President Trump recently decried the decision by professional sports teams, such as the former Cleveland Indians and Washington Redskins to bow down to cancel culture from the woke, radical left and change their team names.

Trump called the name changes for the current Cleveland Guardians and Washington Commanders “degrading” and “demeaning to Indians.”

He also weighed in on the controversy over Long Island’s Massapequa school district’s Chief mascot and team name, comparing the team to the Kansas City Chiefs, who have retained their name and arrowhead-themed logo amid leftist attacks on sports teams.

During a press conference in the Oval Office earlier this week, the great John Fredricks, host of Outside The Beltway, asked President Trump if he would be involved in a potential name change for the “Washington Commanders.”

While he did not say whether or not he would push the Washington, DC football team, the Commanders, formerly the Redskins, to change their name back in order to play at RFK Stadium, the team’s former home, he did share his and many American Indians’ distaste for the name change.

“I think it’s degrading to the Indian population, and it’s a great population, and they like when they’re, you know, called by various names,” he said with regard to the Redskins and the Cleveland Indians. “It just doesn’t make sense to me. So, you know, we’re about bringing common sense back to this country.”

Fredricks: For those of us that live here in the District, you said when you came in, you were going to make Washington, DC great again. One of the issues we’ve got right now is we understand there might be an imminent deal between the owner of the Washington football team, whatever you want to call them now, Commanders, and locally, in getting the Redskins back to DC in RFK Stadium. That’s on federal property. Are you going to be involved in that negotiation, and would one of the stipulations be they changed their name back to the Redskins?

Trump: That’s a little bit— Nobody’s asked me that one. Look, I think when— the Indian population is a great part of this country, great heritage, and we’re talking about Massapequa, Long Island, the Chiefs, they call themselves the chiefs. Well, the Kansas City Chiefs, they’re not changing their name. A great team, great people, great owners, great coach, and Quarterback. I love the quarterback. I like his girlfriend, too, his wife. His wife is— his wife is great. She’s been a big fan. The quarterback’s mother is incredible. I like that team. They’re called the chiefs. And frankly, I see nothing wrong with it.

They call them the warriors, and not that team, but a lot of other teams, and all of these Indian surnames and different names, and I’m saying that I think that’s a positive thing. And when you go back to Indians, they polled this. They don’t know why these names are being taken off. They’re trying to— I think it’s degrading to the Indian population, and it’s a great population, and they like when they’re, you know, called by various names. Now, Washington, the Redskins, perhaps that’s a little different, a little bit different, but I can tell you that I spoke to people of Indian heritage that love that name, and they love that team, and I think it’s a much, you know, I think it’s a superior name to what they have right now. And it had heritage behind it. It had something special.

But a lot of the names having to do with, you know, different places, not just Indians, but I think it’s— they changed the name of the Cleveland Indians. Why would you take the name Indians off the Cleveland Indians? And now it’s called the Cleveland something else, right? Guardians, ugh. It just doesn’t make sense to me. So, you know, we’re about bringing common sense back to this country, and it may be popular or unpopular, what I’m saying and I’ve just said to you. See, he’s a nice guy. You got a lot out of me on this one, but I think most people agree with me. I think it really is demeaning to Indians, but to change the name of the Cleveland Indians, as an example, to the Cleveland Guardians is not the same, and I’m sure it has an impact on the team.

Democrat Senator Adam Schiff (CA) is apparently just now realizing that Democrats need to “change how we do business” in liberal areas that are overrun with crime, drugs, and homelessness, citing an encounter with a Target cashier who told him the hard truth about the Democratic party. 

During an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Schiff recalled an incident at a Target in San Francisco after his car was robbed in his home state of California. And it wasn’t getting robbed in the notoriously liberal city.

The Gateway Pundit readers will likely recall that Schiff got robbed in San Francisco last year while campaigning for Senate in the city. The robbers took his luggage, and he was forced to attend a dinner party in a t-shirt and hiking vest instead of the appropriate formal attire.

Following this, he went to buy toiletries at a Target store, he says, and the cashier hit him with a blunt reality check.

The party that locked everyone in their homes during COVID, bullies people into silence, and allows criminals and the dregs of society to terrorize everyday Americans are “assholes,” the woman apparently told him.

” I thought, you know, if the cashier in South San Francisco at 10 o’clock at night believes that Democrats are assholes because the shampoo is locked up, and my stuff got stolen out of the trunk, we’ve got a major problem that we have to address,” he said.

Still, it wasn’t until now, after the Democrats’ massive defeat in the 2024 election, that Schiff seemingly had an epiphany and sounded the alarm to his party.

