Just days before Portugal’s legislative elections, André Ventura, the leader of the conservative Chega party, collapsed during a campaign speech on Tuesday evening.

At around 9:10 pm local time in Tavira, southern Portugal, 42-year-old André Ventura abruptly froze mid-speech, clutching his chest and neck before members of his party rushed to escort him off stage, as captured in footage aired by RTP3, according to Bloomberg.

Emergency services promptly transported Ventura to the Faro Hospital, where he is currently under medical observation. 

Portugal’s acting Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro wrote on X, “I was informed that @AndreCVentura became ill at a party event. From the dinner rally that I am attending in Caldas da Rainha, I send my best wishes for a speedy recovery, hoping that it is nothing serious.”

Pedro Pinto, a parliamentary leader within Chega, later confirmed that Ventura was conscious and undergoing medical evaluation.

“Our leader had a problem that we still can’t evaluate,” Pedro Pinto said, adding, “But he is well and has spoken to us.”

The Algarve hospital has already confirmed that the Chega leader is out of danger and that his health condition does not require much concern. Ventura will repeat the tests this Wednesday and will be discharged if everything is normal.

The INEM doctor who assisted André Ventura during the ambulance trip between Tavira and Faro Hospital told journalists that “everything is fine” with the Chega president.

“Everything is fine with him at the moment”, said the doctor, adding that “everything went well” and that the emergency team’s response was “very quick and very good”.

Pedro Pinto, leader of the Chega party, spoke to those present at the dinner-rally after André Ventura was taken to the hospital: “Don’t worry, we will win the elections on May 18th”.

“On the advice of the doctors, he went to the hospital for some evaluations and everything will go well”, he said, adding that at the leader’s request the meeting should continue. “We will continue with this dinner (…) we will continue to fight for this country, for this party”, concluded the party leader, asking for a round of applause for André Ventura.

In the wake of the incident, far-left protesters have gathered outside the hospital, singing for Ventura to die.

Over the past months, I have written extensively about how the media misled people about the Kilmar Abrego Garcia deportation case, which they twisted in such a fashion as to make people believe Trump had plucked a U.S. citizen off the street and deported him to El Salvador for no reason, and that a hat had been used as evidence of Garcia’s MS-13 gang affiliation.

The truth is, Garcia did not have a legal right to remain in the U.S.; the only error was that he was under an order specifically prohibiting deportation to El Salvador, but which did not prevent his deportation elsewhere.

And now, I’ve uncovered the real reason why a hat was submitted as evidence of his MS-13 affiliation.

In the Abrego Garcia case, law enforcement cited his Chicago Bulls hat as a clear indicator of MS-13 membership.

According to reports, in the specific neighborhood where Garcia lived, the Bulls logo was commonly used by MS-13 members as a localized gang identifier.

Officers stated that MS-13 members wore this specific team gear in that area, making it part of the gang’s regional dress code.

This wasn’t arbitrary. In some urban areas, specific sports logos, like those of the Bulls, Raiders, or Dodgers, are co-opted by gangs as visual markers of membership or allegiance.

Despite this, two judges later dismissed the hat as primary evidence, likely because clothing alone does not meet the legal threshold for proving gang membership.

However, they still found that other evidence was sufficient to conclude that Garcia was affiliated with MS-13.

Beyond this, the media also tried to make you believe he was a U.S. citizen or a green card holder. He was neither. He had entered the country illegally.

The only reason he was allowed to remain in the U.S. at all was because a judge accepted his claim that he would be in danger if returned to El Salvador.

He had also been in trouble with the police at least twice for beating his wife and children.

Garcia is an El Salvadoran citizen who was deported to El Salvador. The only error the administration made was sending him there directly, rather than to a third country.

President Trump asked El Salvadoran President Bukele to send him back, and Bukele refused. If Bukele does eventually send him back, Garcia still has no legal residence in the U.S. and will be deported again, this time to a third country willing to accept deported gang members.

Right now, the countries that have signaled their willingness to accept deported criminals are: El Salvador, Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil, China, Colombia, Honduras, India, Angola, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Libya, Moldova, and Rwanda.

Recently, there have been numerous instances of the media distorting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE-related stories by omitting key facts.

One such case involves Ximena Arias-Cristobal, who was pulled over in Dalton, Georgia, for a traffic violation, initially reported as failure to signal.

