‘Go Home and Tell Mom and Dad to Vote YES’: Fairfax County Teachers Busted Turning Students into Democrat Activists to Push Radical Redistricting Gerrymander ‘To Stop Trump at All Costs’

At least two different Fairfax civics teachers instructed their students to go home and pressure their parents to vote YES on the Democrat-backed constitutional amendment that would allow the General Assembly to scrap Virginia’s current fair congressional maps and impose a heavily gerrymandered 10 Democrat-to-1 Republican map.

Kelly Sadler, who also served as a Special Assistant to President Donald Trump, wrote a column exposing a shocking incident she says occurred when she picked up her sons from school.

Sadler wrote:

On Friday, I picked up my 14-year-old twin boys from school, and both jumped into the car and asked whether I was voting yes on Virginia’s redistricting measure Tuesday.

“That’s a no,” I said flatly to the proposed map, which would create a 10-1 Democratic congressional delegation in a state Kamala Harris won by only 5 percentage points. However, my boys know exactly how I feel about this shameless power play by the liberals in Richmond, so why did they ask?

Turns out, in both of their civics classes that day, taught by two different teachers in Fairfax County Public Schools, they were urged to go home and persuade their parents to vote yes on the measure to make Virginia’s maps “as fair as they can be,” to “stop Donald Trump at all costs.” They used the same talking points being spewed by endless Democratic campaigns in the commonwealth to make Virginia come under one-party Democratic rule.

The ballot question asked voters, “Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”

Virginia currently holds a balanced six-Democrat-to-five-Republican congressional delegation under maps widely praised as among the fairest in the country.

The Democrat-controlled legislature’s proposed replacement map would pack Republican voters into a single ultra-safe district while carving up the rest to create 10 safe Democratic seats, handing Democrats a net gain of four U.S. House seats heading into the 2026 midterms.

Despite strong opposition and warnings from Republicans, the amendment passed narrowly on Tuesday, with approximately 51.45% voting Yes and 48.55% voting No.

Fairfax County, a deep-blue Northern Virginia stronghold, voted overwhelmingly in favor (roughly 71% Yes), helping hand Democrats the decisive margin.

RFK Jr. Torches Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren During Hearing on TrumpRx Drug Price Cuts (VIDEO)

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks passionately during a congressional hearing, with coffee cups in front and attendees listening intently in the background.

HHS Secretary RFK Jr. appeared on Capitol Hill for two hearings on Wednesday.

RFK Jr. first testified before the Senate Finance Committee on his agency’s budget and the deals that the Trump Administration struck with drug companies to lower prices.

Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren tried to go after RFK Jr. over TrumpRx’s price cuts, but he shut her down.

In February, President Trump launched ‘TrumpRx’ to lower drug prices.

“Today, President Donald J. Trump announced the launch of TrumpRx.gov. Through the website, patients will be able to access large discounts on many of the most popular and highest-priced medicines in the country, paying prices in line with the lowest paid by other developed nations (known as the most-favored-nation, or MFN, price),” the White House announced in February.

“Today’s launch features drugs made by the first five manufacturers to reach MFN pricing deals with the Trump Administration: AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer,” the White House said.

“Additional drugs from other companies that have signed MFN pricing deals will be made available through TrumpRx.gov in the coming months,” they said.

TrumpRx lowers prices for popular weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy, inhalers, fertility drugs, and insulin.

Elizabeth Warren, a corrupt and worthless Democrat who has spent decades enriching herself by lying about being a Native American, tried to come at RFK Jr. about TrumpRx.

“If these pharma deals are so good, show them!” Warren said to RFK Jr.

“You had the power to make this deal yourself! Why didn’t you do that? We did this because you refuse to do it!” RFK Jr. said.

“You have a lot more power to negotiate than we do! We got the lowest prices in history,” he said.

Elizabeth Warren hit back and claimed TrumpRx is making things worse for the American people.

“Millions of people who are using Trump Rx disagree with you!” RFK Jr. said.

