Obama’ presidential center and library opened in June, a little more than three months ago, and the employees who work there are already complaining about poor working conditions, cuts in pay, hours, and benefits, and saying that their concerns are being ignored by the people in charge.

After just three months? Really?

They claim that the situation is so bad that they’re trying to form their own union. Well, at least Obama supports unions. Right?

Barack Obama is facing a fresh humiliation at his ‘eyesore’ presidential center with workers slamming the project’s bosses and moving to unionize just months after it opened.

In a letter to colleagues this week, staff at the Chicago library said they were organizing a union due to the institute’s ‘increasing workloads’ and benefit rollbacks.

Workers have grown frustrated with leadership at Obama’s foundation after their concerns were met with ‘vague responses,’ according to the letter, first shared by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Issues with workloads and benefits have led to a ‘high turnover rate’ among employees, with many more ‘continuing to leave (and) taking with them their institutional knowledge and expertise,’ the letter claimed.

Workers say they were recently told that their healthcare costs would increase, promotions were suspended, and paid time off was reduced, despite also learning they would get no pay increases this winter.

Some of the complaints suggested the $900 million presidential center — often maligned for resembling the Star Wars Death Star or a huge trash bin — could already be facing financial trouble.

They included the center’s recent halting of raises and promotions, an increase in their healthcare costs and a reduction of paid time off — all of which the letter said have led to a “high turnover rate” and exiting employees “taking with them their institutional knowledge and expertise.”

Just how vital those four months of “institutional knowledge” was remains unclear, but the workers included an ace-in-the-hole in their pitch: President Obama’s own glowing words endorsing unions in 2016.

“If I were looking for a good job that lets me build some security for my family, I’d join a union. If I saw a problem in my workplace, I’d organize my coworkers to do something about it,” the letter quoted Obama.

Do you think these workers will get any attention from CNN or MSNOW?

Not likely.

The Democrats spoke too soon on the lawsuit against seven former Cornell University fraternity brothers over an alleged 2024 gang rape that the District Attorney declined to prosecute due to lack of evidence. 

A former Cornell University student, who remains anonymous under the pseudonym Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit last month against seven Chi Phi fraternity members, claiming she was drugged and gang-raped in October 2024.

As the Gateway Pundit reported, new details on the case have emerged with alleged text messages from Jane Doe obtained by TMZ, where she said she “really liked” being with the men in a text message two days after the encounter. She further slammed other students who were gossiping about the orgy, writing, “anything anyone has to say about the [gangbang] is out of their jurisdiction.”

“I don’t think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice [as f*ck],” she further wrote. She even admitted to voluntarily taking ketamine and snorting the drug off one male’s penis.

It wasn’t until more than two weeks later, and after she was uninvited from one of the fraternity’s parties, that she reported the incident as a rape to the police.

The whole scene is degenerate and, quite frankly, disgusting. The fraternity brothers shouldn’t be admired or heroized, but they also shouldn’t be demonized as rapists or doxxed if they didn’t rape anybody.

But Democratic politicians were quick to jump on the issue to further their anti-male agenda.

While speaking at a “Students vs. Billionaires” town hall hosted by More Perfect University late last month in New York, Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to capitalize on the moment with made-up facts from the case.

“Seven men drugged and gang raped a 20-year-old woman,” she claimed. She also said the girl, who admitted to voluntarily showing up at the frat house after drinking, was “lured into” the house, then “drugged with ketamine.”

“They then posted to a group chat that she was incapacitated, and seven men took turns gang raping her for seven hours,” she added.

This didn’t age well.

Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) also tore into Cornell University last week over its response to the incident.

“I’m a Cornell alum. I also represent places like Michigan State, and we know what it’s like when institutions fail women,” she said, calling on the university to “step up and treat this with the seriousness they should have treated it two years ago.”

“I don’t know all the details. I just know there was, again, a text chain that showed a large number of young men talking about assaulting a woman, and that text chain was presented to that woman, and like they got the equivalent of not even a slap on the wrist in some cases,” she added. “To me, like yes, I’m a Cornell grad. I’m also someone who represents an institution that failed women for years.”

She then accused the fraternity of “violently assaulting a woman.”

