Rep. Andy Harris: ‘Fauci got an autopen scribble pardon. Dr. Adirim has no pardon.’

On the heels of The Gateway Pundit’s reporting on the five-year anniversary of Dr. Terry Adirim’s signing of the interchangeability memorandum on September 14, which stated that the Pfizer-BioNTech Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) COVID-19 shot and the FDA-approved Comirnaty vaccine could be used interchangeably, a congressman from Maryland is urging his fellow lawmakers to “put her under oath.”

Yesterday, Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), who is a physician and a former Naval Reserve medical officer, called upon Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability; Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), the Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, to summon Adirim to testify under oath.

For Davis Younts, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and military defense attorney, “putting her under oath is an absolutely critical step towards accountability for the unlawful mandate issued by Biden’s Department of Defense.”

He suggested several questions need to be raised, such as:

  • Who requested Adirim to draft the memo?
  • Which JAGs and attorneys from the General Counsel’s office examined it?
  • Who gave the final approval for the draft?

“Because the memo was obviously factually and legally wrong,” Younts proposed, “the ultimate question: Who was involved in creating the fabrication (emphasis mine)?”

“Thousands of military members had their careers ended because of this memo, so we need to know how it happened and who was complicit,” he remarked.

The military’s tyrannical enforcement of the COVID-19 shot mandate in 2021 resulted in the destruction of tens of thousands of service members’ careers. As noted in Rep. Harris’ press release, “About 8,600 service members were ejected. Tens of thousands left early. Another 20,000 retired early. Nearly a million ordered to take it.”

“Every commander who relied on this memo should want to know how this happened, [because] they enforced an unlawful order based in part on this fabrication,” said Younts.

This kind of inquiry into the misuse of authority takes on additional weight in light of recent revelations. In a statement that surely caught the interest of Sen. Paul, who investigated Fauci’s intentional cover-up, the press release stated, “Anthony Fauci got an autopen scribble pardon. Dr. Adirim has no pardon.”

Rep. Harris admitted, “I changed what I was willing to say about the vaccines as the facts changed. That is what a physician does. Our Warriors deserve the truth. Put her under oath. Let her look those service members whose careers were ruined and family members of the deceased that were decimated by her memo in the eye.”

Yesterday’s press release clearly reiterated his request. “Put Adirim on the record about that destructive and unlawful memo and its human cost.”

In the midst of this unfolding situation, Lt. Col. (ret.) Ivan Raiklin, a constitutional attorney, former Army Green Beret, and previous instructor at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), quickly took to social media to share the news. He raised a very important question that countless service members are eager to have answered:

“Will this new call for transparency and accountability….lead to criminal referrals on Dr. Adirim?”

The pressing need for transparency not only resonates with those affected by the Adirim memo but also reflects a broader demand for integrity within the military and governmental institutions. The ramifications of the COVID-19 shot mandate continue to ripple through the lives of countless service members and their families, calling into question the decisions made at the highest levels.

Whether this inquiry leads to criminal referrals or not, it is clear that the pursuit of truth remains paramount, as the nation grapples with the consequences of policies that have irrevocably altered the lives of so many.

Romania’s Sovereigntist Revolt: Tens of Thousands of Farmers Storm Bucharest As Country’s Globalist Elite Choose Foreign Imports Over Own People

Romania’s countryside brought its fury to the EU-backed, globalist government’s doorstep Tuesday as farmers and livestock breeders poured into the capital, demanding answers from a corrupt political establishment they say has watched domestic agriculture suffer under rising costs, rigid bureaucracy, import pressure, and years of broken promises.

According to reports from the Romanian press, citing organizers, as many as 200,000 agricultural producers and citizens joined the protest, traveling from counties across Romania. The demonstration hadn’t completed the required authorization procedure, yet farmers said fines wouldn’t frighten them away.

The protest wasn’t another dispute over agricultural subsidies. Sheep breeders, crop farmers, vegetable growers and beekeepers were joined by expressions of support from miners and teachers, widening a revolt rooted in the belief that the people who grow the food, teach the children, and keep the country working are carrying burdens decided elsewhere.

Farmers say they’re being squeezed on all sides. Agricultural diesel, taxation, unpaid subsidies, losses from natural disasters, and competition from imports all feature on a list of grievances that has grown far beyond a single dispute with Bucharest.