During the stop, police discovered she was driving without a license. That offense, driving without a license, was the basis for her arrest, not the traffic stop itself.

In that jurisdiction, as part of routine booking procedures, local authorities check immigration status. It was at that point that she was found to be in the U.S. illegally.

The media’s framing of this case often omitted or downplayed these key facts. Some reports suggested she was “wrongfully pulled over” or portrayed her as a victim of mistaken identity, but the intent of the stop is irrelevant to her immigration status.

Law enforcement does not need a warrant to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, and her arrest was lawful based on her lack of a driver’s license.

The subsequent ICE detention followed standard procedure for an undocumented individual with a law enforcement record.

One of the most blatantly dishonest narratives pushed by the media involved the supposed deportation of a 2-year-old U.S. citizen to Honduras.

Headlines and reports implied that the U.S. government deported a citizen child, but that is categorically false.

What actually happened is that the child’s mother, an illegal alien and her legal guardian, was deported, and she chose to bring her daughter with her.

The government did not deport the child; it deported the mother, who exercised her legal right to keep her child in her custody.

While a federal judge later expressed “strong suspicion” that a U.S. citizen had been deported “with no meaningful process,” that suspicion was mistaken.

The child’s removal was not a deportation, neither was it a government action, it was a parental decision. Still, the media ran with the story, deliberately omitting the legal context and using it to paint ICE and the Trump administration as lawless.

Once again, the public was misled by selective reporting and emotional manipulation rather than the facts.

The mainstream media are consistently twisting the facts and crafting headlines designed to spark outrage over the arrest and deportation of illegal aliens, even those who have committed crimes.

My promise to Gateway Pundit readers is that I will continue to investigate and uncover the truth behind the lies. Additionally, I urge any Gateway Pundit reader who comes across a suspicious headline to send me a message, and I will investigate and respond in a follow-up article.

A Soros-backed Arapahoe County, Colorado, prosecutor gave probation and community service to an unlicensed illegal alien who killed a young woman in a car crash last July.

Kaitlyn Weaver was only 24 years old when a 15-year-old illegal alien driving 90 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone crashed into her vehicle and killed her instantly.

“The DA’s office said this would be a ‘no plea deal’ case, so they were not going to offer anything; any concession,” Kaitlyn’s father, John Weaver told CBS Colorado.

The illegal alien’s mother wasn’t even charged because she claimed that her son took the Jeep without her permission.

However, that abruptly changed after Soros-backed DA Amy Padden was sworn into office this year.

Amy Padden’s office offered the unlicensed illegal alien two years’ probation and community service if he pleaded guilty.

The Weaver family is devastated by the DA’s decision to give probation and community service to the illegal who killed their daughter and left them with more than $1 million in medical bills.

“Immigration and the criminal justice system and all these things landed together one day in Aurora and now I sit here today without a daughter,” the distraught father John Weaver told CBS News.

The Arapahoe District Attorney’s Office is defending its decision to give probation and community service to a teenager who was driving illegally and, in the country illegally, when he killed a woman.

The accident happened last July in Aurora. The victim, Kaitlyn Weaver, was headed home from work when a Jeep, barreling through a residential neighborhood, slammed into her car. The speed limit in the area was 45 mph. Investigators say the driver was doing more than 90 mph.

“She didn’t even see him coming,” her dad, John Weaver, said. “That’s how fast he was going. She was effectively killed instantly.”

He says he and his wife Michelle removed their daughter from life support 2 days later, “How do you fathom that loss?”

Weaver says his daughter was a born caregiver and volunteered for a suicide hotline before taking a job at a drug rehab center in Aurora, “She was really trying to make a difference in their lives every day.”

She was 24 years old. The suspect was 15 years old and had other kids in the car with him. He was charged with vehicular homicide. Due to his age, state law shields him from being publicly identified in court records.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to testify in a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions hearing today at 1:30 pm ET.

His testimony will focus on the White House’s budget request in the Big Beautiful Bill, which includes $500 million to complete his MAHA objectives.

Earlier on Wednesday, Kennedy testified on the budget requests before the House Appropriations Committee.

Kennedy will make his first appearance as health secretary before Cassidy’s powerful Senate health committee on Wednesday, when he’s expected to face intense scrutiny about the thousands of job he’s eliminated at the Department of Health and Human Services, the steep cuts he’s made to vaccination campaigns and his response to a measles outbreak that’s sickened 1,000 people.

