Hungary’s incoming Prime Minister, Peter Magyar, during a press conference on Sunday.
Hungary’s prime minister-elect Péter Magyar said Monday that he would order the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes.
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in November 2024 over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Israeli military’s operations in Gaza as it waged war against the Islamic terrorist group Hamas.
Member states are expected to detain individuals named in such warrants.
Hungary previously refused to arrest Netanyahu during a visit in April 2025 under then-Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is an ally of the Israel leader.
Péter Magyar says he would arrest Netanyahu if he comes to Hungary:
I made it clear that Hungary intends to remain a member of the International Criminal Court.

Ahead of that visit, Orbán moved to withdraw Hungary from the ICC and guaranteed Netanyahu immunity. The withdrawal process takes one year to complete.
Magyar said he intends to reverse that decision and keep Hungary in the ICC.
“It is the Tisza government’s firm intention to stop this and ensure that Hungary remains a member of the ICC,” he said.
“If a country is a member of the ICC and a person who is wanted by the ICC enters our territory, then that person must be taken into custody.”
”Every state and head of government is aware of these laws,” he said.
However, he has also spoken of the need to have a “pragmatic relationship” with Israel and said the country remained an “important economic partner.”

Netanyahu was expected to visit Hungary later this year.
Other European countries have said they would not arrest Netanyahu.
The French government’s detention would conflict with other legal obligations, while Germany’s former Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he could not envision such an arrest.
Italy has also granted the Israeli leader immunity.
Magyar, who won last weekend’s general election in a landslide, has marketed himself as a globalist ally who will end Hungary’s relationship with Russia and improve relations with the European Union.
The world was shaken to the core forty years ago, on April 26, 1986, when an explosion in reactor number 4 of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant that destroyed the reactor core and ignited a graphite fire.
The worst nuclear disaster in history unfolded.
A massive plume of radioactive material was released into the atmosphere, contaminating large areas of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, with fallout spreading across much of Europe.

But today, four decades later, on contaminated land that is still too dangerous for human life, a variety of animals have returned to the exclusion zone.
Watch: blue dogs in Chernobyl – it’s actually not radiation, but a dye used in portable toilets.
Blue dogs spotted in Chernobyl
Volunteers in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone have discovered packs of dogs with bright blue fur, Daily Mail reports. According to researchers, the animals appear healthy and active despite their unusual coloration.
“Across the Chernobyl exclusion zone, Przewalski’s horses — stocky, sand-colored and almost toy-like in appearance — graze in a radioactive landscape larger than Luxembourg.
[…] Four decades on, Chernobyl — which is transliterated as ‘Chornobyl’ in Ukraine — remains too dangerous for humans. But the wildlife has moved back in.”
Pack of wolves in Chernobyl
“Wolves now prowl the vast no-man’s-land spanning Ukraine and Belarus, and brown bears have returned after more than a century. Populations of lynx, moose, red deer and even free-roaming packs of dogs have rebounded.”

