harm’s way. I unequivocally oppose this war of choice, and everyone should.”

McEnany asked, “I mean, what happened?”

Fetterman responde, “Well, I mean, I think it’s what happened…..but first, I really have to say that now if someone identifies America’s top risk and/or threat, and someone dispatches that in about three or four days and makes it impossible for them to acquire nuclear weapons and their missile program, why isn’t that a good thing? I don’t know why that’s not a great thing.”

“And Hillary Clinton said the same thing back in 2015 when she was running (for) President. Virtually every Democrat that I’m aware of says we can never allow Iran to acquire nuclear bombs, and they were a significant, significant risk to America.”

“I know why they don’t say that now, because I’m aware that it is very damaging as a Democrat to just happen to agree with the President on anything.”

“But for me, that’s easy, a country over party.”

“Now, I don’t know why we can’t just be honest, saying that the last two professional candidates for the Democratic party all agree that we can never allow Iran to acquire nuclear bombs, and that’s made that possible now.”

“I think we can say, hey, that’s a great thing that makes the world more safe, more secure, and holds Iran accountable.”

Watch here.

Two presenters engage in a discussion, with one male host on the left and a female guest on the right, set against contrasting red and beige backgrounds.

Jesse Kelly of “The First” discussed declining birthrates and their connection to feminism. His guest was Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum.

The video opens with a clip from 2022 in which Elon Musk warns of declining birth rates and population collapse.

“Inez, why aren’t human beings having babies at the same rate they used to have babies?” Kelly asked.

“It appears to be a worldwide problem. What’s the problem?” Kelly asked.

“I think the fact that it is worldwide makes it much harder to pin on the source that you and I are both more than happy to blame, which is feminism,” Inez said.

“The feminist culture is part of the dropping birthrate, but obviously, there is a larger component. When you see the birthrate dropping in the Middle East, for example, I have a hard time imagining that feminism is the primary culprit there,” Inez continued.

“I think it is one of the most important questions that we can confront, but there isn’t a clear answer,” Inez said.

“A lot of people want to blame it on economics. But the fact is that during the great depression, people were still having babies,” Inez said.

“We seem to have lost our fundamental drive as a species and our confidence at replicating both our civilization and ourselves,” Inez explained.

“The reasons for the problems are probably different from country to country,” Kelly said.

“The numbers say that right-wingers they are getting married and they are making babies. Left-wingers have simply removed themselves from that pool almost entirely. Why?” Kelly asked.

“I think the values and the way that you see life obviously affects the decisions that you make about your family,” Inez said.

Inez explained that there are an increasing amount of older, childless women and that their politics is usually more to the left.

“There are simply a lot more single childless women hitting 40, 45 than there used to be. There is the highest in recorded American history,” Inez explained

“Not only are they not having babies, they also have wildly different politics than the rest of America,” Inez said.

Leftist-Globalist BBC Caught AGAIN Doctoring a Speech, This Time by US War Secretary Hegseth, Igniting Another ‘Impartiality’ Row in Britain

Dramatic AI-generated image of London skyline with burning buildings and smoke, featuring the iconic Big Ben and BBC logo in the foreground.
AI-Generated Image by Grok: The BBC is at once cause and effect of the decadence of British elites.

The ‘Beeb’ screwed up again – possibly on purpose.

For the leftist-Globalist bosses and crew at the British Broadcasting Company (BBC), it isn’t enough anymore to have highly biased reports filled with editorial content.

Now, they feel the need to go ahead and actually doctor speeches by people they loathe, trying to modify what they are saying, in maneuvers worthy of a George Orwell novel.

The ‘Beeb’ is already on the hook for billions, after deceptively editing a historic J6 speech by Donald J. Trump, as you can read in BBC IS MELTING: British State Broadcaster To Apologize for Doctored Editing of Trump J6 Speech, Under Fire for Its Pro-Hamas, Pro-Trans and Climate Change Biases.

Apparently, the BBC intelligentsia hasn’t learned a thing, so they went ahead and did it again.

Now, they are ‘plunged into a fresh impartiality row’ after altering a speech by US War Secretary Pete Hegseth regarding the military operations in Iran.

Daily Mail reported:

“In the broadcast aired to audiences within Iran, BBC Persian inaccurately translated the US Defense Secretary’s remarks, reporting that Washington intended to bring death to the Iranian ‘people’.

