Dozens of Americans sought asylum in the Netherlands in 2025, with Dutch reports confirming 76 total applications filed during the year. Early 2025 figures showed 20 applications in the first three months alone, already exceeding prior annual totals. About half of the early applicants were transgender.

Under the 1951 Refugee Convention and Dutch law, asylum requires a well-founded fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group, a category that can include LGBTQ identity.

The Dutch asylum system grants protection to LGBTQ individuals from countries where persecution is documented and state-sanctioned. LGBTQ people from Iraq and Afghanistan are classified as “groups at risk,” meaning limited evidence is sufficient to establish a risk of persecution.

For example, Iran’s Islamic Penal Code criminalizes all freely agreed same-sex relations, with penalties ranging from 100 lashes to execution, and Human Rights Watch has documented that Iranian authorities routinely use those provisions to arrest, detain, torture, and prosecute gay and transgender individuals.

Across the 76 countries that criminalize same-sex relations, five of which impose the death penalty, LGBTQ asylum applications in Europe have surged.

The contrast with the American cases is legally and factually significant. The United States is generally classified as a safe country of origin, which sets a high bar for American applicants.

Dutch authorities have stated that U.S. transgender applicants do not qualify for special treatment unless they can demonstrate persecution or an extreme breakdown of state protection. Most applications have been rejected.

The best-documented case is Veronica Clifford-Carlos, a 28-year-old visual artist from California. Reuters reported that her application was rejected by August 20, 2025, and that she subsequently filed the first known Dutch legal asylum appeal by a transgender American.

Her stated grounds were death threats tied to her gender identity and the broader policy climate under the Trump administration.

She was not a member of the military, but LGBTQ rights organizations cite U.S. military policies requiring personnel to serve in their birth gender, with corresponding uniform and hair standards, as well as the military no longer funding sexual transition procedures, as examples of a hostile climate in the United States worthy of an asylum claim.

The U.S. is considered a safe country for LGBTQ individuals because there are no anti-LGBTQ laws.

No U.S. law criminalizes gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender identity. Same-sex marriage has been a constitutional right since the Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, and the decriminalization of same-sex conduct nationwide under Lawrence v. Texas in 2003 remains in force.

Legislation passed at the state level in recent years governs sex-based classification in specific government-administered settings.

Sports competitions are organized by biological sex, bathroom access in public buildings follows biological sex, and some states do not fund gender-transition procedures for minors through government programs and restrict or prohibit such procedures for minors regardless of payment source. None of these laws prohibit any activity on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

LGBTQ Americans have the same access to healthcare as any other citizen. No hospital may turn away a patient on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

No state has enacted a blanket prohibition on gender-transition surgery for consenting adults paying privately. Where restrictions exist, they are limited to government funding decisions.

Certain state Medicaid programs or federal insurance plans may decline to cover procedures they classify as elective, or restrictions may apply within specific institutional systems such as military healthcare.

These are coverage distinctions, not denials of care, and they parallel the way government insurance programs treat other elective procedures across the general population.

Transgender individuals are not banned from military service. They may enlist and serve, subject to the same standards applied to all service members.

Personnel serve according to biological sex, and individuals on certain medications, including cross-sex hormones, are subject to the same medical fitness evaluations that apply to any soldier on medication affecting combat readiness. These are force-wide standards, not identity-specific prohibitions.

LGBTQ individuals retain full civil and legal rights and access to courts. Internal relocation within the United States is also available, a factor Dutch immigration authorities explicitly cited in rejecting American asylum claims.

The Dutch court that rejected the Clifford-Carlos application ruled that exclusion from a sports category or a military classification “may be unpleasant and horrible, but it’s not seen as persecution in the eyes of Dutch immigration officials.”

Under the 1951 Refugee Convention, persecution requires a well-founded fear of serious harm from the state or groups the state cannot control, a standard met in countries where same-sex conduct is punishable by imprisonment or execution, but not in the United States.

An ironic twist to this story is that liberals hate ICE detention centers, which they mistakenly call “concentration camps” or “death camps,” although their purpose is simply processing for deportation.

Americans arriving in the Netherlands enter the standard asylum process, registering at Ter Apel, a small village in the northeastern Netherlands, which hosts the country’s main asylum reception center before transfer to COA reception centers. These centers are essentially the Dutch equivalent of ICE detention centers.

