Texas AG and Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to talk about his primary victory over incumbent Senator John Cornyn.
Paxton was endorsed by President Trump and won over 63 percent of the vote to Senator Cornyn’s 36 percent. AG Paxton will face far-left candidate James Talarico in the general election this November.
“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton defeated four-term incumbent John Cornyn last Tuesday in the Republican Senate run-off. He did so by 27 points after President Trump endorsed Paxton,” Bartiromo said.
“You just defeated a four-term US Senator. So, what message do you believe that sends to Republicans in Washington who are still not getting behind President Trump’s agenda in a big way?” Bartiromo asked.
“Well, I think it sends a message we need to listen to Donald Trump. He’s the leader of the party. I think what he is trying to accomplish most Americans want,” Paxton said.
“Whatever we need to do to get behind the President I’m for and I think that message has been sent,” Paxton said.
“It’s pretty unusual for incumbent Senators to lose. It’s almost never happened in the last 50 years. I think maybe twice, and so, this sends a message, two in like a month. I think it’s something we need to pay attention to,” Paxton continued.
“The Senate leadership did not get behind you in a big way,” Bartiromo commented.
“How are you going to get the support that you need from Senate leadership in the Republican party so that they can help you in fact defeat the Democrat in November?” Bartiromo asked.
“I’m very optimistic about getting their support. I’ve already been in contact with Senator Thune, Senator Barasso, Senator Cotton, Senator Scott from South Carolina. So, I think they have all pledged their support along with other US Republican Senators, and I’m going to meet with several this week,” Paxton said.
“I think they understand how important Texas is, not just because of the majority but also because we are Texas. We haven’t lost a statewide race since 1994, and this isn’t the time to do it. We need to unite and we need to fight together,” Paxton continued.
“What’s your message in terms of defeating James Talarico in November? How are you going to do it?” Bartiromo asked.
“I think it’s pretty easy to do in Texas because this guy doesn’t represent Texas values. I’m not sure he can even get elected in California. His views are so radical,” Paxton said.
“His vegan campaign views, his saying the American flag, it’s a complicated symbol. He’s talking about God being non-binary and pushing men into women’s sports. I mean, the list goes on and this isn’t just me making this up. This is what he actually said,” Paxton continued.
“He’s complaining that I’m quoting him with his, with his strange, weird comments,” Paxton said.

Wüst hasn’t been affected by the trend of collapsing CDU support. He is set to be easily reelected in the North Rhine-Westphalia state.
While he denies plotting against Merz, his ambition to be a future chancellor is well known.

A group of detainees inside the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, reportedly went on a hunger strike, and Democrats immediately found their favorite target: ICE.
During an appearance on MSNOW, Democrat Rep. Rob Menendez of New Jersey blamed the Trump administration, ICE, and private detention contractors for conditions inside the facility.
Menendez claimed detainees were being held in “inhumane” conditions and described stories involving pregnant women, elderly detainees, medical concerns, and family members worried about loved ones inside.
The segment focused heavily on emotion. Viewers heard about a pregnant wife, a 10-year-old daughter, mothers missing Mother’s Day, and detainees who say they want their stories told. Menendez framed the situation as a moral crisis created by the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.
What the segment did not seriously address is the obvious contradiction at the center of the entire debate.
Democrats complain that ICE facilities are overcrowded, understaffed, unsanitary, and overwhelmed.
Then those same Democrats oppose the funding, staffing, detention capacity, deportation resources, and immigration enforcement infrastructure needed to fix the very problems they claim to care about.
Menendez said one judge had to hear 74 immigration cases in a single day and argued that the situation was unfair. Yet immigration court backlogs do not get solved by weakening enforcement or demonizing ICE.
Backlogs get solved with more judges, more court capacity, more staff, and a faster deportation process for those who have no legal right to remain in the country.
Democrats cannot spend years attacking ICE, pushing sanctuary policies, resisting deportations, opposing stronger border enforcement, and then act shocked when the system becomes overloaded.
The hunger strike itself also exposes the strange way Democrats discuss immigration enforcement. If detainees refuse food as a form of protest, that decision does not automatically prove ICE is abusing them.
ICE facilities provide food. A hunger strike is a political act by detainees trying to draw public attention. Democrats and left-wing media outlets then use that act to argue that the agency should be blamed.
Menendez also suggested certain people should not be held inside the facility, including pregnant women, elderly detainees, and medically vulnerable individuals. But that raises the question Democrats rarely answer: Where should they go?
If Democrats want more specialized facilities, more medical staff, cleaner bathrooms, shorter stays, faster hearings, and better detention conditions, then Congress must fund the system needed to provide them.
If Democrats want detainees processed more quickly, they should support faster removals and fewer legal delays. Instead, the party’s answer is usually to attack ICE, attack detention contractors, attack the Trump administration, and demand fewer deportations.
The MSNOW interview showed the modern Democrat Party’s immigration strategy clearly: lead with emotional stories, blame ICE for every consequence, and refuse to support the practical tools needed to make the system function.
Now detainees at Delaney Hall are on a hunger strike, and Democrats are once again blaming the people tasked with enforcing the law.

