A coalition of more than 40 LGBTQ advocacy organizations descended on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Tuesday, demanding that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government commit a staggering $450 million ($350 million US) in taxpayer funding over the next five years to expand the country’s federal LGBTQ action plan.

That’s $450 million in Canadian dollars, equivalent to roughly $325 million in U.S. currency, that activists want Ottawa to commit to their expanding programs and initiatives.

According to NOW Toronto, approximately 45 LGBTQ, human rights, feminist, and labor organizations participated in what organizers described as the largest-ever Queer Day of Action on Parliament Hill on October 6.

Organizers branded the lobby day the largest-ever “Queer day” on the Hill. The money would renew and expand the federal 2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan before it expires in March 2027. That plan was launched by Justin Trudeau in August 2022 with $100 million over five years, about $70 million US, a massive 350% increase over the original allocation.

The day was organized by Queer Momentum, Rainbow Railroad, Egale Canada, Pride at Work Canada, Fierté Canada Pride, and Dignity Network Canada, with more than 40 allied groups in tow, according to a CNW release from the Society of Queer Momentum.

Delegates spent the day in meetings with MPs, senators, and ministers’ offices, then closed with a reception in the Senate co-hosted by the Canadian Pride Caucus. NOW Toronto reported the coalition’s line as “double down, not back down.”

The coalition also wants Canada to expand its international LGBTQ advocacy programs.

Doug Kerr, executive director of Dignity Network Canada, argued that Canadian funding has helped support LGBTQ organizations and activists operating overseas, including through embassies and nongovernmental organizations.

In other words, the proposed spending would not be limited to programs inside Canada. Part of the coalition’s agenda involves strengthening LGBTQ advocacy internationally.

NOW Toronto reported:

During a press conference on Tuesday morning, Kerr explained that he expects the government will renew the action plan, but it needs to be comprehensive and actionable.

“I think what many of us are concerned about is that the time is different than it was five years ago. The stresses on our human rights are growing, and we need to see not just a renewed action plan, but renewed investment in our communities,” Kerr told media.

Alberta Senator Dr. Kristopher Wells told media that there are ongoing conversations about this investment happening between Queer and Trans leaders and not just the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, but all ministers in the federal government, as the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is a part of every portfolio.

“The Action Plan signals a commitment, and it sends a message to our community that this federal government sees our community, understands our community, and also understands Canada’s place in an increasingly divided and polarized world, where 2SLGBTQI+ communities are under direct attack, and that includes communities in Alberta,” Wells said.

“I would hope that the government will not only renew the action plan, but actually increase funding because we know true allies in times of challenge don’t back down; they double down in terms of their support.”

WHOA: “Our Body Our Choice ASF” – Cornell Jane Doe Texts Frat Bro She “Really Liked” Gangbang but Caught “Heat” in Campus Gossip, Says Snorting Ketamine Off P*nis Was “Insane/Jaw Dropping”

It’s been a bad year for women.

From Lindsay Clancy to Cornell University’s Jane Doe, the feminist movement is collapsing. Jane Doe’s story about the ketamine and alcohol-fueled 2024 orgy, where she claims she was raped, keeps getting worse by the day. Sorry ladies…

The then-20-year-old Cornell University student, who remains anonymous under the pseudonym Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit last month against seven Chi Phi fraternity members, claiming she was drugged and gang-raped in October 2024.

In an op-ed for the New York Post last week, Miranda DeVine likened the case to “the same lynch-mob hysteria as the notorious Duke lacrosse or ‘mattress girl’ hoaxes of old — only with social media making everything worse.” It appears she’s being proven right.

At first, we were told she was “gang raped” by seven fraternity brothers for seven hours. Then, we found out that she admitted to being “super drunk” during the sexual encounter, voluntarily taking ketamine, and consenting to having sex with at least two men that night.

Now, text messages between Jane Doe and Jonathan Newell, one of the accused, show that she seemingly had no regrets in the days after the, as she put it, “gangbang.”

In the October 21, 2024, messages, obtained by TMZ, she sympathizes with Newell and offers him a shoulder to cry on as if the night were traumatizing for him.