Marine Corps Upgrades Valor Awards for Company G, 2/1 Marines Who Held Abbey Gate During Biden’s Failed Afghanistan Withdrawal

Joe Biden checks his watch as the bodies of servicemen return home.

In May 2025, The Gateway Pundit reported that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced a full investigation into Biden’s failed 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

On August 26, 2021, the Biden Administration led a withdrawal from the country, where they allowed hundreds of ISIS militants to surround Kabul airport. Suicide bombings were reported amid the chaos as Afghans attempted to enter the airport and flee the Taliban, leading to the death of 13 U.S. service members and 170 civilians.

The Biden Administration left the country in the hands of the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, ISIS-K, and the Al-Qanni terrorists, including $85 billion worth of U.S. military equipment and Black Hawk Helicopters.

Additionally, The Gateway Pundit readers recall that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley, and CentCom Commander General Kenneth McKenzie all knew about the Kabul Airport terrorist bombing at the Abbey Gate hours in advance.

American heroes confirmed to The Gateway Pundit that although U.S. brass knew the suicide bomber was in the area of the Airport, military brass would not let them take him out.

As the Afghanistan Withdrawal Special Review Panel continues to review the circumstances around the catastrophic failure, Chief Pentagon Spokesman and Senior Advisor to the Department of War Sean Parnell announced that the valor awards for the Marines of Company G, 2d Battalion, 1st Marines, who stood at Abbey Gate, have been upgraded.

Parnell shared, “Following the Afghanistan Withdrawal Special Review Panel’s recommendation and at the direction of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, the United States Marine Corps has upgraded the valor awards for the Marines of Company G, 2d Battalion, 1st Marines, who stood at Abbey Gate on 26 August 2021. After reviewing the original awards and determining that several had been inappropriately downgraded, these awards have now been upgraded to levels that more accurately reflect the extreme risk these Marines knowingly accepted and the lives they saved under direct enemy fire.”

“The Marines at Abbey Gate were positioned in the direct blast zone with minimal cover, fully aware of an imminent suicide attack, yet they held their ground to keep evacuation operations running. Their actions that day were heroic. The original awards did not reflect that reality. Today’s upgrades correct that injustice.”

“This outcome would not have happened without the personal leadership and commitment of Under Secretary of War for Personnel & Readiness Anthony Tata and Senior Advisor Stu Scheller who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure these Marines receive the recognition they deserve. Mr. Scheller personally shepherded this effort, driving the process forward until justice was done.

This outcome also demonstrates what the Afghanistan Withdrawal Special Review Panel was created to do: examine the full record, identify where the system failed our warfighters, and ensure accountability and fairness. The Department of War, under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, is committed to getting this right. We will not allow valor performed at the point of friction to be diminished by bureaucratic or administrative shortcomings.”

“To the Marines of Company G and to every service member who stood at Abbey Gate: your actions were seen, your sacrifice was measured correctly, and your valor is now properly recognized.”

“The Panel will continue its broader work to ensure the lessons from 2021 are learned and that we never again place our warfighters in positions where their courage is not fully honored.”

“We owe the American people, the families of the fallen, and every service member who served in Afghanistan nothing less than the truth and the corrections that truth demands.”

The attack left 13 U.S. service members dead:

  • Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts
  • Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California
  • Staff Sgt. Darin T. Hoover, 31, of Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Cpl. Hunter Lopez, 22, of Indio, California
  • Cpl. Daegan W. Page, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska
  • Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez, 22, of Logansport, Indiana
  • Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza, 20, of Rio Bravo, Texas
  • Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz, 20, of St. Charles, Missouri
  • Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum, 20, of Jackson, Wyoming
  • Lance Cpl. Dylan R. Merola, 20, of Rancho Cucamonga, California
  • Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, 20, of Norco, California
  • Navy Corpsman Maxton W. Soviak, 22, of Berlin Heights, Ohio
  • Staff Sgt. Ryan C. Knauss, 23, of Corryton, Tennessee

Mohammad Sharifullah, also known as “Jafar,” is in federal custody for the bombing.

