In a controversial decision, the Stamford Board of Education has voted to remove Columbus Day and Veterans Day from the list of school holidays, requiring students to attend school on these dates.

The decision, passed with a 5-3 vote, overruled previous years’ push-back from local veterans and Italian-Americans.

The motion’s supporters, Joshua Esses, Michael Hyman, Gabriela Koc, Versha Munshi-South, and Antonia Better-Wirz, advocated for a shorter school year, arguing that a 181-day calendar extending into mid-June was too long.

Esses suggested offsetting the number of school days by eliminating not only Columbus and Veterans Day but also the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan, and the second day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. However, the latter proposition found no favor among the board members, leaving the focus on Columbus and Veterans Day.

The proposal was initially brought up by board member Versha Munshi-South during the Labor Committee meeting on January 9, according to Stamford Advocate.

Munshi-South said, “The students were using primary sources to investigate the true history of Columbus and I can tell you that, based on primary source research, no, they did not conclude that Columbus was a hero… I don’t think it makes sense to teach students one thing in class and then have Columbus Day off. It’s a mixed message for students.”

However, board member Becky Hamman expressed concerns about this approach, emphasizing the potential polarization in depicting Columbus solely as a villain and advocating a more balanced perspective.

The decision has met with mixed reactions. Stamford local and veteran Alfred Fusco of the Italian-American service organization UNICO expressed dismay at the board’s decision, highlighting the significance of Columbus Day and the importance of recognizing Veterans Day.

“It was a gut punch. It was terrible. It had no inclination,” Fusco told abc7.

“A lot of bad things happened in this country after the discovery, let’s not whitewash it. I said what happened on October 12, 1492, the discovery of America, was the most significant event in the history of the human race,” Fusco added.

Veterans Day is a time to honor and recognize the sacrifices made by military veterans. These heroes have put their lives at risk and spent significant time away from their families to serve their country, ensuring the safety and freedom of their fellow citizens.

Veteran Marvin Ellis wrote on X, “For the sake of your children’s mental health and the soul of this nation, I highly recommend taking your children out of public schools. It might be tough at first, but two years from now, believe me, you will be thanking yourself…”

A massive fire has engulfed Feather Crest Farms, located east of Kurten, Texas, in Brazos County, causing widespread alarm and prompting a massive response from multiple fire departments.

The fire, which was reported just after 5 p.m. near Fickey Road east of Kurten, has become a major concern for local authorities and residents.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Bryan Texas Utilities announced that, in order to ensure the safety of firefighters responding to the fire, system operators would be temporarily disconnecting service for approximately 140 customers.

Early reports indicate that the fire has consumed a building and several tanks on the premises of Feather Crest Farms. Eyewitnesses have reported hearing a loud explosion prior to the outbreak of the fire, suggesting a possible cause, although this has yet to be confirmed by officials.

Authorities have issued a stern warning to the public to avoid the area to ensure emergency vehicles have unimpeded access. The size and intensity of the fire have made it a challenging task for the firefighters, who are working tirelessly to contain the flames.

A news outlet in Spain trashed Hillary Clinton after she was spotted looking like an idiot trying to dance following a meeting in Madrid with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Hillary Clinton brought the cringe with her during a trip to Sevilla on January 19,” The Olive Press, a news outlet in Spain wrote on X.

The news outlet blasted Hillary Clinton for having no clue of the “iconic dance.”

“She was called up to dance La Macarena with the original singers from Los del Río,” The Olive Press wrote. “She tried it gamely despite clearly having no clue of the iconic dance that accompanies the song.”

FORMER US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was dragged up to throw hands to the iconic dance La Macarena during her recent trip to Sevilla.

Her trip coincided with the 30th anniversary of the 90’s classic, which went on to become an unofficial anthem of husband Bill Clinton’s re-election campaign in 1996.

And it just so happened that the tuxedoed duo who sang the original song, Los del Rio, were present at the Palacio de las Dueñas bash, held in Hillary’s honour.

The former first lady was quickly shanghaied into joining in with the sevillano duo as they did an impromptu rendition – complete with arm movements and sashays.

She took the imposition with good grace and tried gamely, despite looking a little alarmed. But it soon became clear that she had no clue about the dance routine.

Meteorologists in Northern Texas were baffled last week when their radar systems detected a thinly-shaped blob drifting across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The National Weather Service reported its radar systems picked up a strange blob sweeping over the Dallas Fort Worth area despite it not raining.