In reality, Mr. Hegseth had specified that the United States was targeting the Iranian ‘regime’.

The BBC, which carried Mr Hegseth’s Pentagon address live on Monday, translated the word ‘regime’ as ‘mardom’, the Persian word for ‘people’, before later issuing a correction.”

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth

The Telegraph reported:

“BBC Persian, which broadcasts to audiences inside Iran, mistranslated remarks by the US secretary of defense, telling viewers Washington was bringing death to the Iranian ‘people’. In fact, Mr Hegseth had said the Iranian ‘regime’ was being targeted.

{…] The mistake was seized upon by pro-Israel media campaigners, who claimed that it cast doubt on the BBC’s impartiality. It also triggered a backlash on social media.

[…] The error [also] drew condemnation from Iranians online, who accused the BBC of conflating ordinary civilians with the brutality of the regime and altering the meaning of Mr. Hegseth’s speech. […] In his speech, Mr. Hegseth said: ‘It turns out the regime that chanted ‘death to America and death to Israel’ was gifted death from America and death from Israel. This is not a so-called regime-change war, but the regime sure did change and the world is better off for it’.”

Two men engage in a televised discussion, with a city skyline visible in the background, focusing on current events and issues.

Tom Basile of Newsmax talked with retired Brigadier General Blane Holt about the air campaign against Iran.

“General Holt. All right. So, we’ve heard this now for the last couple of days that the biggest hits are really yet to come. We have heard that the B2 bombers are being moved in position if they have not been moved in position yet,” Basile said.

“What does this mean that the biggest hits are yet to come? First, talk to us about the targets, and then we can discuss what kind of munitions and air resources that we will use to do that,” Basile said.

“Certainly. Thanks for having me. So, what we are looking at is we are getting into the very serious parts of an air campaign that up until now has just gone flawlessly,” Holt said.

“So, we’ve taken out air defenses. We’ve taken out command and control nodes,” Holt said.

“When he says the big iron is about to be layed down, what he is talking to is two primary vectors of targets. One, that nuclear program is not going to see the light of day,” Holt said.

“The other one is setting conditions and battlefield preparation for a coming revolution. There is no reverse gear for this regime, and the revolution will begin and it’s gonna do it with the free Iranian people and likely the Kurds,” Holt said.

“So, now let’s talk about the munitions because you are talking about hitting these nuclear facilities. We are talking underground facilities in many respects. How do we do it?” Basile asked.

Holt explained that part of the strategy would be to attack underground facilities with bunker busters like the US did in June of 2025.

“You’ll see a repeat, maybe even a larger repeat of what we saw in June, which will be bunker busting bombs put at certain depths, designed to reap maximal damage to any type of storage, any type of lab work. We’ll also probably have a lot of clandestine operations on the ground,” Holt said.

“They said they had 462 grams of enriched uranium above 60 percent. We’re gonna want to find that,” Holt said.

“We need to get it off the open market,” Holt continued.

“Is the type of thing what you are saying this next phase that is going to require some measure of special forces work or boots on the ground activity in very limited scope in order to try to find some of this uranium and some of this nuclear material?” Basile asked.

“What I would say is there is the possibility and that is one of the options that we have specialized personnel that can go do that. There are intel assets on the ground that is obvious from different countries, and so I don’t know what the intel picture looks like on the ground, but I can tell you that it’s getting clearer and clearer by the day,” Holt said.

Israel and US Forces BEGIN Massive Strikes on Iranian Oil Depots and Refineries in Major War Escalation — Iran Fires Missiles at Haifa Refinery in Retaliation (VIDEO)

CNN live coverage from Tehran showing reporters discussing recent strikes, with visible smoke and flames in the background.

The war between the United States, Israel, and the Iranian regime dramatically escalated Saturday night after Israeli forces, coordinating with U.S. military assets, launched massive strikes targeting Iranian oil infrastructure in and around Tehran.

Israel’s public broadcaster KAN reported that the Israeli Air Force struck oil storage depots and refinery facilities in Tehran.

Israeli officials confirmed that the operation focused on fuel depots and energy infrastructure believed to support Iran’s military operations.

IDF wrote on X:

STRUCK: Several Fuel Storage Complexes Belonging to the IRGC in Tehran

Guided by IDF intelligence, the IAF struck these complexes, where the Iranian terrorist regime would distribute fuel to multiple military entities in Iran.

