Mike Rogers, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Michigan, appeared on Meet the Press over the weekend and did battle with host Kristen Welker about Abdul El-Sayed’s reported family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Welker acts like a campaign surrogate for El-Sayed. In fact, she asked Rogers more questions about El-Sayed than she did of El-Sayed himself in an interview she did with him last week.
Rogers held his own and called out Welker and the rest of the media for continually going to bat for this guy.
KRISTEN WELKER: Let me ask you about one of the big issues that you’ve raised in this campaign, which is Abdul El-Sayed, your challenger’s background. President Trump posted overnight calling Abdul El-Sayed “a Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist who hates Jews and Blacks and Americans.” As you know, there’s no evidence to support any of those claims. Do you agree with the president, Congressman? Yes or no?
FMR. REP. MIKE ROGERS: Boy, I don’t understand the national press. They have to work and twist themselves in knots not to understand Abdul’s relationship with the thinking of the Muslim Brotherhood.
When you write a letter, supporting of Morsi in 2012 and 2013 saying you should “purge the police” and “purge the media,” and by the way, he will not answer this question. Look at The New York Times, who said, “He just won’t answer this question,” there’s a reason. He is getting money from groups that support the Muslim Brotherhood. Group money from groups that support Hamas and Hezbollah. That’s a thinking issue. I wore the uniform of the United States, Kristen, so that people could vote any way that they want to in this country. It’s not how you pray, it’s how you think. And that has a consequence.
KRISTEN WELKER: Congressman, he has denied and denounced the Muslim Brotherhood and denied any ties to them. For context, I just want to –
FMR. REP. MIKE ROGERS: Nope, he has not. He dismissed the question –
KRISTEN WELKER: He did in an interview with me — he said he had no ties to the Muslim Brotherhood–
FMR. REP. MIKE ROGERS: He won’t answer The New York Times, he won’t answer a local newspaper. I just don’t buy that.
KRISTEN WELKER: Let’s talk about the 2012 letter. I want give folks some context. In 2012, Egyptians were rising up –
FMR. REP. MIKE ROGERS: Listen, I get you guys want to defend this guy. But I think it’s unbelievable that you would not hold him accountable for his beliefs– and what he thinks America ought to look like–
Watch the video below:
“I get you guys want to defend this guy.” @MikeRogersForMI: “I wish you would have done this for Abdul El Sayed. That would have been a great interview. But what you’re doing now is trying to twist this thing to defend your position for letting him lie to you.”@kwelkernbc: “I… pic.twitter.com/F3NsUzQ2J4
Burma’s draconian conscription laws have created a cottage industry of drugging, capturing, or forcibly press-ganging young people into military service. Conscripts are often unpaid despite being sent on dangerous missions or used as human shields. Their families receive little or no compensation when they are killed. Photo courtesy of the Global New Light of Myanmar.
Burma’s (Myanmar’s) military junta has never disclosed how many people it has conscripted. When it activated the People’s Military Service Law in February 2024, the regime said it would draft 5,000 people per batch, or about 50,000 a year, from a pool of about 13 million eligible citizens. By September 2026, it had reached Batch 28.
The Myanmar Defense and Security Institute (MDSI), a research group founded by defected officers, estimates that more than 130,000 new soldiers have been recruited since the law took effect. The national quota was raised in April to 5,000 recruits weekly.
According to sources close to the regime, only about 631 of the first batch’s 5,155 recruits had been allowed to return home two years after their training began.
The law covers men aged 18 to 35, women aged 18 to 27, and professionals up to age 45. In practice, the burden falls on the poor, because wealthy families that receive a summons can pay poorer young men to serve in their place.
In Hpa-An, the Karen State capital, authorities mainly target casual laborers, masons, shop employees, and commuters. They also target internal migrant workers who fled fighting in the Ayeyarwady, Bago, Magway, and Sagaing regions. In Taunggyi, the Shan State capital, the junta abducted 140 men in a single week in November 2024, most of them drug users who were out at night.
In Mandalay, high school students have been entered into conscription lotteries, and ward administrators have threatened to arrest parents who fail to attend. Since January 2026, the junta has been compiling lists of women aged 18 to 27 in Hsihseng Township, southern Shan State.