Argentina’s President Javier Milei modeled his campaign after Trump’s, swinging a chainsaw while vowing to cut government waste. He is a professor of economics and advocates for less spending, less borrowing, and less welfare. Official White House Photo by Molly Riley.
Argentinian President Javier Milei, in a recent Instagram video, called Europe a “nanny state” because of its socialist programs that, in his words, take “proportionally from those who generate the most wealth, violating the principle of property and equality before the law in the process, to redistribute it to the rest of society as services.”
Milei is a former economics professor whose area of expertise is Austrian economics, an economic discipline that largely calls for the end of the central bank and identifies artificial interest rates, currency expansion, and government borrowing as the root causes of inflation. Austrian economists want as little government intervention in the economy as possible because government intervention, regulations, price controls, and rent freezes distort markets. Furthermore, they are vehemently opposed to welfare programs because income taxes used to fund such programs punish the hard-working and industrious while rewarding those who produce little or nothing.
Milei went on to say, “Without requiring any kind of contribution, the population that paid taxes for so many years ends up being defrauded, a system on the brink of collapse. As a result of these actions, Europe has been left without growth, without the rule of law, and today it’s becoming clear that its leaders have also lost all political credibility.”
One of only about ten conservative world leaders, Milei is a Trump ally. Like Trump, he is a strong supporter of El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, who brought his country’s murder rate to near zero by locking up gang members.
Milei opposes socialist multilateralism and BRICS but strongly favors free trade. Milei’s government has downgraded Argentina’s participation in the G20, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and Mercosur; withdrawn from the World Health Organization; pulled out of COP29; and reduced engagement at the UN Human Rights Council. His withdrawal from multilateral bodies tracks closely with President Trump’s approach.
Under his administration, Argentina’s economy has seen dramatic improvements. Monthly inflation fell from 25 percent in December 2023 to around 2 percent, and poverty dropped from 52.9 percent at its 2024 peak to 28.2 percent by mid-2025. In 2025, GDP expanded 4.4 percent, and Argentina achieved its first fiscal surplus in 14 years.
A core feature of Austrian economics is the primacy of human action. Formally, this is called praxeology in the writings of Ludwig von Mises, one of the most prominent Austrian economists. In layman’s terms, it can be understood as self-determination. Income inequality exists because one person’s labor is worth more than another’s.
As long as the government stays out of employment decisions, the best and most qualified people, whose work has the highest value, will be hired, and they will keep their jobs based on performance. Performance is measured by most employers through worker productivity, a type of return on investment based on the amount of value a worker produces per hour versus his or her salary.
In a pure, merit-based, for-profit economic model, there is no room for DEI, quotas, or any government program that forces an employer to hire the second-best candidate.
The example President Javier Milei gave in a recent video demonstrating the difference between capitalism and socialism was: “Suppose the following: you are a 100-meter runner. What is the problem you have? A gentleman named Usain Bolt. The guy is out of this world; he’s extraordinary. Faced with that situation, you’ll try to run better every day to see if you can beat him. The selfish solution is to beat him at any cost.”
According to Austrian economic theory, all humans act in ways they believe will make themselves better off. Consequently, we can assume that someone running the 100 meters wants to win. A number of paths to victory might cross your mind: “You could shoot him in the head, and then you win. Well, that solution is not allowed. Another solution is you could cut off one of his legs.”
He then went on to say what the socialists would propose: “to fill his backpack with stones.” However, in capitalism, “if you want to win, you have to run better than him.”
In another lesson against communism, Milei told a joke about a man named Pedro who had a little sheep that he was very happy with. His friend Juan, seeing how happy Pedro was, instead of being happy for him, became resentful. “And one day, while walking, he finds a lamp and a genie comes out of the lamp.”
The genie then tells Juan he will grant him anything he wishes. Milei points out, “Clearly, one of the things Juan could have asked for was for 100 sheep.” But that is not what Juan wished for. Instead, he wished for Pedro’s sheep to die.
“That is socialism. They don’t care about being better off, as long as the other person is worse off,” Milei observed. Evidence from every communist country that has existed shows that the only way communism can make everyone equal is by making them all poor, all but a select few corrupt officials at the top. But they are willing to make everyone poor in order to eliminate inequality.
“And when you have a system with those characteristics, a society with those values, inevitably, that society will self-destruct,” Milei concluded, adding that, looking at Europe’s suicidal economic and migration policies, “none of this should come as a surprise, because, as the saying goes, we can ignore reality, but we can never ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.”
President Trump’s Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer has resigned amid an investigation into her husband’s sexual misconduct in the latest Cabinet shakeup.
This is the third Cabinet official to leave in Trump’s second term.
Deputy Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling will replace Chavez-DeRemer as Acting Labor Secretary.
“Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer will be leaving the Administration to take a position in the private sector,” White House Comms Director Steven Cheung said.
She has done a phenomenal job in her role by protecting American workers, enacting fair labor practices, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their lives,” Steven Cheung said.

Shawn DeRemer, the husband of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, will not face federal charges over allegations of assault at the department’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, multiple sources told CBS News Friday evening.
After reviewing evidence, including security camera video, federal prosecutors have decided against charging DeRemer, the sources said.
In a statement provided to CBS News, a spokesperson for U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro said Friday night that “based upon the evidence presented to this office in relation to the video, there is no indication of a crime.”
Sources familiar with the situation had disclosed to CBS News earlier Friday that DeRemer had been told not to enter the department headquarters after two women who work there reported that he had touched them inappropriately.
Earlier this month it was reported that President Trump was considering further changes to his Cabinet after firing Pam Bondi as Attorney General.
President Trump has fired two high-level officials over the last month.
Trump fired Bondi as US Attorney General and fired Kristi Noem as DHS Secretary.
The President reportedly fired Bondi over her handling of the Epstein files and dissatisfaction with her leadership.
Kristi Noem was fired after she spent $200 million on an ad contract and lied to Congress and claimed it was with Trump’s approval.
Politico and the Washington Post reported a couple of weeks ago that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer may be on the chopping block – and on Monday Chavez-DeRemer resigned.
President Trump may make further changes to his Cabinet ahead of the midterms, just in case the Republicans lose the Senate.
Apple has announced that CEO Tim Cook will step down from his role in September.
Cook will remain with the company as chairman.
Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternus, has been announced as his successor.
“It has been the greatest privilege of my life to be the CEO of Apple and to have been trusted to lead such an extraordinary company,” Cook said in a statement.
He continued:
John Ternus has the mind of an engineer, the soul of an innovator, and the heart to lead with integrity and with honor.
He is a visionary whose contributions to Apple over 25 years are already too numerous to count, and he is without question the right person to lead Apple into the future.
I could not be more confident in his abilities and his character, and I look forward to working closely with him on this transition and in my new role as executive chairman.
Ternus has worked at Apple for over two decades and has played a key role in the development of major products, including the Mac and iPad.

Cook has held the position of CEO he has held since 2011, following the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Over the course of his tenure, he oversaw Apple’s rise to a multi-trillion-dollar company, expanding aggressively into services, wearables and global markets.
He also maintained a working relationship with President Donald Trump, meeting multiple times and navigating tariffs and U.S. manufacturing pressure while keeping Apple’s supply chain largely intact.