“If you have any regrets or anything you want to talk about i am always here to talk about it cause that was a lot,” she wrote. “I really do love u and matt and i promise i wont get quiet and weird w u like i did last time.”

Newell had begun the exchange by apologizing to Jane Doe “for how things went down the other night,” noting that his memory was “kinda fuzzy” and that he and the other guy were “too f*cked up.”

“You’re an amazing person and I genuinely hope ur not catching as much heat from this as we r. We’ve been shutting down any stories we’ve heard, but again I’m so so sorry,” he said, indicating that buzz on campus was already generating about the seven-on-one orgy.

“Aw, Jonathan, I really appreciate this text. my memories super clouded too. i think we were all way to f*cking drunk and high,” she replied, adding that she was also “getting a little heat” from the girls at Pi Phi, another campus sorority.

“But that’s to be expected,” she said. “At the end of the day non[e] of the sexual stuff was illegal and honestly i really liked being [with you] and matt. so anything anyone has to say about the gambang is out of their jurisdiction.”

She continued, “I don’t think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice [as f*ck].”

“It may have been nice for only 4 people to have been around,” she said of the orgy that allegedly involved seven men.

“p.s. i’m not sure if u remember but i did k off your d at some point? and i honestly think that was one of the most insane/jaw dropping moments of the night,” she also wrote, appearing to confirm that she snorted ketamine from his penis. After Newell said he had “no memory” of the insane moment, Jane Doe acknowledged that she’s socially known as a “massive slut,” but argued that she’s “really not.”

Parts of these messages were previously reviewed and reported on by mainstream media outlets, but they omitted key details. As CBS previously phrased it, “She also wrote, ‘non(e) of the sexual stuff was illegal.’ She said she liked being with him and another man.”

Now, the full message has been released, revealing that she had no problem with what she described as a “gangbang,” adding that any gossip or criticism from other students “is out of their jurisdiction.” Not to mention the old “our body our choice” catchphrase.

It wasn’t until weeks later, on November 8, 2024, that she reported the alleged assault to police. And in an interview with cops on November 14, she claimed, “I can say with 100% confidence I was raped.” What changed between October 21 and November 8? Well, two days later, according to NBC, she told another one of the frat bros, “my reputation is destroyed and I’m utterly ashamed.” A week later, NBC reports, she was uninvited from one of their parties, and she turned, saying, “y’all aren’t my friends. y’all are covering your asses.”

Then, days before reporting the alleged rape, she changed her tune on, writing to one of the brothers, “let’s be clear that 90% of what happened that night was not consensual.”

Meanwhile, the boys have flipped the narrative, arguing that they, too, were too intoxicated to consent to advances made by Jane Doe. One of the fraternity brothers has even said that he was “sodomized” by Jane Doe while he was “incapacitated.”

“You received information that I was sodomized by her while I was incapacitated back in November, and you never once thought to alert me of my rights under these procedures as a survivor of this assault?” Matthew Ingalls, one of the seven accused frat brothers, wrote to the investigators at Cornell University in February 2025. “The very fact that I had to bring this to your attention now in February confirms my worst fears: that this process is rolled [sic] with gender discrimination,” he said.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, New York Governor Kathy Hochul is now seeking to revive a criminal case against the seven accused fraternity brothers, years after the local DA declined to prosecute the alleged assault.

Hochul claimed in a press release, announcing the appointment of New York Attorney General Letitia James to lead the investigation as a special prosecutor, that “Newly released information continues to raise serious questions about the investigation conducted by the Cornell Police Department and the decision by the Tompkins County District Attorney not to prosecute an alleged sexual assault on Cornell University’s campus in October 2024.”

President Trump responded to James’s appointment to lead the investigation last week, saying, “I feel badly for whoever she’s looking at because they won’t get a fair shake.”

HERE WE GO: DOJ Moves to Indict January 6 ‘Star Witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson

The Justice Department is seeking to indict January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson for lying to Congress, according to PunchBowl News.

Earlier this year it was reported that the DOJ launched an investigation into Hutchinson.

The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division presented evidence to a federal grand jury this week. Hutchinson has not been subpoenaed yet.

Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon is spearheading the investigation.