The MDSI documented 23 child recruits, some as young as 15, at four training camps. Human Rights Watch reported that the military abducted and forcibly recruited more than 1,000 Rohingya men and boys from Rakhine State.
Most conscripts are not drafted through formal summonses. The MDSI found that about 70 percent of conscripts in military camps were recruited through threats, arrests, or nighttime abductions. In Yangon alone, the monitoring group Rangoon Scout Network recorded 573 young people forcibly detained across 33 townships between January and August 2026.
In Kengtung, eastern Shan State, troops have shifted from nighttime raids to seizing young men in public in the early evening, using unmarked private vehicles. In September 2026, junta forces and the allied Tangutan militia abducted nearly 200 young people in Putao and Machanbaw townships, Kachin State. About 100 of them were flown out of the state to training centers and frontline areas.
Recruiters also use false job offers. One Yangon man was offered work loading construction materials for 40,000 kyats ($10) a day but was instead sold into military recruitment. Two conscripts who surrendered to the Arakan Army said officers planted illegal drugs in one man’s hands, photographed him, and gave him a choice between military service and prison. Brokers have also handed young men deported from Thailand over to junta administrators at the border for recruitment.
Abducted recruits are sold along a chain of buyers. In Yangon, taxi drivers, labor brokers, and members of the pro-junta Pyu Saw Htee militia sell people grabbed off streets for 150,000 to 300,000 kyats each ($35 to $70).
A village administrator in Mandalay Region told RFA that militias and others linked to the military capture people on officers’ orders and hand them over to brokers. He said brokers buy these captives for 4 to 5 million kyats ($1,000 to $1,250) and resell them to administrators for about 15 million kyats ($4,000). The administrator admitted buying recruits from brokers every three months to fill his village’s quota. When a recruit comes from another township, immigration officials issue him a new ID card, with brokers paying the officials.
A substitute who passes the medical examination can sell for up to 30 million kyats ($7,500). One Yangon man was sold for 15 million kyats ($3,800), sent to the front, and killed fighting the Arakan Army in Kyaukphyu on May 18, 2026. In Myawaddy, on the Thai border, abducted youths are sold as substitutes for 4 to 10 million kyats ($1,000 to $2,500).
Families who can afford it buy their sons back. In Kengtung, parents pay ransoms of up to 10 million kyats (about $2,400) for abducted youths. In Hpa-An, one family paid 1 million kyats (about $250) for a young man’s release, even after he proved he lived locally. In Putao, a village administrator’s son was freed after his family paid 20 million kyats (about $5,000). A family in Magway Region paid the same amount. However, RFA reported that some captives are sent to training even after their families pay the ransom.
The practice has drawn condemnation even from within the junta’s own camp. On August 4, Ko Ko Htwe, a Mandalay Region lawmaker from the pro-military Union Solidarity and Development Party, told the regional parliament that “military service fees” collected from households were being used to buy young people for military service. He described the practice as akin to human trafficking.
While families pay millions of kyats to buy their sons’ freedom, the junta places little value on conscripts’ lives.
Confidential military documents show that conscripts make up over 70 percent of some deployment columns. Defected Captain Zin Yaw said regular officers serve in core units while conscripts are assigned to the flanks and the most dangerous frontline positions. A conscript captured by the Arakan Army said conscripts account for most casualties, while another said they are sent forward without enough ammunition. Conscripts are also used as porters and human shields.
Defectors told The Irrawaddy that conscripts are used as cannon fodder in offensives to retake territory. Captured conscripts told Development Media Group that officers put new recruits at the front of attacks under threat of being shot if they retreat, a threat echoed by a conscript who described being sent on an impossible mission. A defector said an officer shot his conscripted friend in the head for retreating. Two conscripts who tried to escape were tied to a tree within the Arakan Army’s sniper sights as punishment. Resistance fighters on the Karen front say they periodically pause fighting so junta units can collect the bodies of conscripts killed in wave after wave.
After five Rohingya forced recruits were killed in fighting in Rakhine State, military authorities promised their families 1 million kyats ($476) and two sacks of rice. Some families receive nothing at all. The widow of a first-batch conscript killed in Rakhine told Frontier Myanmar that she had received nothing from the military since his death. Her husband had been promised a basic salary of 150,000 kyats plus a 100,000-kyat hardship allowance but received no money during training.