Trump’s Pardon Attorney Ed Martin Challenges Cory Mills Narrative — Slams D.C. Police Handling of Alleged Domestic Case, Calls Warrant Push a “Mop-Up Job”

Man in a trench coat discusses media criticism of the Trump administration outdoors with greenery in the background, featured on Lindell TV.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In pointed on-camera remarks at the White House, President Trump’s U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin—who was serving as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia at the time of the incident—is forcefully disputing media coverage surrounding Rep. Cory Mills.

He is directly challenging how an alleged domestic case has been characterized and how it was handled by his office.

See his statement here at the White House with LindellTV and GP’s Cara Castronuova:

Martin, who had previously been involved in legal advocacy related to January 6th political prisoners, told LindellTV that the “Fake News” narrative surrounding the case is inaccurate and that the focus should instead be on how the situation was handled by the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia.

Who Is Cory Mills — And Why This Matters

Cory Mills (R-Fla.) is a Republican member of Congress representing Florida’s 7th District and a military veteran with a background in defense contracting.

He is currently facing heightened scrutiny in Washington, including:

  • A House Ethics Committee review
  • Allegations related to financial disclosures and business dealings
  • Renewed attention surrounding a prior alleged Washington, D.C. domestic abuse incident
  • Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a resolution on Monday to expel Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) from Congress.

That D.C. incident—now back in the spotlight —is what Martin is addressing. The case has since resurfaced as congressional scrutiny intensifies.

Portraits of two professionals, one with long hair in a suit and the other with a beard and gray hair, both displaying serious expressions.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) and Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.)

Background on the D.C. Incident

The controversy stems from a 2025 incident in Washington, D.C. involving Mills.

Based on publicly reported information:

  • Police responded to a domestic call at the scene involving Mills and a female at a residence
  • No arrest was made at the time
  • A warrant request was later submitted to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C.
  • The warrant was not signed, and no criminal charges have been publicly filed

Martin did not comment on whether or not he believed Mills was innocent or guilty of the allegations.

His statement was focused squarely on the information his office received at the time. He pointed to what he described as the D.C. Metropolitan Police policy in domestic situations, saying officers are expected to respond and typically remove someone from the scene. He noted that in this case, a supervisor instructed officers to leave the individuals in place. Martin said that the decision reflected how police assessed the situation at the time, adding that if probable cause had been established, officers would have acted that night.

Martin emphasized that officers did not remove anyone at the scene, which he described as a key and underreported detail.

He stated that, under typical procedures in domestic-related calls, officers take action when they determine probable cause exists.

Martin said officers did not remove anyone at the scene, adding that they “made the judgment that there wasn’t an issue to the level that they should react.”

The Warrant Request: “Mop-Up Job”

According to Martin, the situation shifted the following day.

He said that after media attention began, authorities sought to move forward with a warrant—something he characterized as a “mop-up job.”

“They wanted us to clean it up,” Martin said.

He added that his office declined to proceed under those circumstances, saying, “We weren’t going to play that game.”

Strong Language: “Corruption”

Martin also used the word “corruption” in describing how he viewed the handling of the situation.

He did not identify specific individuals or allege criminal wrongdoing by name but indicated he believed the process itself was not properly followed.

“They were playing games with the rules,” he said.

Martin rejected the suggestion that his office failed to act, saying instead that the decision was based on applying consistent legal standards.

“You do the crime, you should be arrested, should be prosecuted. We are not afraid of that,” he said. “But I just don’t like seeing the fake news media trying to blame the Trump Administration and pretend that we were either complicit or encouraging people, whether they are in power or out of power. Elected official or not elected official. You got to do the right things, right?”

Why This Is Exploding Now

As Mills faces active scrutiny in Congress, including an ongoing House Ethics Committee review and calls for potential disciplinary action, the previously unresolved D.C. incident has re-emerged as a key point of focus.

