Former Trump Staffer Proposes a Highly Explosive Plan That the President Can Use to Potentially Blow Up Virginia’s Hideous New Gerrymander

Democrats may want hold off on drinking too much champagne after last night’s results in the Commonwealth of Virginia because President Trump may have something up his sleeve to turn their cheers into tears.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Virginia voters last night narrowly passed the redistricting referendum that will benefit Democrats and disenfranchise millions of Virginia independents and Republicans.

The map goes from a perfectly fair 6-5 Dem-GOP split to a whopping 10-1 advantage for Team Blue. Far-left NOVA will also essentially run the state, having 6 of the 11 representatives.

Governor Abigail Spanberger lied to the people of Virginia on the campaign trail, saying that she would not back this and it was almost the first thing she did once in office.

The gerrymander has massive potential to backfire on Democrats, much like the passage of Obamacare. And according to one of President Trump’s former staffers, there is a way for Trump to make the Democrats pay with the mere stroke of a pen.

Chad Mizelle, who served a former chief of staff to the Attorney General of the United States and the Department of Homeland Security, published an op-ed on Fox News’s website on Tuesday with a highly explosive idea the President can use to destroy this new gerrymander.

Mizelle noted that back in the earliest days of the Republic, that Virginia and Maryland gave a certain amount of land to the U>S government to create the District of Columbia. The Virginia part of the land, which included Arlington County and the city of Alexandria, remained part of D.C. until 1847 when it was returned to Old Dominion via retrocession.

The reason for the retrocession was to protect slavery in Virginia. Past presidents have considered this retrocession unconstitutional.

Mow, Mizelle proposes that Trump issue an executive order proclaiming slavery-motivated retrocession unconstitutional and return Arlington and Alexandria back to the nation’s capital.

From Mizelle’s Fox News Op-Ed:

So, what can the president and his allies do? Aside from motivating Virginia residents to oppose this power grab, Trump has another tool he can use to “fight back,” to borrow the supporters’ phrase. He could fight fire with fire and choose another type of re-Districting.

In 1790, Virginia and Maryland each gave five square miles of land to the Federal government to create a district for a new national capital. That Virginia land remained part of the District of Columbia until 1847, when it was retroceded to the commonwealth. The shameful reason for that retrocession was protecting slavery in Virginia when the district abolished it.

This became moot after the Union defeated the ancestors of this current effort to rig elections and resist the elected federal leadership in the Civil War. Other presidents, including William Howard Taft, have considered retrocession unconstitutional and wanted to reclaim the land for the district, but the Supreme Court has never been asked to weigh in.

President Trump could issue an executive order declaring the slavery-motivated retrocession unconstitutional, triggering certain legal action, and allowing the courts to finally weigh in on whether the county of Arlington and the city of Alexandria in fact properly belong to the District of Columbia.

Make no mistake: this move would prompt a fiery court battle. It could also require Virginia and the federal government to take action to ensure Arlington and Alexandria return to D.C.

But Mizelle says this form re-Districting is on sound legal footing:

This order would be on better legal footing than many of President Joe Biden’s most egregious orders, such as those imposing an eviction moratorium or forgiving billions in student debt with the stroke of an (auto) pen. As some of the deepest blue areas of the commonwealth – and the country – and loaded with federal government employees, residents of this region should feel right at home as part of D.C.

Trump has already gone several places on legal issues where no president has gone before, including on birthright citizenship. When it comes to this president, anything is possible.

Democrats’ Virginia Gerrymandering Referendum Narrowly Passes

Virginia voters on Tuesday approved a measure allowing Democrats to draw a new congressional map, a victory the party says could help it gain up to five House seats as it seeks to reclaim control of Congress.

The initiative passed with a narrow majority of 51.6 percent in favor, with 48.4 percent opposed. It will allow the state government, controlled by Democrats, to bypass the state’s independent redistricting committee and redraw its congressional districts before the upcoming midterm elections in November.

