A Shia mosque in Northern Virginia is honoring the legacy of Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Manassas Mosque hosted a remembrance service on Sunday for the Iranian supreme leader was killed in joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Tehran.
Located about 30 miles outside Washington, D.C., the mosque held a Ramadan iftar that sent “condolences and glad tidings on the martyrdom of His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.”
An Instagram post invited followers to attend as the community considered its “responsibilities” in the wake of his death.

The founder and imam of Manassas Mosque, Abolfazl Bahram Nahidian, has been identified as Ayatollah Khomenei’s “point man” in DC since the 1970s.
He allegedly received $5 million from Iran in the 1980s to support Iranian regime propaganda efforts in the US.

The mosque describes itself as “a community of pious, educated, socially conscious, and active Muslims” living in the local area and is known to have close ties to Tehran.
In 2023, House Republicans identified the Manassas Mosque in a letter to federal authorities as one of several U.S.-based Islamic institutions suspected of connections to Iran’s regime.
“A recent video of inside the Mosque showed that it is adorned with pictures of ‘martyrs’ of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a U.S. designated terrorist group, that were killed in Syria, a life-sized cutout of Khomeini, as well as Iranian flags and slogans,” they wrote the time.
According to The Washington Examiner, tax filings show the mosque received roughly $193,000 between 2004 and 2005 from the Alavi Foundation, an Iranian-linked organization later targeted by the Justice Department.
Federal prosecutors alleged the foundation funneled funds through U.S. holdings to Bank Melli, an Iranian state-owned bank previously sanctioned for supporting terrorism and nuclear activities.
However, the mosque is not required to publicly disclose detailed financial records because it is a registered house of worship.
After the October 2023 terrorist attack by the Palestinian terror group Hamas, mosque leadership expressed support for what it described as the “Palestinian Resistance.”
A since-removed blog post also praised Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian general killed in a 2020 U.S. drone strike, who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American service members.

The US Supreme Court on Monday blocked California’s secret gender transition policies for children and said the law likely violated parental rights.

NBC News reported:
The Supreme Court on Monday barred California from enforcing state rules that restrict when schools can notify parents about students who come out as transgender and requires teachers to use children’s preferred pronouns.
The court, on a 6-3 vote on ideological lines, allowed a federal judge’s ruling in favor of parents who oppose the policy on religious grounds to go into effect. The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had put the judge’s decision on hold pending further litigation.
The court’s ruling focused on the parents’ claim that their rights under the free exercise clause of the Constitution’s First Amendment were violated.
The court did not grant a similar request made by teachers who object to the policy.
“We conclude that the parents who seek religious exemptions are likely to succeed on the merits of their Free Exercise Clause claim,” the court said in an unsigned opinion.
“The parents who assert a free exercise claim have sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender, and they feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs,” the court added.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a blistering rebuke to critics on Capitol Hill Monday, dismantling claims that the Trump administration failed to properly notify Congress before launching decisive military strikes against Iranian targets.
While leftist pundits and some grandstanding members of Congress have suggested the administration acted unilaterally, Rubio set the record straight.
Speaking to reporters, Rubio revealed that the administration followed established protocol by notifying the Gang of Eight, the group of congressional leaders and intelligence chairs, well in advance of the operations.
Rubio said that U.S. officials knew Israeli action was imminent and knew retaliation against American forces would follow. The only strategic option, Rubio argued, was to act first.
“Within an hour of the initial attack on the leadership compound, the missile forces in the south and in the north, for that matter, had already been activated to launch. In fact, those had already been prepositioned.”
“If we stood and waited for that attack to come first before we hit them, we would suffer much higher casualties,” Rubio explained. “The President made the very wise decision.”
Speaking to reporters ahead of his classified briefing with lawmakers on the escalating conflict, Rubio made it crystal clear: the administration followed the law.
Rubio didn’t hold back when addressing the logistical absurdity of notifying every single member of the House and Senate before a sensitive military operation.
He also addressed the controversy surrounding the War Powers notification process, pointing out that the administration complied with the statutory 48-hour reporting requirement.
Marco Rubio:
We did. We notified Congress. We notified the Gang of Eight. We notified congressional leadership. There’s no law that requires us to do that. The law says we have to notify them within 48 hours after beginning hostilities. We’ve done that. I think the notification went today, but we did notify members of Congress in advance. But we can’t notify 535 members of Congress… Congress can vote on whatever they want, but there’s no law that requires us to do that.
I want to say something because I see people on TV—look, that’s fine. If they want to take a War Powers vote, they can do that. They’ve done that. They’ve done that a bunch of times. But people keep saying there’s a law that requires the President to have done something with regard to this.
To begin with, no presidential administration has ever accepted the War Powers Act as constitutional— not Republican presidents, not Democratic presidents.
That said, we followed the 48-hour notification requirement, and we’re here today. I’ve done more Gang of Eight briefings now than I got in the four years that Biden was President—and I was a member of the Gang of Eight.
All of that said, we’ve complied with the law 100%, and we’re going to continue to comply with it.
REPORTER: Why not notify Congress about this?
SECRETARY RUBIO: We did. We notified congressional leadership. We briefed the Gang of Eight twice. We have complied with the law 100%.