After further examination, the National Weather Service of Fort Worth stated that their “best guess is chaff.”

The NWS continued, “The military will sometimes run exercises where they release chaff, and it’s completely harmless. But it definitely shows up on radar as it is quite reflective.”

Chaff is a “radiofrequency countermeasure released by military aircraft, ships, and vehicles to confuse enemy radar.”

Chaff was first used on the battlefield during Operation Gomorrah in Germany and notably used the day before D-Day.

Radar technology is useful for detecting meteorological changes and patterns, but earlier this month, weather equipment picked up a more baffling phenomenon in North Texas. On Jan. 20, the National Weather Service (NWS) of Fort Worth reported its radar systems had tracked something unusual in the area. A time-lapsed video clip showed a thinly-shaped blob sweeping over Dallas-Fort Worth, but it wasn’t raining.

“Wondering what this is? We were too!” a NWS representative posted on X. “Our best guess is chaff.”

Chaff is an aluminum-coated substance made of glass fibers that are less than one centimeter in length, per an article in the Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety journal. Chaff is used as a military radiofrequency countermeasure and released from aircrafts, ships and vehicles to confuse enemy radar systems. It was first deployed during World War II when American bombers flew over Germany, according to a 1998 report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). While chaff has its tactical uses, it can also interfere with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic radar and cause power outages.

The people of Venezuela are starving. They live in a country where they have no voice. They have watched their once wealthy nation, full of oil deposits, get taken over by communist dictators. They are living in a Marxist hell-hole.

The only hope for nations when despot communists rule is to vote them out, but the communists own the elections. So in Venezuela today we see this.

The only thing worse than that is what Venezuela is living with right now, a dictatorship in which there is no hope of democratic change or equal justice. In Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuela his voice is the only one that matters. It has been that way since he took over as the hand-picked successor to communist blowhard Hugo Chavez in 2013.

Since then, opposition figures have tried everything to get a fair chance at defeating Maduro at the ballot box and at every turn they have been thwarted. Some were arrested and wound up in jail on trumped up charges. Others were simply told they weren’t allowed to run. The latest effort in this long series involves Maria Corina Machado, a candidate who supports free-markets instead of the black market socialist economy which has resulted in extreme inflation and more than 7 million Venezuelans fleeing the country to survive.

Machado is well liked and last October she was the overwhelming winner of a 10-candidate race to become the main opposition candidate in the next presidential election. There was just one problem. Nicolas Maduro’s government had announced prior to the opposition election that Machado was forbidden from holding office for 15 years. Why? That’s a question you ask in a country that isn’t a banana republic. In Venezuela the only answer is because President Maduro considers her a threat.

Today, Venezuela’s Supreme Court upheld the government order that Machado not be allowed to hold office for 15 years, meaning the opposition’s top candidate can’t run.

Ms. Machido is being held in home captivity. Anyone who helps her is punished or arrested. This is the communist way.

What we see in Venezuela we are witnessing here in the US. Corrupt courts override the Constitution and rule that the border should be kept open.

The current leader is not running the show; he is too old and senile. Those running him and the country, hate Americans. They push more radical judges and fraudulent elections where machines are used that lack security and allow bad actors to flip elections for the senile old guy.

The economy is only running due to massive government spending. The government spends money on foreign wars, and censoring conservatives – those the Biden gang hates.

The justice department is totally corrupt and the top candidate to win the last and next election is being prosecuted in corrupt kangaroo courts on bogus made-up charges.

America is quicking morphing into Venezuela. Wake up America.

Footage provided by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin showed two SUVs dropping off illegals at the southern border in Jacumba, California (East San Diego County) on Monday. The group consisted of people from China, Turkey and India. The illegals walked around the border wall into the US without hesitation.

Jacumba, which is about 75 miles east of San Diego, has been a hangout for thousands of illegals after crossing the border. The high desert has been a drop-off location for smugglers for illegals to live in makeshift camps.

The group Border Kindness, which is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that helps provide resources for illegals, has provided food and water in areas where terrain is difficult to traverse in the San Diego mountains.

Since January of 2021, there has been an estimated 11 million illegals that have poured into the US. That number is growing rapidly, considering the Biden regime’s unwillingness to stop them.

California has seen its share of illegals pouring across the border. However, Texas has seen worse days. TGP had reported in December of 2023 of a train heading to Eagle Pass filled with illegal aliens.