The new map is expected to leave just one Virginia just Republican representative out of the state’s delegation of 11. The current Virginia House delegation is made up of five Republicans and six Democrats.

Glenn Youngkin, the former Republican governor of Virginia, called the initiative an “egregious power grab.” Democrats say they are just responding to Republicans, pointing to Texas redrawing its congressional map in 2025 to add potentially five more seats for Republicans in the state.

The American Conservative Needs Your Support to End the War

Dear Reader,

The war in Iran has been halted by a tenuous ceasefire– one that could break imminently. As the cost in blood and treasure mounts, as American strength is degraded in every other world theater, as the economy slides toward the abyss, the White House and its allies have still not articulated the concepts of a plan for concluding this war of choice.

Founded in 2002 to oppose the catastrophic war in Iraq, The American Conservative has distinguished itself as the most prominent, thoughtful, and trenchant institutional critic of this Middle Eastern folly. We have been and very much remain the most forthright antiwar conservative institution in Washington, DC.

Ever since the first air strikes in the early morning of February 28, TAC’s writers and editors have worked overtime to provide you with the facts and to counsel prudence to policymakers. Our staff has appeared in a multitude of outside media outlets, including The New York Times, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, POLITICO, the BBC, Le Monde, NBC News, Al Jazeera, The Megyn Kelly Show, among many others.

I will be frank: We can’t do this without you. Fighting for sanity in American foreign policy is more important than ever. Can you help us with a tax-deductible donation to help us save the country from itself?

Thank you, as always, for your attention and support. TAC’s readership is remarkable for its loyalty. We are always deeply grateful and humbled by your generosity.

My best regards,

FAA Grounds Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin Rocket in Epic Failure — Satellite Hurled into Wrong Orbit

In another humiliating blow to Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, the Federal Aviation Administration has grounded Blue Origin’s massive New Glenn rocket following a spectacular mishap during its third flight.

The rocket successfully launched from Cape Canaveral on Sunday, April 19, and the booster even stuck the landing like a pro, but the upper stage completely botched the most critical part: putting a multi-million-dollar commercial satellite into the correct orbit.

The satellite is now a total loss, with its onboard thrusters unable to save it. It will deorbit and burn up in a fiery reentry.

Fox 35 reported:

The New Glenn rocket lifted off on Sunday without major issues, and its first-stage booster successfully landed on a drone ship, marking a technical achievement for Blue Origin. However, the payload — a communications satellite built by AST SpaceMobile — was placed into the wrong orbit, making it unusable.

The satellite, known as BlueBird 7, was intended to support direct-to-cellphone broadband service. Instead, it was deployed into a much lower orbit than planned, leaving it without enough propulsion to reach operational altitude. The satellite is expected to reenter Earth’s atmosphere and be destroyed.

The lost payload represents a financial setback worth hundreds of millions of dollars and sent the company’s stock (NASDAQ: ASTS) lower on Monday. AST SpaceMobile is competing with firms including SpaceX and Amazon in the satellite communications market.

The FAA wasted no time slapping a “mishap” label on the mission and ordering a full investigation. New Glenn is now grounded indefinitely until Blue Origin and the feds sort out what went wrong with the second-stage engines.

In a statement on Monday, Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp wrote on X:

“Now that we have a more complete view, we wanted to provide an update on our NG-3 mission. While we are pleased with the nominal booster recovery, we clearly didn’t deliver the mission our customer wanted, and our team expects.

Early data suggest that on our second GS2 burn, one of the BE-3U engines didn’t produce sufficient thrust to reach our target orbit.

Blue Origin is leading the anomaly investigation with FAA oversight to learn from the data and implement the improvements needed to quickly return to flight operations. We have been in steady communication with the team at AST SpaceMobile, we appreciate their partnership, and we’re looking forward to many flights together.”

Remember when Jeff Bezos and his Blue Origin cronies tried to sell us the “historic” all-female spaceflight last year as some groundbreaking feminist triumph?