There was a group chat on Snapchat, but there is no publicly available evidence that they discussed “assaulting” the woman or that their sexual conduct was not consensual. Additionally, two of the men were expelled from the university, two were suspended, one was barred from campus after graduating, and the other two were ordered to write reflection papers and to study sexual harassment, social media use and bystander intervention.

They should be sued for defamation if this case is resolved with a finding of innocence for the seven accused fraternity brothers.

Currently, New York Governor Kathy Hochul is trying to revive a criminal case against the seven accused fraternity brothers, years after the local DA declined to prosecute the alleged assault. New York Attorney General Letitia James, who already publicly declared that the boys are guilty, will lead the investigation as a special prosecutor.

When announcing James’ appointment as the special prosecutor, Hochul also claimed that Jane Doe was “literally gang-raped while intoxicated.” She further advocated for changing the law by closing the “loophole” that makes a woman accountable for choices made while voluntarily intoxicated.

“It should not matter whether they chose to use drugs or alcohol,” she said, adding that she will work with the New York legislature to make it so that any woman can claim she was raped if she was under the influence, even if she consented.

The husband of a Texas mayor was arrested by ICE for overstaying his visa.

Armando Garza Lira, the husband of Crystal City, Texas, Mayor Jose Cerda, was arrested on Wednesday night for overstaying his visa.

According to NewsNation, the Zavala County Sheriff’s Department along with ICE took Lira into custody following complaints he was in the US illegally.

The husband of Crystal City, Texas, Mayor Jose Cerda was arrested by ICE Wednesday night, law enforcement sources told NewsNation.

According to NewsNation sources, Armando Garza Lira overstayed his visa. NewsNation has reached out to the city and has not received a response.

In a statement, the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office said it took Lira into custody after conducting immigration enforcement action following complaints of an individual reportedly residing unlawfully in Crystal City, 115 miles southwest of San Antonio.

Lira was transported to the Zavala County Jail, where he was transferred to jail personnel pending further immigration enforcement action by federal authorities.

Cerda was released without further incident.

At approximately 7:46 PM, a Zavala County Sheriff’s Office deputy made contact with two individuals occupying a vehicle in Crystal City, Texas.

During the encounter, deputies identified one of the individuals as Armando Garza Lira.

ICE subsequently advised that Mr. Lira was unlawfully present in the United States in violation of State and Federal law.

Mr. Lira was taken into custody and transported to the Zavala County Jail, where he was transferred to jail personnel pending further immigration enforcement action by federal authorities.

The other individual identified as Jose Angel Cerda was released without further incident.”

Roseanne Barr has finished an eight-episode family comedy she shot without a network, eight years after Disney fired her from the “Roseanne” revival over a tweet.

The series is called “Meemaw.”

Page Six reported Thursday that production wrapped in Austin, Texas, after a quiet start in November 2025. Barr raised the money from private investors and shot it as a union production. No premiere date or buyer has been announced as of yet.

Randy Quaid plays her husband, Drea de Matteo plays her daughter, Omar Gooding, Doug Jones, and tween Instagram performer Indy Bugg are also in the cast. Jon Lovitz, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Kim Congdon appear as guests.

TV Insider reported the same lineup and added that the plot includes an attempt to “take down a criminal empire” while planning a family party.

Barr plays the head of what she called a “mixed-race family of preppers in Texas,” trying to give her granddaughter “the most fantastic bat mitzvah Texas has ever seen.”

She told Page Six she thought “now would be a great time for people to actually hear from a Jew.”

The 2018 firing is the reason the shoot was independent. ABC and Disney dropped Barr after she posted a tweet on social media platform Twitter — now known as X — comparing Michelle Obama’s aide, Valerie Jarrett, to the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.”

Disney called the post “abhorrent” and “inconsistent” with its values and dumped her from her own show.

Barr apologized to Jarrett, deleted the account, and later said she had not known Jarrett was black.

Her talent agency, ICM, dropped her as well.

Page Six asked Barr whether Elon Musk — whose companies are based in Austin and who has said he would back people fired over free speech — had invested in the production.

Barr said he never returned her call. “Can I get some assistance over here, man? I got fired for a text that was up for two hours that nobody saw,” she said.

Barr described “Memaw” as a “semi-autobiographical series about a woman who hails from a very liberal East Coast Jewish family ” who finds herself disinherited and “must live the lower-class dream in Texas.”

Barr told Page Six the series is meant for families who do not agree.