“DOJ is seeking a federal criminal indictment of former WH aide Cassidy Hutchinson on charges of lying to Congress in her Jan. 6 testimony,” PunchBowl News reported.

“DOJ’s Civil Rights Division brought evidence to a federal grand jury on Tuesday and is expected to present more evidence and additional witnesses later this month, per sources familiar with the plans. Hutchinson has not been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury, per the sources,” the outlet reported.

Cassidy Hutchinson testified in June 2022 that Trump got into “the beast” after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 with the belief that he would be driven to the Capitol.

According to Hutchinson, who received this information from Tony Ornato, the Assistant Director for the Secret Service, Trump grew angry after he was informed that he was being driven back to the West Wing.

According to Ornato, Trump shouted, “I’m the f*cking president! Take me up to the Capitol now!”

Hutchinson alleged that at this point, Trump reached up to the driver, grabbed the steering wheel, and tried to commandeer the presidential limo.

Hutchinson then claimed Secret Service Agent Bobby Engel grabbed Trump’s arm and took his hand off the steering wheel.

Of course, this was all a lie.

The House oversight subcommittee, headed by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), later found that unreleased testimony by four employees present for Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech at the Ellipse “directly contradicted claims made by Cassidy Hutchinson. She made it all up. The woman should be hauled into court!

Later reports found that Liz Cheney coached Cassidy Hutchinson before her testimony. Another crime.

The Gateway Pundit compiled a list of Cassidy Hutchinson’s 9 confirmed lies from her debunked congressional testimony.

ICE “Kidnapped” a Child? Wrong. Federal Authorities Refused to Release Him to an Unapproved Sponsor

The media and social media misrepresent the facts in justified deportation cases. Photo courtesy of DHS.

An October 5 Mother Jones investigation, titled “You Kidnapped My Son,” accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of separating an 11-year-old Venezuelan boy from his father and refusing to return him to his family. The article sparked controversy on social media, where commentary suggested that ICE had taken the boy without cause, separated him from his father, and eventually deported him rather than releasing him to his “family” in the United States.

The real-life circumstances, however, paint a very different picture. ICE’s enforcement operation was directed at the boy’s father, a Venezuelan migrant who had previously received Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The Trump administration terminated Venezuela’s TPS designations in 2025, before his arrest in April 2026. The reported basis for the arrest also included a missed immigration hearing.

ICE arrested the father outside his El Paso home and took his son into custody with him. The boy, called Andrés in the Mother Jones article, is identified as J.R.C. in federal court records. His father, called Luis by Mother Jones, was identified in local reporting as Jesús Eduardo Reyes Hermes. The father and son entered the United States in 2023.

The father and son remained together for several hours before being separated around midnight. The father was transferred to Camp East Montana, an adult immigration detention facility at Fort Bliss, while the boy was classified as an unaccompanied minor and transferred to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The distinction between ICE and ORR is important. ICE handles immigration enforcement, while ORR is responsible for caring for unaccompanied migrant children and determining whether they can be released to approved sponsors. The father’s detention made him unavailable to provide ordinary physical care for his son, creating an immediate childcare problem. Children generally cannot simply be housed alongside unrelated adults in an immigration detention facility.

Andrés also had a stepmother figure in the United States, identified as Mariana, who lived with his father and their younger child. However, she had no documented legal custody or guardianship rights over Andrés. His biological mother lived in Colombia and potentially retained parental custody rights, although the available reporting does not establish the precise custody arrangements between his parents.

Under 45 CFR § 410.1201, ORR may release an unaccompanied child to a parent, legal guardian, adult relative, or another qualifying adult designated by a parent or guardian. A pre-existing custody order is not required for every type of sponsor. However, prospective sponsors must satisfy federal requirements before a child can be released into their care.

Those requirements exist for a reason. Federal authorities must verify a proposed sponsor’s identity, relationship to the child, living conditions, criminal history, and ability to provide safe care. The relevant federal regulation requires background checks and a suitability assessment before release. A family relationship, romantic partnership with a parent, or verbal promise to care for a child does not automatically establish eligibility.