On April 14, 2025, Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket blasted off from West Texas carrying a hand-picked crew of six well-connected women: Bezos’ then-fiancée (now wife) Lauren Sánchez, pop star Katy Perry, CBS’s Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

The entire thing lasted roughly 11 minutes, straight up to the edge of space and straight back down.

Democrat Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick Resigns

Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) resigned Tuesday, hours before a House committee was set to consider a punishment over her ethics violations.

Cherfilus-McCormick, who was in her third term and had been running for reelection, denounced the ethics committee inquiry as a “witch hunt” that denied her sufficient time to mount a defense.

“I simply cannot stand by and allow my due process rights to be trampled on, and my good name to be tarnished,” she said in a statement. “Rather than play these political games, I choose to step away so that I can devote my time to fighting for my neighbors in Florida’s 20th district.”

Cherfilus-McCormick was charged in November, 2025 with fraudulently obtaining $5 million in Covid relief funds from FEMA for her campaign funds and for personal use. She faces up to 53 years in prison if convicted.

With her departure, the GOP extends its House majority, to 217–213, plus one independent who caucuses with the GOP. There are now four active vacancies in the lower chamber of Congress.

Cherfilus-McCormick’s resignation follows the departure of Tony Gonzales (R-TX) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) on April 14 after they faced ethics investigations and allegations of sexual misconduct, respectively.

Two masked suspects armed with rifles just pulled off a massive $1.8 million heist on a Brinks armored truck on Tuesday morning and walked away scot-free.

According to 6abc, the robbery unfolded around 9:45 a.m. in the Tacony section of the city, where two masked men armed with rifles ambushed the armored truck as it was servicing a financial business along Torresdale Avenue.

The suspects reportedly jumped out of a vehicle, executed the heist within moments, and fled the scene with an estimated $1.8 million in cash.

No shots were fired and, incredibly, no one was injured, but the criminals escaped clean.

Witnesses described chaos as the suspects sped away, with one observer noting the getaway vehicle “took off on the sidewalk” immediately after the robbery.

Authorities later located what they believe to be the getaway vehicle, a blue Acura SUV, abandoned miles away. But as of now, no suspects are in custody.

WATCH:

The Gateway Pundit has been sounding the alarm on Philadelphia’s out-of-control crime wave for years.

We’ve repeatedly exposed how Soros-backed District Attorney Larry Krasner has turned the city into a revolving-door justice system where violent thugs are coddled, repeat offenders are released without bail, and police are hamstrung by defund-the-police nonsense and anti-cop rhetoric from the radical left.

From brazen juvenile flash mob robberies to cold-blooded executions in broad daylight, Philly under Krasner has become a national embarrassment.

Remember our reporting on the thugs who executed a defenseless man in a Philly suburb? Or the endless string of smash-and-grab thefts and armed robberies that go unpunished? Krasner’s office has spent more time threatening ICE agents and harassing law enforcement than locking up actual criminals.

Obama-Appointed Judge Tosses Kash Patel’s Defamation Suit Against Ex-FBI Official – Rules the Claim Patel Spent More Time in Nightclubs Is Just “Rhetorical Hyperbole”

Kash Patel (L); Frank Figliuzzi (R)

A federal judge has thrown out Kash Patel’s defamation lawsuit against disgraced former FBI official and MSNBC talking head Frank Figliuzzi.

In a sharply worded ruling, U.S. District Judge George C. Hanks Jr., appointed by Barack Obama, dismissed the case outright, concluding that Figliuzzi’s viral claim, that Patel spent more time in nightclubs than at FBI headquarters, was not a statement of fact, but protected speech.

In June 2025, FBI Director Kash Patel filed a defamation lawsuit in Texas against MSNBC’s resident deep state mouthpiece, Frank Figliuzzi, accusing him of fabricating a vicious lie designed to smear Patel’s reputation and sabotage his leadership at the Bureau.