She said her TV daughters are “super woke,” and that she wrote jokes for them the way she did on “Roseanne.”

Roseanne Barr just wrapped a new sitcom called Meemaw, and Hollywood didn’t give it to her. She made it herself. That’s resilience, and a comeback worth celebrating. Barr is a legend for her comedic fortitude and for her refusal to go down quietly. This proves it.

Disney fired Barr in 2018 over a post and pulled the revival of Roseanne while it was the top scripted show on television. Eight years later she raised the money, hired a union crew, and shot eight episodes of her new show in Austin. In Meemaw, she plays a prepper grandmother in Texas trying to throw her granddaughter a bat mitzvah. Randy Quaid plays her husband. Drea de Matteo plays her daughter.

She says the jokes go both ways politically. She wrote some for her woke daughters, and some about Republicans that the left will like. Good. That’s the formula people actually watched her for. The family on the show doesn’t only criticize outward. It laughs at itself too.

Cancel culture took the network show from Barr. It didn’t take her audience. Meemaw is the proof, and its success will show what audiences actually care about. The comeback is also proof of what the country still rewards. You can get fired for a post and still make a new show yourself.

In another post, Paxton wrote, “Michael Jordan played through the flu and won an NBA championship, but Low-T Talarico is too fragile to step out of the shadows with a cough.”

Paxton also trolled him with another wanted poster graphic that reads, “Use caution when approaching! Talarico is mentally fragile, easily overwhelmed, and prone to illness.”

Trump, in a statement, said they’re looking for Talarico in “probably even weirder places than anyone would think possible.” Perhaps he’s still at the Phoenix Bar in New York, the gay bar where he apparently held a September 30 fundraiser last week, right after Talarico’s September 28 fundraiser with TDS-infected actor Robert DeNiro and allies of NYC Mayor Zohran Mandani.

On September 30, Talarico appeared virtually at a United States Hispanic Business Council forum, where he claimed he had a so-called flu diagnosis while broadcasting from a hotel room– somewhere.

” I was starting to feel kind of under the weather a few days ago, and last night it got so bad that I went to the urgent care here in Dallas,” he said.

“And I was diagnosed with the flu, and so uh I’m running a fever, and I’m my most contagious uh right now.”

Late on Wednesday night, Trump also commented on Talarico’s prolonged absence from the campaign trail, suggesting “bad rumors are coming out” and calling on him to debate Ken Paxton.

Talarico responded, claiming he’s ready to debate and saying to Paxton, “ball’s in your court.”

Protests erupted in the Bronx on Thursday evening after an ICE agent shot and wounded an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic in Marble Hill.

Video posted to social media shows anti-ICE activists blocking federal vehicles and confronting ICE agents after the officer-involved shooting.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed an ICE agent shot a criminal alien gang member in the Bronx on Thursday.

The alien was transported to a local hospital.

“On October 8, at approximately 4:00 PM ET, ICE officers were conducting a targeted enforcement operation in the Bronx, New York, to arrest a criminal illegal alien from the Dominican Republic with a prior criminal conviction for grand larceny, and multiple prior arrests for assault, robbery, possession of drugs, and weapons possession. He has associations to the Trinitarios gang. The same gang who brutally killed a CBP officer last year,” the DHS said.

“This criminal illegal alien was arrested by the NYPD on December 7, 2023, but was released into the community a few days later by reckless Democrat sanctuary policies that put American lives at risk,” they said.

“During the incident, an ICE officer discharged his weapon and the criminal illegal alien was injured.”

“ICE officers immediately rendered aid. The individual is alive and at a local hospital. The FBI and HSI are on the scene. The incident remains under investigation. More information will be shared as it becomes available.”

“When dangerous illegal aliens are released back onto the streets by radical sanctuary politicians, our officers are forced to make arrests at large in the community in unpredictable and dangerous environments. Our officers should not have to risk their lives, and innocent Americans should not have to face unnecessary danger, because sanctuary politicians refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement,” the DHS added.

Authentic Christianity has always made powerful people uncomfortable. Ask NFL Hall of Famer, Super Bowl champion, and outspoken Christian Tony Dungy.

In a short preview of an interview with sports journalist and former ESPN anchor Sage Steele — a preview posted Wednesday to the social media platform X — Dungy indicated that he “kinda knew” NBC would not bring him back for another season as an analyst on the network’s “Sunday Night Football” studio show, in part because of his Christian views.

