Splitting Russia From China Is Possible—and Vital

Splitting Russia From China Is Possible—and Vital

Stories about “autocracy” and “democracy” obscure American interests in Asia.

When debating grand strategy, it pays to consult the whiskered sages and practitioners of yesteryear. One finds the near total unanimity of view among everyone from Thucydides and Otto von Bismarck through Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger that, everything else being equal, it’s better to balance with other great powers against your competitors than to have your competitors balance against you. It is remarkable, then, that leading neoconservative epigones have spent decades inveighing against and working to overturn this iron law of international politics when applied to the most important great power dynamic of our time: the U.S.–Russia–China strategic triangle.

This issue was reignited in recent months by a new push from the Trump administration to pursue a framework for diplomatic and economic normalization with Russia. One of the reasons for doing so is to apply downward pressure on what has been a steadily deepening partnership between Moscow and Beijing that, while not officially formulated against the U.S., is nonetheless inimical to American interests across the world.

The latest broadside against these efforts comes from the former Ambassador Michael McFaul and Professor Evan S. Medeiros in Foreign Affairs. Trying to “peel” Russia away from China, they argue, is a bad idea because Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has no reason to acquiesce to such a scheme and, even if he did, this kind of rebalancing would “bring few real benefits to the American people and come at a steep cost to other U.S. interests.”

McFaul and Medeiros somberly warn that Putin will exploit a diplomatic thaw with the U.S. to serve his own ends, balking at the notion that Russia’s leader would prioritize Russian interests. But that’s precisely the point: The beauty of maneuvering within the balance of power rather than pushing against it, as the U.S. has intermittently done for the past three decades, is getting others to engage with you not out of the goodness of their hearts but because it’s in their interest to do so. The authors end with the rather astonishing admonition that trying to peel Russia away from China is imprudent because it would make Moscow a “pivot player in the competition between Beijing and Washington.”

In fact, Moscow is inherently a pivot player between Beijing and Washington. Recognizing and acting on this reality sets the stage for a long-overdue strategic retrenchment that lightens the American burden in Europe, something most presidents since Dwight Eisenhower have tried to accomplish, and generates a host of positive spillover effects that would put Washington on better footing to productively engage China. Indeed, for Russia to act as more of a pivot player and less as China’s situational partner against the West would in itself be a major victory for the U.S. and Europe.

It is important here to proceed with a healthy dose of epistemological humility. No one is suggesting that it is feasible or necessarily even desirable to formally ally with Russia against China. Not only would Moscow never go for it for some of the reasons ably rehearsed by McFaul, but even if it did, an “alliance” along these lines may induce the Chinese to counter with aggressive balancing behavior that could very well create more problems than it solves.

Rather, the realist claim should be this: There are inherent fault lines in the Russia–China relationship, the most important being Moscow’s concern with playing junior partner to an economically more powerful China. The Western diplomatic and economic maximum pressure campaign in the wake of Russia’s 2022 Ukraine invasion has rendered the Russia–China relationship more lopsided than ever, with the Chinese market occupying a whopping 36.5 percent of Russia’s imports and 30.5 percent of its exports as of 2023 even as Russia only comprises roughly four percent of Chinese foreign commerce.

The tensions stemming from Russia’s uncomfortable dependence on its Chinese neighbor have been suppressed only by Moscow’s existential short-term need to balance against the West. It stands to reason that a stabilization or improvement in relations between Russia and the West, but especially between Moscow and Washington, will allow these tensions to rise to the fore in ways that will inevitably prompt a degree of strategic distance between Russia and China.

Working out a framework for Moscow to reenter Western commodities markets and financial institutions pending a negotiated settlement in Ukraine will cut into China’s growing economic leverage over Russia. It would also give Moscow a stake in stable, constructive relations with the West rather than a continued incentive to work with China to create and bolster alternatives to Western economic and political platforms. This will enable Russia to pursue more freely and vigorously its national interests in areas where Moscow and Beijing do not necessarily see eye to eye, including hedging against China’s growing influence in Central Asia, dialing back certain kinds of security and defense technology cooperation with China, pursuing independent pacific partnerships with states like Vietnam in ways that indirectly frustrate Chinese power projection, providing a backchannel for nuclear talks with North Korea that do not have to directly involve China, further deepening its relationship with India to the chagrin of Chinese observers, and blocking the evolution of the BRICS as a bloc oriented against the West. None of these developments is a silver bullet in isolation, but together they add up to a more propitious climate for engaging China by itself rather than confronting a unified anti-Western, Sino-Russian bloc.