In Andrés’s case, Mariana applied to sponsor him but withdrew her application because she lacked a required taxpayer identification number. Consequently, she was never approved to receive the child. The available reporting does not establish her immigration status or whether alternative arrangements could have allowed her application to proceed.

The father was eventually released on bond from immigration detention on June 24, 2026, but his son remained in ORR custody. The boy’s attorney had challenged his classification as an unaccompanied minor, arguing that he had originally been detained together with his father.

A federal judge subsequently ruled that the boy had no parent or legal guardian in the United States available to provide care and physical custody and that no sponsor had been approved. The ruling explained why ORR could not release the child to Mariana.

Online critics have questioned why the child was not released to his father after the father posted a $5,000 bond. However, the boy had no established lawful immigration status, and both father and son had pending asylum applications when ICE arrested them on April 28, 2026. The boy’s asylum application was subsequently denied.

Furthermore, according to the Human Impact Project, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a negative credible-fear determination against the father on June 24, the same day he was released on bond, leaving him facing expedited removal proceedings. These circumstances may help explain why the father was not considered available to assume custody, although the available records do not establish that they were the judge’s specific reasons.

Meanwhile, Andrés requested permission to leave the United States and reunite with his biological mother. An immigration judge approved his voluntary departure to Venezuela in July 2026. He traveled there in August, more than three months after the original arrest.

According to Mother Jones, the child’s mother, who lived in Colombia, had agreed to meet him at the airport in Barcelona, Venezuela. However, she was not there when he arrived, and the boy reportedly waited until his attorney helped the family locate him later that night.

Online critics claim that the boy’s mother was not at the airport because U.S. authorities failed to notify her of his arrival. However, no independent documentation has been presented to substantiate that allegation.

Overall, apart from the date of the arrest, it appears that most of the claims in the conspiracy version of this story are incorrect.

88-Year-Old Fulton Voter Schools Democrat Lawyer Defending Dirty Rolls During Election Board Meeting

An 88-year-old Fulton County voter just did what the lawyers and the bureaucrats refuse to do. He read the statute.

At the Georgia State Election Board meeting on September 28, a lawyer told the board that Fulton County “did nothing wrong” when it refused to act on a challenge against a voter who had moved.

Her argument, captured by VoterGA and posted this week by Garland Favorito, was that the National Voter Registration Act creates a “very special category” for movers.

Without written confirmation, she said that means the voter’s signature on a registration card from the new jurisdiction, a county must park the voter on inactive status for two federal election cycles before anyone can be removed. Fulton, she insisted, “followed the law.”

Chairman John Fervier tried to shut the exchange down. The board had already spent “a great deal of the day” on Fulton County, he said, and “that’s not our fault. That’s Fulton County’s fault.”

Earl Ferguson asked to respond. He kept it short.

Ferguson told the board that Section 8(d) of the NVRA stops a state from removing a registrant for a change of address inside two federal election cycles. Georgia does not strip people off the rolls merely because they moved. The challenges in front of the board, he said, are aimed at people who have done something that makes them ineligible, not at ordinary change-of-address mail. “That’s the correct interpretation of the NVRA,” Ferguson said, “but not the one that she is quoting.”

Viewers of the VoterGA clip identified the lawyer as Democrat State Election Board member Sara Tindall Ghazal, and the chairman pressing to move on as John Fervier.

WATCH:

Ferguson is not a newcomer to this. He and Jason Frazier sued the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections in federal court in August 2024, arguing the county was ignoring lawful challenges and refusing to maintain an accurate roll.

State Election Board records from the December 2025 meeting show Ferguson had filed roughly 1,800 challenges in December 2023 against voters he said had moved out of state and registered elsewhere. Fulton dismissed them.

Of those 1,800, the county’s own account to the board was that six people replied. Four asked to be taken off. Two said they were back in Georgia.

The Gateway Pundit has covered this county’s roll problem for years. In 2023, Frazier told investigators he had found about 20,000 duplicate registrations in Fulton and had submitted about 10,000 challenges, with roughly 1,600 still sitting in challenge status.

He also flagged about 2,000 registrations tied to a “Missing Address” street. The Fulton County Commission’s answer was not to clean the list. It was to reject Frazier when Republicans nominated him to the county election board, while seating the Democratic nominees.