The breaking point, for livestock breeders, involves the authorities’ handling of disease outbreaks. Farmers object to the slaughter of entire herds following outbreaks of peste des petits ruminants or sheep and goat pox, particularly when breeders say compensation either arrives late or doesn’t arrive at all.

Then there’s the export blockade. Sheep farmers want live-animal exports reopened, arguing that restrictions have cut them off from crucial markets and left Romanian producers paying the economic price for decisions made by regulators.

Their demands strike directly at ANSVSA, whose leadership protesters want dismissed. Farmers are calling for an end to livestock slaughter in the form currently contested by breeders, compensation for affected producers, outstanding subsidies and measures addressing agricultural fuel costs and taxation.

But the revolt also reaches beyond Bucharest. The EU-Mercosur agreement and agricultural imports appear among the protesters’ concerns, putting the demonstration squarely inside a larger European argument over whether governments are sacrificing their own farmers in pursuit of cheaper imports and international trade deals.

That fight, for Romania’s sovereigntist right, cuts to the bone. Its argument is that food production isn’t another line on some economic spreadsheet: a country that can’t protect its farmers, villages and capacity to feed itself steadily gives away part of its national independence.

Farmer representative Ionică Sterp made clear that producers weren’t planning another ceremonial march followed by a quiet journey home. Unlike July’s protest, organizers said they were prepared to remain in Bucharest for three or four days — or until authorities finally produced a concrete response.

“We won’t leave after a day” was the message. With the milking season finished, Sterp said livestock farmers now have more room to dig in, transforming the demonstration from a one-day warning into a potentially sustained confrontation with the authorities.

And they’ve been here before. Sheep breeders protested in Bucharest on July 30, first outside ANSVSA and later at the government, only to return more than a month later saying the fundamental problems remained unresolved.

That failure to settle the dispute feeds a broader feeling that Romania’s productive economy sits near the bottom of the political pecking order. Farmers say they produce, invest and take the risks while officials respond with paperwork, restrictions, taxation and promises that too often lead nowhere.

The political backdrop makes the confrontation even more explosive. Romania is still living with the fallout from the annulled 2024 presidential election, an extraordinary episode that badly damaged institutional trust among citizens who believed their votes had been cast only to see the contest overturned.

Călin Georgescu became the central figure in that rupture. His supporters regard the annulment and subsequent political turmoil as confirmation of his argument that Romanian sovereignty and popular consent have been subordinated to an entrenched political system; his opponents and state institutions strongly dispute that interpretation.

Either way, the anger didn’t vanish when the election did. For citizens already struggling with austerity, jobs, pensions and public services, the political crisis landed on top of an economic one, reinforcing the sense that ordinary Romanians are repeatedly handed the bill for decisions over which they have little control.

AUR moved quickly into that political space Tuesday. Deputies Florin-Bogdan Velcescu, Gianina Șerban and Doru-Lucian Mușat appeared at the farmers’ demonstration, while party representatives broadcast events from Piața Victoriei directly through social media.

Some AUR politicians accused the Gendarmerie of obstructing their access to demonstrators. The authorities rejected those allegations, insisting that the designated area remained open to anyone wishing to protest peacefully.

AUR leader George Simion backed the farmers while explicitly calling for calm. “I ask farmers and all protesters to demonstrate peacefully, calmly and responsibly,” he said, while urging law enforcement to show “restraint and professionalism” and declaring that AUR stood “alongside farmers.”

The party’s involvement wasn’t improvised at the last minute. AUR held an open-house event near Piața Victoriei, more than 50 people subsequently left its headquarters for the protest, and some branches had previously announced transportation to Bucharest.

By Tuesday, tempers were boiling. The Gendarmerie said some demonstrators pushed beyond their designated area, blocked Kiseleff Road and threw bottles and other objects at officers, leading police to deploy irritant substances and remove several people from the crowd.

Protesters saw the confrontation differently. Angry at the barriers surrounding them, demonstrators accused authorities of trying to squeeze the crowd into an inadequate space and fired back with a slogan tailor-made for a farmers’ rebellion: “Pens are for animals.”