Germany’s industrial decline is accelerating, with more than 341,000 manufacturing jobs disappearing since 2019 and industry leaders warning that another 300,000 positions could soon be at risk as Europe’s largest economy struggles with rising costs, shrinking competitiveness, and intensifying global competition.
The latest figures, reported on by Remix News, have renewed concerns that Germany is undergoing something far more serious than a temporary slowdown—and something that increasingly looks to be a permanent development. Employers, economists, and business groups increasingly warn that the country’s industrial model—long regarded as the engine of European prosperity—is facing structural challenges with no easy solution in sight.
Central to these latest developments is, of course, manufacturing, which remains the backbone of the German economy. Unlike many Western countries that rely heavily on finance or services, Germany’s prosperity has long depended on exporting automobiles, machinery, chemicals, electrical equipment, and other industrial goods around the world.
Those industries are now under growing pressure—and have been for quite some time now.
According to industry association Gesamtmetall, employment in Germany’s metal and electrical sectors has fallen to roughly 3.8 million workers after years of steady decline. The group warns that current trends could result in hundreds of thousands more jobs disappearing.
“We are in danger of losing another 300,000,” Gesamtmetall President Udo Dinglreiter warned. Such a decline would push employment in key industrial sectors to some of the lowest levels seen since German reunification.
The warning comes amid mounting criticism of Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s liberal-centrist government, which faces increasing pressure to reverse the country’s economic trajectory, and put a stop to endless waves of mass migration from the third world Germany has endured for over a decade now. Business leaders argue that promised reforms have been slow to materialize while investment and production continue flowing elsewhere.
Many industrial executives point to energy costs as one of the most significant obstacles facing German manufacturers.
For decades, Germany’s export success was built partly on access to reliable and competitively priced energy that helped keep factories productive and exports globally competitive. Today, many companies say that the cost environment has fundamentally changed amid geopolitical developments.
Industry representatives warn that energy-intensive sectors such as chemicals, metals, engineering, and manufacturing are particularly vulnerable. Higher production costs make it more difficult for German firms to compete against rivals in Asia and North America.
Business groups have repeatedly urged Berlin to reduce energy prices and improve investment conditions. Without relief, they argue, more production will move abroad and more industrial jobs will disappear.
The consequences are increasingly visible far beyond factory floors.
Germany’s retail sector is also undergoing a profound transformation—and not a good one. New figures show that approximately 65,000 small retail businesses have disappeared since 2010, with independent shops suffering disproportionately compared to larger chains.
Small bookstores, bakeries, clothing stores, and specialty retailers have been among the hardest hit. Industry groups say many local businesses are struggling with inflation, weak consumer spending, rising rents, and growing operating costs.
The result is a growing number of empty storefronts in cities and towns across Germany.
“With the decline of smaller specialist retailers, many city centers are losing their distinctiveness and thus their heart,” said Stefan Genth, chief executive of the German Retail Federation.
Creditreform, which analyzed the retail data, described the sector as one of the fastest-shrinking parts of the German economy. More than 2,400 retailers entered bankruptcy proceedings in 2025 alone.
Meanwhile, international competition is intensifying.
German industry leaders have increasingly focused on China’s growing economic influence. Imports from China rose sharply during the first quarter, while German exports to China declined significantly over the same period.
Manufacturing groups argue that Chinese firms benefit from state support, subsidies, industrial planning, and lower production costs that make competition increasingly difficult for European companies.
“An artificially low currency, excessive subsidies and politically motivated export controls are not trivial offenses,” VDMA (the German Engineering Federation) chief executive Thilo Brodtmann said. “They endanger Europe’s industry.”
The concerns reflect a broader fear that Germany is gradually losing ground in industries it once dominated.
Chinese companies have become increasingly competitive in sectors ranging from electric vehicles and batteries to advanced manufacturing and industrial technology. Executives from Chinese automotive giant BYD recently highlighted the company’s workforce of more than 110,000 engineers as a key source of its success.
At the same time, political pressure on Berlin continues to mount.
Germany’s main opposition party, Alternative for Germany (AfD), has seized on the industrial job losses as evidence that Germany’s economic model requires urgent reform, arguing that the country is falling behind competitors while domestic businesses face rising costs and declining competitiveness.
The debate extends well beyond party politics.
Even politicians from across the political spectrum have expressed concern about manufacturing losses, weakening exports, and Germany’s deteriorating position in global markets.
Many economists say the challenges facing Germany are especially significant because of the country’s unique dependence on industry.
Unlike economies that rely primarily on domestic consumption or financial services, Germany depends heavily on exporting manufactured goods. Maintaining competitive production costs is therefore essential to preserving growth, employment, and public revenues.
That reality has made the energy debate increasingly difficult to ignore.
A growing number of business leaders warn that if Germany cannot provide manufacturers with competitive conditions, companies will continue relocating production, investment, and future growth opportunities elsewhere.