Figliuzzi, a disgraced former FBI official-turned-leftist propagandist, claimed on live television that Patel had “been visible at nightclubs far more than he has been on the seventh floor of the Hoover Building,” the New York Post reported.

Figliuzzi continued, “There are reports that daily briefings to him have been changed from every day to maybe twice weekly. So this is both a blessing and a curse, because if he’s really trying to run things without any experience level, things could be bad.”

WATCH:

According to Patel’s legal team, that claim is not only false—it was knowingly made up out of thin air.

“Defendant knew that this was a lie when he said it,” the lawsuit reads. “Since becoming Director of the FBI, Director Patel has not spent a single minute inside of a nightclub.”

The complaint further blasts Figliuzzi’s pathetic attempt to shield himself with the classic fake news escape hatch—saying “reportedly”—when there was never a single report, source, or shred of evidence.

Patel’s attorneys made it clear: “Defendant made up the story out of whole cloth, and by using the word ‘reportedly,’ attempts to distance himself from what is a maliciously false and defamatory statement.”

And now an Obama-appointed federal judge has waved it all away with a wink and a nod.

Judge Hanks made it clear that the statement, when viewed in context, was exaggerated commentary, not a factual allegation.

The ruling emphasized that a “person of ordinary intelligence” would not seriously believe that the FBI Director was literally spending more time partying than running the bureau.

The judge determined that:

  • A “reasonable person” would not interpret the nightclub comment as a factual claim
  • The statement was an “exaggerated, provocative and amusing” jab
  • Therefore, it falls under protected speech as rhetorical hyperbole—not defamation

Customers FURIOUS After Discovery on Pizza Box…

A freshly baked pepperoni pizza in a takeout box

Papa John’s sparked a firestorm when customers discovered tipping reminders printed directly on their pizza boxes, igniting a viral debate about delivery fees, tip transparency, and whether workers actually receive the gratuity customers think they’re paying.

The Pizza Box That Broke the Camel’s Back

The controversy erupted when a customer opened their Papa John’s delivery to find a tipping reminder staring back from the box itself. The reaction was swift and furious, with customers flooding social media demanding answers to a simple question: if they’re already paying delivery fees, why the aggressive push for additional tips? The physical reminder represented a new frontier in tipping requests, moving beyond app prompts to literally putting the ask in customers’ hands alongside their pepperoni and cheese.

Where Your Online Tip Actually Goes

The viral incident uncovered a troubling reality about digital tipping at Papa John’s. Delivery drivers took to TikTok and other platforms revealing that online tips frequently don’t reach the workers who bring food to your door. According to driver testimony, stores often retain portions of digital gratuities or route them through systems where they’re subject to taxation and company cuts. This practice creates a perverse incentive where customers believe they’ve tipped generously online, only for drivers to see pennies on the dollar, if anything at all.

The delivery fee itself compounds customer frustration. Papa John’s charges this fee ostensibly to cover operational costs, but drivers receive none of it as compensation. Customers reasonably assumed this fee went toward driver pay, creating widespread confusion when workers request additional tips. The system essentially double-dips: charging customers a delivery fee while simultaneously pressuring them to tip, with neither payment reliably reaching the person doing the actual delivering.

The Cash Tip Underground Economy

Experienced drivers have developed a workaround that benefits them but undermines the digital ordering system entirely. They uniformly recommend cash tips, which bypass store processing systems and reach workers directly, untaxed and uncut. This creates an underground economy where savvy customers know to skip online tipping entirely and hand drivers cash at the door. The practice reveals how broken the official system has become when workers and customers both prefer operating outside it.

The problem extends beyond delivery orders. Papa John’s app previously forced customers to enter tips even for pickup orders where no service occurred beyond handing over a box. Reddit users documented bypassing this requirement by entering one-cent tips, highlighting how mandatory tipping fields have metastasized beyond any reasonable service expectation. When customers must game the system to avoid tipping themselves for picking up their own food, something has gone fundamentally wrong.