Martin’s comments introduce a competing explanation—one that shifts attention from DOJ decision-making to the actions taken at the scene and the timing of the warrant request.

Bottom Line

Martin disputes the idea that his office mishandled the case, instead pointing to how the situation unfolded in real time and how it was revisited afterward.

His remarks add a new dimension to the story—one that could shape how the incident is interpreted as congressional scrutiny continues.

NPR Admits That It Could Get the Rich Libs to Pay For Coverage Trashing Conservatives Instead of Forcing Conservatives to Foot the Bill

NPR’s business model has — or, blessedly, had — always been providing hard-left content to rich urban liberals and forcing everyone, including the conservatives they trashed, to pay for it via their tax dollars.

Not that they’d acknowledge that. NPR’s claim was that they got basically 1 percent of their annual revenue from your tax dollars, then would insist in the next breath they desperately needed that 1 percent.

Both of these were half-truths: A federal entity called NPR only got 1 percent of the public broadcaster’s revenue from tax dollars, but that was just the national organization; when you added up all the subsidies, direct and indirect, to NPR and its stations through other forms of taxpayer largesse, that number was roughly at least a quarter of its operating budget — which it did desperately need under its former business model.

Last May, President Donald Trump signed an executive order cutting off taxpayer funds from going to NPR (and its television cousin, PBS) from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting: “At the very least, Americans have the right to expect that if their tax dollars fund public broadcasting at all, they fund only fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news coverage,” he said in a statement at the time.

That’s still tied up in the courts, but I’ve been reliably informed by past Democrat presidents that you can do a lot with “a pen” and “a phone,” and I suspect pulling NPR funding through the CPB is probably one of those things.

Even with the money tied up in court, NPR hasn’t really seen any significant diminishment in the quality or the reach of its programming, from what I’ve observed; I’m not sure whether that says more about the quality of NPR’s product or the need for the funding, or even if those two things are mutually exclusive.

And now, NPR is basically admitting what we knew all along: If they want to be a radio station by and for rich urban liberals, those rich urban liberals can fund it!

From NPR’s report on NPR being saved from (relative) penury by rich NPR boosters:

NPR has received two of the largest gifts in the public media network’s existence, totaling $113 million. They will go toward fueling innovation in NPR’s use of digital technology, increasing its connection with audiences, and ensuring the viability of public radio stations after Congress eliminated all federal funding for public media.

NPR President and CEO Katherine Maher said the gifts would help to set up the network and its stations for the next 50 years, beyond the radio network infrastructure that sprang up in 1970 from a coalition of community and university-owned public radio stations across the country.

Maher said that requires NPR and its stations to use tech to collaborate more effectively in providing programs and news coverage, to analyze how people are consuming their offerings and to discern how to raise money more effectively to pay for it. She said the gifts would be “catalytic investments” in NPR’s future.

Aside from the laughable “fueling innovation in NPR’s use of digital technology” (that’s how you phrase “I started another podcast” on your LinkedIn profile), this is effectively what NPR’s model should be.

Its tastes obviously run toward a certain audience that is not ill-heeled. They won’t be worse for wear if you start begging them for cash and giving them the world’s biggest tote bag.

Which users on X noted:

No, not if enough people step up!

Keep in mind that, as of right now, the biggest contributor is Connie Ballmer, wife of former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. She gave $80 million of that money.

“I support NPR because an informed public is the bedrock of our society, and democracy requires strong, independent journalism,” said Ballmer, who used to be on the board of the NPR Foundation.

“My hope is that this commitment provides the stability and the spark NPR needs to innovate boldly and strengthen its national network.”

And if it does, good for them. As long as they aren’t looting my tax dollars to do it, they can produce hagiographic segments where a book called “In Defense of Looting” and its author are praised with uncritical glee. (Seriously, they did that one time!)

