The United States Is Already Headed for a Forever War

The United States Is Already Headed for a Forever War

The current war is already collapsing into a “mowing the grass” strategy.

President Trump Meets With His Cabinet At The White House

Let’s all give a hand for Marco Rubio, secretary of state, favored champion of the White House, and all-around cretinous worm. The Amazing Plastic Man—the adjective refers to his flexible principles, not his increasingly inflexible face—was hitting the airwaves this Monday morning to articulate the latest version of what the Trump administration regards as its war aims. Excuse me, military operation aims; President Donald Trump has figured out the One Weird Trick around constitutional checks on executive war powers. You just have to use the right words!

“Well, the war is—this operation, okay—and that’s what this is—is about very specific objectives,” Rubio told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

The president laid them out on the first night of the operation. I’ll repeat them to you now because I hear a lot of talk about ‘we don’t know what the clear objectives are.’ Here they are. You should write them down. Number one, the destruction of their air force. Number two, the destruction of their navy. Number three, the severe diminishing of their missile launching capability. And number four, the destruction of their factories so they can’t make more missiles and more drones to threaten us in the future.

Great, Marco. And why are we doing all that?

All of this so that they can never hide behind it to acquire a nuclear weapon. That was our objective from the beginning; that remains our objective now. We are on pace and in fact ahead of schedule on some of those things, and we are going to achieve those things in a number of weeks, not in a number of months.

Sneering tone aside—I assume Rubio would physically sneer, but for the Botox—this is a good enough articulation of what the administration thinks it’s up to right now. (Of course, that could change.) We’ll throw on as a coda thwarting Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz. (“Now, they are making threats about controlling the Hormuz Straits in perpetuity, creating a tolling system and the like. That’s not going to be allowed to happen.”)

We’ll give Trump, Marco, Pete, and the boys two gold stars apiece for destroying the Iranian air force and navy. Of course, neither of those august organs was regarded as much of a threat; Iranian naval weakness has been a matter of remark for years. Diminishing the Iranian missile launch capacity—well, mixed bag. Launch volume is down, and there has certainly been serious damage to Iranian missile capacities. Yet serious stuff is still getting through and causing havoc, especially as interceptor stores in Israel and the Gulf are run down. Even with a diminished capacity, Iran can cause problems. The destruction of factories: also a mixed bag. We have certainly destroyed an awful lot of Iranian industrial capacity, but when it is literally the missile and drone programs that allowed Iran to survive the attacks and avoid regime change, it seems highly unlikely that the Islamic Republic will not try to rebuild them any time soon. This is the Chinese finger-trap: The programs we want them to dismantle are the reason they’re still there.

Short of a Morgenthau plan for Iran, these programs will be maintained and expanded after the war. (Our Israeli comrades in arms would clearly be very happy to pastoralize Iran, but the United States is unlikely to have the stomach required for such an undertaking—not to mention that the great anti-Western terrorist movements have all been born in the vacuum of state power, in post-Soviet Tajikistan, post-invasion Iraq, and civil-war Syria.) Among many worrying points about this military operation, this is one of the worst: We have spent a spectacular number of resources in the past month, but we may still well be in the position of “mowing the grass,” of having to return to degrade rebuilt Iranian capacities again. This is a very expensive, politically difficult way of doing business; a quagmire in installments is no less of a quagmire.