Memories of July only sharpened the distrust. Sterp had warned police not to repeat the tear-gas intervention from that demonstration, claiming some farmers were still suffering from burns sustained during the earlier confrontation.

Strip away the party maneuvering and Romania is left with a harder question. How long can a country afford to watch farmers struggle with costs, disease restrictions, imports, taxes and blocked markets before the erosion of domestic agriculture becomes a matter of national resilience rather than merely agricultural policy?

That question explains why the language of sovereignty resonates with large parts of the protest movement. For those protesters and political movements, sovereignty means more than flags and speeches: it means Romanian farms producing Romanian food, Romanian workers being able to build lives at home, and elected institutions remaining answerable to Romanian voters.

The government now faces an increasingly large group of Romanians that says their patience has reached its limit.

Saudi Arabia Temporarily Shuts Down East-West Oil Pipeline Following Drone Attacks

Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended operations on its East-West oil pipeline, also known as Petroline, following multiple drone attacks this past Thursday, in the Riyadh and Medina regions. The decision was described as a precautionary measure while emergency and specialized technical teams assess the safety of the infrastructure, secure the affected facilities, and address any damage. The attacks reportedly caused several injuries, with medical assistance provided to those affected.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks, stating that several drones had originated from Iraqi territory and caused both human injuries and material damage. Riyadh indicated that it would not retaliate against Iraq at this stage, allowing Baghdad time to take appropriate measures. However, Saudi Arabia reserved the right to defend its territory and protect its critical infrastructure if necessary.

The East-West pipeline is approximately 1,200 kilometers long and transports crude oil from Saudi Arabia’s eastern production areas, near Abqaiq and the Persian Gulf, across the Arabian Peninsula to Yanbu on the Red Sea. The system has an estimated maximum capacity of approximately 7 million barrels per day. In recent months, it had reportedly been carrying between 4 million and 5 million barrels per day, making it a crucial alternative export route during disruptions affecting traditional Gulf shipping channels.

Petroline’s strategic importance has increased substantially amid regional tensions and disruptions involving the Strait of Hormuz. By transporting crude to the Red Sea, the pipeline allows Saudi Arabia to bypass the strait and reduce its dependence on this critical maritime chokepoint. However, the effectiveness of this alternative depends on the security and availability of Red Sea shipping routes, which have also faced risks associated with regional conflict and Houthi attacks.

Satellite imagery reportedly showed smoke and fire damage near pumping stations or related infrastructure south of Medina. Such damage highlights the vulnerability of energy infrastructure that depends on interconnected pumping stations, control systems, and transportation facilities. Even if the main pipeline remains structurally intact, damage to supporting equipment can interrupt the movement of crude and require extensive safety inspections before operations resume.

Saudi and Iraqi officials indicated that the drones were launched from Iraqi territory, with the attacks reportedly linked to Maysan province, which borders Iran. Iraq’s prime minister’s office condemned the incident, ordered an investigation, and dismissed the operations commander for the province. Nevertheless, no group had publicly claimed responsibility for the attacks, leaving the precise identity of the perpetrators unresolved.

The question of Iranian involvement adds a further geopolitical dimension. U.S. President Donald Trump later stated that Iran was “probably” behind the assault. The possibility of involvement by Iran-aligned armed groups operating in Iraq remains part of the broader regional security context, but attribution should be distinguished from confirmed evidence.

The temporary shutdown creates additional pressure on Saudi Arabia’s remaining export infrastructure. The kingdom can continue producing and exporting oil through other channels, but the loss of Petroline reduces its ability to redirect crude away from vulnerable maritime routes. If the closure is prolonged, Saudi Arabia may face difficult decisions involving storage capacity, alternative transportation routes, production management, and the allocation of available export infrastructure.

The market impact is likely to extend beyond Saudi Arabia. The disruption adds to existing concerns about global oil supply reliability, particularly at a time when restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz and risks in the Red Sea have already complicated energy transportation. Even if the physical loss of supply remains limited, the attack can increase the geopolitical risk premium in oil prices because traders must account for the possibility of further attacks or prolonged infrastructure outages.

The economic consequences for Saudi Arabia will depend on the duration of the shutdown and the kingdom’s ability to maintain export volumes through alternative routes. Higher oil prices could partially offset reduced sales volumes, but sustained transportation disruptions could still undermine revenue stability and complicate production planning. The incident therefore poses both a logistical challenge and a strategic threat to the kingdom’s energy-export resilience.