If the network’s current trajectory and funding model is any indication — beyond the fact that they never should have forced any of us to pay for propaganda specifically aimed at disparaging half of the American listening public — they never needed those dollars in the first place. Thanks for finally admitting it, I suppose.

Famous UFO Researcher David Wilcock Dead from ‘Apparent Suicide’ TWO DAYS After Posting Video Warning About How it’s ‘Scary’ that ‘Scientists Are Going Missing,’ Previously Posted About How He’s Not Suicidal (VIDEO)

Man speaking in a studio setting with colorful lights and decorative lamps in the background, discussing a topic related to creativity or innovation.

Prominent UFO researcher, Ancient Aliens personality, and bestselling author David Wilcock was found dead Monday in an apparent suicide outside his home in Boulder County, Colorado.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press release that deputies responded to a 911 call to the 1400 block of Ridge Road, where Wilcock resided, around 10:44 a.m. on April 20, regarding a possible mental health crisis.

When deputies arrived at approximately 11:02 a.m., they encountered a male subject outside a residence holding a weapon.

The man then used the weapon on himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The release did not name Wilcock, citing the need to notify next of kin, but many were quick to note that this is the exact block he lived on.

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna subsequently confirmed Wilcock’s passing on X, writing, “We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted.”

Wilcock, 53, was a well-known figure in ufology and alternative research circles. He authored multiple New York Times bestsellers, appeared regularly on the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, and served as Director of Advanced Technology for Stavatti Aerospace.

He had been vocal about government disclosure on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) and advanced technologies, especially speaking to the over 500,000 people who subscribed to him on YouTube.

Just two days before his death, Wilcock went live on YouTube and made chilling remarks about a pattern of deaths in his community.

“I’m excited to be here, you know, every day that I have on earth is a gift and a blessing, and I’m very grateful for that, because frankly, people are disappearing. Scientists are going missing,” he said. “It’s a little bit scary.”

WATCH (the relevant comments begin around 10:30):

The day before he did the livestream, he posted on X saying, “My Dear Family, I am not yet sure if I am doing a show tomorrow. I’ve had some very intense stuff going on this weekend. Either way, I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate you! Always remember that the Creator is within — and we live in a loving universe. I am very grateful to you for all of your love, care and support.”

He also thanked his regular supporters and donors.

The timing has raised eyebrows among followers, especially given Wilcock’s past statements pushing back against any belief that he would kill himself.

In a resurfaced 2022 social media post, he wrote, “I plan on LIVING. Not suicidal at all. Just concerned about what happens when you prove God is real.”

This latest death fits directly into a disturbing pattern that The Gateway Pundit has been reporting on for weeks.

As we have detailed in multiple articles, the FBI under Director Kash Patel has launched a major investigation into the mysterious deaths and disappearances of at least 11 high-level U.S. scientists with access to classified information in nuclear, aerospace, propulsion, missile technology, and UAP-related programs.

President Donald Trump has publicly stated the White House is looking into the cases, describing the string of incidents as highly suspicious.

Many of the victims had ties to sensitive defense research. Several were found dead under circumstances initially ruled as suicide or ruled undetermined, while others simply vanished while hiking or walking without their phones, wallets, or keys.

Wilcock’s death now adds another high-profile name to the growing list at a moment when federal authorities say they are actively probing possible foreign actors or larger conspiracies behind the pattern.

No foul play has been alleged by authorities in Wilcock’s case at this time, and the investigation remains with the coroner.

The Gateway Pundit will continue to follow developments in both Wilcock’s case and the general investigation into the deaths of America’s top scientists.

Ceasefire Day 15: Trump Extends Ceasefire Unilaterally as Iran Says Blockade an Act of War

President Donald Trump announced an extension to the two-week ceasefire Tuesday on Truth Social, saying that Iran’s government was “seriously fractured” and Pakistan had asked him to hold off on resuming attacks. Trump said that the U.S. blockade would continue “until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other.”

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency said Wednesday that Tehran has not yet issued an official stance on Trump’s announcement extending the ceasefire.