Schiff: We’re going to have to change how we do business in California. We’re going to have to address people’s legitimate concerns about crime. I was in South San Francisco two years ago after I had experience in the city that all too many people I had when my luggage was stolen out of my car. They tell you, don’t ever leave your luggage in the car. I never do until the one time I did, and of course, it got stolen.

And what was most memorable about the experience for me is I went to this target in South San Francisco, 10 o’clock at night, and I’m getting the toiletries I’m going to need for my next two days in the city. I get to the cashier… First of all, I had to get the clerk, which is hard to find, to unlock a shampoo or the whatever. So that’s one thing. And then I get the cashier.

The cashier asked me if I want one of those Target bags with a little bullseye on it. And I said, “Yes, that target bag is going to be my luggage for the next two days.” And she asked me what happened, and I told her, and she basically said in not so many words, “yeah, Democrats are assholes.”

And I thought, you know, if the cashier in South San Francisco at 10 o’clock at night believes that Democrats are assholes because the shampoo is locked up, and my stuff got stolen out of the trunk, we’ve got a major problem that we have to address.

A federal judge on Friday evening said a 2-year-old American citizen (anchor baby) was deported with her illegal alien mother with “no meaningful process.”

US District Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump appointee in Louisiana, pushed back on DOJ lawyers who argued the child was transported with her mother as a family unit to Honduras.

The mother literally requested that both of her daughters, including the 2-year-old anchor baby referred to as “VML” in court documents, be deported with her, but the judge said there was no meaningful process.

“The Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her,” Doughty wrote, according to NBC News. “But the Court doesn’t know that.”

Does the judge want families separated?

The illegal alien mother was reportedly checking in with an “Intensive Supervision Appearance Program” after being freed from ICE detention in 2021 when she was taken back into custody.

Attorneys for the illegal alien family argued the 2-year-old cannot be deported.

The Trump DOJ produced a letter, written in Spanish from the child’s mother that read, “I will take my daughter with me to Honduras.”

The Trump Administration did not deport the 2-year-old American citizen. Rather, the government was generous enough to pay for the child’s transportation back to Honduras at the legal custodian/mother’s request.

The American citizen is welcome to return to the US at a future date.

A federal judge in Louisiana on Friday said that a 2-year-old U.S. citizen appears to have been deported with her mother to Honduras with no meaningful due process.

In an order scheduling a hearing for next month, U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty wrote that the child was sent to Honduras on Friday with her mother, who had been ordered to be removed.

The Louisiana court called a government lawyer at 12:19 p.m. local time to speak with the child’s mother, while the plane was in the air, and was called back at 1:06 p.m. and told that mother and child were already in Honduras, Doughty wrote.

Doughty wrote that the May 16 hearing was “In the interest of dispelling our strong suspicion that the Government just deported a U.S. citizen with no meaningful process.”

The mother and her two daughters, including the U.S. citizen who is identified as VML in court documents, were seized Tuesday morning in New Orleans by Immigration and Customs Enforcement as the woman went to a scheduled meeting with the agency, lawyers opposing the deportation wrote.

Peace marchers in Munich with German and American flags and MAGA hats

 

As President Trump meets with President Volodymyr Zelensky and other world leaders in Rome to try and end the senseless war in Ukraine, the European peace movement is falling in line behind Trump’s bold leadership – while Antifa street militias protest and call the peace movement “Nazis”.

You get to see a lot of crazy stuff as a Gateway Pundit reporter, but this one really takes the cake.

It’s like the world has turned upside down: At today’s peace rally in Munich, Germany, about 2500 mostly long-haired, hippie-style peaceniks marched in support of US President Donald Trump’s peace efforts, while black-clad “Anti”-Fascist street thugs lined the march, showing the peace march the finger and calling them “Nazis”.

The current German peace movement largely grew out of the anti-Covid lockdown protests 2020 onward, and consists mainly of aging hippie types disappointed in the pro-vax mandate, pro-war Green party which is dwindling to insignificance after its government collapsed one day after Donbald Trump’s election.

These are people you might find at a Grateful Dead revival event in Santa Cruz.

Now, they are wearing MAGA hats and waving American flags!

On a normal day, wearing a MAGA hat in Germany is akin to wearing a klan hood in Harlem.

Not anymore, it seems.

“We really like the energy we see coming out of the USA,” one peace marcher in a MAGA hat told The Gateway Pundit. “We’d like to see some of that energy in Europe as well.”