This incident demonstrates that infrastructure security, maritime access, and regional diplomatic stability are closely interconnected. While the current suspension is temporary and does not represent a complete halt to Saudi oil exports, a prolonged outage could have wider consequences for regional security, global energy markets, and the stability of international oil supplies.

Have you noticed that lots of Democrats are suddenly fearmongering about AI, like right out of the blue? None of this is happening by accident.

It’s all about control and money, the usual reasons, in other words.

This weekend on FOX News Sunday, conservative writer and political analyst Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist did a great job of explaining this.

SHANNON BREAM: Dario Amodei worries about the takeover of the internet by these AI agents. But he talks about China: “If we greatly restrain our AI capabilities in the belief China will do the same, and then China defects, A.I. could be so powerful that such a defection could lead to their geopolitical dominance.” How do you measure these imbalances?

MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: First of all, Dario Amodei runs an AI company, but if he really believes these things, he has complete control.

SHANNON BREAM: That is what David Sacks, Just do it, you run the company, do it.

MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: It is an issue of our common Washington, D.C. People seek regulatory capture. You’ve made it to the top of the heap, and you want to keep everybody else out by regulating so the smaller competition companies cannot rise.

So this is particularly concerning for this particular issue because these six or seven top AI oligarchs are all massively aligned with the Democratic Party, the left. They want to make sure they have control for a post-Trump environment, so they can engage in ongoing censorship and control, and keep anybody else out for decades to come.

So it is totally legitimate to be concerned about AI. I myself am as well. But when you see a massive op like this going on, you have to wonder about precisely the motivation.

FDA Using Taxpayer Dollars to Buy Young Baboons for Infection Experiments in Maryland

The Food and Drug Administration is buying up young baboons with taxpayer dollars so researchers can infect and kill them for research in Maryland.

White Coat Waste Project has released a new report detailing how the agency issued a $368,626 purchase order on August 31 to buy 20 baboons for pertussis experiments at its Maryland primate laboratory.

An active protocol allows the lab to use up to 48 animals.

Some of the baboons will receive experimental vaccines or antibodies. Others will get no protection at all. Then researchers will pump the bacteria that cause whooping cough into their windpipes and noses.

The primates will be subjected to violent coughing, vomiting, breathing problems, fever, weight loss, nasal discharge, and weeks of illness.

Staff will draw blood and swab noses and throats again and again.

Some of the animals will be killed and dissected so researchers can examine their lungs, windpipes, and lymph nodes.

That is a lot of suffering for a disease America already vaccinates against, and taxpayers are being forced to spend more than a third of a million dollars on it.

The news of the purchase order comes as the Trump administration has made significant moves to shift away from animal testing.

The Department of Veterans Affairs eliminated its primate laboratories. The CDC moved to shut monkey labs and send survivors to sanctuaries. NIH closed the last beagle experiments on its own campus. EPA revived a plan to end mammal use in chemical testing by 2035. Congress even barred painful Department of Defense research on cats and dogs.

The public message has been clear: stop the cruelty and waste and use modern methods.

The labs and researchers apparently did not get the message.

Last week, Gateway Pundit reported that White Coat Waste documented more than $225 million in new NIH funding for dog and cat experiments awarded, supplemented, renewed, or extended since February 2025.

The total climbed from about $150 million in June.

Nearly $98 million went to pharmaceutical companies running dog tests.

An earlier WCW review found more than $30 million in new fiscal 2026 NIH money for primate projects, including work that infects monkeys with dangerous pathogens and force-feeds experimental drugs.

The public is being told that there is a phase-out, but many of these agencies seem to be doing a restock instead.

White Coat Waste noted in their report:

The FDA’s latest purchase stands in stark contrast to the progress WCW has already driven at the agency.

In 2018, following pressure from WCW, the FDA canceled nicotine-addiction experiments on baby monkeys and retired the survivors to a sanctuary.

WCW kept the pressure on and subsequently shut down the FDA’s largest primate laboratory and led the advocacy and lobbying campaign that slashed the agency’s overall primate testing by 63 percent.