Even modest death payments can be avoided. A defected army captain told Frontier that the military lists soldiers killed in action as missing when their bodies are not recovered, denying compensation to many families.

Armed bandits attacked Binnari village in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State at about 3 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, shortly after Jumu’ah prayers, according to a police statement. Police said a large number of assailants entered the village amid heavy gunfire, looted food from shops, and burned houses, shops, and motorcycles. Reports of the death toll vary. Police said 10 people were killed, while Tribune Online reports that the toll has risen to 46 as the search for missing persons continues.
Yahuza Binnari, a resident who fled to a nearby village, said, “We counted more than 18 dead bodies, while several others were still missing.” Another resident said the attackers belonged to bandit groups that control several communities along Taraba State’s borders with Plateau and Bauchi states. Local sources suspected the attackers had crossed into Taraba from neighboring Plateau State, though this has not been independently verified.
Accounts of the security response differed. In a video circulating on Facebook, a resident speaking in Hausa from a market square said the attack lasted over four hours without a response from security agencies. However, Babangida Ibrahim, commander of the local Hunters Association, said police and army personnel responded after the alarm was raised and the attackers fled as security operatives approached.
Police deployed joint teams comprising tactical units, the Police Mobile Force, conventional police officers, and Nigerian Army personnel to the area. Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas condemned the killings and called on security agencies to bring those responsible to justice.
In Zamfara State, residents of Birnin Tudu, also known as Tudun Biri, in Gummi Local Government Area repelled a three-day bandit assault from Tuesday, October 20, to Thursday, October 22. Witnesses described the attackers as Islamic bandits who impose heavy taxes on villagers and rape women and children. Gunmen riding more than 100 motorcycles, each carrying three people, surrounded the village.
According to Leadership, villagers killed 11 bandits on the first day, seven on the second, and 12 on the third, bringing the total to 30. Three villagers were also killed. One resident told Daily Trust that the attackers used communication devices to call others in the surrounding bush to regroup, adding, “while we were trying to seize their rifles, another group attacked us again.”
Zamfara State Police Command spokesman DSP Yazid Abubakar said the Divisional Police Officer for Gummi led officers to support the villagers. PRNigeria reports that the Civilian Joint Task Force, local vigilantes, and the air component of Operation Fansan Yamma also took part. Zamfara has two communities named Birnin Tudu, and police confirmed that the attack occurred in Gummi Local Government Area, rather than Anka.
A Nigerian Christian reporter based in Plateau State argued that Christian communities in the Middle Belt should be allowed to arm themselves and organize their own defense, as Muslim villagers in Zamfara have done successfully. He said that both the bandits and the villagers defending Birnin Tudu were armed Muslims, while Christian communities remain unarmed.
On October 22, the Nigerian Senate asked Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to investigate the killing of 113 people in four attacks in Benue State. Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende, who represents the Benue North-East Senatorial District, sponsored the motion. Benue is a majority-Christian state. Catholic Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Makurdi testified before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee that the state’s population is 97% Christian.
According to the motion, 24 people were killed in Sai, in Mbajir Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. Residents said suspected armed herdsmen entered the village at about 1 a.m. on July 1, 2026, and shot villagers. Sai resident Joseph Hir told AFP that residents were sleeping when the attackers arrived.
The motion recorded another 63 deaths in Bom and Aboajio villages in Mbazun Ward of Ukum Local Government Area. Those attacks occurred in the early morning hours of August 16 and 17, 2026, when gangs on motorcycles carried out simultaneous assaults on several communities in the Mbazun and Mbaterem area.
In Ayilamo, in Tombo Ward of Logo Local Government Area, 15 people were killed, including six Mobile Police officers deployed to protect residents. Four officers were killed alongside civilians in an attack on September 10, 2026.
Two more were killed on September 14, when gunmen ambushed the convoy of the Ayilamo Divisional Police Officer. Residents told Premium Times that the attackers were suspected armed herders operating from forests and deserted villages in Tombo Ward.
The most recent attack listed in the motion occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2026, when 11 people were killed in Tse Biliji and Tse Shishi Nyako villages in Mbatian Ward of Ukum Local Government Area. Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the killing of armed security personnel raised concerns about the safety of unarmed communities.