The strike significantly deepens the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.

In a statement to Itay Blumenthal, IDF said:

“We attacked several fuel depots that served the military forces of the Iranian terror regime in Tehran.” According to the statement, “The military forces of the Iranian regime use fuel tanks directly and frequently to operate military infrastructure, and with their help, the Iranian terror regime transfers fuel to various consumers, including military entities in Iran. This is a significant strike that constitutes an additional layer in deepening the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime. The IDF will continue to act forcefully in order to strike the regime extensively and remove threats to the State of Israel.”

Massive fires were reported at storage facilities as explosions rocked parts of Tehran late Saturday.

Social media videos show huge fires that lit up the skyline and sent thick plumes of smoke into the night sky.

CNN reported:

Israel has begun striking oil storage sites in Iran as part of the next phase of the war, an Israeli source told CNN.

The Israeli military said it struck fuel sites in Tehran on Saturday evening that distribute fuel “to various consumers, including military entities in Iran.”

“This is a significant strike that constitutes an additional step in deepening the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

Video from Reuters also showed flames and smoke rising from the Shahran oil refinery in Tehran.

On Thursday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Israel was moving to the next phase of the operation, but he did not detail what the coming steps entailed. In a video statement, Zamir said, “In this phase, we will further dismantle the regime and its military capabilities. We have additional surprises ahead which I do not intend to disclose.”

After the Tehran refinery was targeted, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it fired missiles at the Haifa refinery in Israel.

EU, Ex-Zelensky Spokeswoman, and Conservative Anti-Globalists Condemn Zelensky’s Unhinged “Armed Forces” Threat to Orbán

A diplomatic storm erupted this week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made remarks widely interpreted as a threat against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán—drawing exceedingly rare cross-spectrum condemnation from both national-conservative, anti-globalist critics of Kyiv as well as pro-EU establishment figures in Brussels who have otherwise been among Zelensky’s strongest supporters.

The controversy began after Zelensky publicly complained about Hungary’s refusal to approve a proposed €90 billion EU loan package intended to finance weapons and financial support for Ukraine. Hungary, under the leadership of its right-wing, anti-globalist prime minister, has repeatedly blocked the plan, arguing Hungarian taxpayers should not be forced to shoulder the costs of a war that has already strained Europe’s economy.

During a press briefing in Kyiv, covered earlier this week in a report by The Gateway Pundit, Zelensky suggested that the contact details of those responsible for blocking the funds could be handed to Ukrainian soldiers. He stated that Ukrainian troops could “call [Orbán] and speak to him in their own language”—the language of the military—a clear allusion to the language of violence.

WATCH: Zelensky Casually Threatens to Unleash Ukrainian Military on Hungary’s Viktor Orbán for Blocking €90 billion EU Aid

Hungarian officials immediately condemned the statement as intimidation. Government spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said Zelensky’s comments “went far beyond every acceptable limit.”
“When someone threatens to give a person’s address to Ukrainian soldiers simply because they refuse to support another €90 billion weapons package, that is not diplomacy—it is an open threat,” Kovács said.

Iuliia Mendel, a former spokeswoman for the Ukrainian presidency, even took the opportunity to sharply rebuke Zelensky over his inflammatory remarks targeting Orbán. Mendel warned that the arrogance and political blackmail now associated with Kyiv’s leadership were not features of Ukrainian diplomacy before Zelensky came to power, arguing that such behavior is only accelerating the country’s diplomatic isolation.

In a social media post, she cautioned that Zelensky’s confrontational rhetoric is damaging Ukraine’s position at a time when the country remains heavily dependent on foreign money and weapons. According to Mendel, Kyiv’s repeated clashes with Orbán—marked by pressure tactics and public insults—have become a serious strategic blunder.

The dispute comes amid worsening relations between Hungary and Ukraine, particularly after Kyiv halted Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia in January. In response, Budapest has threatened to block a €90 billion EU loan package for Ukraine as well as the bloc’s 20th sanctions package against Russia, further exposing the growing rift between nationalist governments defending their interests and Kyiv’s increasingly confrontational leadership.

The remarks triggered a rare rebuke from the European Commission, which warned Kyiv that threatening language directed at EU member states was unacceptable. Commission deputy chief spokesperson Olof Gill told reporters that Zelensky’s rhetoric crossed a line.

“We are very clear as the European Commission that this type of language is not acceptable,” Gill said. “There must not be threats against EU member states.”