WCW also compelled the FDA to enact its first-ever agency-wide lab animal retirement policy, allowing monkeys and other animals who survive experiments to be relocated to rescues and sanctuaries.

The WCW policy victory has saved tax dollars and animals’ lives. Last year, the FDA retired several baboons from its Maryland lab to a sanctuary.

The new purchase order shows why pressure still matters.

If the government is serious about replacing animal tests with modern tools, why is it buying another shipment of young baboons to cough, vomit, and, in some cases, die on a dissection table?

President Trump on Tuesday went off on the Supreme Court in a Truth Social post, blasting the justices he appointed during his first term as “a shell of their original selves” after they ruled against fraud prevention measures in the mail-in ballot system. 

Republicans just got another bad decision from the United States Supreme Court, one that the Court System took forever to give, and then blamed it, in part, on no time left to implement a solution to our totally CORRUPT and out of control Mail-In voting ‘disaster,’ which is a laughing stock all over the World, and where we are the only country that has to endure such a Nation Destroying SCAM,” Trump said following the decision.

“The Court’s inability and unwillingness to do the right thing for our Country will go down, in a very negative way, in the annals of History.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Supreme Court denied President Trump’s emergency request to restrict mail-in ballots ahead of the midterm elections on Monday. The Trump Administration sought to enforce a new US Postal Service rule that would allow the Postal Service to refuse to deliver ballots to states that did not comply with requirements to submit a list of eligible voters and adopt a uniform envelope design for mail-in ballots.

Only two justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, dissented. Justice Brett Kavanaugh concurred with the majority.

Trump went off, slamming the Supreme Court for its “horrible, highly political, ruling” but calling Justices Alito and Thomas “legends” for dissenting.

Certain Justices are petrified of these crazed and depraved Democrats, and are totally unable to show the courage necessary to save our America,” Trump added, also shredding SCOTUS for past rulings on tariffs and birthright citizenship. “It is a Court that will go down as having rendered some of the most destructive, hurtful, and damaging decisions in our Country’s history.”

“This Supreme Court is bullied and cajoled by the Radical Left into making decisions that have set America back at least a hundred years,” he continued.

“These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves, a Court that is costing the United States Trillions of Dollars with shockingly bad rulings that are of such magnitude that it won’t be easily possible for our Country to recover or heal.”

Forget the SAVE Act. It was never going to pass. As I’ve predicted and warned for six months now. We’ve all been wasting our time on a fantasy that could never happen.

The GOP Senate is run by a bunch of backstabbing, turncoat RINOS- “Republicans in Name Only.” They never had the votes to pass the SAVE Act, and they were never going to kill the filibuster. NEVER.

But as I’ve warned for those same six months, even if a miracle happened and the RINO GOP Senate did manage to pass the SAVE Act at the last minute, it would be too little, too late. It would immediately be blocked in courts by Democrat legal challenges and communist insurrection judges.

The SAVE Act was never going to save the midterms.

President Trump is trying. He is relentless. He is amazing. He is superhuman. Give him an A+ for effort.

But he’s like Jack Lalanne pulling a ship, while swimming through San Francisco Harbor, by a rope attached to his teeth. Trump is a one-man army, doing it all by himself- it’s Trump against the world.

His own GOP Senate is useless. Worse than useless, they’re clearly playing for the other side. They’re actively working against President Trump and the MAGA agenda.

President Trump has tried a thousand ways to stop another stolen election. He has signed so many Executive Orders his hand should be sore- to secure the election; to inject integrity into the midterms; to ensure a level playing field; to implement Voter ID and proof of citizenship, and strictly limit mail-in ballots. But there is one problem…

None of it works.

Because there is a communist color revolution and literally, a real-life coup going on- led by communist insurrection judges who block everything President Trump does to secure the election.

That’s the conspiracy this time around- the foundation is the communist judges leading the insurrection. 

President Trump has even tried to win the midterms by announcing new policies- like a $5,000 dividend check to every US citizen, if Republicans retain both houses of Congress in the midterms. It’s a brilliant move. Trump took a page right out of the Democrat playbook.

Democrats have bribed voters for the past 100 years to get elected. They fall all over themselves giving away free stuff to their voting groups.

But President Trump figured out “two can play at this game.” Brilliant. 