The House Oversight Committee on Monday released video of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s Epstein depositions.
Bill and Hillary Clinton agreed to testify before the Oversight Committee after Chairman James Comer moved forward with holding them in criminal contempt of Congress.
Hillary testified at an office in Chappaqua, New York, last week.
Hillary lost her cool a few times during the deposition.
At one point, Hillary Clinton shouted at GOP Rep. Nancy Mace during a heated exchange.
“I’m gonna answer your question! This is what I spent my time doing!” Hillary shouted as she slammed the table. “I was taking care of people who lost 3,000 lives at the World Trade Center!”
“You asked me about Howard Lutnick,” Hillary said.
Nancy Mace ran over Hillary Clinton and confronted her about an email from Lutnick to Epstein trying to raise money for Hillary.
“You wanna yell at me, I’ll yell right back! I’m looking out for survivors, I’m doing the job you would not do as Secretary of State,” Nancy Mace said.
Hillary Clinton insisted she did not know about Lutnick’s fundraiser email to Epstein.

Bill and Hillary Clinton appeared doubtful that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in the depositions with the House Oversight Committee last week, with Bill seeming unsure as his lawyers attempted to evade the question and Hillary flat out describing his death as “mysterious.”
Bill and Hillary previously refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee, leading to an attempt to hold the two in contempt of Congress, and they finally agreed to sit for interviews.
Bill Clinton, in his deposition, denied that Trump engaged in any wrongdoing and actually appeared to defend Trump when the Democrats attempted to bait him into saying Trump was implicated in Epstein’s crimes.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) said last week that the Clintons did not appear to believe the government line that Epstein killed himself.
Epstein apparently killed himself in a facility known for its stringent security measures, while the prison guards failed to do mandatory checks on Epstein. The guards were also asleep, falsified records to cover their negligence, and the cameras were reportedly not working.
The New York City medical examiner concluded that Epstein died by suicide via hanging. However, as The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Dr. Michael Baden, a renowned forensic pathologist hired by Epstein’s family, observed the autopsy and noted injuries more consistent with homicidal strangulation, including fractures of the hyoid bone and thyroid cartilage. But FBI Director Kash Patel dismissed this evidence last year, saying he’d never seen it!
When Luna asked Bill Clinton if he believes that Epstein committed suicide in prison, Clinton’s attorneys stepped in and tried to prevent the question from being asked until Luna finally reworded it, asking Clinton if Epstein was suicidal.
Clinton uncomfortably responded, “I don’t know. I only know what the medical finding was. I’ve accepted it in my own mind. I don’t know what happened.” He further stated, “none of us know” what actually happened.
WATCH:
Boebert: I’d like to ask you, personally and directly, do you believe that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself?
Attorney: Are you asking him to speculate on how Mr. Epstein died?
Boebert: I am asking what the President thinks of—
Attorney: So, you’re asking his opinion?
Boebert: Mr. President was your friend, Jeffrey Epstein—
Attorney: So, you’re classifying him as a friend, whom he has testified that he was friendly?
Boebert: He has called him a friend in a letter.
Attorney: He said he was friendly, but not— you’ve asked for his testimony here.
Boebert: Mr. President, do you believe that Jeffrey Epstein was suicidal? Was he ever suicidal?
Clinton: Was he ever suicidal? I don’t know. I only know what the medical finding was. I think maybe he finally got caught. I don’t know. I’ve accepted it in my own mind. I don’t know what happened.
Boebert: Mr. President, what did you accept, that he killed himself or that he did not?
Clinton: That he did, but I don’t know. We don’t– none of us know.
While Bill Clinton’s statements may not raise any serious red flags, Hillary Clinton, at one point in her deposition, recounted Epstein’s indictment, stating he “mysteriously died” while in prison.
WATCH:
Clinton: I can’t characterize their relationship. I think you can agree that he committed crimes, he was not fully held accountable for them, which could have stopped his predatory practices, perhaps, that continued for quite some time afterwards, and then he was finally indicted for serious crimes, and he was in prison, and then he mysteriously died. And with her, she was, you know, finally indicted, tried, and convicted. And I think you have to look at it in the chronological way in which it unfolded.