Corporate Silence and Consumer Revolt

Papa John’s has issued no official statement addressing the box tipping controversy or clarifying how tip distribution works. This silence speaks volumes about corporate priorities. Rather than transparently explaining where customer money goes, the company allows confusion to fester while drivers bear the brunt of customer frustration. The lack of accountability reflects poorly on a chain already battling perception problems, now compounded by accusations of tip skimming and delivery fee deception.

The broader implications extend throughout the pizza delivery industry. Competitors like Domino’s and Pizza Hut face similar questions about tip transparency and delivery fee justification. Third-party services like DoorDash claim to pass tips directly to drivers, but even they depend on stores accurately reporting and forwarding gratuities. The entire ecosystem relies on trust that has been systematically eroded by practices like Papa John’s box reminders and opaque tip handling.

The Common Sense Solution

This controversy boils down to basic honesty and fair dealing. If Papa John’s charges delivery fees, customers deserve to know exactly what those fees cover and whether drivers benefit. If the company facilitates tipping through its app, workers should receive those tips in full without mysterious deductions. Printing tipping reminders on boxes while potentially pocketing digital gratuities represents the kind of corporate double-speak that conservatives rightly criticize as undermining free market trust. Companies succeed long-term through transparency and fair treatment of workers and customers alike, not through fee manipulation and tip skimming schemes that erode confidence in the entire transaction.

Harvey Weinstein and Jessica Mann: third rape trial

One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready…

The saga of the New York trials of Harvey Weinstein is a bit convoluted, so bear with us: in 2020, disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was convicted of rape and a criminal sex act, resulting in a 23-year prison sentence.

That verdict was later overturned by New York’s Supreme Court due to the improper use of uncharged accusers’ testimony.

So, he got a retrial in 2025, in which he was convicted of one count of first-degree criminal sexual act (involving Miriam Haley in 2006).

Weinstein was also acquitted of a similar count involving another woman, and a mistrial (hung jury) was declared on the third-degree rape charge involving Jessica Mann.

So, now, a THIRD trial is taking place on the sole count of raping Jessica Mann.

In the meantime, he was tried in 2022 in Los Angeles and convicted on three counts (forcible rape, forced oral copulation, and sexual penetration) against one unnamed victim.

This led to a 16-year sentence in 2023, which is to be served after the New York term.

Harvey Weinstein appearing serious during a public hearing, wearing a suit and tie with a somber expression against a dark background.

Today, Manhattan prosecutors told the jury that Harvey Weinstein ‘wielded his power like a weapon’ against a ‘fragile and sheltered young woman’ who claims he raped her 13 years ago.

NBC News reported:

“It was his world and everyone was just living in it,” Assistant District Attorney Candace White told jurors during opening statements, presenting the disgraced Hollywood tycoon as a bully who ‘expected everyone to fall in line’ with his every demand.

The trial revolves around allegations from Jessica Mann, a former aspiring actor who claims Weinstein sexually assaulted her at the DoubleTree hotel in midtown Manhattan in 2013. He has vehemently denied Mann’s accusations and all allegations of nonconsensual sex.

‘Jessica naively believed that she had an opportunity’ for professional advancement after first meeting Weinstein, White said, arguing that the movie mogul feigned interest in her acting career and preyed on her vulnerability.”

Defense lawyer Jacob Kaplan rebutted the prosecution’s allegations, saying Weinstein and Mann had a lengthy ‘consensual sexual relationship’, and accusing the actress of having ‘slept her way into Hollywood’.

“’She was always in control of her actions’, Kaplan said.

Kaplan highlighted emails the two exchanged, which he characterized as ‘verbal snapshots’ of a ‘supportive’, ‘caring’ and ‘mutually beneficial’ relationship that spanned four years. ‘He didn’t rape her at any time’, Kaplan said.”