Finally, there is the gnarly question of the strait. For this, no marks: The strait was open when the war started, and it is all but closed now. It is doubtful that the Iranians will give up this leverage. (Around the time Rubio was taking his turn on ABC, Scott Bessent was over on Fox News touting how the number of ships going through the Hormuz is increasing; though the only ships making the passage are those of non-hostile countries, which appear to be paying a toll to the Iranians.) There have been theories floating around about some sort of operation to take Iranian oil assets to cut off revenue and force them to the negotiating table—call it closing the Hormuz to open the Hormuz—but these undertakings are difficult to imagine at just this moment. Serious journalists and analysts like Ken Klippenstein and Will Thibeau, a TAC alum, have expressed skepticism that the current level of troops in the theater can be much use for actual ground operations, either clearing the coast to secure the strait or seizing the Kharg Island oil hub. The administration is at pains to remind everyone that American oil is not primarily sourced from the Gulf (although they studiously avoid touching the whole “global market” thing and the effect of constricted global supply on American energy affordability). The president himself is saying weird, cryptic stuff about controlling the Hormuz jointly with the ayatollah. There does not seem to be a settled solution here, and the rhetorical groundwork is being laid for justifying a suboptimal ending in the Hormuz. Again, if this round wraps up with Iranian constriction of the Hormuz intact, it will invite future intervention—more grass-mowing, or weedwhacking or whatever yardwork-based analogy you prefer.

Stupendously expensive and destructive military operations every six to 18 months for the foreseeable future does not seem like an appreciably better outcome than the Bush-era occupations. Indeed, I’d go so far as to describe such a state as “forever war.” As has always been the case, any durable solution will be political and diplomatic—but that’s not this administration’s strong suit, is it?

Shocking New Numbers Show More People Have Fled California Than Previously Known

Gavin Newsom – Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Under Governor Gavin Newsom, California has been losing population for the first time in history. This has been known for a few years now.

What we did not know until now is just how bad the numbers really are.

According to newly available data, the situation is worse than anyone realized.

The New York Post reports:

Mass exodus from Los Angeles revealed in shocking new figures

Tens of thousands of residents are fleeing Los Angeles County, raising fresh questions about the region’s future as economic pressures mount.

The region recorded the largest population drop of any in the nation between July 2024 and July 2025, according to newly released estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The data, published March 26, shows roughly 54,000 residents left the county during that one-year period. The losses mark a continuation of a steady slide for the nation’s most populous county.

Once home to more than 10 million people in 2020, Los Angeles County’s population has now dipped to just under 9.7 million, KTLA reported.

While the raw number of departures is eye-catching, experts say the broader trend may be even more concerning: fewer people are coming in to replace those who leave.

Neighboring regions appear to be benefiting.

Riverside and San Bernardino counties together gained more than 21,000 residents over the same period, according to the data, while the Las Vegas metro area also saw an influx of more than 20,000.

Despite the outflow, Los Angeles County still dwarfs every other county in the U.S., with nearly double the population of the second-largest, Cook County, Illinois.

Look at the animated graphic below:

Gavin Newsom is currently looking like the front runner for the 2028 Democrat nomination.

What he an his party do not seem to realize is that he is going to have to answer for all of this.

Why are Americans fleeing his state when it should be the exact opposite?

SURPRISE! Zohran Mamdani’s New ‘Free’ Childcare Program is Going to Cost $60,000 Per Child

Are you sitting down? This is shocking news.

It turns out that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new ‘free’ childcare program isn’t free at all. In fact, it’s going to cost $60,000 – Per child. Of course, it’ll be free for the people who get the service, but not for the taxpayers who are funding it.

This is the shell game that is always played by leftists. Nothing is free and they know it. Someone always pays.

Oh and by the way, this is just the rollout of the program. You know it will cost more down the road.

The New York Post reports:

Mamdani rolls out $2.3M day care pilot for NYC workers with hefty $60K cost per kid

The cost of “free” child care is soaring.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the opening of a new daycare center for municipal workers Monday that will cost more than double the average price of child care — to a tune of nearly $60,000 per kid.

The pilot program will start this fall on the first floor of David N. Dinkins Municipal Building in Lower Manhattan after a multi-million-dollar renovation of a room for just 40 children, ages six weeks to 3 years old.

The childcare center co-ops an initiative of Mamdani’s predecessor, Mayor Eric Adams, that was announced in October.

Mamdani said the Adams administration didn’t allocate operating funds for the center, which Hizzoner said would have a $2.3 million price tag and will be included in the city’s upcoming executive budget.