Americans arriving in the Netherlands enter the standard asylum process, registering at Ter Apel, a small village in the northeastern Netherlands that hosts the country’s main asylum reception center, before transfer to COA reception centers. These centers are essentially the Dutch equivalent of ICE detention centers.

Like all state-funded programs, they have been criticized for overcrowded conditions. A Dutch court fined the asylum agency over overcrowding at Ter Apel.

Once enough Americans have been sent to these detention centers, liberals in the United States will take to the streets with signs reading “Ban Dutch Asylum” and “Dutch Asylum is Hitler.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the arrest of Jordanian national Salah Sarsour in Milwaukee. Sarsour, who is President of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee (ISM) — Wisconsin’s largest mosque, is being held in ICE custody in Indiana.

Sarsour is also a board member of the national pro-Palestinian advocacy organization American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).

DHS says Sarsour is a terrorist and was convicted of throwing Molotov cocktails at the homes of Israeli soldiers. Sarsour then allegedly lied on his U.S. immigration applications to obtain a green card under President Bill Clinton.

DHS shared, “Today, @ICEgov arrested a Jordanian national with a prior conviction for THROWING A MOLOTOV COCKTAIL at the homes of Israeli Forces.”

“He lied on his immigration application and became a green card holder under President Clinton.”

“This terrorist will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.”

Sarsour raised funds for the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), which was shut down by the US government. In 2008, the HLF was found guilty of funneling over $12 million to Hamas terrorists.

Sarsour has been tied to radical squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-WI), who arranged fundraising events for her in both 2018 and 2020.

The watchdog group Canary Mission notes:

On November 5, 2001, Salah Sarsour was reportedly listed [p.49] in an 2001 F.B.I. Action Memorandum as a fundraiser for Hamas in the United States.

The memorandum stated that Salah’s “involvement with HAMAS” and his fundraising “activities” for the terror group were through the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). The memorandum also stated [p.49] that Salah’s brother Imad was also a Hamas fundraiser.

Five individuals were indicted for funneling funds to Hamas in the guise of humanitarian aid through HLF. The men were all convicted and sentenced in 2009 to federal prison terms ranging from 15 to 65 years.

Pam Bondi FIRED — Epstein Files Mishandling ENDS Career…

President Donald Trump removed Attorney General Pam Bondi from her position as America’s top law enforcement officer, ending her tenure amid mounting criticism over the Justice Department’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein files. The longtime Trump ally will transition to an undisclosed private sector role, with her deputy Todd Blanche taking over the nation’s top legal position.

Epstein Files Controversy Drives Decision

Sources familiar with Trump’s thinking confirm the President grew increasingly frustrated with Bondi’s management of the Epstein case over several months. When she took office in February 2025, Bondi pledged full transparency and promised to release client lists associated with the disgraced financier who died in 2019. Instead, millions of files only came out after Congress passed legislation forcing their release. The Justice Department faced bipartisan backlash for failing to properly redact survivor information while simultaneously protecting others not identified as victims.

Combative Congressional Hearing

Less than two months ago, Bondi appeared before Congress in a contentious hearing where exchanges with lawmakers descended into shouting matches. During the session, she called one Democratic representative a “washed-up loser” as tensions flared over the Epstein investigation. The heated confrontation foreshadowed her departure, though Trump publicly defended her performance as recently as Thursday morning, calling her “a wonderful person” doing “a good job.”

Second Major Cabinet Departure

Bondi becomes the second Trump administration official ousted in recent weeks, following Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s removal in March. Trump praised Bondi’s efforts in a Truth Social post, crediting her with overseeing “a massive crackdown in crime across our country.” Her successor Blanche denied media reports that the Epstein files influenced the decision, telling Fox News that Bondi “made our country safe again” and performed excellently during her first year.

Congressional Response and Next Steps

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, a vocal critic of the Epstein files handling, expressed hope the next Attorney General would “release all the Epstein files according to the law and follow up with investigations, prosecutions and arrests.” California Democrat Ro Khanna told BBC Newsnight that Congress should refuse to confirm Blanche unless he commits to investigating the matter thoroughly. Bondi stated she would work to ensure a smooth transition while continuing to support Trump’s agenda from her new private sector position.