McFaul and likeminded voices have insisted for years that any effort to draw Russia away from China is a fool’s errand because the Moscow-Beijing axis is an ideologically ordained entente between autocracies against democracies. This is a kind of self-fulfilling geopolitical prophecy that tries to obfuscate the consequences of concrete policy decisions made by successive neoconservative policymakers since 1991 behind a contrived metaphysical narrative that has nothing to do with actual Russian or Chinese strategic objectives. As with much of the post–Cold War Atlanticist canon, it’s a story we tell ourselves to justify a failing and unsustainable status quo. Part of adapting to a multipolar world is to work toward a renewed sense of foreign policy agency, of America as a geopolitically nimble actor capable of pragmatically engaging allies and competitors alike. There are few better or more pressing places to apply this skill than the U.S.–Russia–China strategic triangle.

Death of a Company Man

Death of a Company Man

Theodore McCarrick was a model for the Catholic Church’s dysfunctions.

Theodore McCarrick, the erstwhile archbishop of Washington, DC, shuffled off this mortal coil Thursday with little fanfare. The disgraced cardinal’s decease was overshadowed by the global economic chaos following Wednesday’s “Liberation Day” tariffs.

How do you obituarize a problem like McCarrick? Do you start at the end, with the old man defrocked, silenced, and put in the cupboard following the revelations of sexual misconduct and abuse? Do you start at the beginning, with the young man a protege of the sinister and powerful Francis Cardinal Spellman? The photo-ops with grandees of the American political class? The strange affair of the letter from Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the future Pope Benedict XVI? The funeral of Beau Biden?

I met the late cardinal twice, very briefly. The first time, during a visitation to my childhood parish, he asked me whether I had considered becoming a priest—I was 7 or 8. The second time, as my family was hustling to catch up with the main group of marchers at the annual March for Life, we passed McCarrick’s entourage. My toddler brother was pitching a fit (as usual), and McCarrick wryly blessed him personally. Chez Russo opinion on McCarrick was mixed: His affinity for Democratic politicos, especially pro-abortion politicos, was a point against him. On the other hand, he publicly affirmed the teachings of the Church on a variety of increasingly unpopular social issues, he kept the archdiocese solvent and tightly administered, he was strong for the Knights of Columbus, and he was an excellent recruiter for the priesthood in a period of vocations free-fall. The neighboring Archdiocese of Baltimore, by contrast, chronically teetered on the edge of bankruptcy and spread its priests thinner and thinner. (As it still does, on both counts.) On the whole, it was felt, on the balance, that McCarrick was probably more good than bad. He was canny, competent, politic, and agreeable.

He showed many of the features of a company man—an ancient character in the Church. This was held against him in retrospect; Catholics love nothing more than griping about high-flying clergy. I tend to think this is somewhat misplaced. It’s the sexual misconduct that was the problem. Company men are inevitable; if they’re good at their jobs, assuming you’re on board with the mission of the company itself, they may even be desirable. Not everyone who works for your civilization-spanning organization is going to be a Gregory the Great. You may as well have competence in the inevitable ranks of time-servers.

There is a point here. The Church has spent the past 60 years or so divesting itself of its secular pomps, its conspicuous wealth and its claims to power. These were once attractions that weighed against the somewhat dreary prospect of lifelong celibacy. With these elements gone, smart, ambitious boys have little incentive to go into the Church. The ones who are left are the sincerely pious and the ideologues, who don’t tend to make inspiring administrators as a matter of empirical record; those with sinister motivations, like preying on seminarians; and incompetents, the bottom quintile of nonprofit administrators’ programs. The razing of the bastions has not purified the Church so much as guaranteed a hollowing out of its human capital. The quality of company men is in bad decline.

The crisis of the Catholic Church has been of a piece with the postwar crisis in every other Western institution. Human nature didn’t change in 1945, or 1963, or 1968, or 1974. Wishing pure motivations into the mass of people has not worked terribly well. Monkeying with the usual working of meritocracy to make ideological points has, likewise, not worked terribly well. Nor has disclaiming traditional structures been without its own set of power politics; this papacy’s perpetual disruption of the usual career trajectories at the Curia has concentrated administrative control in the singular, often capricious person of the current pope, a state of affairs that has been the cause of widespread dissatisfaction among churchmen of every ideological bent.