That works out to $57,500 per child to attend the day care from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On average, day care costs in the city for infants come in at $26,000 and $23,400 for toddlers, according to the city comptroller’s office.

City Hall didn’t respond to questions about the soaring cost to the city compared to private center-based programs.

That’s strange. Why do you suppose Mamdani’s city hall didn’t respond to questions?

Is this Minneapolis all over again? It certainly could be. But it’s free, right?

Far Left Activists Pressure Providence, RI Mayor to Stop Creation of Mural Honoring Murder Victim Iryna Zarutska (VIDEO)

Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Far left activists in Providence, Rhode Island have pressured the mayor to halt the creation of a mural honoring the memory of Iryna Zarutska, the legal immigrant from Ukraine who was murdered by a repeat offender on a train in North Carolina.

The mural was being painted on a wall next to a gay bar in the city. The owners of the bar had no problem with it until leftists started claiming that the mural would be a ‘far right’ symbol.

Providence Mayor Brett Smiley, a Democrat, caved to the activists immediately. This is all so pathetic.

WJAR News in Providence reports:

Providence Mayor Smiley calls for removal of controversial mural honoring slain refugee

What began as a memorial for a slain Ukrainian refugee has transformed into a political lightning rod in the “Creative Capital,” with Mayor Brett Smiley now calling for the artwork’s removal.

The mural, located on the exterior of The Dark Lady, a prominent LGBTQ+ club downtown, remains incomplete as city officials and community members clash over its message and funding.

The Mayor’s Office confirmed Sunday that Smiley wants the mural of Iryna Zarutska taken down.

He later released the following statement: “The murder of the individual depicted in this mural was a devastating tragedy, but the misguided, isolating intent of those funding murals like the one across the county is I continue to encourage our community to support local artists whose work brings us closer together rather than divide us.”…

Artist Ian Gaudreau, who began the work last week, told NBC 10 News on Friday that he never intended for the tribute to be political. Some residents visiting the site over the weekend echoed that sentiment, urging the community to focus on the victim rather than the politics.

Independent New England journalist John Gately did a report on this which you can watch below:

The mayor of Providence should be ashamed of himself. He calls this mural divisive. Can you even imagine a Democrat saying such a thing about the many murals of George Floyd? Of course not. It would never happen.

Democrats just don’t want to be reminded that their policies are responsible for Zarutska’s death.

Bombshell Defense Filing: ATF Cannot “Identify” Bullet in Charlie Kirk Assassination With Accused’s Rifle

A court filing by Tyler Robinson’s defense on Friday reveals the ATF has not been able to “identify” the bullet recovered in the autopsy of slain Turning Point USA leader Charlie Kirk with the rifle allegedly used in the September 10 shooting at Utah Valley University, according to the Daily Mail. Kirk was reportedly killed instantly by a single rifle shot that tore through his upper body and ripped open the carotid artery in his neck.

While not definitive (the bullet could be misshapen from the shooting), until it is resolved, the claim by the defense will fuel concerns about the circumstances of Kirk’s murder and whether Robinson was the shooter.

Daily Mail excerpt:

The bullet that killed conservative commentator Charlie Kirk did not match the rifle used by suspected killer Tyler Robinson, a bombshell new court filing states.

Robinson, 22, is facing capital murder charges and a potential death sentence for Kirk’s murder at Utah Valley University on September 10.

But his defense attorneys now argue that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ‘was unable to identify the bullet recovered at autopsy to the rifle allegedly tied to Mr Robinson.’

The defense team may now offer the ATF firearm analyst’s testimony as exculpatory evidence, they said in a motion filed on Friday to push the preliminary hearing back at least six months, Fox News reports.

It also notes that DNA reports filed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and ATF will take time for the defense team to analyze because reports indicated that several different DNA were found on some items of evidence.

Fox News reported further on the defense’s court filing (excerpt):

Attorneys for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating conservative icon Charlie Kirk, have revealed who prosecutors intend to call to the stand and also asked the court to delay the preliminary hearing.

