New evidence has been revealed during the hearing for Karmelo Anthony’s motion for a new trial, as Collin County prosecutor Bill Wirskye detailed how the convicted murderer had been reported for stalking his ex-girlfriend just before he fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet.
Wirskye also shared texts in which Anthony expressed being “on the verge” and fantasized about stabbing someone and licking the blood from the blade.
The prosecutor told the court that Anthony’s girlfriend, Valeria Perez, went to school officials that very morning and reported that she had broken up with him and that he was stalking her.
Roughly one hour later, Metcalf was stabbed to death under the Memorial High School tent at David Kuykendall Stadium.
He died in his twin brother’s arms.
Text messages recovered from that morning show Anthony writing “I’m low key on the verge,” a statement Wirskye emphasized as evidence that he was looking for trouble.
The prosecutor further revealed that Anthony had a history of violence, had previously been taken by his parents to a special program at LSU for children who could not keep their hands to themselves, and was obsessed with starting fights.
Most chillingly, Wirskye shared a text in which Anthony fantasized about stabbing someone and then licking the blood off the blade, adding that Anthony “wanted to stab someone.”

These details were part of a 404 motion the state had prepared regarding character and prior acts, which the defense had sought to keep out of the original trial.
Strangely, as TGP previously reported, Perez publicly launched an “Official Fan Page” on Instagram supporting her killer boyfriend, while calling him her “sweet boy,” after the verdict was announced.

Before the trial, Perez had maintained a relatively low public profile. She stepped into the spotlight by sharing public support and launching the fan page.
Anthony was convicted of murder in June and sentenced to 35 years after a jury rejected his self-defense argument following less than three hours of deliberation.
Witnesses testified that he had refused repeated requests to leave the rival team’s tent, reached into his bag, warned “Touch me and see what happens,” and then stabbed Metcalf in the chest.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, after the verdict, Anthony’s new pro bono appellate attorneys filed for a new trial and successfully sought Roach’s recusal based on the judge’s post-trial comments affirming that the jury “got it right.”
A different judge is now hearing the new-trial request.
The newly revealed information further undermines any ridiculous self-defense claims.
Anthony was clearly out looking for a confrontation.