 

Except it won’t matter. Policies won’t matter. $5,000 dividends given to the American people won’t matter. Trump campaigning day and night across the country won’t matter.

Nothing matters- as long as Democrats are able to rig and steal elections.

 

That’s why I invented this idea, and then proposed to President Trump that he needs to declare a “National Security Emergency for Elections”- in order bypass Congress, and implement everything necessary to secure the midterms.

President Trump loves branding. So, I’ve given my plan a name that is simple and easy to remember…

“The NEED Act.”

 

Because we need to secure our rigged elections. We need to stop massive voter fraud. We need to stop foreign interference in our elections. We need to stop China and the CCP from stealing the midterms. And we need President Trump to ride to the rescue and declare it T-O-D-A-Y, because the midterms are right around the corner, and we’re running out of time.

 

“N-E-E-D Act” stands for “National Emergency for Elections Declaration.” N-E-E-D.

 

As I’ve pointed out again and again since I first came up with this idea in March, a National Security Emergency is very different than an Executive Order. EO’s can be legally challenged in court (and therefore blocked by communist insurrection judges).

A National Security Emergency declared by the President cannot be challenged in court.

 

The Supreme Court already ruled in INS vs. Chadha that a National Security Emergency can only be overturned by a 2/3rds vote of Congress.

How certain am I about this?

Well not only did the Supreme Court already settle this debate, but this isn’t my first rodeo. I came up with this idea in 2019, and President Trump adopted it, and used it successfully, to jump right over the head of Congress, and to fund the wall with funds from the Pentagon budget. Congress tried to overturn it. But they failed- they could not muster a 2/3rds vote. It worked!

The wall was built. Democrats knew my idea was foolproof. They didn’t even try a legal challenge. They knew only a 2/3rds vote in Congress could stop it.

Trump won. America won. The border was secured.

 

Fast forward to today. I have even more proof. When far left groups like “Media Matters” (funded by George Soros) attack you, and try to demonize you, you know you’re right. You know you have them beaten. You know you have them on the run. You know they are panicked and desperate.

 

You know you’re right over the target. 

Well, “Media Matters” put out a long “hit piece” on me last week. The title was…

Thank you, “Media Matters.” What flattery. What a badge of honor. What a “tell” as we say in Las Vegas!

Media Matters is clearly scared to death of me and my idea. They know its foolproof. They know it was already proven in 2019 with the NSE for the border. They know with my idea in place, elections cannot be rigged and stolen.

 

And most importantly, they know…Democrats cannot win the midterms without massive voter fraud.

 

If Democrats can’t steal it, they can’t win. Period.

 

President Trump, we NEED you to secure the midterms. We NEED you to make elections secure again. We NEED you to make America great again. Forget the SAVE Act. It’s never going to happen.

It’s time for “The NEED Act.” 

 

President Trump, we need you to step up and save America, by saving the midterms.

And we need it now, more than ever before in election history.

Elon Musk PAC Steps Up with Big Bucks to Fund Key Swing-State Races

With the midterm elections less than two months away, Elon Musk’s America PAC is funneling money into Maine congressional races to help maintain GOP control.

Musk’s PAC has dedicated $170,000 to ads, phone calls, mailers, and text messages supporting GOP Sen. Susan Collins, who is running against Democrat Troy Jackson, according to The Center Square.

Collins’ seat is crucial for Republicans and could determine which party controls the upper chamber for the final two years of Trump’s presidency. Republicans currently hold a 53-47 seat majority but have little room for error, given the Senate map.

Initially, Collins’ seat was thought to be safe after her original challenger Graham Platner was marred by scandal.

When he dropped out of the race in July, however, Jackson took his place and gave Democrats a fighting chance.

Platner was initially hailed as a populist hero and was able to survive revelations about a Nazi tattoo on his chest, offensive social media posts, infidelity, and allegations of abuse against former girlfriends.

The straw that broke the camel’s back came when he was accused of rape by Maine Democrat Jenny Racicot.

Jackson, who was chosen by the state Democratic Party to pick up the pieces, is a logger and former state Senate President with name recognition.

In addition to bolstering Collins, Musk’s PAC is targeting Maine’s 2nd Congressional District race, which is an open seat, giving $21,000 for advertisements aimed at the Democratic State Auditor Matt Dunlap.