More than 250 journalists, including Dan Rather and Sam Donaldson, have signed an open letter demanding that the White House Correspondents’ Association turn this Saturday’s dinner into a stage for a direct, “forceful” confrontation with President Donald Trump.
The letter, sent to the WHCA on Monday, calls on the organization to use the podium at the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner to deliver a “forceful defense of freedom of the press and condemnation of those who threaten that freedom, followed by a standing toast to the First Amendment.”
“Speak forcefully, in front of the man who seeks to undermine our country’s long tradition of an independent, strong, and free press,” the letter says.
The letter reads in part:
We understand that some journalists plan to wear pocket handkerchiefs or lapel pins with the words of the First Amendment. And continuing in that spirit, we believe the White House Correspondents Association should take stronger action by issuing – from the podium – a forceful defense of freedom of the press and condemnation of those who threaten that freedom, followed by a standing toast to the First Amendment and a pledge to continue upholding such a critical cornerstone of our democracy. Speak forcefully, in front of the man who seeks to undermine our country’s long tradition of an independent, strong, and free press.
We also urge the WHCA to reaffirm, without equivocation, that freedom of the press is not a partisan issue and that the Association will not normalize this behavior but instead fight back against any officeholder who has waged systematic war against the journalists whose work the dinner celebrates.
The signatories include journalism groups such as the Society of Professional Journalists, the Coalition for Women in Journalism, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the Freedom of the Press Foundation, along with dozens of individual reporters.
The letter accuses President Trump of attacking the press through defamation lawsuits against media outlets, showing favoritism toward conservative voices, actions by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, and his decision to pardon January 6 Capitol rioters, which they claim sends the message that “attacks on the press will be forgiven.”
Former CBS anchor Dan Rather explicitly urged the Beltway press corps to “forcefully demonstrate opposition” to the president at the event.
Many journalists attending the black-tie event also plan subtler acts of protest, like wearing lapel pins or pocket handkerchiefs emblazoned with the text of the First Amendment.
President Trump is scheduled to attend the dinner. He previously boycotted the event, citing unfair treatment by the press.
In a recent Truth Social post, Trump said he is now looking forward to it and hopes it will be “something very special.”
This letter comes during a time of record-low trust in the media.
Gallup polling last year found that only 28% of Americans have a great or fair amount of trust in mass media, with even lower numbers among Republican voters.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is supposed to celebrate the First Amendment and journalism, yet here is a large group of so-called “objective” reporters openly plotting political theater against a sitting president they despise.
Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim and socialist, is proof that not all press is good press.
He is already under fire for openly and proudly campaigning with controversial pro-Hamas/pro-Hezbollah influencer Hasan Piker.
A campaign event last August took a dark turn when he suggested “choking out” opponents.
“We need Democrats who have the courage to stand up to the power brokers in our own party, let alone Trump and his goons,” El-Sayed said to wild applause. “We don’t back down.”
“When they go low, we don’t go high,” he added as the crowd continued to roar. “We take them to the mud and choke them out!”
Now, after comments he made on Friday targeting Vice President JD Vance’s children, he is facing online blowback.
El-Sayed appeared on “The Allen Analysis Show,” and the subject of Vance’s personal life came up.
In discussing Second Lad Usha, El-Sayed said, “What do you think is going through Usha’s head when he talks? She’s like, ‘Damn, I have to sleep with him.’”
He continued, “I guess she’s pregnant so something is happening.”
“Can you imagine, he’s got Brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different.”
“He’s got to look at his kids and be like, ‘Yeah, those are Brown kids, they’re mine,’ You know what I mean? ‘And I had Brown kids. I had Brown kids?’”
Watch:
Journalist Jonathan Turley noted, “Nothing says an age of rage like using children for racist screeds. This week, Abdul El-Sayed is in the news for attacking Vance over his ‘brown children’ and raising his sex life.”

The talks themselves have been widely expected. The New York Times reported Sunday that Trump. However, the exact timing has not been made public.
“We’re supposed to have the talks,” Trump said. “So I would assume at this point nobody’s playing games.”
The president also indicated his willingness to meet with Iranian officials personally.
“I have no problem meeting them,” he said.
“If they want to meet, and we have some very capable people, but I have no problem meeting them.”
Meanwhile, Trump maintained his stance about what Iran needs to do to halt the fighting.
“Get rid of their nuclear weapons. That’s all very simple,” Trump said, according to the report. “There will be no nuclear weapon.”
Trump, of course, has consistently maintained that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
Moreover, during his first administration he withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal negotiated by his predecessor, President Barack Obama, citing the deal’s enormous costs and “sunset” provisions.
By the time the current fighting began on Feb. 28, however, Trump had spoken of liberating the Iranian people.
He even embraced the language of “regime change” despite his nearly a decade of criticizing similar efforts in the Middle East.
Likewise, before agreeing to the current tenuous and temporary ceasefire the president made apocalyptic threats against Iran.
On Monday, he stopped short of reiterating those threats, but was threatening nonetheless.
“Well, I don’t want to get into that with you,” Trump said, when asked about the consequences Iran would face if it failed to agree to a deal.