The dispute reflects mounting tensions between Kyiv and Budapest, which have been locked in a bitter standoff over energy supplies, financial aid, and Ukraine’s ambitions to join the European Union.

At the center of the conflict is the Soviet-era Druzhba pipeline, which transports Russian crude oil through Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia. Hungary has accused Kyiv of deliberately halting the flow of oil through the pipeline earlier this year.

Budapest says the shutdown has driven up fuel prices and threatens energy security for Hungarian families. Ukraine denies the accusation, claiming the pipeline was severely damaged by a Russian drone attack.

Orbán has made it clear that restoring the pipeline is a non-negotiable priority for Hungary. Writing on social media, the Hungarian leader declared that his government would take decisive action to defend its national interests.

“There will be no deals, no compromise,” Orbán said. “We will break the Ukrainian oil blockade by force. Hungary’s energy will soon flow again through the Friendship pipeline.”
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó echoed the prime minister’s stance, accusing Kyiv of attempting to blackmail Hungary into supporting the loan package.

“No one can threaten Hungary or its prime minister,” Szijjártó said. “No one can blackmail us simply because we refuse to pay the price of Ukraine’s war.”

“I am not looking for trouble with the Ukrainians, but did President Zelensky expect us to sit quietly and twiddle our thumbs? Ukraine has blocked our oil from reaching Hungary. We cannot and will not accept this. Their plan is blackmail. My plan is resilience. Reopen the pipeline now,” Orbán wrote on X.

Across Europe, nationalist, anti-globalist, and sovereignty-focused politicians rallied behind Orbán, warning that Zelensky’s rhetoric reflects growing arrogance from a government that has already received massive financial support from European taxpayers.

The Patriots for Europe group in the European Parliament issued a statement condemning what it described as intimidation directed at a sovereign EU member state. The group stressed that such behavior undermines Ukraine’s claims that it shares the democratic values required for EU membership.

“Statements suggesting intimidation or threats of violence are incompatible with democratic principles,” the group said.

🚨 | Zelensky’s threats against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán are unacceptable.

Read our statement: pic.twitter.com/L8lx6UHE5P
— Patriots for Europe (@PatriotsEP) March 5, 2026

Members of the Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) alliance also voiced strong support for Hungary. Many warned that Brussels’ continued unconditional backing for Kyiv risks further destabilizing the European Union.

Austrian Freedom Party MEP Harald Vilimsky delivered one of the most direct responses to Zelensky’s comments.

“Not another euro for Zelensky and his corrupt gang,” Vilimsky said. “We stand with Hungary.”

Polish MEP Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik argued that Orbán’s stance is motivated by a simple obligation to protect his country’s citizens.

“Hungary did not take this step out of whim,” she said. “Ukraine halted oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline, causing fuel prices to rise. Prime Minister Orbán is simply defending Hungarian families.”

Spain’s Vox MEP Hermann Tertsch suggested that Kyiv’s actions may be part of a broader attempt to interfere in Hungarian domestic politics ahead of national elections.

“Zelensky has allowed himself to be used by Brussels to interfere in the Hungarian election campaign,” Tertsch said. “It is very likely that their plan will backfire.”

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico also entered the debate later on Thursday, publishing a video message on social media in which he voiced “full solidarity” with Hungary’s leader. Fico warned that if President Zelensky continues using such rhetoric, other EU governments may also reconsider their support for the proposed €90 billion financial package for Ukraine.

The dispute escalated further after Hungarian authorities detained seven Ukrainian employees of a state bank transporting large quantities of cash and gold through Hungary. Officials linked the detentions to suspected money-laundering activity.

Kyiv responded furiously, accusing Hungary of “state terrorism” and threatening sanctions in retaliation.

Meanwhile, European Council President Antonio Costa has reportedly begun efforts to mediate between the two governments in an attempt to prevent the crisis from spiraling further out of control.

Brussels fears that continued confrontation could jeopardize the €90 billion loan package, which Ukrainian officials argue is critical to sustaining Kyiv’s war effort.
Ukraine is expected to face severe financial shortfalls in the coming months, and EU leaders have pledged to provide additional funding to keep the Ukrainian government afloat.
But Orbán has repeatedly argued that endless financial transfers to Kyiv are unsustainable and risk dragging Europe deeper into a costly geopolitical conflict.