In the world of Western secular politics, desperate reaction against the madness has been ascendant. For Catholics, the question is this: Is it too late for the Church to salvage the stock of its company men? Or will it be incompetents and McCarricks as far as the eye can see?

Anti-Israel Activist Students Barge Into Classroom at UC-Boulder – Get Dragged Out by Their Keffiyehs (VIDEO)

Student activists who are obsessed with their hatred of Israel have become an annoying problem at schools across the country.

At the University of Colorado-Boulder, people have clearly had enough. When a small group of these dopes decided to invade a classroom, they got more than they bargained for and were dragged out by their keffiyehs.

No one has any patience for this foolishness anymore. The video below could represent a turning point.

The College Fix reported:

A trio of pro-Hamas student activists recently barged into a University of Colorado Boulder classroom and were promptly hauled back out by their keffiyehs.

The Daily Camera reports after entering the “Designing for Defense” class last week, one of the activists went to the front of the room and prepared to read a statement, whereupon a man who appeared to be the instructor said “No, you may not.”

He then grabbed the statement and said “Get out.”

Soon after, a video from the Buffs 4 Palestine Instagram page shows two men, one of whom “appeared to be [neither] an employee or student,” according to the Camera, dragging the activists from the room.

“Two students were violently assaulted by a CU Boulder professor for interrupting a Designing for Defense class, a course that directly collaborates with the U.S. military to develop weapons and surveillance tools while the Israeli regime carries out a U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza,” a Buffs 4 Palestine statement reads.

“Their action was not only justified, it was morally necessary. ”

The group demanded the class be “shut down,” that CU divest from Israel and “all arms manufacturers,” cease cooperation with ICE, and issue a public condemnation of the “assault” against the activists.

Reagan Era Economist Art Laffer Praises Trump Tariff Plan: ‘A Win-Win Strategy’ (VIDEO)

Reagan-era economist Art Laffer recently appeared on the FOX Business Network and praised Trump’s tariff plan. Laffer broke it down, even including what he sees as the apparent exit plan, describing it as a ‘win-win strategy.’

Laffer’s view is quite a change from the hair-on-fire approach to this topic embraced by the vast majority of the media. He even suggests that this will be better for other countries in the long run.

Of course, the biggest beneficiary will be the United States.

From the FOX Business Network:

Economist says Trump’s tariffs are a ‘win-win strategy’ to negotiate trade deals

Former Reagan economic advisor Art Laffer said Tuesday on “Varney & Co” that both the world and U.S. would see benefit from President Donald Trump’s tariffs and the trade negotiations that arise out of them…

“The win-win strategy is Trump is just phenomenal at negotiating,” Laffer said Tuesday, adding that he agreed with President Donald Trump that foreign countries getting hit with the president’s latest levies “have far higher tariffs and non-tariff barriers and quotas than we do.”

“But what he’s done now is he’s gotten them in a position where they’re going to lose their access to the U.S. market if they don’t redress these types of inequities that they’ve done,” the former Reagan economic advisor continued. “And Trump is a master negotiator, and I’m watching these people calling into Trump — this is exactly what he does beautifully and wonderfully — and I believe he can negotiate freer trade deals, get those tariffs way, way down, much lower than they are now, by primarily those people lowering their tariffs and us keeping ours low or even going lower, and it’ll be a win, win.”

Democrats and even some RINOs continue to shriek about this but of course, offer no alternative solutions. Trump is doing exactly what he promised in the campaign. He is putting America first.

WATCH: As Tom Homan Highlights Missing Children in Speech to AZ Legislature, Radical Open Borders Democrats Walk Out Holding Signs with Illegal Aliens’ Names then Protest Outside of Capitol – One Dem Lawmaker Cries!

Arizona Democratic lawmakers and activists got triggered by Trump Border Czar Tom Homan’s visit to the state and address to members of the State Legislature.

One House member even broke down in tears during a speech outside the Capitol.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Homan spoke to legislators in the Copper State Tuesday about the southern border and what the Trump Administration needs to stop the millions of violent criminals and terrorists who were allowed into our country under Joe Biden.

WATCH LIVE: Border Czar Tom Homan Addresses Joint Session of Arizona Legislature at 3 PM ET

During his speech, a small group of liberals was seen outside the Capitol screaming and banging drums.

Via Rachel Alexander:

Arizona House Speaker Steve Montenegro told The Gateway Pundit “it’s sad” that the Democrats are focused on fighting for illegals “instead of the children that are missing, instead of the Americans that are losing their lives from fentanyl” or “individuals, like Laken Riley, who are losing their lives because of brutal terrorists.”