Iran claims that it shot down a US F-35 fighter jet on Friday, as the conflict escalates with Trump threatening to ramp up attacks on Iran.

Reports of the incident and an ongoing search and rescue effort in Southern Iran remain unconfirmed at this time. However, if true, this could be used as justification for search and rescue and a larger ground operation.

Images of purported wreckage are circulating across the internet.

US Central Command denied reports that a jet was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, writing in a fact check, “All U.S. fighter aircraft are accounted for. Iran’s IRGC has made the same false claim at least half a dozen times.”

Per The Guardian:

Iran has said a second US F-35 fighter jet has been shot down over Iran, with the state news agency saying it’s unlikely the pilot survived, Reuters reports.

The incident comes as Iran has been firing on targets across the Middle East, on Friday, including firing missiles at Israel and Bahrain, and setting alight an oil refinery in Kuwait with drone attacks.

Last month, the US military said in a statement that a US F-35 aircraft conducted an emergency landing after flying a combat mission over Iran. The military said the pilot of that jet was in stable condition.

A spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central HQ said on Friday the second F-35 jet was shot down over central Iran by Revolutionary Guard air defences, with low chances of pilot survival, Reuters reported.

There was no immediate comment from the US, and the Guardian has not been able to confirm the report.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request from The Gateway Pundit.

This comes after President Trump posted a video of Iran’s B1 bridge in Karaj, the tallest bridge in the Middle East, being destroyed in an airstrike on Thursday.

“The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump said on Thursday.

Iranian state media also posted the following clip.

Trump delivered an address to the nation on Wednesday, where he said, “We’re going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We’re going to bring them back to the stone ages, where they belong.”

Still, the US is close to completing all objectives of Operation Epic Fury, Trump said while appearing to signal an approaching end to the war, regardless of whether Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

“In the meantime, discussions are ongoing,” he said, noting that “If there is no deal, we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously.”

President Trump argued on Friday that “a little more time” in Iran would allow the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and take the oil.

Earlier this week, the President suggested that he could withdraw troops from the Middle East and force Europe, Asia, and the Gulf nations to deal with Iran’s blockade on the Strait of Hormuz after they refused his calls for help. His comments came amid reports that Trump was ready to pull out of the war without reopening the Strait.

He further stated on Wednesday that the US military’s objectives in Iran are “nearing completion.”

However, in a Truth Social post on Friday, the President wrote, “With a little more time, we can easily OPEN THE HORMUZ STRAIT, TAKE THE OIL, & MAKE A FORTUNE. IT WOULD BE A “GUSHER” FOR THE WORLD??? President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

This comes after Trump addressed the nation on Wednesday and said the US will continue to hit Iran “extremely hard” for at least “the next two to three weeks.”

Trump also doubled down on his prior calls for Europe and the Gulf to take over the Strait of Hormuz, stating, “The United States imports almost no oil through the Hormuz Strait, and won’t be taking any in the future. We don’t need it. We haven’t needed it, and we don’t need it.” He continued, “The countries of the world that do receive oil through the Hormuz Strait must take care of that passage. They must cherish it. They must grab it and cherish it. They can do it easily. We will be helpful, but they should take the lead in protecting the oil that they so desperately depend on.”

“In the meantime, discussions are ongoing,” he said, noting that “If there is no deal, we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously.”

Trump later posted a video of Iran’s B1 bridge in Karaj, the tallest bridge in the Middle East, being destroyed in an airstrike on Thursday.

Hegseth Ousts Army Chief of Staff in Leadership Shakeup

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down and retire immediately, reported CBS News, marking the latest high-level leadership shake-up at the Pentagon. Gen. George was nominated by President Joe Biden and confirmed in 2023 for a four-year term.

The Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement that George, the Army’s 41st chief of staff, would retire effective immediately and thanked him for his decades of service. Gen. Christopher LaNeve, the Army’s vice chief of staff and a former military aide to Hegseth, will serve as acting chief of staff.

In concert with the removal of Gen. George, Gen. David Hodne, head of the Army’s Transformation and Training Command, and Maj. Gen. William Green, head of the Army’s Chaplain Corps, were also removed from their posts.