He will speak about the agency’s budget request for the year, which includes a $500 million boost for his “Make America Healthy Again” initiative to promote nutrition and healthier lifestyles. The proposed budget also makes deep cuts, including to infectious disease prevention, maternal health and preschool programs.

The secretary plans to “share his vision on how HHS’ transformation will improve health outcomes, eliminate redundancies to save the American taxpayer, and streamline operations to improve efficiency and service,” HHS said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Kennedy’s supporters, meanwhile, have viewed his first three months in the job as a successful delivery of “MAHA” agenda items: He’s pressured food companies to ditch artificial dyes, promised to study the cause of autism, vowed to reverse fluoride recommendations and earned buy-in from several Republican governors to ban soda from the food stamp program, for example.

President Donald Trump met briefly Wednesday with the interim president of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa. The meeting follows Trump’s announcement in a speech Tuesday that the U.S. will lift sanctions on Syria, originally imposed to pressure the government of Bashar al-Assad.

Trump complimented Shara’a, saying that he is a “young, attractive guy—tough guy” who has a good chance at stabilizing the war-torn country. Trump also asked Sharaa to sign the Abraham Accords to normalize Syria’s relationship with Israel, deport terrorists living in the country, and cooperate with regional efforts against ISIS, according to a post on social media by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. In return, Sharaa invited American companies to invest in Syrian oil and gas resources.

The meeting is a major coup for Sharaa, who is working to rebuild Syria after his Turkish-backed militant force, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, toppled the government of Bashar al-Assad and ended the Syrian Civil War. Sharaa has been viewed with some skepticism by many in the West for his previous connections to Al Qaeda, but has pledged to respect the rights of ethnic and religious minorities and establish a peaceful, democratic government.

I’ve received many inquiries about the status of the One Big, Beautiful Bill—accompanied by the question, “How is reconciliation going?”

Rather than delving into the details of reconciliation, a complicated tool that allows the House and Senate to write separate instructions to craft a final budget bill—let me break it down the way real Americans would: by looking at the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

The Good: Cutting Taxes

The Trump Tax Cuts included in the bill will make permanent the largest tax cut in American history for middle and working-class Americans.

The significance of getting these signed into law cannot be overstated.

Codifying and delivering this top campaign promise of President Trump will put an extra $5,000 in the pockets of hardworking Americans, will deliver relief for small businesses, families, farmers, and seniors, and will incentivize Made in America investments. Once the Trump Tax Cuts are signed into law, the American economy will soar like we’ve never seen.

The Bad: Medicaid Work Requirements Delayed, Xbox Welfare Lives On

If there’s one thing American workers and President Trump despise—it’s being ripped off. Obamacare, President Barack Obama’s most expansive program, has been ripping off the American taxpayer for years on end through its drastic expansion of Medicaid.

Instead of prioritizing pregnant women, children, and individuals with disabilities, this program has been co-opted by able-bodied adults.

The federal government currently covers 90% of healthcare costs for able-bodied men, who should be in the workforce, but only 50% to 77% for pregnant women. It’s outrageous.

Congress’s current reconciliation bill does include new work requirements for able-bodied adults, but in Washington, you’ve got to read the fine print. Instead of taking transformative action today, the House has punted the implementation of work requirements to 2029—giving our able-bodied video gamers four more years of free healthcare and time on the couch.

The Ugly: Savings Left on the Table

Right now, Congress is agonizing over $1.2 trillion in net spending reductions, which is a measly number considering we are $36 trillion in debt today.

DOGE has done a fantastic job uncovering egregious government waste, fraud, and abuse in federal agencies, and Congress should be just as eager to rake in the low hanging fruit to save trillions of dollars.

Today, through the reconciliation process, Congress has a historic opportunity to deliver major victories for the American people.

Regarding reconciliation, my message to my colleagues is simple: don’t leave easy wins on the table.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said the three New Jersey Democrats who stormed the ICE facility in Newark last Friday may face disciplinary action.

Speaker Johnson said the members of Congress who assaulted ICE agents at the Delaney Hall center may face expulsion from Congress.

“Look, there’s three possible disciplinary actions that Congress – that the House can take. You can censure a member and that probably does seem appropriate here. You can kick them off committees… that’s a new tradition adopted by the Democrats or you can expel someone from Congress,” Johnson said.