The sports and entertainment world is buzzing with skepticism and theories surrounding the high-profile romance between Hollywood elite Taylor Swift and Mr. Pfizer Travis Kelce.

Paige VanZant, mixed martial artist and former UFC fighter, has now added her voice to the chorus of critics, sharing her own past experience, where she was approached to fake a relationship with an NFL player, adding credence to her theory.

The 29-year-old professional wrestler declared the bold statement during an episode of her podcast last month, “Paige and Austin: A Kickass Love Story,” which she co-hosts alongside her 33-year-old husband, Austin Vanderford.

“I was on Dancing with the Stars… At the time, I had hired a publicist. That was just kind of what you did. Everybody in LA has a publicist, and a publicist’s job is to make you more famous, to get you in magazines, TV shows, news articles, whatever, what have you. They get you interviews, this and that. So, at one point, my publicist called me and said, ‘hey, we got a call from this NFL player’s publicist,’” VanZant said.

She was then approached with a proposal for a staged date with an NFL player, complete with planned paparazzi and orchestrated public displays of affection. However, VanZant backed out at the last minute, standing up the unnamed NFL player.

“I am trying to be more, I guess, ‘famous,’” she mused. “I’m trying to become more successful. And of course, they recommended that I go on the date. They’re like, ‘Alright, we’ll have paparazzi standing by.’ So, they plan where the paparazzi is going to be. They plan, ‘We’re going to get a picture of you guys doing this at dinner. Maybe you’ll hold hands in this spot.’ They plan where you’re going to do everything. Yeah, I agree to it. Whatever. Get the NFL player’s number. We’re texting. He plans to pick me up at my apartment that I’m staying in. And the date comes, he shows up, calls me, calls me, calls me. And I pretended not to be home because I just don’t… I don’t want to. I chickened out.”

The UFC veteran didn’t hold back in her critique of the Swift-Kelce narrative, stating, “I think that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelsey love story, it is 100% fake. I truly believe it is publicity.”

“Whatever side you fall on, I believe it is 100% fake. It is publicity. One, it’s huge for the NFL, whether you think so or not, because, yes, the NFL is big; Taylor Swift is huge. And now she’s getting an entirely different demographic to come watch the NFL that never was interested in it. Think of the wives buying Travis Kelce jerseys now, or ‘Swifty’ jerseys for Taylor Swift. And it’s a huge publicity play on both fronts. It’s good for Taylor Swift, it’s good for the NFL, it’s good for Travis Kelce. There are so many strategic things happening.”

“Let me tell you more. Another reason Taylor Swift had, I know this just—it was a big news story—because her old manager owned the rights to a lot of her albums. So she then made ‘Taylor’s Version,’ which means she wanted all of her fans to only listen to Taylor’s version because she owns that version, and her prior manager didn’t get any income from it. She got the income from Taylor’s version of her albums, which she owned. The moment Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift started dating, the NFL changed their bio to ‘Taylor’s Version.’”

“So are you trying to say that Taylor Swift owns part of the NFL, or it’s just interest? I believe it’s publicity. Every single game, it just seems so fake to me and so phony. All of a sudden, right when the cameras are on Taylor Swift, she’s doing a secret handshake with Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes’ wife and brother. They’re doing this secret, coordinated handshake right when the cameras pan on them.”

Laura Loomer also pointed this out during the recent Chiefs vs Ravens game.

“That audio sounds like Taylor Swift is wearing a mic. Are they now putting a mic on Taylor at NFL games to plant staged clips & boost ratings by falsely presenting it as organic content? You can’t hear Romo. But her audio is Crystal clear. This is staged propaganda. She’s micd up,” Loomer said.

Woke, DEI promoter Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban might be in hot water with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) after posting a stupid tweet over the weekend regarding federal hiring.

As Outkick.com reported Monday, Cuban defended his hiring practices to an anonymous Twitter account called The Rabbit Hole who asked whether Cuban has hired people on the basis of demographics. The account noted doing so violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Cuban responded that he has never hired an individual exclusively based on race, gender, or religion. However, he apparently did admit that he uses “diversity” as a “competitive advantage” when deciding whether to hire job candidates.

The major problem with Cuban’s response is that he’s completely wrong on Title VII law. EEOC Commissioner Andrea Lucas schooled Cuban by pointing out that ethnicity and gender can’t play any “motivating factor” in hiring.

“Competitive advantage” = a motivating factor. In other words, Cuban may have admitted to an illegal hiring practice to his nearly nine million followers as Outkick.com notes.