The Senate called for the immediate deployment of troops to Ukum, Katsina-Ala, and Logo and directed the National Emergency Management Agency and the Benue State Emergency Management Agency to provide relief materials to displaced people.
The illegal alien suspected of decapitating the Iwo Jima memorial near Marine Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, Virginia, was granted bond.
Prince William County Circuit Court Chief Judge Petula Metzler on Monday set bond at $2,500 for Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, a 27-year-old man charged in the sledgehammer attack that removed the head from one of the limestone figures on the memorial.
It was disclosed during the Monday hearing that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had lodged a detainer against Maldonado Soriano.
While the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office opposed release, the defense sought bond.
Metzler granted the $2,500 bond anyway, according to local reporting and a post by WJLA reporter Nick Minock.
BREAKING: Prince William County Circuit Court Chief Judge Petula Metzler granted bond at $2,500 for Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano. The illegal immigrant is accused of beheading and damaging the Iwo Jima statue in Quantico, Virginia.
It was revealed in court this morning that ICE lodged a detainer against the illegal immigrant accused of beheading and damaging the Iwo Jima statue.
Officers responded around 10:13 p.m. on Oct. 21 to reports of vandalism at the statue near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Fuller Road.
They found Maldonado Soriano striking the monument with a sledgehammer, police said, and he was detained at the scene.
The attack severed the head from one of the six Marine figures and damaged the face and helmet of another. Repair costs are estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
BREAKING: Outrage erupts after man named “Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano” took a SLEDGEHAMMER to the historic Iwo Jima statue at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia and knocked the head off one of the Marines
HE LITERALLY BEHEADED IT.
Dig into his history and find out if he’s an illegal! Should be deported regardless!
Police caught Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, of Stafford, in the act around 10 PM Wednesday. They say the damage runs into the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars
The 9-foot limestone statue was carved by Felix de Weldon, the same sculptor behind the famous Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington. It honors the Marines who raised the flag over Iwo Jima
He’s charged with felony destruction of property, trespassing, and felony injury to a monument, and he’s being held without bond.
Maldonado Soriano faces felony charges of destruction of property, injury to a monument, and trespassing with intent to damage property.
Federal sources have identified him as a Mexican national who entered the United States illegally in December 1999. He received Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status under the Obama administration in 2014 with later extensions, most recently under the Biden administration in 2024.
That status was not renewed and expired in August 2026 under the current administration.
JUST IN: The man caught DECAPlTATlNG an Iwo Jima statue in Virginia has been hit with MULTIPLE FELONIES and is being held WITHOUT BOND
AND he faces 10+ YEARS in prison, thanks to Trump
This dude is REALLY about to FIND OUT
Nearly 7,000 Americans died taking Iwo Jima in WWII. Three of the men depicted in that statue never came home.
We have FAR too many people in our country who fundamentally hate us.
The limestone sculpture depicts the iconic World War II flag-raising on Mount Suribachi. It has been used for military ceremonies, including promotions and reenlistments.
White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said in a statement that Maldonado Soriano “disrespected our brave service members and defaced a beautiful monument that honored their sacrifice.”
The case remains pending in local court.
The ICE detainer was noted on the record at the bond hearing, yet the circuit judge approved the $2,500 release amount anyway.
Further details on the defendant’s next court date or any federal action were not immediately available.
Former FBI Director James Comey is facing indictment again — this time for disclosing classified information.
Comey was hit with two charges on October 5 in the District Court for the District of Columbia. The charging document was made public on Monday.
This is the third criminal case that the Trump DOJ has brought against Comey.
The Justice Department also notified Comey that the government is seizing all property from proceeds traceable to the offense.
The new criminal charges are related to Comey’s illegal disclosure of classified information to the New York Times.
Comey contacted the New York Times to correct an October 5, 2016 article titled, “Yahoo Said to Have Aided U.S. Email Surveillance by Adapting Spam Filter.”
“The United States’ investigation has uncovered evidence that former FBI Director, James B. Comey, sought to correct misinformation which had appeared in the press by way of Reuters the day before,” Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Farahnak said. “The investigation has uncovered evidence that Mr. Comey directed staff to speak to Mr. Savage about specific accuracy concerns related to the Reuters article, and thereby illegally transferred classified information.”
The case was assigned to Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee.
Comey’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that the new charges are invalid because Comey has not been indicted by a grand jury.