Speaker Johnson pointed out that expulsion will be a challenge since it requires a two-thirds vote.

“We are looking at what is appropriate,” Johnson said. “I think it’s pretty clear that the law was violated.”

Democrat Reps. LaMonica McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez were involved in the violent altercation at the ICE detention facility last week.

ICE bodycam footage showed Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver verbally abusing and physically assaulting federal agents at a detention facility in Newark.

On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced via Truth Social his intention to sign an executive order aimed at reducing prescription drug prices in the United States by 30% to 80%.

He described this initiative as “one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history.”

The executive order, signed on Monday, implements a “Most Favored Nation” (MFN) pricing policy. This policy mandates that the United States will pay the same price for prescription drugs as the country that pays the lowest price globally.

Even some Democrats, such as Rep. Ro Khanna of California, have expressed approval for Trump’s plan. Khanna posted on X that he would introduce the executive order as written to become legislation and asked for Republican co-sponsors.

On Wednesday, Khanna introduced legislation to codify President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at slashing prescription drug prices.

Where is the GOP? Where are the so-called “leaders” who claim to fight for the American people? Americans overwhelmingly voted for President Donald Trump and his agenda.

Unfortunately, this means nothing to the US GOP-controlled House and US GOP-controlled Senate.

According to political commentator Amuse, the current GOP-controlled Congress sent fewer bills to President Trump to sign into law than any Congress in 70 years.

Meanwhile, RINO Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) have signaled opposition to Trump’s bold new plan to slash sky-high prescription drug prices during a Senate hearing on Pharmacy Benefit Managers and Drug Pricing.

One of the most embarrassing members of Congress got completely schooled by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after she tried to blame him for the spread of measles across the country.

As TGP readers know, the corporate media has trumpeted the number of measles cases spreading across America to smear the Trump Administration, particularly RFK Jr.

These hacks see the rise of this infamous childhood disease as an opportunity to discredit the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) agenda and create a new so-called scandal within the Trump Administration.

There are currently about 1,100 cases of the highly contagious disease in America, mostly from unvaccinated individuals who likely arrived in America illegally. But purple-haired Rep. Rosa DeLauro took the opportunity to smear RFK Jr. during a hearing before the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee’s health subcommittee.

“Measles, a disease eliminated in the United States just decades ago, has now claimed the lives of three Americans, including two children who died needlessly, and over 1,000 are confirmed to have contracted the disease,” said DeLauro in a transcript obtained by Reuters.

“All while you peddle unfounded and dangerous vaccine skepticism, spread lies and misinformation about people living with autism,” she added.

This is a lie, of course. RFK, Jr. has indeed told Americans that they should vaccinate their children against the measles and has long said he is okay with vaccines in general as long as they are safe.

The HHS Secretary was rightfully angry over the disgusting smear blaming him for the outbreak, when he has no control over (the states largely manage childhood vaccinations). Moreover, DeLauro left out a series of inconvenient truths, which RFK Jr. was more than happy to share.

“Let me address your first issue because I want to correct you. We have about 1,100 measles cases in this country,” RFK Jr. began. The growth rate last year was 15 additional, so we have plateaued.”

RFK Jr. then dropped some more damning facts that may surprise Americans. Europe and Canada have far more cases of measles, while Mexico has fewer than the United States.

Moreover, cases in Mexico are rising fairly rapidly.

“Mexico has roughly the same number (of cases) with a third of our population, and they got 300 extra cases last week,” RFK Jr. explained. “Canada has more measles, 1,500. They have one eighth of our population.”

“Western Europe has about 6,000 cases, which is 10 times the number that we have. You are wrong about what you said earlier.”

New York Attorney General Leticia James was alerted of a conspiracy to suppress life-saving pharmaceutical drugs in 2019, but chose to ignore credible whistleblower warnings in favor of building her lawfare case for Donald Trump.

Whistleblower Patrick Girondi has been fighting for decades on a cure for beta thalassemia, a disease negatively affecting the production of hemoglobin in the afflicted, after the disease was discovered in his two-year-old son, Rocco.

Girondi was an early investor in gene therapy, coming up with a treatment for beta thalassemia as well as sickle-cell anemia, a similar disease that is prevalent among black people.

