Dave Chappelle Reportedly Says He’s “So Happy Charlie Kirk Was Killed” During Madison Square Garden Show — “I Can’t Help It, It’s Involuntary”

Comedian Dave Chappelle is facing disturbing allegations following his Saturday night performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where an attendee claims the entertainer openly celebrated the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and made shocking remarks about the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Author and Manhattan Institute senior fellow Rob Henderson, who was in the audience, posted the quote immediately afterward on X.

Henderson wrote:

“I’m so happy Charlie Kirk was killed. I can’t help it, it’s involuntary.” -Dave Chappelle tonight at Madison Square Garden

The second sentence struck me as particularly odd; forcing yourself to be voluntarily giddy about someone’s murder would be strange.

The show was part of Chappelle’s Karmageddon Tour and the New York Comedy Festival. Both MSG dates (Nov. 6 and 7) were phone-free events using Yondr pouches, so no recordings exist.

Multiple people in replies to Henderson’s post confirmed the line was part of the set on tour, with similar comments reported from earlier stops.

One user wrote:

“I [was] there and yes, he said that. But they locked up our phones so no way to record it. He also said ge didn’t care about 9/11 and he’s sick of people saying “never forget”.”

This marks a stunning escalation from Chappelle’s comments in his December 2025 Netflix special The Unstoppable. In that special, Chappelle said the murder of Kirk, shot in the neck while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, left him “shook.” He dismissed comparisons between Kirk and Martin Luther King Jr. as “a reach,” calling Kirk a “motherf**king internet personality.”

Now, barely a year later on his Karmageddon tour, the same comedian is describing open joy at the killing of a young husband, father, and Christian conservative activist.

The Gateway Pundit has extensively documented the radical left’s sickening reaction to Kirk’s murder.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, podcaster Jennifer Welch and co-host Angie Sullivan faced backlash after laughing at a social media joke about digging up Kirk’s remains and killing him again.

The disturbing exchange provoked criticism and prompted advertisers to distance themselves from the podcast.

On Friday, November 6, The Gateway Pundit reported that Cash App had ended its sponsorship relationship with Welch’s podcast following the controversy.

Cash App publicly stated that it did not condone violence and confirmed that it was no longer sponsoring the program.

The following day, The Gateway Pundit reported that Welch and Sullivan apologized for laughing at the joke, acknowledging that the exchange was insensitive.

The Gateway Pundit has documented other incidents involving comedians making offensive remarks about Kirk’s assassination.

In September 2025, Jim Hoft reported on stand-up comedian Darius Dinkins, who described Kirk as a demon and expressed satisfaction over his killing.