The filing, made by defense attorneys on Friday, states that prosecutors intend to call Robinson’s parents and his roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, to testify at the preliminary hearing. Robinson’s defense team is also asking the judge for a minimum six-month delay for the preliminary hearing, which is currently scheduled for May 18.

Robinson’s defense team said that defense attorneys received over 600,000 files from prosecutors during a meeting on March 12, which she says will take time to review. She also noted that the discovery isn’t complete yet.

“Discovery in this case is incomplete, voluminous, and the processing of it is complex,” the defense team wrote.

One of the defense’s experts, a forensic biologist, said she’d need six months to review the evidence.

Early in the case prosecutors filed an alleged text message chain between Robinson and his alleged male transgender lover Lance Twiggs in which he confessed to the shooting (via the BBC)

Robinson: drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.

[When the roommate looked under the keyboard, there was a note that allegedly read: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”]

Roommate: “What?????????????? You’re joking, right????

Robinson: I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.

Roommate: you weren’t the one who did it right????

Robinson: I am, I’m sorry

Roommate: I thought they caught the person?

Robinson: no, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering.

Roommate: Why?

Robinson: Why did I do it?

Roommate: Yeah

Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.

Robinson: If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.

Robinson: If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.

Roommate: How long have you been planning this?

Robinson: a bit over a week I believe. I can get close to it but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don’t wanna chance it

Robinson: I’m wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle…. I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpas rifle … idek if it had a serial number, but it wouldn’t trace to me. I worry about prints I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. didn’t have the ability or time to bring it with…. I might have to abandon it and hope they don’t find prints. how the [expletive] will I explain losing it to my old man….

only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel….

remember how I was engraving bullets? The [expletive] messages are mostly a big meme, if I see “notices bulge uwu” on fox new I might have a stroke alright im gonna have to leave it, that really [expletive] sucks…. judging from today I’d say grandpas gun does just fine idk. I think that was a $2k scope;-;

Robinson: delete this exchange

Robinson: my dad wants photos of the rifle … he says grandpa wants to know who has what, the feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. Hes calling me rn, not answering.

Robinson: since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga.

Robinson: Im gonna turn myself in willingly, one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff.

Robinson: you are all I worry about love

Roommate: I’m much more worried about you

Robinson: don’t talk to the media please. don’t take any interviews or make any comments. … if any police ask you questions ask for a lawyer and stay silent

GROSS! Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Ravages a Taco on Camera in Humiliating Attempt to to Troll Leading Republican Challenger Andy Biggs (VIDEO)

Woman with glasses enjoying a snack outdoors, showing a range of expressions while eating, with palm trees in the background.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, who clearly has no good policy or ideas to run on, decided to take her reelection campaign to social media by turning herself into a meme.

If you needed any more proof that Katie Hobbs is not a serious politician, look no further.

Hobbs, in an apparent effort to prove how culturally enlightened and relatable she is, made a cringeworthy and unappetizing video of herself chomping into a taco on camera like no normal person would, with an apparent challenge to the leading Republican gubernatorial candidate to do the same.

This comes after a recent appearance on The Conservative Circus with local radio host James T. Harris, during which Biggs was asked whether he would eat a taco on camera.

“I don’t think so,” Biggs said, laughing.

“I have a problem eating tacos, brother,” he added. “Half of it ends up down my shirt.”

So, Hobbs came out with the video on Social media, writing, “Who doesn’t like a taco?”

“What?” she exclaimed after playing an audio tape of Biggs saying he probably wouldn’t do that, then proceeded to stuff the taco in her face.

Notably, her taco already had a bite taken out, indicating she likely had to do multiple takes before getting it right.

WATCH:

It can be recalled that Hobbs stole the 2022 election from Trump-Endorsed Kari Lake in an election marred by fraud and errors, including 60% of voting machines in Maricopa County, where 60% of voters live, failing on election day.

Notably, Hobbs administered the rigged election herself as Secretary of State and was declared the winner after they found enough ballots in the weeks-long vote-counting process.