While the Border Czar was addressing lawmakers, Democrats stormed out of the Capitol as Homan began speaking about the over 300,000 children who were smuggled into this country and lost by the Biden regime. They were holding signs with the names of illegal aliens who were deported.

Homan responded with fire after they stood up to walk out, telling the lawmakers, “I love haters. They make my day.”

“They chose the wrong time to walk out,” Montenegro told The Gateway Pundit. “I think that we have to remind ourselves who elected us, who is expecting us to keep them safe, and those are Americans, Arizonans, who expect better from their elected officials.” He then slammed the Democrats’ sign stunt, saying, “Those are the names that should be on any signs.”

Democrat State Rep. Betty Villegas gave an angry and dishonest speech outside the Capitol after she and her colleagues left the building. She ranted about the rights of people who are in our country illegally and claimed that ICE “deports people who are lawfully present in this country.”

Villegas also accused Republicans in the legislature of “political theater,” while claiming that Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs’s SAFE initiative “has already taken over 6 million fentanyl pills off our streets.” However, Montenegro says he credits the law enforcement officers of Arizona for doing their job and the Trump Administration’s border reform for any success in combating the fentanyl crisis in Arizona.

WATCH:

Villegas: We’re here responding to political theater. The decision to bring Tom Homan to our capitol today is not about solving the real challenges we face at the border. It’s not about protecting public safety. It’s certainly not about supporting the hard working immigrant communities that are the backbone of our economy and culture in Arizona. What’s happening today is a farce, plain and simple, and the people of Arizona deserve better. Under Homan’s leadership, ICE was not only cruel, it is incompetent. Even by Trump era standards, it failed. His agency deports people who are lawfully present in this country. It separates families. It’s targeting people who have built lives here, who contribute, who pay taxes to raise, who raise children, and who care for their aging parents.

If Republicans truly wanted a serious conversation on the border, they would take a cue from Governor Hobbs’ SAFE initiative, which has already taken over 6 million fentanyl pills off our streets. That’s real leadership. That’s what public safety looks like. Instead, MAGA Republicans are trying to sell a false story that all undocumented people are criminals. That kind of rhetoric is dangerous. It’s wrong, and it hurts real people. These are not just numbers. They are people, people with families, people who go to church, who run businesses, who coach Little League, who care for our sick and our elderly, people who deserve dignity and due process. Speaker yesterday says we want to follow the rule of law. Not having due process is not following the rule of law! So yes, we walked out because we will not be part of a charade that tries to take away the fundamental rights of others because once you strip one group of their rights, it becomes easier to do it to the next and the next. We stand here today because we believe in a better Arizona, one rooted in truth, in compassion and enduring promise of justice for all.

Rep. Anna Abeytia cried as she spewed lies and gave a cringeworthy threat, mentioning she’s from the ghetto “West Side” of Phoenix and will not “stand idly by.” At one point, she accused Republicans of Fascism and White Supremacy and bizarrely called President Trump Republicans’ “political sugar daddy.”

WATCH:

Abeytia: I am here today to address the crucial issue that deeply affects our communities and our values as Americans. I will not sit quietly while the truth is whitewashed, while the reality of what’s happening is twisted to serve political agendas. Republicans are trying to clean up the political perception of these extra-judicial deportations by pushing false narratives, telling you not to believe your lying eyes. But I’m here to tell you that we will not let them sweep the truth under the rug. We know exactly what is happening, and we will not let them lie to Arizonans. I walked out today in protest because I refuse to be propagandized to about what the real issue is. Let’s be clear, this issue is not about border militarization. No, the issue is a broken immigration system and bad foreign policy. These are the real roots of the crisis. As a duly elected representative and as a proud Latina, I have the obligation to speak out in this moment, and I have an obligation to stand up for my community and stand up for what is right. It was my community of Maryville, one of the hardest hit communities during SB1070 and the rise of anti immigration sentiment. This is the same community that fought against injustice, against prejudice, and against hate. And now we are being targeted again, but this time, by a Trump hate wave. And let me be clear, I will not stand idly by. That is not what we do in the west side.