“There were things that they didn’t want me to talk about,” Dungy said in a tone of resignation, adding that “they knew who I was when I got hired” and “it is what it is.”

Steele then noted that it seemed from the outside that NBC parted ways with Dungy over his pro-life principles.

The legendary former player and coach responded with a chuckle.

“There are some things that, I guess, on TV, especially, they want you to be careful because they want to attract everybody. They wanna have an audience of everyone. They don’t always appreciate you speaking about your faith.”

In other words, Dungy effectively confirmed Steele’s suspicion without saying it directly. He also indicated that he regretted nothing.

“But for me, I’m always gonna do that,” he said of honestly discussing his Christian beliefs, “and I’m gonna try to do it in a respectful way, but people are gonna know that I’m a Christian, so, that part is never gonna leave.”

The Hall of Famer also stated clearly what his public comments and social media posts have made clear for years.

“I am pro-life,” he said, “and I’m not gonna be ashamed to say that.”

For the current season of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has joined the program’s studio crew.

Ironically, Dungy spent part of his brief playing career with the Steelers. He even forced a game-clinching fumble in Pittsburgh’s 1978-79 Super Bowl victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

In 1996, Dungy took over as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Six seasons and four playoff berths later, he moved on to the Indianapolis Colts, where he made the playoffs every year, including a 2006-2007 Super Bowl win over the Chicago Bears, in which he earned a notable distinction as the first black head coach ever to win a Super Bowl.

Notable, that is, to everyone but Dungy.

Prior to that game — now nearly 20 years ago — the sports media made a big fuss over the fact that whoever won the game, either Dungy or Bears head coach Lovie Smith, would earn that distinction.

“More than anything, I’ve said it before, Lovie Smith and I, not only the first two African-Americans, but Christian coaches, showing that you can win doing it the Lord’s way,” Dungy said after winning the championship, according to Bleacher Report. “And we’re more proud of that.”

At the time, Sarah Braunstein of Bleacher Report was outraged. She insisted that Dungy “compartmentalized his identity: He separated his race from his religion — and he privileged the wrong one.”

Braunstein’s harangue continued.

Instead of citing his black predecessors, she added, “Dungy tried to circumvent race and claim that it was more important that he’d won the Super Bowl as a Christian, thus giving credit and power to a group that has no lack of it.”

In other words, Dungy is no stranger to venomous reactions from sports-media figures who were woke even before wokeness was a thing. After all, his outspoken Christianity has always riled up the wicked.

Fortunately, Dungy has never changed. In fact, his X feed remains as Christian as ever.

Dr. Sean McDowell gave the message again this week at Grace Family Church. He addressed the question “If God is real and God is good, then why do bad things happen?”
Many people can’t believe in God because of the suffering they see in the world. How does a Christian answer that question?

His point: Evil is what comes when good gets corrupted. So where does “good” come from? Who decides what’s right and what’s wrong? That standard has to come from God.

God is powerful enough to stop evil and He will—at the end of the world. But God can’t force us to do good and not do anything evil because He has given us free will.

Why would a good God allow pain and suffering? Because we do have free will and sometimes pain can be God’s megaphone to a deaf world.

Jesus made claims to be the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God. Do I believe that?

As Christians we are supposed to represent Jesus. We don’t always do that well but that doesn’t change who Jesus is or what He said We have to believe Jesus is perfect in spite of the fact that people who believe in Him aren’t perfect.

The hypocrisy of the far-left Democrat establishment was laid bare on live television during an explosive debate in Vermont.

Democrat Attorney General candidate Molly Gray was left completely speechless after being confronted head-on by Republican Lt. Governor John Rodgers over shocking federal and state investigations into severe labor violations and horrific housing conditions involving H-2A migrant workers at her own family farm.

As reported by Vermont Daily Chronicle, Gray’s family operation, Four Corners Farm in South Newbury, was hit with multiple government citations following inspections that uncovered unlit, unventilated basement showers and severe fire, plumbing, and heating code deficiencies in migrant housing.

Yet, despite plastering her campaign website with virtue-signaling lectures claiming that “everyone has the right to live with dignity and ensure humane treatment,” Gray has remained noticeably quiet on the alleged mistreatment happening in her family’s backyard.