As the march passed by a taxpayer-funded left-wing “culture center”, a small crowd of black-clad “Anti”-fascist street thugs gathered outside to hurl abuse at the peaceniks, calling them “Nazis” and chanting childish nonsense chants like “Alerta, Alerta, Antifascista.”

We hope one day these deluded young people wake up and realize they have become the pro-war, pro-establishment party.

It has been revealed that the son of Juliane Gallina Gloss, the Biden-appointed CIA Deputy Director for Digital Innovation, was killed while allegedly fighting for Russia on the frontlines in Ukraine.

According to the New York Post, citing an investigation by an independent Russian outlet, iStories, 21-year-old Michael Alexander Gloss, the son of Juliane Gallina Gloss and Navy veteran Larry Gloss, left his American home, crossed into Russia, and joined the Russian military in hopes of gaining citizenship.

According to iStories, “Michael Gloss is one of more than 1,500 foreigners who passed through the Russian military recruitment center during the war in Ukraine, whose identities were established by IStories. In total, mercenaries from 48 countries — including EU states and the U.S. — are fighting on Russia’s side.”

In April, the Gloss family announced with profound sorrow the passing of their beloved son and brother, Michael Alexander Gloss.

“It is with tremendous sorrow, the Gloss family conveys the loss of their beloved son and brother, Michael Alexander Gloss. Michael was born in a rush, on a snowy evening, on December 4, 2002 and lived a brief, but fiercely beautiful life until he was taken from us during his travels overseas. Michael should be remembered for his noble heart, and warrior spirit.

As a boy, Michael was affectionate and curious, with a gift for building and fondness for nature and all its creatures. Given a few minutes and any materials at all, Michael would build a shelter for those around him. He created snow caves, tree and pillow forts, forest shelters and secret lookouts for friends, sisters and dogs. Spending time with Michael was certain to include adventure, motion, invention and laughter.”

His father confirmed his death to The Post and said his son, Michael, suffered from mental illness, which manifested in grandiose ideas about water purification and environmental causes.

“One of the manifestations of his mental illness was grandiosity. He always cared about the environment. He always wanted to take care of those disadvantaged, less able,” Larry Gloss told The Post.

“In Michael’s thinking, which I now conclude largely as a function of some text exchange he’s had with comrades before his demise, he thought the best way of realizing his dreams of water purification would be as a citizen of Russia. And the quickest way to get there, the quickest way to Russian citizenship would be through serving.”

According to iStories, Michael Gloss’s journey from a U.S. Eagle Scout to a Russian mercenary was no accident.

Fueled by the extremist ideologies pumped through today’s far-left academic institutions, radical “climate justice” activism, and anti-American sentiment, Michael’s story reads like a chilling warning of what happens when our youth are indoctrinated instead of educated.

Gloss attended the ultra-left College of the Atlantic in Maine — hailed as “America’s Greenest College” — where activism takes precedence over academics.

There, he joined climate protests that disrupted baseball games and fought against the abortion bans at sporting events. He was even arrested for his antics.

Yet his radicalization didn’t stop there. Gloss openly expressed hatred for the United States, publicly burned the American flag, and mocked American values on social media.

After drifting into far-left activism in college, Michael Gloss fled America. He spent months wandering through Europe and the Middle East, dabbling with fringe groups like the Rainbow Family and immersing himself in anti-American, anti-capitalist ideology.

By his own admission, he “ran away” from the U.S., which he called a country of “financial warfare” and “institutional violence.”

Michael wrote in one of the Telegram chats obtained by iStories:

“You can’t not witness war. There are too many types of violence that war has spread to now. Financial violence, institutional, emotional, and of course physical.

My point being America teaches financial warfare in the army now.

The modern soldier is a business person.

The racist people in America don’t want to invade turkey with an army and navy.. they want to bleed the economy and enslave the Turkish people (really they want to enslave everyone wit darker skin) into wage slavery to be working poor.

This is the modern way of warfare. And you cannot deny that we are already surrounded by this.

The upside is that the western FIAT based monetary system is failing because it was built stupidly. While China and Brics are leading the way with innovating markets through gold and other commodity reserves.

This spirit of being a nation for all nations that you see in turkey there is a word for it in English.

Intersectionality. To have solidarity intersectionally with oppressed peoples and nations is the essence of socialism and communism.

The world is uniting around these principles by opposing the nato western hegemony. South America and Africa are already wholly Chinese owned. The world by population is anti western alliance.

In 2023, after failed attempts to live in ecovillages and post-disaster zones like Hatay, Turkey, Gloss decided to head toward Russia — a country he saw as a bulwark against Western “imperialism,” according to iStories.