James looked the other way after she was presented with the evidence by Girondi, preferring to use her resources to build a bogus case against President Trump instead of using her authority to clamp down on corporate corruption that is keeping life-saving drugs out of the hands of black people across New York.

THE BACKSTORY

Girondi’s quest began after his son Rocco was diagnosed with beta thalassemia and not expected to live past the age of 14.

Presently, Rocco is forced to get blood transfusions every 18 days and takes 10 pills each day to prevent toxic iron from building up in his blood and organs as the potential cure is suppressed from him and the public.

After his son’s diagnosis, Girondi became an unlikely pioneer in the controversial field of gene therapy, which was looked at as “science fiction” in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Girondi made stunning progress in the field, and he eventually caught the eyes of the corporate giants as he hoped to mainstream his work.

He was locked into a long legal battle with the gene-therapy firm Bluebird Bio and the Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI), the research facility connected to the renowned cancer treatment center.

Girondi’s firm, Errant Gene Therapeutics, alleged in court documents that they were coerced by SKI into divulging details on a potentially groundbreaking treatment.

Girondi gave an important vector to SKI in 2010 under false pretenses, believing that it would help move the treatment forward to clinical trials.

The SKI then buried his treatment in favor of Bluebird Bio’s more expensive treatment.

Girondi believes the problems began in 2010 when a new President and CEO of Sloan Kettering with a financial conflict of interest rose to the position.

Dr. Craig B. Thompson served as the President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center from 2010 to 2022. Dr. Thompson has deep ties to Third Rock Ventures, the venture capital fund responsible for financing Bluebird.

Court proceedings have repeatedly vindicated Girondi, who was cynically discredited and painted as insane by corporate insiders.

Bluebird admitted in a Nov. 2010 presentation that one of the positives of partnering with SKI is that the deal “eliminates the most threatening competitor.”

Another email disclosed to the public talked about the “need to shut…down” Girondi.

Greed is the obvious factor behind suppressing this treatment. Bluebird Bio was able to raise the treatment price to $3.1 million per patient from $750,000-$800,000 offered by Girondi’s firm.

Because Girondi’s therapy was suppressed, they are able to rake in countless more billions worth of profits for their shareholders at the direct expense of patients who are squeezed and forced to suffer and die if they cannot bear the immense cost.

Girondi describes the corporate CEOs who he has dealt with as “criminal insider traders.” His tale is all too familiar in the era of corporate capture of regulatory firms.

Countless byzantine regulations mandated by the federal government serve as a legal labyrinth to stifle innovation, crush the individual and maximize Big Pharma’s profit margins with the court system offering little recourse for those victimized.

“As a whole, [the pharmaceutical industry] is a criminal organization. Why do you think everyone wants to have transgenders? Well, because the poor people have to do hormones that cost anywhere between $3,500 and $10,000 per month. Big Pharma is pushing that,” Girondi said.

LETICIA JAMES’ FAILURE

This is the health regime that has resulted in millions lionizing Luigi Mangione, the alleged assassin accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a New York City street corner.

When Girondi approached Leticia James with evidence of this corruption, she had a chance to demonstrate through her actions that black lives matter, standing up to corporate corruption as black lives hung in the balance.

“In 2019, I go to Leticia James. I say, ‘Hey, you got criminals over here.’ I got all the proof, here’s all the proof. Please, they’re costing the lives of sickle cell disease patients. You got to go after them,” Girondi said.

“I am having so many meetings with Leticia James’ office…They keep telling me they don’t have resources…The neediest black lives are Sickle Cell disease patients. You want to forget about going after Trump and let’s go after these bad guys?” Girondi continued.

Leticia James was too enamored with her political agenda, believing that she would be the one who would bring down Donald J. Trump and build her career from that.

Unfortunately for her ambitions, James’ attacks on Trump were so overreaching, low IQ and absurd that they alerted many more people to the scope of the lawfare being pursued against Trump, only enhancing his credibility among the electorate and leading to his political comeback in 2024.

James lost her chance to be a crusader for the little guy and help black people by pursuing the corporate corruption case against Girondi. Now, she faces potential jail time and will be remembered as one of the most corrupt elected officials in American history.

Meanwhile, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has pledged to make gene therapy for sickle cell disease a top priority for his office. The Trump administration has a chance to make right what Leticia James helped make wrong.