Arizonans elected Republicans. Arizona elected Republicans have made a choice. They’ve decided to throw the rule of law into the gutter, all in the name of satisfying their political sugar daddy, Donald Trump. They’ve thrown away their responsibility to uphold justice in favor of preserving their political power. These Republican officials, today’s Republican leaders, believe in power over patriotism, and that is a dangerous thing. What we’re seeing now happening in our communities is disgusting. We are seeing families torn apart, lives ruined, and asylum seekers being deported, deported to tortured prisons in El Salvador, where the judges have specifically ordered that they not be deported there. Why is this happening? Because today’s Republican Party is being led by people who are more interested in advancing their fascist White supremacist agenda than following the law. These are not people who care about justice. They care about control. They care about causing division and fear, and they will do anything, anything to enact their agenda. But I am here today to say enough is enough. I will not stand by and watch them terrorize my community. We will not let them dismantle the fabric of our society. We are here to stand up to these bullies. We say that we will not tolerate this cruelty, this law, this lawlessness, nor this hatred, hatred. We will fight back. We will continue to fight for our families, for our communities and for our dignity. We are standing on business here today because we are fighting for what’s right, and I will never apologize for that.

Mark Levin Sounds Alarm About Sharia Law Compliant City Planned in Texas – Cites Report From The Gateway Pundit! (AUDIO)

Conservative talk radio legend Mark Levin recently discussed the Islamic, Sharia Law compliant city being planned near Dallas in Texas and cited this report from the Gateway Pundit.

In the report, a retired police lieutenant describes his findings after looking into the matter and raises some major concerns. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has also spoken out about this and is investigating.

The entire concept of this planned community is un-American. We do not need or want countries to be formed within our country.

Mark’s show notes even mention the story in the episode description:

Understanding the Risks of Sharia Law in America

On Monday’s Mark Levin Show, Iran’s regime has a history of deceit and terrorism, including killing Americans and targeting leaders like President Trump. A single nuclear warhead could devastate a city, and it’s naive to think Iran wouldn’t attack the U.S. despite geographic distance. The goal isn’t to start a war with Iran but to prevent nuclear annihilation.

Accepting Iran’s pursuit of nukes contradicts American values, as they aim to destroy the West. Trump insists Iran must be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons, recognizing their terrorist nature and potential to deploy them.

Also, a retired police lieutenant, Douglas Deaton, has revealed disturbing details about a planned Sharia-compliant “Islamic mega-city” near Dallas, Texas, called EPIC City, sparking investigations by Texas officials. Gov Greg Abbott has responded by directing state agencies and the Texas Rangers to investigate allegations of illegal activities, emphasizing that Sharia law is not permitted in Texas. Such a city must never exist in the U.S., American law must be followed without exception, not Sharia law.

The clip below is cued to start at the 21:20 mark, so just press play:

As Mark says in the clip, he is planning to continue following this story as it develops. So will the Gateway Pundit, and big thanks to Mr. Levin for sharing it.

NASA Director Nominee Jared Isaacman on Returning to the Moon versus Focusing On Trip to Mars

Jared Isaacman:  the entrepreneur, pilot, philanthropist, and astronaut nominated by Trump for new NASA administrator.

President Donald J. Trump’s pick for new NASA administrator is the entrepreneur, pilot, philanthropist, and astronaut Jared Isaacman, who made headlines when he made the first spacewalk on a private mission, the Polaris Dawn.

As Isaacman is about to lead NASA face senators today (9) on his confirmation hearing, he is torn between two competing priorities: to return to the moon or to focus on going to Mars?

In his written statement, he states that the space agency ‘will prioritize an astronaut mission to Mars’, while also alerting that most American space programs ‘are over budget and behind schedule’.

Reuters reported:

“’We will prioritize sending American astronauts to Mars. Along the way, we will inevitably have the capabilities to return to the moon and determine the scientific, economic, and national security benefits of maintaining a presence on the lunar surface’, said Jared Isaacman, a 42-year-old billionaire entrepreneur, in written testimony for his U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation confirmation hearing on Wednesday.”

— DogeDesigner (@cb_doge) September 12, 2024

“Reuters reported on Monday that Isaacman told Senate staff last week that returning humans to the moon before China sends its own astronauts there is a national imperative. His remarks allayed some concerns that NASA’s multibillion-dollar moon effort could be upended by Trump and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s focus on Mars as a top destination for U.S. astronauts.”

NASA’s Artemis moon program was created by Trump in his first term to speed up the U.S. return to the moon, a ‘proving ground’ for the missions to Mars.

“After his assurances to lawmakers about the moon strategy, Isaacman’s written testimony raises questions on whether his prioritization of Mars would affect NASA’s existing moon missions or represent a rebranding of the program to give Mars a more central emphasis in the space agency’s strategy.”