A senior adviser to Tehran’s lead negotiator, Speaker of Parliament Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf, said in a post on X Tuesday that Trump’s extension “means nothing,” adding that “the losing side cannot dictate terms.” Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani said Tuesday that Tehran would not enter negotiations until the blockade is lifted.

A senior Iranian official told Drop Site News that Iran had signaled through Pakistani intermediaries it would only attend a second round of Islamabad talks Thursday if Trump both extended the ceasefire and ended the blockade.

The official also reiterated Iran’s conditions for a lasting peace agreement include Iran sanctions relief and the unfreezing of tens of billions of dollars in assets.

The U.S. Treasury Department stepped up its sanctions on Iran Tuesday, designating 14 new individuals and entities under what it called “Operation Economic Fury.”

“The Iranian regime must be held accountable for its extortion of global energy markets and indiscriminate targeting of civilians with missiles and drones,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

The IRGC Navy announced Wednesday it had intercepted and transferred two vessels to Iranian territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz, citing unauthorized operations and manipulation of navigation systems. One vessel, the MSC Francesca, was described by the IRGC as “linked to the Zionist regime.” The second vessel was identified as the Liberian-flagged Epaminodes.

The U.K. Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) issued an alert Wednesday morning reporting that a cargo vessel was fired upon, eight miles west of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, leaving the ship stopped in the water

Israel continued demolition operations in southern Lebanese villages Wednesday, as ceasefire violations mounted. A Lebanese research body, the National Council for Scientific Research and National Center for Natural Hazards and Early Warning, recorded 220 Israeli violations between April 16 through noon April 19, including 52 artillery bombardments, 50 mining and detonation operations, seven airstrikes, four phosphorus bombs, and the use of sonic devices.

The price of Brent crude oil rose above $100 per barrel, while gas prices remained elevated. AAA reported the national average price of gas at $4.02.

The Washington Post logo with the tagline Democracy Dies in Darkness, representing the importance of transparency in journalism.
The slogan of the Washington Post – Today they cut one-third of their staff.

An awful tragedy struck one of the nation’s leading legacy media outlets this week which has left colleagues in deep mourning.

The Washington Post revealed this morning that Dan Eggen, a reporter and editor at the paper for nearly three decades, was discovered dead in his home on Tuesday. He was 60 years old.

Murray’s ex-wife, Stephanie Armour confirmed his passing. Police officials do not suspect that foul play but was involved, but an autopsy is stilled needed to determine the cause of death.

Post executive editor Matt Murray mourned Eggen’s passing in a newsroom announcement:

“A sharp editor with a keen story sense, Dan was involved in hiring, editing and mentoring dozens of politics writers across the years,” Murray said.

He added that Eggen’s “news muscle and instincts were integral to our coverage.”

The Post notes that Eggen was part of several groundbreaking stories over the past few decades. This included his role as part of a team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for investigations into the terror network behind 9/11.

He also covered the Russia Collusion Hoax and J6.

More from the Post:

Mr. Eggen was at the center of much of The Post’s most sensitive and high-profile stories and projects during his nearly three decades at the paper. He was part of a team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 for investigations into the network behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and he later was a key editor on the paper’s Pulitzer-winning reporting on Russian election interference in 2016 and the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

While covering the Justice Department in 2001, Mr. Eggen helped examine the financing and organization of the terrorist cells that flew hijacked airplanes into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Northern Virginia.

Less than three weeks later, he and Post journalist Bob Woodward wrote: “U.S. investigators have determined that at least four of the 19 suspected hijackers were trained at camps in Afghanistan run by Osama bin Laden, whose al Qaeda network is believed responsible for the assaults on New York and Washington.”

Eggen was laid off in February along with hundreds of other Post reporters, but he had recently found his footing. He had successfully landed a job as an editor at NOTUS, a Washington news organization that is being renamed as the Star.

But he died before he could begin his new job.

Eggen is survived by his two children, Madeleine and Max Eggen, and a sister.