The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Jaden Ivey after calling out the NBA for celebrating Pride Month.

ESPN reported Ivey was released for “conduct detrimental to the team” after he released a video of himself calling the NBA decision to celebrate Pride Month “unrighteous.”

Ivey, in a viral video, stated, “They proclaim Pride Month in the NBA. They say come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness. They proclaim it.”

Per ESPN:

The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Jaden Ivey due to conduct detrimental to the team, they announced on Monday.

The news comes after Ivey posted a series of videos on social media in recent weeks, with one calling out the NBA for celebrating Pride Month, saying it’s celebrating “unrighteousness.”

Ivey, 24, has spoken in the past of dealing with depression.

The Bulls acquired Ivey in a trade with the Detroit Pistons last month. He appeared in four games for the Bulls before being shut down for the rest of the season due to a left knee injury.

Ivey was drafted with the No. 5 pick in 2022 and featured early for a rebuilding Pistons team before knee issues limited him to just 30 games in 2024-25 and kept him out for several games this season.

In Ivey’s Instagram bio, he has written, “Giving your life to Jesus is the greatest decision you can make.”

The NBA has received backlash in recent months for advocating liberal activism.

In January, the NBA cancelled a game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors after Alex Pretti, 37, was fatally shot by an ICE officer in Minneapolis after resisting the officer’s commands.

The Timberwolves later held a moment of silence for the anti-ICE activist.

JUST IN: Swalwell Panics, Sends Kash Patel Cease and Desist Letter as FBI Director Pushes to Release Salacious Fang Fang Files

Eric Swalwell is panicking as Kash Patel pushes to release salacious files related to his relationship with Chinese spy and honeypot Fang Fang.

Democrat Rep. Swalwell is currently running for Governor of California.

Lawyers for Rep Eric Swalwell sent FBI Director Kash Patel cease and desist letter.

“Attorneys for Rep. Eric Swalwell demanded in a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel that the bureau refrain from releasing decade-old investigative files involving the congressman’s purported ties to a suspected Chinese intelligence operative,” the Washington Post reported on Monday.

“Swalwell’s attorneys said in their letter that there was no justification for releasing the files, especially since the congressman had assisted the FBI in its investigation,” WaPo reported.

“The congressman has never been accused of wrongdoing in that matter and your attempt to release the file is a transparent attempt to smear him and undermine his campaign for governor of California,” the letter said, according to WaPo. “Your actions threaten to expose you, others at the FBI, and the FBI itself to significant legal liability.”

In was previously reported that the Intel Community has a classified report detailing Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s intimate relationship with Chinese spy and honeypot Fang Fang.

According to Axios, Fang Fang was a “bundler” for Eric Swalwell and other Democrat candidates but it was also reported the Chinese spy had an intimate relationship with Swalwell.

A source on Capitol Hill previously confirmed to the Federalist that Swalwell indeed had a sexual relationship with Fang Fang.

Despite the Chinese spy scandal, Swalwell remained on the House Intelligence Committee (thanks to Pelosi) and had access to some of the nation’s most highly classified information.

In 2021, Breitbart News reported that China puppet Joe Biden was hiding the classified report on Swalwell’s sexual relationship with Fang Fang.

“The report, which intelligence and national security sources familiar with its contents who spoke on condition of anonymity told Breitbart News, contains details of the nature of Swalwell’s relationship with Fang Fang including certain sexual acts they allegedly engaged in together. Sources familiar with it, however, would not provide any more detail on the nature of those acts or other details in the report—which is currently classified,” Breitbart News reported.

“For those who have seen the details of the Swalwell case, it was shocking that Pelosi and Schiff so willingly kept him on the intelligence committee even for nakedly partisan lawmakers like themselves,” a former senior national security official familiar with the details of the report told Breitbart News.

Conservative reporter Nick Sortor previously confronted a drunk Swalwell about his relationship with Fang Fang.