The former FBI Director’s attorneys also argued that the case should be thrown out because the charges are past the statute of limitations.
Comey became enraged and lashed out at the Trump DOJ in a video message posted to his Substack.
“Well, they’re back again. It would almost be funny if it weren’t such an appalling abuse of the Department of Justice, one that we cannot become numb to,” Comey said.
“Nothing’s changed with me. I’m still innocent. I’m still not afraid of these people, and I still believe in the independent federal judiciary,” he said
WATCH:
Comey was previously indicted in the Eastern District of Virginia on charges of making false statements to Congress. That case was ultimately dismissed.
James Comey, last year, was also indicted in North Carolina on charges related to his Trump assassination Instagram post, also known as the ‘seashells Trump threat case.’
Brazilian tyrannical Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes on the day of his inauguration to Supreme Court – Poder360
Conservative leader Flávio Bolsonaro has been summoned by the Federal Police to hand over his passport within 24 hours.
The order was issued by the wicked Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
Moraes argues that there is a risk that Flavio Bolsonaro could flee abroad to avoid prosecution.
Lula and Moraes want to jail Flavio with his father Jair Bolsonaro – There crime was daring to oppose them in an election and forcing the communists to make an obvious steal.
This is sickening! It took less than 24 hours following the very controversial election that allowed Lula to keep polling stations open late.
Flavio Bolsonaro calls for election results to be annulled in Brazil after last minute move by socialist Lula to keep the polls open late!
Conservative Flavio Bolsonaro called for Sunday’s presidential results to be annulled in Brazil.
This comes after socialist tyrant Lula da Silva callled his personal attorney and Brazilian Justice Christiano Zanin to hold the polls open for two extra hours. Lula arrested the former pro-American leader Jair Bolsonaro following the previous election and is still persecuting the man – like a typical communist.
President Trump on Monday responded to the Brazilian elections on Sunday, where Socialist Lula da Silva won in a rigged election against Flavio Bolsonaro, the son of former persecuted president Jair Bolsonaro.
Notably, in an unprecedented move, voting hours were extended by two hours while Bolsonaro was leading. Then, Lula da Silva came back and won after the extension was ordered by his personal attorney and Brazilian Justice Christiano Zanin.
President Trump responded on Monday, calling the election “rigged.”
“It looked terrible to me. I thought it was terrible-looking. I didn’t take sides, but it looked like another rigged election, frankly,” he said. “I didn’t take sides, but it was a terrible look for the world.”
Trump continued, “You know, elections have to be indisputable, and it looked very bad to me. I didn’t take sides. I didn’t endorse anybody or anything. But I watched the election, and it looked so, so corrupt, so terrible.”
WATCH:
When asked if he would like to do something about the election as President, Trump responded, “Well, I’m not running Brazil; I’m running the USA.
“I just thought that the election was— I like Lula. I get along with him very well,” he said.
“I just think it had a very bad look, the election, the way it was tabulated. The extension given was very strange.”
President Trump will speak at a midterm rally for GOP Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in Mississippi tonight.
Trump posted his list of endorsed candidates in Florida on Truth Social last week:
TO THE GREAT PEOPLE OF MISSISSIPPI, GET OUT AND VOTE FOR:
– Cindy Hyde-Smith for U.S. Senate
– Trent Kelly for U.S. Congress (MS-01)
– Michael Guest for U.S. Congress (MS-03)
– Mike Ezell for U.S. Congress (MS-04)
These Great Patriots have my Complete and Total Endorsement — They will never let you down! President DONALD J. TRUMP swampthevoteusa.com/mississipp
While speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews earlier, Trump said, “We’re gonna get Cindy Hyde-Smith elected. She’s doing very well, I think, and we want to make sure she gets elected because she’s a great senator.”
When asked about a potentially closer race than expected with Democrat challenger Scott Colom, Trump said, “I think she’s doing very well, but I want to make sure she wins.”
“She’s a great person, and she’s a great senator. She loves Mississippi. She loves her state,” he added.
A massive line of supporters had formed outside of the Crossroads Arena in Corinth, hours before Trump’s arrival.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday dismissed the Justice Department’s emergency appeal to remove 20,000 ballots given to non-citizens in California.
A three-judge panel ruled 2-1 that they lacked jurisdiction over the appeal because the lower court did not have adequate opportunity to consider the DOJ’s application for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).