RINO Mike Pence joined NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday and spent the first seven minutes of the interview trashing Trump and the MAGA movement in response to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s primary win against RINO Texas Senator John Cornyn.
When asked for his take on the Senate primary runoff between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, Pence appeared to avoid the question, instead going on a bizarre tangent about conservative principles and the threat posed by Trump supporters, while promoting his upcoming book, titled “What Conservatives Believe: Rediscovering the Conservative Conscience.” Pence conceded that Trump weilds “enormous popularity” in the GOP but slammed the populist right supporters of the President while condemning Trump for embracing the “new threat to that historic conservatism.”
“There are voices that have pulled us back from unwavering support as leader of the free world, particularly in Eastern Europe, and even many challenging our support for Israel. And then, lastly, just marginalizing the right to life, which has always been at the center of our movement,” he said, oddly accusing the populist right of turning on the pro-life movement. “So, for me, I’m not surprised by what happened in Texas or in the other primaries because of the way the President has championed our cause against the radical left, but I want people to understand what conservatives believe as we go into this midterm election.”
When pressed on whether or not he supports Paxton, Pence again avoided the question, telling host Kristen Welker, “Well, I could never, if I was voting in Texas, I could never vote for the Democrat nominee, Talarico.” Pressed again, Pence still refused to answer, instead saying, “Republicans have lost our way.”

Pence: And I think that’s the reason why this election is so important, but it’s also, it’s also the reason why I think there is an enormous opportunity ahead for Republicans to be a choice, not an echo, as President Ronald Reagan said back in the day, is to literally say, as they go farther and farther to the progressive left, the answer ought not to be the antidote of the populist right of protectionism, isolationism, and marginalizing the right to life. The answer ought to be to sound as the Bible says, a clear call for conservative principles, and that’s what I’m going to be advocating in this book and across the country.
Throughout the interview, Pence continued trashing Trump for what he described as a departure from his idea of conservative politics, which regular Americans see as necessary to combat the modern-day left’s extremism and the globalist takeover of our country.
“I give him all the credit in the world for the hold that he has on Republican voters, but I maintain to you that it’s because of the president’s commitment to take on the radical left in our four years and also ever since, but I think what’s lesser known right now is the way the second Trump administration has departed from the conservative agenda that we governed on, the conservative agenda that has defined the Republican party since the days of Ronald Reagan and before,” Pence said before criticizing Trump for taking nationalistic positions, especially on NATO and the war in Ukraine.
“When you see an administration with broad-based tariffs, nationalizing American businesses, questioning and pulling back from our allies as they endure the brutal assault in Eastern Europe from Russia, I think that I think Republicans would do well to take some time to reflect on what we believe again and take that message to the American people.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Pence further trashed Trump’s policies, playing into the Democratic Party’s narrative about January 6, describing Trump’s anti-weaponization fund to compensate victims of Biden’s lawfare as “deeply offensive.”
Woke Texas state Rep. James Talarico, the Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate, is facing renewed scrutiny over past ridiculous remarks about God, gender, and so-called transgender youth. During a 2021 debate over so-called transgender legislation in the Texas House, Talarico declared on the floor that “God is non-binary,” a line that has since gone viral in conservative media and on social platforms.
In recent interviews with CBS News and ABC News, he has said the phrase was “intentionally provocative” and insisted he meant that God transcends human categories and cannot be confined to human notions of male and female, even though, the bible clearly refers to God the Father, The Son and Holy Spirit as He. To defend that botched view, Talarico has repeatedly cited the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians, saying that in Christ “there is neither male nor female,” and arguing it points to God has no gender.

Separately, in a 2021 discussion of so-called transgender athletes, Talarico argued that “modern science acknowledges six biological variations based on chromosomes,” a comment Republicans now summarize as his believing in “six genders” or “six biological sexes.” He has also drawn attention for saying in an interview clip, “I love trans kids,” a line that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton mocked in his Senate primary victory speech as “weird” when he told supporters that, asked what he loved beyond family and friends, Talarico’s “first answer was trans kids.”
Paxton’s first general-election ad for his Senate campaign, shared widely as a video on Instagram and other platforms under the tagline “Radical Talarico: too low-T for Texas,” strings together footage of Talarico saying God is non-binary, discussing six sex variations, and promoting vegan campaign purchases to paint him as culturally out of step with Texas. Talarico has responded that Paxton is clipping his “cringey” past comments to distract from what he calls the Republican’s “career of corruption,” while weakly walking back some specifics by affirming that there are two sexes, male and female, and emphasizing that people with chromosomal variations should be treated with dignity and respect.