President Donald Trump has backed former Republican Gov. Paul LePage, who will face off against Dunlap in November.

The seat is being vacated by Democratic Rep. Jared Golden, who chose not to seek re-election.

If Democrats retake the House, where the GOP majority is razor-thin, they’re likely to initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump and other top cabinet members, like Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

In addition to Musk’s contributions, the Senate Leadership Fund — a GOP super PAC — has given over $42 million to the Maine race, highlighting its importance.

The Tesla CEO has also set his sights on the Texas Senate race between Democrat James Talarico and Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton.  

Musk’s super PAC reportedly pledged to spend more than $120 million to elect Republicans this cycle and has already spent $2.6 million on the Texas race, Forbes reported.

In the Ohio Senate race, where Republican Sen. Jon Husted is facing former Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, America PAC has doled out $1.7 million.

Filings also revealed that in the high-profile Michigan Senate race between GOP Rep. Mike Rogers and controversial Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, the PAC has given $1.5 million.

Musk has stood behind the Republican Party, despite having a public feud with Trump following his tenure leading the Department of Government Efficiency.

Despite historical trends favoring the party out of power, Republicans are still well positioned to maintain their Senate majority and could even hold onto the House, given mid-decade redistricting efforts undertaken in various GOP states.

MASSIVE SPYWARE BREACH: Spain’s President Lost Millions of Messages, Emails, Photos and Audio to Pegasus

A new assessment of the Pegasus spyware attack on Spanish President Pedro Sánchez has revealed the extraordinary scale of information extracted from his cellphone, reigniting questions about who was behind the operation and what may have happened to sensitive government data.

Spain’s National Intelligence Centre, known as the CNI, has acknowledged that Pegasus extracted approximately 2.7 gigabytes of data from Sánchez’s phone during the 2021 cyberattack.

To illustrate the enormous volume of information represented by that amount of data, the CNI estimates it could correspond to roughly 5 million text messages, 100,000 emails, 1,200 photographs or 40 hours of recorded audio, according to reports published in Spain.

A Spyware Attack on the President

Sánchez’s phone was compromised by Pegasus in May 2021, with investigators determining that approximately 2.6 gigabytes of information were extracted during the first attack and another roughly 130 megabytes during a subsequent intrusion.

The phone of then-Defense Minister Margarita Robles was also targeted.

The Spanish government said at the time that the attacks were external and had not been authorized by Spanish authorities. But the identity of the person or organization responsible for the attacks has remained a major unresolved question.

Pegasus, developed by Israeli technology company NSO Group, is among the world’s most sophisticated commercial surveillance tools. Once a device is successfully compromised, attackers can potentially gain access to highly sensitive communications and information stored on the phone.

For a sitting president, that could include private conversations, diplomatic communications, government documents, photographs, contacts and information involving national-security matters.

One of the most troubling questions surrounding the case is not simply how much data was extracted, but what the attackers obtained.

Spanish authorities have previously acknowledged that forensic investigators could establish the amount of data removed from the devices but could not necessarily determine exactly which documents or pieces of information were taken.

That means the 2.7-gigabyte figure provides an indication of the scale of the breach without answering the more consequential question: What did the attackers actually see?

The uncertainty has fueled political controversy in Spain and prompted renewed scrutiny of the government’s handling of sensitive communications.

The Timing Added to the Controversy

The Pegasus attacks occurred during a period of intense diplomatic tension between Spain and Morocco.

The first compromise of Sánchez’s phone occurred in May 2021, around the same period as the diplomatic crisis surrounding Brahim Ghali, the leader of the Polisario Front, who entered Spain for medical treatment.

Thousands of immigrants subsequently crossed from Morocco into the Spanish city of Ceuta, producing one of the most serious border crises Spain had experienced in years.

Spanish investigators have examined the broader circumstances surrounding the spyware operation, but the existence of a temporal connection does not by itself establish who ordered or carried out the cyberattack.

The Spanish case illustrates a problem facing governments around the world: a compromised device belonging to a head of government could potentially expose information involving foreign policy, military planning, intelligence operations, diplomatic negotiations and communications with other world leaders.

That makes the Pegasus episode more than a Spanish political scandal. It is a reminder of the vulnerabilities facing government officials in an era in which sophisticated spyware can target mobile devices without the victim necessarily realizing that the phone has been compromised.