Hegseth has made a number of changes to the military’s top brass during his time as Secretary of Defense, including firing Gen. C. Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who Hegseth claimed had reached his position through DEI considerations.

West Virginia Expands Constitutional Carry to 18–20-Year-Olds

In a massive win for the Second Amendment and constitutional freedoms, West Virginia’s governor has signed legislation expanding “constitutional carry” to include 18- to 20-year-old adults.

The newly signed law, House Bill 4106, eliminates the requirement that young adults obtain a permit or provisional license to carry a concealed firearm, putting them on equal footing with citizens 21 and older.

For years, West Virginia allowed permitless concealed carry, but only for those 21 and older. Meanwhile, 18- to 20-year-olds were forced to jump through bureaucratic hoops, including mandatory training and licensing, just to exercise a constitutional right.

That’s now over.

The new law:

  • Eliminates the requirement for 18-20-year-olds to obtain a “provisional license.”
  • Removes the threat of criminal penalties for law-abiding young adults carrying for protection.
  • Standardizes carry rights for all legal adults, ensuring the Second Amendment isn’t gated behind an age-based paywall.

This major Second Amendment victory didn’t happen in isolation.

It comes as Governor Patrick Morrisey signed a sweeping package of legislation following the 2026 Legislative Session—focused on economic growth, public safety, and government reform.

“These are commonsense measures focused on opportunity, safety, and making government work better for the people of West Virginia,” Morrisey said. “We’re taking steps to grow our workforce, protect our communities, and ensure our state is prepared for the future.”

Among the highlights:

  • SB 402 – Workforce Readiness and Opportunity Act: Launches a micro-credentialing program to strengthen job readiness
  • HB 4009 & HB 4005 (Skills to Work Act): Expand portable benefits and hands-on workforce training
  • SB 490: Promotes short-term workforce training via Pell Grants
  • HB 4610 – Right-To-Try Act: Expands access to experimental, potentially life-saving treatments
  • SB 1026: Increases penalties for disrupting religious services while protecting lawful protest
  • HB 5638: Strengthens state cybersecurity infrastructure

The governor also signed additional reforms aimed at streamlining government and improving accountability, including:

  • Eliminating 25 redundant state boards and commissions (HB 5364)
  • Restoring oversight authority for student-athlete transfers (HB 4425)
  • Improving prescription drug oversight through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Act (HB 5430)
  • Requiring continued investigations into school personnel misconduct—even after resignation (HB 4395)

And notably:

  • HB 4106 — expanding constitutional carry to 18–20-year-olds

Declassified Files Deadline Sparks Deep State PANIC…

The Capitol behind Deep State puzzle pieces.

Deep State holdouts face a ticking deadline to surrender secret UFO files from U.S. military bases, raising alarms about government overreach and hidden threats to national security under President Trump’s second term.

Imminent Deadline Sparks UFO Showdown

U.S. authorities confront an urgent deadline to surrender classified files detailing mystery objects at military bases. This development ties into resurfaced CIA documents from the Stargate Project, alleging extraterrestrial bases on Earth, including Mount Hayes in Alaska. The project, active from the 1970s to 1995, used remote viewing to identify these sites. Declassified in 2000, files describe personnel at alleged ET bases. Skeptics dismissed results as unreliable, yet they resurface amid demands for truth. Trump’s administration now oversees federal accountability on these long-buried secrets.

Gen. McCasland’s Mysterious Disappearance

Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Neil McCasland, former commander of Wright-Patterson AFB, has gone missing. The base, a hub for Project Blue Book from 1947-1969, holds rumors of Roswell debris storage. McCasland commanded a $2 billion budget there until 2013 and featured in 2016 leaked emails tied to Clinton-era UFO disclosure plans. Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart calls the disappearance “bizarre,” linking it to classified UAP technology. Searches continue, raising questions about internal conflicts or risks to high-clearance insiders.

Congressional pressure mounts as Rep. Eric Burlison and whistleblowers like Jeffrey Nuccetelli testify on hidden UAP encounters. Veterans describe systematic cover-ups by the DoD and Pentagon, which oversaw the 2024 Yemen incident where a U.S. drone’s Hellfire missile deflected off a glowing orb. This video, shown in hearings, underscores advanced UAP capabilities unknown to conventional threats.