The exchange unfolded during an October 6 debate hosted by Vermont Public, featuring Republican incumbent Lt. Gov. John Rodgers and Gray, a former lieutenant governor seeking to reclaim the office.

Rodgers asked:

“Ms. Gray, you talk constantly about your family farm. Your campaign website also says you believe everyone has the right to live with dignity and ensure humane treatment. But your family farm was at the center of serious labor violations around its treatment of H-2A migrant workers. Why did you not speak out against the mistreatment of migrant workers on your family farm? And did you use your influence to direct the investigation?”

Gray appeared taken aback by the question.

Her response:

“Wow. You know, John, seems like kind of a new, a new low here. I’m on the ballot. My experience, my background, my policies are on the ballot. My family is not on the ballot. So I’m going to give you an opportunity to ask a different question.”

Rodgers refused to withdraw his question.

“That’s my question,” he responded, pointing out that Gray regularly discusses her upbringing on the family farm throughout her campaign.

According to an October 6 report by the Vermont Daily Chronicle, state investigators identified multiple problems with migrant worker housing at Four Corners Farm, the agricultural operation run by members of Gray’s family.

The reported deficiencies included inadequate insulation, heating concerns, damaged screening and flooring, and livestock housed directly beneath a kitchen area used by workers.

The farm employed seasonal agricultural workers through the federal H-2A visa program, which allows American agricultural employers to hire foreign workers temporarily.

Records described in the report indicate that concerns about the housing prompted a referral to Vermont’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration in August 2024.

The federal Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division conducted an investigation that October, followed by a state inspection in November.

A citation was issued in December 2024.

Problems reportedly continued into 2025.

During a January 22, 2025, inspection, Vermont’s Division of Fire Safety declined to grant occupancy approval for the H-2A worker housing, citing deficiencies involving fire separation, plumbing, heating, and bathroom requirements.

Gray has defended her family against the criticism.

According to WCAX-TV, Gray said her family worked with state officials to bring the migrant worker housing into compliance with rental code standards.

She also criticized Rodgers for involving her relatives in the political dispute.

“John Rodgers has every right to come after me and my policy ideas, but going after my family is disgraceful and a new low,” Gray said.

WCAX also reported that Gray does not own or operate Four Corners Farm.

Rodgers, however, maintained that the subject was relevant because Gray has repeatedly highlighted her family farm as part of her political background.

A cancer survivor newly named to advise the President says he is the first target of privatized DOJ lawfare.

Political operatives get sued all the time. That’s not news. What is news is who signed the complaint.

Longtime Trump adviser Michael Caputo, a focus of the “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax for a decade, has been hit with an 85-page civil suit.

The lawyer who filed it on September 8, Jack Korba, was until last summer a prosecutor in the National Security section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

That is the same small office that investigated Caputo for five years over alleged foreign-agent violations, secretly obtained the contents of his Google accounts, and closed the case last December without a single charge.

Now former prosecutor Korba works at Foley & Lardner, one of the most powerful law firms in the country, and Caputo is in his sights again. Caputo calls Korba “his family’s tormentor because the civil suit recycles the Russia theory Korba’s own DOJ office could never prove across five years.”

Caputo says this is a contract dispute on paper. Korba’s client, 88-year-old inventor Gilbert Hyatt, paid Caputo’s firm $100,000 to lobby the White House for an AI foundation and now alleges breach of contract and fraud. Caputo denies all of it.

But read the complaint, which Caputo has posted at LawfareDOJ.com. It tells the court that “Benedict Arnold merely conspired to deliver the American fort at West Point into British hands.” It quotes Vladimir Putin on artificial intelligence, three times. It alleges Russian “connections” on “information and belief.” All of this in a dispute over a PR retainer.

That’s where legal experts say this stops looking like an ordinary lawsuit.

The District of Columbia’s ethics rules say a former government lawyer “shall not accept other employment in connection with a matter which is the same as, or substantially related to, a matter in which the lawyer participated personally and substantially as a public officer or employee.” There is no waiver for a lawyer who moves to private practice.

And the complaint itself points to “a 2021 criminal investigation” of Caputo. That is the investigation run by the office where Korba worked.