He entered through the Georgia-Russia border and traveled across cities like Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, and Moscow, living hand-to-mouth, even resorting to theft to survive.

In Moscow, facing visa expiration and dwindling resources, Gloss made the fateful decision to enlist in the Russian Defense Ministry’s foreign recruitment program.

He signed official paperwork at a Moscow military enlistment office on Yablochkova Street and began training at the Avangard center outside the capital — joining a group largely composed of Nepalese and Chinese recruits.

Under the alias “Hamza Ali,” Gloss shaved his head, donned a red keffiyeh, and trained for combat.

Despite his fragile physical appearance and limited Russian language skills, Gloss managed to complete his basic training and was shipped off to join the 137th Guards Airborne Regiment in Ryazan — a prestigious Russian airborne unit. According to fellow soldiers, Gloss maintained an almost messianic belief that his service would help him achieve a “greater ecological mission” — even as he prepared for the brutality of the battlefield.

In December 2023, Gloss left one of his final voice messages for old acquaintances:

“Hey fam, I’m in Russia. Yeah, I’m working here. I’m trying to get a passport and money, you know, so I can travel across Africa because I also like the warm weather. It’s like negative 10 here. It’s crazy. There’s so much snow. It’s, like, as tall as I am. But yeah, things are good. Despite the cold and the fact that I don’t see the sun for like a month. but it’s fun. I have lots of friends that I’m learning Russian things are good.”

By early 2024, he was deployed to the frontlines in the Donetsk Oblast, where Russian forces were engaged in fierce trench warfare.

On April 4, 2024, Michael Gloss was killed during an offensive operation near Rozdolivka and Vesele, Ukraine — his idealistic “hero’s journey” ending not in triumph, but in tragedy.

Four people are dead and over 500 are injured after a huge explosion at the Port of Bandar Abbas in southwest Iran.

The Iranian government has speculated that the massive explosion was due to chemicals being stored.

4 DEAD, OVER 500 INJURED AFTER EXPLOSION AT IRAN’S BANDAR ABBAS PORT

CNN reports:

The explosion sent a huge plume of thick, gray smoke from the Shahid Rajaee part of the port complex, according to videos geolocated by CNN, with the government saying the blast was likely linked to chemicals being stored.

The head of the Iranian emergency services said four people had died in the blast. A spokesperson for the emergency services earlier said 516 had been injured.

A video distributed by the Mehr news agency showed surveillance footage of the moment of the explosion, which appears to have occurred in a warehouse at the port. Other footage showed helicopters dropping water at the site of the fire ignited by the explosion.

Debris was spread over a wide area and many buildings at the port complex were badly damaged, according to state media. Windows within a radius of several kilometers were shattered, they said.

There were also reports that additional people may be stuck in the rubble.

Maritime operations have been suspended while the port is closed.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered an investigation into the blast.

Texas DPS pursue human smuggler. Posted 4/22/25. Footage from 4/17/25

The border is secure under President Trump, but four years of crooked Joe Biden is still evident in the number of illegals and human smugglers in the United States.

Texas DPS pursued a smuggler of illegal aliens in Webb County on a high-speed chase that resulted in a crash.

The human smuggler, Carlos Alejandro Hernandez Briones, was driving a red Chevrolet Tahoe and refused to stop for DPS troopers. After crashing the vehicle, Briones, along with two illegal aliens jumped into the Rio Grande to swim to Mexico. The two illegals made it successfully while Briones was not able to make it. The troopers tossed him a rescue line to prevent him from drowning.

Briones was charged with human smuggling, reckless driving and evading arrest. Troopers found five illegal aliens in the vehicle and handed them over to the Border Patrol.

Texas DPS regularly deals with situations like these. TGP reported earlier this month of another high-speed chase of a smuggler of an illegal alien that resulted in a crash.

Texas has led the way in pursuing illegal aliens and securing their State even during the hostile Biden regime’s efforts to stop them. Operation Lone Star was launched in 2021 by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in an effort to stop deadly drugs like fentanyl from entering the US. In addition, the operation included efforts to deter illegal immigration with the support of Texas DPS and the Texas National Guard.

Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution clearly states the US Government’s responsibility to protect the nation from an invasion. It was intentionally ignored for four years under the Biden regime. President Trump has stopped the invasion with illegal crossings down to a minimal amount.

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.” Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution.

The rule of law is back.

President Trump on Saturday, following his meeting in Rome with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, issued a scathing response to far-left New York Times author Peter Liddle, who wrote a piece attacking Trump and inferring that he’s shilling for Putin. 