CIA Stargate Revelations and Historical Ties

CIA’s Stargate Project produced sketches of entities at consoles inside rocky bases during Cold War experiments. Locations included Mount Hayes, a UFO hotspot, plus sites in South America, Africa, and even Titan. The program ended in 1995 due to inconsistent results, but declassified files persist as primary sources. Historical precedents like the 1947 Roswell incident point to Wright-Patterson as a repository. These claims challenge official narratives, demanding scrutiny from Trump’s DoD leadership.

Stakeholders include the CIA, which ran Stargate, and private figures like Robert Bigelow, negotiating for unusual materials from Lockheed Martin. Power dynamics pit military secrecy against congressional hearings and bipartisan disclosure interests. Motivations range from national security to accountability, with whistleblowers alleging real threats hidden from Americans.

Implications for National Security and Transparency

Short-term, heightened scrutiny could lead to leaks if files surrender occurs, igniting public frenzy. Long-term, verified ET presence would shift paradigms, eroding DoD trust. Political impacts include bipartisan pressure, while economic angles involve aerospace deals. Affected communities span UFO researchers, military families, and Alaska locals near sighting hotspots. Under Trump, renewed focus on limited government rejects past overreach, prioritizing American interests over shadowy globalist agendas.

Expert views diverge: Believers cite psychic data as proof, skeptics label it pseudoscience. Ross Coulthart highlights McCasland’s disclosure potential. The 2024 Yemen video, authenticated in hearings, fuels cover-up claims. Uncertainties persist around the exact surrender deadline and McCasland’s fate, but demands for transparency align with conservative values of open government and protection from unseen threats.

Girl Who Went Missing in 1994 Found Alive

Christina Plante went missing without a trace in May 1994, when she was 13.

Christina Plante went missing without a trace in May 1994, when she was 13.

A cold case from another era finally reached its conclusion this week in Gila County, Arizona.

On Wednesday, the Gila County Sheriff’s Office announced via news release that Christina Marie Plante, who was 13 when she disappeared from Star Valley, Arizona, in 1994, has been found alive.

The Sheriff’s Office posted a copy of the news release to Facebook.

“Christina was reported missing after she vanished without a trace from her community,” the press release read. “At the time of her disappearance, extensive search efforts were conducted involving local law enforcement, volunteers, and regional resources. Despite exhaustive ground searches, interviews, and investigative follow-up, no viable leads were developed.”

The Sheriff’s office credited the subsequent formation of its own cold case unit, which led to “new leads” and eventually a “breakthrough.”

“Investigators have confirmed her identity,” the press release noted.

As for what happened to Plante nearly 32 years ago, authorities remained mum.

“Out of respect for Christina’s privacy and well-being,” the press release indicated, “additional details will not be released at this time.”

The Facebook post also included a flier with a picture of Plante as she looked around the time of her disappearance. The flyer included the word “LOCATED” in large red letters beneath and partially overlapping the photo.

According to the flyer, Plante disappeared on May 15, 1994, at 12:30 in the afternoon.

“She left home on foot to go to the stable where her horse was and [was] not seen again,” the flyer read.

Finally, the flyer described then-13-year-old Christina as “Missing/Endangered and under suspicious circumstances.”

Meanwhile, the full circumstances of Plante’s disappearance remain a mystery.

Reporter Jose Gonzalez of The Arizona Republic apparently uncovered an October 1994 flyer published in a Pennsylvania newspaper that described the girl’s disappearance as a stranger abduction. But authorities have not confirmed as much.

Most Facebook users reacted to the news with gratitude. Some, however, speculated about what might have happened to a teenage girl who, for context’s sake, disappeared early in President Bill Clinton’s first term, one month and two days before the late accused murderer O.J. Simpson’s infamous Bronco chase.

“Obviously, we’re all gonna be curious on what the circumstances were for the last 32 years. Maybe they’ll release them at some point,” one Facebook user wrote.

“Doesnt mean she hasnt been through severe trauma from age 13 til … Maybe someone kidnapped her and gave her just the best life … Its highly unlikely. Gave the gurl Stockholm Syndrome!” another Facebook user wrote.

Another user guessed that Plante ran away from home.

“Obviously something went down and she left for a reason. Glad she’s alive ve and well,” the user wrote.

Authorities have not indicated when — or if — they will provide details about what happened to Plante.