Caputo isn’t waiting. He has taken the matter to the D.C. Office of Disciplinary Counsel, alleging that Korba has a conflict of interest and used material he could only have gleaned from the federal probe. If that is true, evidence the government gathered in secret, at taxpayer expense, in a case too weak to charge, is now working for a private client. Caputo calls it “privatized DOJ lawfare,” and he warns there will be “many, many more” cases like his if it is allowed to stand.

The legal argument is only half of this story. The other half is what a decade of it does to a family.

In September 2020, according to The Cancer Letter, the director of the CDC felt a swollen lymph node in Caputo’s neck. It was head-and-neck cancer. (Caputo has said for years that the stress of the Russia investigations is what gave him cancer in the first place.)

Nearly four months of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation followed. He could not swallow. He went from roughly 300 pounds to about 180. In January 2021, his doctors found no evidence of disease.

Caputo says he still lives with the downstream effects of the treatments that saved his life.

After he recovered, he moved his family to Ave Maria, Florida, on the edge of the Everglades. It is a town built around a Catholic university, founded by Tom Monaghan of Domino’s Pizza, and Caputo is studying theology there. By every account, the family found peace. “After ten years, we were just starting to breathe again,” he told Miranda Devine of The New York Post.

Then came the best news in years for Caputo. The White House has named him to the President’s Cancer Panel, where he wants to focus on survivorship. He shares that cause with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who recently wrote in USA Today about her own breast cancer treatment. Caputo told The Cancer Letter she “worked through cancer without skipping a beat.”

That appointment should have been the headline of his month. Instead, his family is reading an 85-page complaint that compares him to Benedict Arnold. “My wife and daughters won’t stop crying,” said Caputo.

Judicial Watch says it has moved to unseal the warrant materials targeting Caputo. We all deserve to see what the Justice Department collected and who handled it. That information belongs to the People and should be released immediately.

A coalition of more than 40 LGBTQ advocacy organizations descended on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Tuesday, demanding that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government commit a staggering $450 million ($350 million US) in taxpayer funding over the next five years to expand the country’s federal LGBTQ action plan.

That’s $450 million in Canadian dollars, equivalent to roughly $325 million in U.S. currency, that activists want Ottawa to commit to their expanding programs and initiatives.

According to NOW Toronto, approximately 45 LGBTQ, human rights, feminist, and labor organizations participated in what organizers described as the largest-ever Queer Day of Action on Parliament Hill on October 6.

Organizers branded the lobby day the largest-ever “Queer day” on the Hill. The money would renew and expand the federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan before it expires in March 2027. That plan was launched by Justin Trudeau in August 2022 with $100 million over five years, about $70 million US, a massive 350% increase over the original allocation.

The day was organized by Queer Momentum, Rainbow Railroad, Egale Canada, Pride at Work Canada, Fierté Canada Pride, and Dignity Network Canada, with more than 40 allied groups in tow, according to a CNW release from the Society of Queer Momentum.

Delegates spent the day in meetings with MPs, senators, and ministers’ offices, then closed with a reception in the Senate co-hosted by the Canadian Pride Caucus. NOW Toronto reported the coalition’s line as “double down, not back down.”

The coalition also wants Canada to expand its international LGBTQ advocacy programs.

Doug Kerr, executive director of Dignity Network Canada, argued that Canadian funding has helped support LGBTQ organizations and activists operating overseas, including through embassies and nongovernmental organizations.

In other words, the proposed spending would not be limited to programs inside Canada. Part of the coalition’s agenda involves strengthening LGBTQ advocacy internationally.

NOW Toronto reported:

During a press conference on Tuesday morning, Kerr explained that he expects the government will renew the action plan, but it needs to be comprehensive and actionable.

“I think what many of us are concerned about is that the time is different than it was five years ago. The stresses on our human rights are growing, and we need to see not just a renewed action plan, but renewed investment in our communities,” Kerr told media.

Alberta Senator Dr. Kristopher Wells told media that there are ongoing conversations about this investment happening between Queer and Trans leaders and not just the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, but all ministers in the federal government, as the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is a part of every portfolio.

“The Action Plan signals a commitment, and it sends a message to our community that this federal government sees our community, understands our community, and also understands Canada’s place in an increasingly divided and polarized world, where 2SLGBTQI+ communities are under direct attack, and that includes communities in Alberta,” Wells said.

“I would hope that the government will not only renew the action plan, but actually increase funding because we know true allies in times of challenge don’t back down; they double down in terms of their support.”