Pete Hegseth Says Fort Hood Islamist Terrorist Nidal Hasan’s Firing Squad Execution Will Be PUBLIC at Same Military Base Where He Murdered 13 Americans

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has announced that the execution of convicted Fort Hood Islamist terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan will be “PUBLIC,” with American soldiers carrying out the firing squad at the very military installation where Hasan murdered 13 people and wounded 32 others in 2009.

The Trump administration has scheduled the execution for December 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. Central Time, returning the convicted mass murderer to Fort Hood, Texas, at approximately the same time of day he launched his deadly rampage nearly 17 years ago.

Hegseth revealed the plans during an exclusive interview with conservative commentator Jack Posobiec on Human Events Daily, delivering an unapologetic message about the consequences of Islamist terrorism against American troops.

According to Human Events, Hegseth confirmed that the execution would be conducted by an Army firing squad and that members of the public would be permitted to witness it.

“Execution by firing squad. Army major betrays his country, radical Islamist, kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course we’re gonna do it at Fort Hood. We’re gonna do it on a Thursday. We’re gonna do it at 1 o’clock, which is when he did it,” Hegseth said. “And it’s gonna be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad.”

“We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it’s public. Because people need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things.”

While the execution itself is permitted under the military justice system, a public execution does not necessarily mean that Americans will be allowed to show up at Fort Hood and watch.

Under the Army’s execution procedures, authorized witnesses can attend executions, including designated military officials and other approved observers.

Journalists, victims’ family representatives, and other individuals may also be permitted to witness proceedings under applicable military regulations.

However, Hegseth has not specified whether his announcement means allowing additional members of the public to attend, expanding media access.

According to the Associated Press, legal experts have raised questions about the military’s execution procedures, while Hasan could still pursue federal judicial review that might delay the scheduled execution.

The announcement marks a dramatic departure from the Obama-era handling of the Fort Hood massacre, which was initially classified by the Pentagon as an incident of workplace violence despite Hasan’s admitted ideological motivations.

During the interview, Hegseth condemned that characterization.

“Remember what Obama called it? Workplace violence.”

Hegseth insisted the massacre was an Islamist terrorist attack committed by an American military officer who had turned against his fellow service members.

He also confirmed that the firing squad would consist of soldiers armed with rifles.

The exchange took an even sharper turn when Posobiec asked whether Hasan had made any final requests or attempted to contact President Trump.

Hegseth’s response was just two words:

“Don’t care.”

He then added:

“We’ll see him on December 3rd.”

Trump Approves Death Sentence After More Than a Decade on Death Row

On November 5, 2009, Hasan, then a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist, opened fire inside a soldier processing facility at Fort Hood, Texas.

Witnesses reported that Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the assault as he targeted fellow American service members.

Thirteen people were murdered, and another 32 were wounded before responding authorities stopped the attack.

During his 2013 court-martial, Hasan acknowledged responsibility for the shooting and described himself as a soldier who had switched sides. He claimed he was attempting to defend the Taliban and other Islamist fighters from American military operations in Afghanistan.

A military jury convicted him in August 2013 and sentenced him to death.

Yet Hasan remained alive on military death row for more than 13 years as his case worked its way through the appeals process.

That changed under President Donald Trump.

According to an official U.S. Army announcement released October 7, Trump formally approved Hasan’s death sentence on October 2, following the completion of his military appellate proceedings.

Acting Secretary of the Army Adam Telle subsequently issued the execution directive on October 6, officially establishing the date, location, and method of execution.

If carried out as scheduled, Hasan’s execution will be the first conducted by the U.S. military since 1961 and the first military firing squad execution since World War II.

The last American soldier executed by military firing squad was Private Eddie Slovik, who was put to death for desertion in January 1945.

The Gateway Pundit has followed the Fort Hood terrorist’s case for years, documenting both the horrific massacre and the lengthy battle to carry out his death sentence.

In September 2025, The Gateway Pundit reported that the Pentagon was preparing to seek President Trump’s authorization to execute Hasan, potentially ending decades without a military execution.

On October 5, 2026, Cristina Laila reported that Trump had approved Hegseth’s recommendation to execute Hasan by firing squad.