And despite years of investigation, one critical question remains unanswered:

Who obtained the information from Pedro Sánchez’s phone — and what did they do with it?

Even If ‘Operation Economic Outcast’ Works, It Won’t End the War

What would the day after look like in the region?

I’m in a generous mood. Let’s say the newest scheme works: The latest iteration of attempted economic strangulation causes state collapse in Iran. I remain skeptical, but in my expansive goodwill, I’ll go ahead and grant the premise for the sake of argument. I’ll even grant that it happens on a manageable political timescale, oh, six months or so.

What then?

Some portion of the country is still devoted to the actually existing regime of the Islamic Republic. (I’ve seen estimates from 15 percent to 30 percent; there’s not exactly a ton of cutting-edge opinion polling coming out of Iran.) It seems likely that the overthrow of the regime would kick off a pretty good-sized civil war between hardline remnants of the IRGC, which has a fairly decentralized command structure, and whichever IRGC and regular army elements joined whatever fresh adventure in human organization took power in Tehran. (This is laying aside the possibility of power struggles within the revolutionary government’s own constituent groups, such as those which characterized the 1979 revolution.) Separatist movements in the Iranian periphery would also probably take their shot at independence, particularly violent, left-wing Kurdish groups like the Komala and the PJAK (the Iranian affiliate of the PKK).

This would probably invite a Turkish military intervention; after having spent a great deal of blood and treasure neutralizing the PKK affiliate in Syria, the SDF, and much political capital to disarm and normalize the group’s Turkish mothership, the Erdoğan government is unlikely to tolerate a fresh eruption of armed Kurdish agitation. The PKK’s fractious relations with other, more mainstream Kurdish groups would also introduce instability into the closest thing the region has to a success story this century: autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan.

So our fledgling champion of freedom in Tehran starts life at war with remnants of the old regime and previously latent threats to its territorial integrity. (States, even newborn revolutionary states, don’t seem to enjoy losing territory very much, and Iran’s humiliating 20th-century history of occupations at the hands of foreign powers has rather sharpened this sensitivity.) It will have a foreign power intervening in and possibly occupying its territory. It will be desperately poor, its infrastructure will be collapsing, and its military power will be severely degraded. This is an unenviable start to life.

Then there’s the question of aligned groups. This war has become regionalized, to put it mildly. While the Houthis, the Iraqi militias, and Hezbollah all depend on Iran for largesse to some extent, they do also have their own resources—particularly the Houthis, who directly control large portions of Yemen’s industry and infrastructure. State collapse in Iran is not going to dissolve these groups overnight. 

What’s the point of this little scenario? To show that the overthrow of the ayatollahs is unlikely to be a nice, clean end to America’s little jaunt in the region. No matter how much you jabber about how “nation building” was the besetting sin of the Bush administration, it is simply true that leaving an enormous, chaotic power vacuum in the Persian Gulf will continue to constrain energy flows, which has become a thematic parameter of American policy. Any new Iranian state would require stupendous amounts of aid to establish the state capacity to sustain stability and territorial integrity; it is likely that it will require direct military support in the civil war following its ascent. The application of American military power might also be required to quell the ongoing peripheral conflicts in Yemen and Iraq. (Wouldn’t you love for the U.S. to go back into Iraq? Haven’t you been dreaming of that for the past 15 years?) Money for foreigners, even framed as investment, is not something in large supply or very good political odor in the United States at this particular moment. 

All this is to say that, if all goes according to plan and Scott Bessent’s godlike intelligence engineers the downfall of a major nation, “the end of the war”—the supposedly total political victory of overthrowing the Islamic Republic—is unlikely to be the actual end of the war. Mopping up the ruins of the peace could take a long time, and it wouldn’t be cheap. And, in my final act of generosity, this presumes that limited American materiel is even up to the task. Sometimes you break it and there’s not enough money in your wallet to buy it.

A deal continues to be the only way this war ends on a politically acceptable timescale, short of an embarrassing unilateral withdrawal. A return to the June memorandum of understanding framework remains the most realistic way to bridge a gap between the warring parties that seems to grow wider by the day. Some games aren’t worth the candle; “outright victory in Iran” is likely to be one.