Isaacman and the Polaris Dawn astronaut crew.

NASA has already spent billions of dollars in the delayed Lunar program.

“But in his second term, Trump has fixated on Mars in public remarks, while Musk, who spent $250 million in support of Trump’s presidential campaign and pushed for Isaacman’s nomination, openly considers the moon a distraction from his ultimate goal to send crews to the Red Planet.”

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT SIDING WITH LIBS? Watch TGP Reporter Cara Castronuova Ask Karoline Leavitt About Barrett at Today’s WH Briefing

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH THE FRAUDULENT JUSTICE AMY CONEY BARRETT?

Barrett sided with loony lib justices and Tren de Aragua gangs last week, after throwing J6 political hostages under the bus last year in another example of her despicable interpretation of the law (where she again sided with vindictive libs).

This reporter asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt the administration’s comment on Barrett’s decision at today’s Press Briefing at The White House.

“And my second question is about Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Does the administration have a comment on her decision to go with the liberals, and to go actually with the Tren de Araguas? This is the same Justice that actually sided against January 6th hostages last year. So does the administration have a comment? Are they disappointed in Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett?”

The four liberal justices of The United States Supreme Court.

Karoline Leavitt- “To your first question I do not have any to readout in terms of Venezuela. The President has imposed secondary tariffs on the Maduro regime and on Venezuela in the form of oil which is obviously going to have a crippling effect on the Maduro Regime and that’s the intended effect of this administration. As for the justice you mentioned, as for the Supreme Court, we’ve made our feelings very clear- we believe this was a massive victory. Certainly we wish this was a 9-0 decision because we firmly believe the President was well within in his Constitutional authority and the Supreme Court made that very clear last night. They put Judge Boasberg in his place. We called onto Supreme Court not reign in these judges, who are acting as Judicial activists – not real arbiters of the truth and the law, and that is exactly what we saw the Supreme Court do yesterday.”

Shockingly, Ketanji Brown Jackson sided with conservatives in the J6 case last year(Fischer v. United States), while Barrett sided with crazed liberals…making it clear she is a fan of jailing American citizens for decades for protesting shady elections…while going to bat for illegal gang members booted out of the country under the Wartime Enemies Act.

UNJUST Justice Barrett IS THE WORST. They don’t make immaculate justices like Clarence Thomas or Alito anymore. Praying that those two guys live long, long lives. Neil Gorsuch too.

One and the same.

What do you guys think? Is Barrett compromised…does the deep state have something on her? Is she just plain unable to intelligently interpret the law? Did she fall out of bed and hit her head after she was sworn in? Or was she always a deceptive liberal in disguise?

Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Victor Reacts: Decades of Economic Exploitation is Ending (VIDEO)

After decades of global economic exploitation from our trade partners, President Trump is putting the American worker first.

The Gateway Pundit reported,

President Donald Trump isn’t playing games with Communist China anymore.

Trump is set to unleash a devastating 104% tariff on Communist China this Wednesday after Beijing ignored his “12 o’clock” deadline to lift its retaliatory tariffs.

According to Fox Business, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dropped the bombshell earlier today, confirming that the tariffs kicked in at noon ET. Why? Because China’s commie overlords refused to back down from their own retaliatory duties on American goods.

According to FOX Business Network’s Edward Lawrence, the White House made the move swiftly and decisively.

“White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says 104% additional tariffs went into effect at noon eastern time because China has not removed its retaliation,” Lawrence reported. “The 104% additional tariff will be collected starting tomorrow, April 9th.”

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is throwing a full-blown tantrum, vowing to “fight to the end” after President Donald Trump delivered a righteous ultimatum: retract your outrageous 34% retaliatory tariff on American goods by April 8, or face a devastating 50% tariff wall from the United States starting April 9.

This is the kind of bold leadership America’s forgotten workers have been crying out for—and the CCP can’t handle it.

Last week, President Trump took a sledgehammer to decades of Chinese economic exploitation, slapping a 34% tariff on their imports to level the playing field against Beijing’s suffocating 67% trade barriers.

In typical CCP fashion, instead of negotiating in good faith, China resorted to propaganda, whining about “unilateral bullying” while conveniently ignoring its decades of economic warfare, including slave labor, forced technology transfers, and currency manipulation.

President Trump is not messing around. He is serious about standing up for the American worker. We will no longer be taken advantage of so that foreign countries can make themselves rich off our backs.