Trump also threatened Russian President Vladimir Putin with sanctions over a recent missile strike, which he has already rebuked Putin for. The President reiterated his criticisms, stating, “There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days. It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through ‘Banking’ or ‘Secondary Sanctions?’”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump met with Zelensky this morning in Vatican City as the two attended the Pope’s funeral. Zelensky also signaled in an X post that “Reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out” is on the horizon.

Upon landing in Rome on Friday evening, the President shared that “major” terms have been agreed to, and the two countries are “very close to a deal.”

However, Peter Baker attacked Trump in an article on Saturday morning, accusing Trump of giving Putin everything he wants while stiffing Ukraine after the United States gave hundreds of billions of dollars to the country.

At the center of the attacks was the issue of Crimea, a formerly Ukrainian territory that was given to Russia during the Obama Administration. Now, Zelensky wants the area back, recently declaring that Ukraine will not recognize Russia’s occupation of Crimea. President Trump slammed Zelensky over these demands on Wednesday morning, saying they’re “very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia” and noting that “Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama.”

In an interview with Time Magazine, released Friday, Trump reportedly said, “Crimea will stay with Russia,” as he seeks to bring peace in the region.

Because of this, leftists like “Liddle’ Peter Baker” are outraged and accusing Trump of acting on Russia’s behalf. As Trump noted in a blistering Truth Social post, Baker has never criticized Obama for allowing Russia to take Crimea over in the first place, but now blames Trump.

“I’ve had nothing to do with this stupid war, other than early on, when I gave Ukraine Javelins, and Obama gave them sheets,” the President said. “This is Sleepy Joe Biden’s War, not mine. It was a loser from day one, and should have never happened, and wouldn’t have happened if I were President at the time. I’m just trying to clean up the mess that was left to me by Obama and Biden, and what a mess it is.”

No matter what deal I make with respect to Russia/Ukraine, no matter how good it is, even if it’s the greatest deal ever made, The Failing New York Times will speak BADLY of it. Liddle’ Peter Baker, the very biased and untalented writer for The Times, followed his Editor’s demands and wrote that Ukraine should get back territory, including, I suppose, Crimea, and other ridiculous requests, in order to stop the killing that is worse than anything since World War II. Why doesn’t this lightweight reporter say that it was Obama who made it possible for Russia to steal Crimea from Ukraine without even a shot being fired.

It was also Liddle’ Peter who wrote an absolutely fawning, yet terribly written Biography, on Obama. It was a JOKE! Did Baker ever criticize the Obama Crimea Giveaway? Luigi Mangione has pleaded “not guilty” to federal charges related to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Mangione is facing both federal and state charges. The federal charges include murder through the use of a firearm, two counts of stalking, and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime.

The 26-year-old from Maryland is facing the death penalty if convicted on the federal murder charge.

On Friday, Mangione entered his not guilty plea before Judge Margaret Garnett. His lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, also asked that the federal case take priority over the state charges and that she not seek the death penalty.

Mangione is accused of fatally shooting Thompson in cold blood on the streets of New York City in December, allegedly driven by frustration with the U.S. healthcare system. The murder was captured on security footage.

A handwritten letter found on Mangione at the time of his arrest labeled insurance companies “parasitic” and decried corporate greed, sentiments echoed by bullet casings at the crime scene inscribed with “DENY,” “DEPOSE,” and “DELAY”—terms often linked to insurance claim denials.

In a statement about the case, Bondi said, “Luigi Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America.”

“After careful consideration, I have directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in this case as we carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again,” Bondi continued.

The political nature of the shooting and widespread frustration with insurance companies have catapulted Mangione into a sort of folk hero status among leftists.

Mangione has pleaded not guilty to the 11 state charges, which also include murder.

The next federal court date is December 5, 2025. The trial will likely begin in 2026.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier this month, a proposed ballot initiative named the “Luigi Mangione Access to Health Care Act” has been submitted to the California Attorney General’s Office in honor of the accused murderer.

The proposal would amend the state’s Health and Safety Code to curb insurers’ ability to deny or delay medical treatments recommended by physicians.

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin has received the relevant report from top General Valery Gerasimov.

Gerasimov said that Kiev’s plans to disrupt the Donbass offensive have failed, and their attempted bridgehead in the Kursk region has collapsed.

Mop-up operations are underway to identify Ukrainian soldiers attempting to hide, while the work to create a security zone in the bordering Sumy region continues, with four settlements conquered and more than 90 square kilometers under control.