The Gateway Pundit also reported Wednesday that the Army had officially scheduled the execution for December 3 at Fort Hood.

Now, Hegseth has revealed another significant detail: The execution will not be conducted entirely behind closed doors.

Russian forces struck Kyiv’s Northern Bridge on October 3, hit warehouses outside the capital, and attacked several other regions, while Moscow warned foreign diplomats that mass strikes on Ukraine would continue. Regional reports from October 2 and 3 put the toll at 9 civilians killed and at least 92 injured.

In Kyiv, a Russian drone hit the Northern Bridge in the morning, damaging the roadway and the trolleybus power lines. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said two people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized. Traffic from the left bank to the right bank was halted, then partially reopened. The Northern Bridge is the second Kyiv crossing hit by Russian drones in recent days. The Southern Bridge has been struck four times and remains closed to traffic. Restrictions also apply on four Kyiv bridges during air raid alerts.

Overnight, a strike set fire to two warehouse buildings in Hostomel, in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast. Kyiv Oblast head Tymur Tkachenko reported four people injured, including an 8-year-old girl with a shrapnel wound to her leg. A 66-year-old man was hospitalized with burns and an abdominal injury. UNIAN reported that a Hostomel warehouse belonging to Venta LTD, Ukraine’s third-largest pharmaceutical distributor, was hit. The region lost three civilians in a single day of strikes in September.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia would continue “massive retaliatory strikes” and directed the warning at foreigners and diplomats in Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said no foreign mission had requested relocation. Moldovan President Maia Sandu said three Russian missiles, including Banderol missiles, and two drones violated Moldova’s airspace and exploded on its territory. No casualties were reported.

In Sumy Oblast, Russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 26 settlements in 16 communities using artillery, mortars, drones, and guided aerial bombs. The regional administration reported three people killed and 11 injured. Two of the dead, a 56-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were killed by artillery fire in the Krasnopillia community. A 59-year-old woman died in the hospital from wounds suffered in a guided bomb strike, the same weapon that killed a Sumy couple in September.

In Kharkiv Oblast, regional head Oleh Syniehubov said Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and 13 other settlements with six guided bombs, Lancet and Molniya drones, 17 FPV drones, and about 100 other drones. The attacks killed five people and injured 49. In Kharkiv city, two women aged 66 and 80 were killed and 42 people were injured, including three children. Three men were killed in the Zolochiv and Derhachi communities. Damage was recorded in the Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv districts.

On the morning of October 3, Russian strike drones hit Izium, setting fire to a warehouse at a processing enterprise and to private homes, and damaging an apartment building. The city military administration reported five people injured.

In Donetsk Oblast, regional head Vadym Filashkin said Russian attacks on October 2 injured 10 civilians, nine in Kramatorsk and one in Sloviansk. In Kramatorsk, 12 high-rise buildings, a private house, two administrative buildings, an industrial building, a shop, five garages, a bus, a truck, and six cars were damaged. In Bilozerske, in the Pokrovsk district, a high-rise building was destroyed.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian forces struck more than 10 times across three districts. A high-rise and a business center were hit in Dnipro, where four women aged 55 to 88 were injured, regional head Oleksandr Hanzha said.

In southern Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia Oblast absorbed 737 strikes on 55 settlements, including 20 airstrikes, 572 drone attacks, and 144 artillery strikes. Officials received 60 reports of damage, and two people were injured. In Kherson Oblast, regional head Oleksandr Prokudin said Russian forces shelled Kherson and 24 settlements, injuring four people and damaging five private houses, a post office, and a car.

In Mykolaiv, an October 2 attack with Shahed drones and an Iskander-M ballistic missile damaged port infrastructure, an office building, a hotel and restaurant complex, and a car service station. Three men were hospitalized. On October 3, Russia struck a Liberian-flagged cargo ship in an Odesa region port, killing a crew member and injuring three, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said.

European Parliament Adopts Resolution Calling for an EU Strategy Against “Islamist Entryism” and Muslim Brotherhood Networks

Image: Video screenshot via @CelineImart/X

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for an EU strategy against “Islamist entryism” and Muslim Brotherhood networks.