The three judges included: Majority: Mark Bennett (Trump) Gabriel Sanchez (Biden) – Dissent: Patrick Bumatay (Trump).
The DOJ put California on notice and vowed to prosecute election officials who tabulate unlawful ballots.
“California on Notice: Federal agencies identified over 20,000 suspected noncitizens registered to vote in California who have already been mailed ballots,” First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli said on Friday.
“Under 18 U.S.C. §§ 611 and 2, officials who knowingly tabulate unlawful ballots risk aiding and abetting a federal offense. The Justice Department urges the County and the Secretary of State to temporarily segregate the flagged ballots pending citizenship verification or face legal consequences,” Bill Essayli said.
Last week, US District Judge David Carter, a Clinton appointee said he would hold a hearing on the 20,000 ballots on October 27 so the DOJ rushed to the appeals court.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals held a rare Sunday hearing after the DOJ skipped over the District Court judge and asked the appeals court to intervene.
During Sunday’s hearing, the Ninth Circuit Judges appeared skeptical of the Justice Department’s effort to remove the ballots shortly before the midterm elections.
The government asked the appeals court to issue a mandatory injunction and order the State of California and the County of Los Angeles to: (1) to set aside vote-by-mail ballots from persons
identified by the Federal Government likely to be noncitizens and (2) to independently—or in collaboration with the Federal Government—verify their citizenship status before tabulating their vote-by-mail ballot.
On Monday, the Ninth Circuit Court denied the government’s appeal because the DOJ improperly skipped over the district court judge.
“[The] United States failed to allow the district court adequate opportunity to consider its application for a Temporary Restraining Order (“TRO”). For that reason, we lack jurisdiction over this appeal. So we grant the County’s motion to dismiss this appeal and deny as moot the United States’s emergency motion for relief,” the judges wrote.
Crime plummeted in President Donald Trump’s first year back in office, according to a new report.
Overall, non-fatal violent crime excluding simple assault dropped 25 percent from 2024 to 2025, according to a Department of Justice news release.
The data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey show declines in violent crime, property victimization, burglary or trespassing, and motor vehicle theft.
New preliminary estimates from the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey show that the rate of violent crime, property victimization, burglary or trespassing, motor vehicle theft, and other types of household theft FELL SIGNIFICANTLY in 2025.
“This report is proof that President Trump’s ‘Make America Safe Again’ agenda is working,” said @ASGWoodward. “Under @POTUS Trump and @AGToddBlanche, the safety of law-abiding Americans will always come first. This success reinforces our commitment to ensuring every American can live, work, and raise a family without fear.”
“This report is proof that President Trump’s ‘Make America Safe Again’ agenda is working,” Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward said.
“Under President Trump and Attorney General Blanche, the safety of law-abiding Americans will always come first. This success reinforces our commitment to ensuring every American can live, work, and raise a family without fear,” he said.
According to the report, the rate of violent crime excluding simple assault declined 25 percent from 2024’s rate of 9.9 per 1,000 people age 12 or over to 7.4 per 1,000.
The crimes covered in this category include rape or sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated assault.
The rate of aggravated assault fell 31 percent, from 4.5 per 1,000 to 3.1 per 1,000.
Under President Trump and Republicans, we have achieved the largest drop in violent crime EVER RECORDED!
The murder rate is at its lowest level in 125 years. https://t.co/2iroSTkGcC
The property victimization rate fell 19 percent from 138.0 per 1,000 households in 2024 to 111.2 per 1,000 in 2025.
The report noted that the rates of burglary or trespassing went down 25 percent, while other types of household theft fell 19 percent.
The rate of motor vehicle theft dropped 30 percent.
Earlier this year, FBI Director Kash Patel said that the Trump administration has overseen the “most prolific run of crime reduction in United States history,” according to Fox News.
“In 2025, according to the Uniform Crime Report, we delivered the LARGEST year to year reduction of violent crime in AMERICAN HISTORY,” Patel’s statement said.
“They happened with an administration that BACKS the BLUE and a new FBI that has been REBUILT to crush violent threats BEFORE they harm Americans,” he added.
In August, the White House said that according to FBI data, violent crime dropped 9.3 percent in 2025, “the largest annual decline on record.”
