Alaska Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola is doubling down on the Dan Sullivan scandal, claiming that she had nothing to do with the fraudulent ballot-stacking scheme to disenfranchise Republican voters after it was revealed that her campaign coordinated the move.
A man named Daniel J. Sullivan previously ran in the Senate primary as a Republican and is now running in the general election as a no-party-affiliated candidate after receiving just 2.5% of the vote. He is being propped up to confuse voters into voting for the wrong Dan Sullivan, giving Democrat Mary Peltola a victory in the solid red state.
Both federal and state prosecutors are investigating the matter.
The DOJ previously sued to block certification of Alaska’s Senate race if the Democrats’ decoy, Daniel J. Sullivan, causes incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan to lose.
The lawsuit seeks to prevent certification if Sullivan loses but would have won “had all votes cast for Daniel J. Sullivan been cast instead for Senator Sullivan and Alaska’s rank-choice process played out accordingly.”
It was later revealed by the New York Times, however, that Dan J. Sullivan was recruited by Peltola’s campaign to rig the election. According to text messages and documents reviewed by the outlet, in the summer of 2025, a Peltola staffer was tasked with finding as many Dan Sullivans in Alaska as possible so they could add a second Dan Sullivan to the ballot.
The Times further reported that the plan involved traveling to “far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.” Daniel J. Sullivan was found in “a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea.”
According to the Associated Press, Peltola held a rally in Alaska’s capital of Juneau on Thursday and opened with, “I just want to clear the air. I knew nothing about any other candidate on the ballot except for me and the incumbent. That is all I have ever known about. I am not interested in tricking voters.”
Peltola addressed the scandal again during a rally in Anchorage on Friday, where she claimed, “I am so deeply offended by these accusations about having any involvement with anyone else’s candidacy.”
“I’m not out soliciting more competition,” she claimed, as if her voters would have picked one of the two Dan Sullivans on the ballot.

Trump said this week that Peltola’s campaign committed “voter fraud at the highest level” and should be removed from the race and face criminal charges.
“I think Dan Sullivan, the fake Dan Sullivan, and Mary Peltola should be — number one, they should be taken off the ballot, and number two, they should be prosecuted,” he said.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Daniel J. Sullivan has disappeared as the Justice Department pursues a criminal investigation involving more than 40 subpoenas.
US Attorney for the District of Alaska Michael Heyman announced “a significant surge of law enforcement assets to Alaska,” and there are “several attorneys in my office” assisting with the investigation.