“Entryism” means using charities, student groups, anti-racism work, and democratic language to gain influence in institutions and civil society.

The tally was 381 in favor, 167 against, and 15 abstentions.

The lead sponsor was Céline Imart, a French Les Républicains MEP in the center-right EPP group and a farmer from the Tarn, was the lead sponsor. Negotiators from Renew, the ECR, and the Patriots also backed the text. Imart noted the Socialists and the far left boycotted it.

Although the resolution is non-binding and does not ban any group by itself, Parliament asks the EU to:

  • Build a method for spotting Islamist entryism and related networks.
  • Tighten checks on EU funding, partnerships, and beneficiaries linked to political Islam, and publish an overview of funds already paid to people or groups suspected of Muslim Brotherhood ties.
  • Have the Council assess whether Muslim Brotherhood-linked entities, front groups, financial relays, youth networks, and coordinators should be added to the EU terrorist list.
  • Exclude FEMYSO (the Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organizations), which the sponsors treat as a Brotherhood youth structure, from EU institutions and events.
  • Strengthen visa and residence controls, including an EU list of hate preachers, and work more closely with Europol and Eurojust.

Imart shared, “It’s done. And it’s historic.”

“The European Parliament has just adopted my resolution against Islamist entryism and the networks of the Muslim Brotherhood. I’ve broken a taboo that Europe has been dragging around like a chain: this victory signifies a major doctrinal shift in the institutions.”

“Proud to have carried this text through to the end. Thank you to the negotiators from the other groups with whom I had the pleasure of working—excluding the socialists and the far left, who boycotted the text. We were able to transcend partisan divides on a major issue for our societies and our youth.”

From the European Parliament:

MEPs call for more vigilance against Islamist entryism, including funding controls, scrutiny of networks, and stronger cross-border cooperation.

In a resolution adopted on Thursday with 381 votes in favour, 167 against, and 15 abstentions, MEPs condemn the strategies of Islamist entryism, which aims to weaken European values, democratic institutions, and public order and social cohesion.

Institutional vigilance and the fight against discrimination

MEPs condemn Islamist entryism targeting democratic institutions, the rule of law, equality between women and men, and fundamental freedoms. They stress that protecting Muslim citizens from discrimination is a democratic obligation, while warning against treating organised Islamist networks as representative interlocutors. While Europe must remain free, open and faithful to its principles, it can “no longer fund, consult or legitimise networks that use its language, procedures and funding to weaken its values from within”.

Parliament calls for a European methodology to identify entryism, including confusion between religion and politics, institutional doublespeak, opaque financing, recurring partnerships, links to identified networks, and organisations or networks being re-established in new forms. MEPs stress that anti-discrimination policies must not be used to shield Islam from criticism or legitimise organised Islamist networks, while calling for support to civil society actors and Muslim representatives who defend democratic values and resist Islamist pressure. MEPs believe that the practice of concealing the face in public poses an unacceptable challenge to public security and law enforcement, so they support all national measures aimed at prohibiting full-face coverings (niqab or burqa) in public as a necessary step for social cohesion, public safety and the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, in particular women. EU institutions should strengthen checks before engaging with organisations that may be involved in entryism strategies – including the Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) and other structures linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Possible terrorist listing

Parliament asks the Council to assess whether entities or individuals linked to the Muslim Brotherhood should be added to the EU list of terrorist organisations, looking beyond formal structures to associated entities, front organisations, financial relays, youth networks and individuals in leadership or coordination roles. Where the applicable criteria are met, Parliament calls for corresponding restrictive measures.

Funding controls and cross-border cooperation

Parliament also calls for:

  • full traceability of EU funding, stronger due diligence and greater use of exclusion tools under the Financial Regulation;
  • a Commission overview of EU funds awarded to people or entities suspected of links to the Muslim Brotherhood or political Islam;
  • welcomes initiatives by member states to draw up national lists of hate preachers and calls for the establishment of such a list at EU level, which should lead to tighter visa and residence controls for such individuals;
  • stronger scrutiny of foreign funding and transnational partnerships, particularly involving actors linked to Qatar or Türkiye; and
  • greater use of Schengen tools and EU databases, backed by Europol and Eurojust cooperation within their mandates.

President Trump awards the National Medal of Science to Elon Musk – October 8, 2026

President Trump on Thursday awarded Elon Musk and five other technology moguls the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

During a technology summit, dubbed the “New Golden Age Summit” at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, Trump awarded the medals and highlighted his agenda for American innovation, “super intelligence,” and space exploration.

Trump also awarded the National Medal of Science to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and Advanced Micro Devices CEO Lisa Su. He awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to founder and CEO of Dell Technologies, Michael Dell, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Trump personally handed out the awards. Musk received the award “for engineering achievements of extraordinary ambition and scale that have pushed the frontiers of space exploration, intelligent systems, communications, and beyond, renewing American technological leadership and opening a new chapter in American manufacturing.”

President Trump gave a long introductory speech, praising Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, during which he noted that “SpaceX saved NASA from relying on foreign nations to send our astronauts into space.”

Trump described Musk as “an industrial titan, a brilliant engineer, and one of the greatest technology founders to ever live.” Trump further called him a “national treasure” and “our modern-day Thomas Edison.”

Transcript:

We honor an industrial titan, a brilliant engineer, and one of the greatest technology founders to ever live. His name is Elon Musk. Quite honestly, there is nobody like him. Few Americans in history have done more to advance America’s national interest than Elon. In one field after another, his genius and determination have made science-fiction into reality, and that is so true.

Elon founded SpaceX with his life savings in 2002 and created the first privately developed liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit in the face of vanishingly impossible odds. Nobody thought it was possible to do the things he’s doing and in so many different ways. SpaceX saved NASA from relying on foreign nations to send our astronauts into space, and I want to congratulate SpaceX on the safe return of Crew 12 from the International Space Station just a few hours ago. Congratulations!

We wanted to make sure. Could you imagine? If things didn’t work out so well, it would be not a very happy moment. I wonder if he’d be here. I think he might not be here, but it always works out well for Elon, right? We’re proud of you. Very proud of you. National treasure.

Under Elon’s leadership, SpaceX has also developed Starship, the largest rocket in history, which is caught out of thin air and for rapid reuse, and it’s the first time anyone’s ever seen anything quite like it. They also created the largest ever communication satellite network, Starlink. And in North Carolina, I will tell you personally because I was involved, we had a hurricane, one of the great water hurricanes of all time — delivered more water than at any time that we can remember or in record. It saved hundreds of lives by calling Elon.

I remember the governor said, “Sir, is there any way, do you know a man named Elon Musk?” I said, “I happen to know him. Yes.” “We need Starlink” because the water was so deep that many islands were created, and the people had no way of getting off those islands, and they had no communication. And they said, “we cannot get anybody to help us.” And I called up Elon, and it was like impossible to get this equipment, and he had it there in a matter of hours and saved hundreds of lives. He saved hundreds of lives in North Carolina, so I never forgot that experience. It was a terrible time, and the job he did, and he acted so fast. Everybody said they were impossible to get. So, thank you, Elon, for that very special moment.

In addition, Elon created Tesla, the first successful new car manufacturer in over 75 years, producing the first commercially viable electric cars with the first consumer self-driving technology.

And interestingly, when you mentioned Tesla, my uncle, Dr. John Trump, was commissioned by the United States government to do a report on Nikola Tesla. They wanted to know: Was he real or not real? Was he a true genius or not? My uncle, after a fairly short period of time determined that he was a true and great genius, and that he was real in every single way. Otherwise, you’d have to change the name of the car company. You wouldn’t want to be associated.

See now, if I did the report, Elon, I might say, “he wasn’t that good.” But my uncle was a different kind of a person than I am, and he gave Tesla the highest report. He said he was a true, great genius. So, very nice.

Through Neuralink, Elon is also restoring sight, speech, and motion to those who cannot see, talk, or move, and he turned SpaceX AI into one of the world’s leaders in superintelligence. Elon is our modern-day Thomas Edison, and Elon, I want to congratulate you.

You’re my friend, and all of that. But you are a very, very special guy. Thank you very much, and congratulations, Elon. Great job.
